I'm not sure what to call Contimo because it's a bunch of different things. They've got deep southern roots so they do things with meat and bread that you'd think you know what to expect but then when you taste it, it's way better. Of all their biscuits sandwiches the Ham & Jam is the best expression of what a biscuit sandwich can be. Salty sweet and meaty but not overwhelming. Great 11am snack before wine tasting. They also have a sort of butcher shop where you can get things for cooking at home, typically sausages, pork or chicken with some southern flair, or Pork Verde which we've had over rice and just as a stew. Always excellent. They've also got a wine/beer selection that runs the gamut from casual to world class depending on your budget. Everything is good, and most you've never heard of which I love. They introduced us to Hanabi Beers at one of their events and we've been hooked ever since. We seek them out most weekends when we come up for the farmers market but if we were staying at a nearby hotel id stock my room from their shelves. read more

I was hoping for a sausage egg and cheese biscuit but I ordered the wrong thing and only got a plain sausage biscuit. This breakfast sandwich the way I ordered it was underwhelming. The biscuit itself was good and while the sausage was fresh made in house, it lacked any sort of flavor. Thus, the entire sausage biscuit sandwich was bland. And for the price, I don't think it's worth it. Maybe if I ordered the sandwich I was trying to get (biscuit, egg, cheese, sausage) it would set you back $13.75. And add $1.50 if you want to add jam. Absolutely loved it!!! I was visiting Napa with my grown daughters for three days, and we went to Contimo for breakfast on two of those days!! They are known for their biscuit breakfast sandwiches and they are fantastic. Fresh, delicious, filling and reasonably priced (in Napa!). We tried a variety of biscuit sandwiches, from egg and cheese, to bacon, egg and cheese, to sausage and cheese and my favorite, the ham and jam sandwich. Great blend of flavors with sweet and savory in all. They have specialty coffees and drip coffee. All good. They have side salads and we had the beet and Romano bean salad, which was very good, and they have cookies to go (if you want!). We had chocolate chip! My only issue with Contimo Provisions is that upon approach to the counter I start wavering on what to order -- not because I'm indecisive, but because everything here is so darn good it feels like a delicious multiple-choice exam. Always the finest ingredients, sometimes in unique combinations (not to be questioned), keep me in awe of these proprietors. Contimo is a best-of-Napa spot for a casual breakfast or lunch, Tuesday through Saturday. It's my favorite place for breakfast because their drop biscuit sandwiches are a savory hug that take me back to my southern grandmother's kitchen -- minus the lecture about elbows on the table. Anything made with their pimento cheese and house-cured meats is nearly impossible to pass up. Oh, and the mortadella sandwich! After savoring my selection, I usually do a bit of shopping and then head back to the counter, because I'm also a big fan of their house-made pâté and carefully curated, ever-changing provisions. A dream brewery to visit in the Napa area was closed during my visit, but the brewery excitedly recommended Contimo Provisions as a great place to get their beer. It's a specialty grocery and wine shop in downtown Napa, there's plenty of free parking nearby and also walkable to the visitors center and shopping. The interior is very modern with wine area and cashiers toward the front, a dining setting in the back. The clerk and I believe owner helped me right away and as luck would have it they received a fresh supply while I was in town. I came back an hour later and got to purchase two different bottles to share at home. It looked like they had amazing breads, cheese, and other lovely foods to pair with the region's wine. A cool place with lots of different things to offer! We came to grab some breakfast on our way out of Napa and really enjoyed the breakfast options they had. The biscuit ham and egg sandwich i got was really tasty and the jam really brought it all together. The store was clean with a butcher counter area and also a little nook that had miscellaneous items that includes seasonings and clothing too. The staff was courteous and friendly to us. Super kind! I walked into Contimo after seeing an Instagram photo on a SF Chronicle food writer's page showcasing their breakfast sandwich biscuit. It had to be good, right? It was, and oh so much more. As I walked up I was greeted by the employee behind the register who spoke to the menu like a pro. She was knowledgable and helpful in explaining the details of the menu and I selected the sausage biscuit sandwich and added egg. In the middle of the restaurant there's an area dedicated to thoughtfully-sources provisions. As someone who has very particular tastes when it comes to ingredients, quality and usefulness, I can say I noticed this restaurant took great care. I would have happily purchased one of each item and taken it with me if I was abundant in riches. Alas, I am not (yet). As I was perusing while waiting for my sandwich, an employee came up and initiated a conversation with me about the products I was looking at. The conversation didn't feel like someone just trying to get a sale, but genuinely someone who shared the same interests in these items as I did, and I loved it. Another employee later saw me eyeing some salsa and offered for me to try some from an open jar they had-it was fantastic. I ended up taking with me two pair of butter socks (!) and a jar of carrot cake spread. You heard me right. The food was incredible. The biscuit was moist and flaky, and the sausage tasted like it'd been made fresh that morning. The employees were attentive but not overly so, and all seemed to share the same passion in their food and the overall experience, which has got to be nearly impossible to cultivate. The chicken was thinly sliced, moist, and flavorful. The lemon spread was what really set this apart and made this one of the best sandwiches I've eaten. I ordered one to take home and bought a jar of the lemon jam. I also enjoyed fresh lemonade and a crispy chocolate chip cookie. While you order at a counter, they'll bring it to you if you are eating in. I liked the nice touch of a sign with House Rules letting you know they'll bus your table and where you can help yourself to water. They provide a WiFi password on that as well. I'll be back. Stopped by here to work remote while my wife was at a workshop. Located in downtown, it has a good size parking lot and plenty of seating, even a quiet section with no speakers for people working. I ordered a lemonade and cheese biscuit sandwiches which had bacon, eggs, and cheese. It was absolutely delicious. Biscuit had a nice crunch to it and the perfect amount of cheese. Little later for lunch I had their hot ham and cheese sandwich. I was a little hesitant since it had some mustard, but you could barely taste it. The ham had some nice crispy sides on it and a crunchy bread. Just like the biscuit, it was really good. Service was friendly by all the staff. Would eat or work here again for sure. read more

This is one of my personal favorite spots in Napa! The food is absolutely amazing for a quick breakfast or lunch. It's so flavorful and has undeniable quality that is hard to find elsewhere. My personal favorite item to get on the menu is the bacon molasses biscuit, it's the perfect balance of savory and sweet, not to mention the biscuit is so incredibly delicious just by itself! They have pretty solid drink options ranging from canned beverages to house made Arnold palmers and iced coffees. Along with a small retail section with a variety of different foods, snacks, and drinks. The staff are always very friendly and funny, it almost feels like you're speaking with a friend when you interact with them. The environment in the restaurant is also very nice and clean. I have been coming here for years. Enjoy the biscuits for breakfast. I have tried all the variations and my favorite is the ham and jam. Be patient as the wait is worth every bite. The biscuit has a nice tender, buttery, melt in your mouth crunch with the sweetness from the ham and ham. It is an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Just thinking about it-my mouth is watering. There are items sold for lunch that changes. Everything here is so good. They started out of a window at the Oxbow when I first had their food. I was so happy to see it expand to Downtown Napa. How did it take me so long to try this place?! I know it's almost like comparing apples/oranges but these biscuits give Model Bakery's English muffins a real run for their money. They are perfectly buttery and melt in your mouth. The biscuits are fairly customizable so you can add/subtract toppings as you'd like.
