Winston's holds a special place in that it has one of my favorite breakfast plates of any breakfast place I've been too. This very popular counter service cafe is very popular for good reason. The food is amazing. I am so happy to we chose to go here while visiting Napa for a few days. It's worth visiting Napa just to go to Winston's in my humble opinion. The waits can be long to get in and order and maybe even long to get a table, but it's worth it. Also, this place is a great community establishment and helps out the local pet shelter to help find homes for dogs. They even have coloring pages with crayons of adoptable dogs at the Napa shelter. My wife and I ordered two breakfast places and two pastries on our visit. The salmon salad plate was our healthy plate, which was really tasty and fresh. The true standout for me is their pork Belly Loco Moco. I never seem to love a loco moco plate, but I like them. They are typically served with a beef patty. Let me just say that this is a perfect plate of food. The pork belly melts in your mouth and has a delicious hoisin sauce drizzled on it. The eggs and pickled veggies god great with the pork belly, but there is also this wonderful gravy on the plate which is like a chicken gravy. It's so ridiculously good. I can't say enough good things about this plate and how much it works together in balance and harmony. We also tried their toasted Coconut donut, which is a glazed yeast donut with toasted coconut flakes. It was very good! But the dessert standout was the chocolate pistachio muffin. This was so moist, buttery and rich with chocolate and nuttiness. So delicious! I also want to add that I love the ambiance of Winston's and its lovely decor. Owner, I'm sorry for this review, but I want to share our experience honestly. Unfortunately, our visit fell short in a few areas. Our table wasn't properly cleared , some dishes were removed before our food arrived, but the remaining ones weren't taken away until after, and the table was never wiped down between. As for the food, I'd give it a 3/5. The chorizo in my omelet was overly salty, not in a seasoned way, but genuinely too much to enjoy. The potatoes also tasted like they had been fried multiple times, possibly to reheat, which left them with an off flavor. read more

Seating is tricky . I had a party of 9 but we were able to snag the long table as we waited in line . I kid you not. The best doughnut I e had in my life !! I think about it often. My aunt also said the waffle was the best she ever had. Def on the pricier side - glass of orange juice is $8. I got the Botegga Bagle which was delicious and filling. Happy New Year Everyone, starting the year with 5 Star Reviews! Quality/Quantity - Overall, the food was good. Breakfast Don - My daughter really liked this, but she actually did not finish her meal. Since we had guests, I did not want to lecture her, lol. Decent quantity, perfect for one person, perfect for a medium eater. Pork Belly Loco Moco - Two orders of this. It looked great and according to our guest, it tasted as good as it looked. Too bad I am cutting back on bacon... Chicken and Waffles - 3 chicken strips on top of a waffle. It was quite a lot of food, but this went to our youngest and biggest eater. He was able to finish it with no problems. On a side note, I think it is time to change your fryer oil. Special - Mushroom omelette. As light eaters, my wife and I shared this. Overall, very good and healthy. We especially enjoyed the extra crisp potatoes. But just like the chicken strips, I thought the oil needed to be changed. And to wash it down: Latte. Chai Latte with Oat milk for $1 more. Both were good. Oh, I really really wanted a donut, but NO one would split one with me... Ambiance - Fairly small place, well maybe it seemed and felt small because they were so busy, congrats. Easy spot for a yummy breakfast with friends right in downtown Napa. SERVICE: Staff here was super friendly and patient with our requests. You order at a cashier and then head to self-seating but everything is super clean and staff is always walking around checking up on you. FOOD: I loved the bagel I tried, not too tough and not too doughy. Their house cream cheeses were great too (particularly loved the scallion one). But, it seems like locals are coming here for their desserts!! These donuts were awesome: so large and the glazes tasted fresh and homemade, not fake. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite for breakfast/ lunch! All the food was delicious and tased like they used to really fresh ingredients. The coffee was also really good! Over all really enjoyed our breakfast here and we will be back if we are in town again! Highly recommend trying one of their pastries as well, they are hard to pass up. We visited the day after Christmas around 1:45pm and they were kind in serving us even though it was 15 minutes before closing - I feel so lucky we made it in time! At that point, the baked goods were mostly gone but we got to try the Chocolate Pave and it was SO GOOD that I got back in line to buy another one to bring home. They said it's a daily item and gluten free! So moist and delicious with chocolate ganache, topped with pistachios and maldon salt (perfection) We had the pork belly loco moco and lox bagel and both were delicious! I loved the space, especially sitting at the community table. This place is so cute and being that it is a two minute walk from my house I have given them more chances than I should have. I am giving three stars because it is cute, convenient and everyone there has been really cheerful and happy to answer questions! The reason this isn't 5 stars is simple. They burn their bagels. I'm not talking one time I went and it was a little darker than I prefer... no. I'm talking like every single time I step foot in there I leave with a piece of charcoal. It's gross. I thought maybe it was a mistake when they were new and figuring stuff out so I tried again. Unfortunately I got the same results and about once every few months when I'm out of bagels at home I try again and it's always the same thing. It is so disappointing because I can tell that pre becoming a charcoal frisbee it was made with love and has potential to be delicious. I have tried other things from them and nothing has stuck out as amazing especially for the price. I am sure I will try them again and maybe eventually I won't get served a hockey puck and then I can give them the review I so desperately want to be able to! We came here for brunch and the food was not too bad. I got the avocado bagel with a side of potatoes and that was pretty yummy. My husband got the chicken and waffles which he also enjoyed. We went after everyone for out of church so it was definitely packed and busy finding a table to sit was a little difficult and the service was decent for how busy they were. I like this place...the local town quiant hipster welcoming cafe with super tasty bakery treats. Meal of choice while visiting that day was Winston's version of Loco Moco with Pork Belly. My mom had thier breakfast Enchiladas. I believe my plate was better but she's not very adventurous when it comes to food. Service was ok, most of the people working didnt smile expect for the front counter lady, but even she didnt look like she wanted to be there. Come o people...you gotta fake it till you make it sometimes!! Cafe dinning area was roomy with plenty of seating. There was a high bar to sit at in the middle of the room to give you a good view of the indoor and outdoor space. Gender neutral restroom if that knowledge floats your boat and family friendly. They have food items listed above the registers on the walls and I didn't realize there was a more extensive paper menu. I'll have to try out some of the other items in the future. Came here during breakfast time on a Sunday and it was packed! This is a cute little cafe near downtown. It's an order first, and find a seat type restaurant, so just keep that in mind when you see the long line of people waiting outside of the door. Luckily, my husband and I were able to secure a table after we placed our order. What we got: Breakfast Don (3.5/5) - This was basically a spam rice bowl topped with a poached egg, kimchi, avocado, and assorted veg. This with was yummy, but for $18, I could definitely make this at home. Probably would get something else if I came back here. Breakfast Sandwich with Bacon (4/5) - My husband will order this same type of simple breakfast every time. Nothing special in my eyes, but he loved it! Lol. Iced Vanilla Latte (5/5) - Idk what it was that morning, but this coffee hit the spot! Sweetened to perfection, creamy, and the espresso nice and balanced. It was soooo good! Iced Cherry Vanilla Latte (5/5) - Again, not sure if they make their own syrups, but their coffee drinks were so solid. My husband ordered their seasonal cherry flavor and added vanilla. I took a sip and loved it too. Assorted donuts (4/5) - Their donuts were such a delicious sweet end to our breakfast! We got one maple and one apple. So, so yummy! Would definitely come back just for their donuts. This bakery and cafe has such a cute vibe to it, and would be a great place to take friends or family who are visiting. I was pleasantly surprised by the coffee and donuts offered here. I will have to come back another time to try the other sit down meals they have to offer. This place was recommended to us by a friend who frequents Napa often. The food was so damn good. When you walk up to the restaurant, there's a line out the door. You wait in line to order your food and then go find a seat. We found a spot outside and the sun was shining bright, making it a perfect day to be outside. The chorizo was flavorful, just the right amount of spice. My chorizo enchiladas were topped with eggs, I chose scrambled. They were fluffy and delicious. My partner had an omelette and said there same about his eggs. We also shared a chocolate chip cookie, because they are made fresh as this place is a bakery! They were out of breakfast potatoes, so I got the French fries and he got a bagel, which was very good because it was also made fresh that day. I can't wait to come back to Winston's! I came to this restaurant after seeing the hype on TikTok, especially for the Chicken & Waffles, so my girlfriend and I were genuinely excited to try it. Unfortunately, it ended up being our most disappointing meals from our Napa trip. We ordered the Chicken & Waffles and the Pork Belly Loco Moco. For $25+ per plate, we expected some really delicious and memorable meals as it is a significant price increase especially for the Chicken & Waffles. However, as soon as the orders came out, the disappointment sets in. The Chicken & Waffles were just so disappointing to look at, the chicken itself is just overcooked and its presentation just looks so dull and lifeless. Additionally, we weren't given any maple syrup which was questionable. I honestly couldn't believe I paid more than $20 for this thing. On the other hand, the Pork Belly Loco Moco was fairly decent which became the only highlight of the meal. Despite coming around 1-2 hours before closing, the staff greeted us promptly and were very accommodating throughout our time. Overall, service was decent and its setting was casual and easygoing. Overall, not the best first impression. But, I would still be willing to give it a second chance and try the other dishes... I used to visit this location when it was under the name of a different bakery. To my surprise, this bakery replaced the old one! I'm not sure if they are related at all, but that is neither here nor there. In order to have a seat to dine in, you have to first complete your order at the window and get a number. I think this probably ensures people are not hoarding or taking over tables unnecessarily. I did not mind this at all. My mom and I shared the lox bagel with the garlic bagel being our choice, the power bowl, two scrambled eggs on the side, and a birthday cake donut. That birthday cake donut is one of the best donuts I've had in a very long time! It is more dense than a traditional donut, but not cakey in the way that an old-fashioned donut or cake donut can be. Just take my advice and make sure you at least buy a donut to go! When it comes to a toasted bagel, next time I will choose a different bagel other than the garlic. While the bagel itself was chewy and fresh, when toasted, the garlic became burnt and bitter which affected the flavor of the actual dish. The power bowl was a very hearty and refreshing dish. It had Chia seeds, dried fruit, toasted coconut, mixed fruit, and had the consistency of a thick overnight oats base. I've just discovered that they have a special menu on I think Friday and Saturday nights called Winston's Wok and I can't wait to come back to try that. But in the meantime, if I am there during the day, I am definitely picking up a donut to go! read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! But if you have a hard time hearing it might not be for you... My husband couldn't stand the noise in there. But the food is amazing! I didn't get any pictures cause we were just so busy talking with everyone, but we got a variety of foods... Eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, vegan pudding with fruit, and some Mexican dishes... And yummy coffees, and beer! I've never had chicken like that before...I didn't think I'd like it and then it just totally grew on me and I loved it! The sauce on the eggs Benedict was fabulous. I mean.....the owners named this establishment after their pup; there's already good juju flowing in here by default. :p Happy to further report that the things that I tried here are *quality*! The monkey bread is a must-try especially if you like a savory & sweet treat. Amazingly flaky and crispy pastry pieces (they're like fully laminated bite-size croissant squares) with chopped sweetened bacon. I also enjoyed the almond croissant; no skimping on the scrumptious almond paste filling! The donuts in particular here are quite special: they're the dense style but have such a unique hearty bite to them.....like the chewiness factor is like a cross between a mochi donut and a pretzel LOL I dunno how else to explain it!! Either way, I'd say highly recommend trying one unless you're strictly a fluffy-pillow-soft-donut loyalist. I specifically tried the toasted coconut donut and the vanilla donut and they're both packed with flavor. As for an actual meal, I had the Denver steak hash, a seasonal special at the time. Flavor bomb on-a-plate!! Gave very much farm-to-fork vibes. I ordered the Bodega bagel sandwich and modified it by replacing the bacon with ham; there was no extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise. The sandwich was so good, but the real star was the scallion cream cheese... I'm genuinely still thinking about it. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Every plate the staff brought to other tables had me wishing I could try everything on the menu. I couldn't leave without something sweet, so I grabbed a glazed twist pastry, which was also delicious. I also ordered a brown sugar iced latte. It was good, but not something I'd need to order again; definitely the food shines more than the drinks here. Overall, the food was incredible, the vibes were great, and it's absolutely a spot worth visiting, especially if you love bagels and baked goods. I normally head to Ritual coffee when I'm in town, but they serve a pretty solid cup of espresso drinks here as well. My Avocado Crunch Sando was awesome. Great mom and pop restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We got there a few minutes before opening and there was already a line. But it moves quickly as you peruse the menu. The pastries make you feel like a kid in a candy store. I chose the citrus roll. The lemon flavor was intense. The mushroom omelette was big, hot and satisfying.
