For an $18 sandwich (Cajun chicken sando), I definitely had high expectations. I was very surprised and disappointed at how dry the sandwich ate. You can tell there was spice on the chicken because you get a little heat at the end, but it somehow didn't have much flavor. It came with a generous portion of chicken at least- which would have been a plus had it hit the flavor market . We were in town in Napa looking for a sandwich spot for lunch. After doing an quick research on Yelp, the Dutch Door was rated very high so we decided to choose that. We arrived for a late Saturday lunch. The restaurant is located in downtown Napa next to the Alpha Omega Collective Tasting Room. Parking is accessible in the free designated parking lots and street parking. At the Dutch Door there is no spot to eat inside as you just order your food from a door to a kitchen only space. Outdoor seats and tables placed on the sidewalk are the only dining area options. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered a Korean Fried Chicken Sando, Signature Supreme Dog, N' Awlins Cajun Tenders, seasoned fries and 2 Classic Plant Burgers. Everything was delicious and scrumptious. My Korean Fried Chicken Sando had a savory Korean sauce that had the right amount of kick. The crunchiness of the panko chicken and the kimchi went well together. One gripe I do have is that we ordered water in cups and we were not told that they charge for the water before hand. I found out only when I looked at my receipt. While I thought the food was good, I think there's still room for improvement. The Korean sando could have have more sauce. * Their fried chicken is excellent and crispy. The fries were good -- not life changing but definitely not bad. Could have maybe been more seasoned. * Almost all sandwiches come with fries, though I was able to sub out for a side salad. Unfortunately I didn't love the salad because it was drenched in olive oil and had a heft sprinkle of salty. I had to mop up the oil with napkins. * They also make their own ketchup I think. Stopped by for a quick healthy vegetarian meal in Sonoma. You order at the Dutch door and seating is available in a small outdoor patio on the street. Food was delivered to us in biodegradable plastic. The Zen Buddha bowl was attractive and tasty but difficult to toss with the small bowl filled to the brim. It was served with just spinach not of the super greens listed in the menu and the rice (didn't notice any quinoa) was cold, layered on the bottom. It didn't live up to my expectations. We stopped by on trip through Sonoma and wow were these sliders good! There is a line, so be prepared to wait. They have a small parklet to sit in, but it's quite limited. We tried the slider sampler with chicken and tempeh. Wow, the flavors were spot on! The sampler was definitely the best way to go. It was such a beautiful day yesterday that we chose the outdoor dining option. I had the Thai chicken wrap, which was fresh and flavorful. The Thai peanut sauce wasn't spicy at all. The chicken was organic and just as I like it--clean white meat without any chewy grey bits. The portion size was just right and I was able to eat my entire meal without having to take it home. The concept here is super cute/unique hence, the name, Dutch Door. There are a few tables available outside of the door and all the employees were so nice. Got the Korean Fried Chicken Sando and it was so delicious and super filling! You can tell that the sandwich was made fresh. It is incorporated with chicken crispers/tenders rather than a fillet, and is nicely coated with gochujang giving it a nice flavorful kick (don't worry, not spicy at all!). The bun was also nicely crisp on the inner side. The Cali chili fries on the other hand were slightly below average with the partial soggy fries and cheese clumps. Definitely skip these as they are not worth the price. It's a solid place overall though if you're looking for something moderately priced compared to the overpriced restaurants around the area. Seating is outdoor only, on a nice day, that's cool, on a cold or rainy day you should probably get it to go and eat in your car or at home.
