The awesome pie we were given this week. Beautiful and delicious. Nice thick, soft crust.

A good friend just surprised us with a beautiful pie from Sweetie Pies. The crust itself is like nothing I've ever seen. It looks like a pie from a fairy tale. It's also delicious. If I lived in Napa, I'd be visiting often.

If you're looking for decent pie, this is worth a visit. Cute consistent staple of downtown Napa.

No clue how they get their English muffins so fluffy or how their staff operates so well during the…read morebreakfast rush. Model Bakery is definitely worth a visit! The lines in the morning definitely get long. Don't expect to loiter inside; there are signs kindly asking to wait for your order at their outside tables. They estimated about 30 minutes for my order of 2 sandwiches and a coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised when they called my name after 15 minutes. I don't even usually like English muffin sandwiches but this wowed me. The inside of the muffin is so soft and the outside is griddled to a perfect crisp. A great start to my day in Napa, I'd just remember to order ahead online next time.

TLDR: Finally got to try the famous breakfast sandwich on…read moretheir english muffin. My final verdict is that this is an excellent breakfast sandwich and one of the best english muffins I've had, but it's not life changing. That being said, quality, prices, and variety were all excellent so this bakery deserves a visit if you're near any of their locations in Napa, Yountville, or St. Helena! ------ FOOD: 1. CLASSIC BREAKFAST SANDWICH (4/5) Loved that this was made to order so came out super hot and fresh. They pre-cut the sandwich in half so that when you open it up, the cheese is nice and stringy. The muffin was extremely soft, I actually really liked the ham, and the egg was nice and fluffy. Two points of improvement: 1) the sandwich was surprisingly greasy / oily even though it didn't look it would be at all, and 2) the egg could probably use some more seasoning (salt, pepper, etc) because I found myself needing to use the Cholula hot sauce packet with every bite. 2. ENGLISH MUFFIN WITH JAM (3.5/5) I only tried this after it had been sitting out for 20 - 25 minutes and was already cold and a bit hard. It tasted totally different from the english muffin in my sandwich, and there wasn't enough jam in the muffin itself. As I had it I wouldn't get again, but I think I need to give it another chance fresh. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Located right next to Fatted Calf and Gotts by Oxbow market. If you're coming from Oxbow, you have to walk all the way around Gotts or there's a narrow alley on the other side of Gotts that is a shortcut straight to Modal Bakery * It's a small shop but with all the same variety you will find in the other Modal Bakeries. No indoor seating, standing room only for the line and for pick-up * All the seating is right outside and there are several tables available to claim * The overall feel is: neighborhood-bakery-casual ------ SERVICE: * Fine, standard service * They'll call your name when your item is ready, and then you get get utensils, napkins, and sauce packets yourself by the door on your way out. If you're sitting outside, I think they'll bring your order out to you if no one claims it inside

It was elevated with a silken egg Eclaire - Chocolate! It was chocolate on chocolate on chocolate! Instead of a vanilla pastry cream, it was filled with chocolate pastry cream Oh,Oh - Pillowy. A ho-ho but better! The outer chocolate shell had a snap to it. TKO - Simple. It is the bakery's version of an Oreo. This was very good if you don't like things that are too sweet, this is a great choice Kouign Amann - Heaven. Buttery, sugary, flakey! Bacon Cheddar Scone - Must get! This was delicious and savory! This is best eaten the same day. It became very dry after sitting around Oatmeal Pecan Cookie - As advertised. It was a delicious cookie without too much extra fluff. It was thin with crispy edges Epi Baguette - Crusty. There is more outer surface area, so there is a larger amount of crust to inner ratios. Fuhgeddaboudit - Worth a try. It was a rice krispy treat, with salted caramel, covered in chocolate. It is definitely worth a try if they have it available. This will not be in the display case! Drinks: Salted Caramel Latte - Not sweet. For it being a caramel drink, it was not very sweet which was nice!
