Had the brisket sandwich and bacon cheddar potato salad. It was fantastic!!! My complements to who ever smoked the meat. It was perfect with some caramelized onions on a sweet roll. The name is Smokehouse and yelp description is barbecue so I was expecting bbq food like ribs, pulled pork etc. Instead it's a large place with large tables and towards the back a counter to order sandwich. Few fridge with drinks and very limited amount of sides: green salad, coleslaw etc. I got the coleslaw and it's not bad at all. The sandwich I ordered: reuben, was okay. Too think I think but the flavor was there . Small pumpkin patch was right outside when we visited so parking was limited. read more

This spot is sort of hidden and located behind Hwy 121 not far from Hwy 29. They had just opened up for the day and I was the first to order; so it wasn't busy of course. But the inside had a pretty relax decor with tables to sit at, not to mention you can buy souvenirs such as local honey, jams, olive oil, etc. The lady who took my order was very nice and friendly. I placed a to-go order for their Carnivore sandwich which has smoked pulled pork, brisket, onions, BBQ sauce on a soft ciabatta roll. It was a very nice sized sandwich for $14.99. The pulled pork and brisket were tender; while the onions and sweet BBQ sauce gave it a nice flair. I also got a side order of potato salad that had amazing seasoning to it. Also got the pulled pork baked beans which were a little underwhelming unfortunately. The beans had great flavor, but for being called pulled pork baked beans there wasn't really much pulled pork inside. So I was a little disappointed with that. This spot by no means is bad, it's not, it's a totally fine option and I may have ordered wrong. The menu is a terrific lineup of good sounding sandwiches. I went with the spicy chicken and it had a lot of promise, however 2 things. 1) The smoked chicken was a plenty, but it was dry. I'm wondering: was it dry before they microwaved it or did nuking it completely dry it out? 2) They went a little cray with the aioli - that was basically the only thing you could taste. Not terrible, and it added some moisture into the sandwich, but it definitely was an aioli sandwich. 3) plenty of outdoor seating making it a super cute spot to dine and if ya have kids, let them run around. 4) inside is a big market space, but not a lot of inventory? It's a bit eccentric. 5) prices are super reasonable, especially in Napa. The sandwich was quite filling was $12. Well, that's five things. Overall, solid. Currently , there are three joints dedicated to barbecue in the Napa Valley that I'm aware of buster's barbecue in Calistoga New Kids on the block Stateline Road smokehouse and Stanley Lane smokehouse ! Had clients at the new spot over the weekend and they seem to really enjoy their experience ... however , I went back to Stanley Lane and got a rack of the ribs and just finished the leftovers and I truly enjoy what they do !!! I love how their pork rib rack just falls off the bone and having the sauce on the side allows you to spice it up as you wish ... though I really do enjoy the bacon cheddar potato salad. No barbecue at the moment with a sign posted that it is set to return in October. Just keep this in mind if you're planning to stop by and give them a call to confirm before making the drive. They're making regular deli sandwiches while barbecue isn't available, but it's nothing special and there are much better delis in Napa. They do have an impressive selection of cold beverages so if you need a cold drink break, this could be an ideal place to stop. Holy moley. I love pulled pork. So when I saw pulled pork grilled cheese on the menu, you know what had to order. It's delicious and definitely not for the faint of heart. Heaps of pulled pork and a couple slices of cheese, drenched in barbecue sauce. Prepare to get your hands dirty. It's worth it. The brisket beans also shouldn't be missed. Must have caught Irma on a bad day as she was not only rude on the phone, but also even more so in person. Tried to order 7 sandwiches for our group and was met with a strict rule - which was that they have a 5 sandwich limit because they don't "prep enough" (her words) to handle more than that per order. And where it starts to go downhill is when she said "don't even think about calling back to place a second order" over the phone. When picking these up, we asked again about this limit picking up 5 of the 7 sandwiches we wanted in person - another customer picking up his order overheard and offered to buy 2 sandwiches or order 2 sandwiches under his name for us to pay for them since he wasn't at his limit - as he just learned about it. Nice gesture on his part, but she made it very clear if it wasn't actually for him, she would not allow it. Not only a ridiculous business method, but also blatantly turning away sales. Honestly, we should have just canceled the entire order, but when asked where the nearest sandwich shop that didn't enforce such a rule that we can go to next time, she just threw her hands up and said "I don't know." Paid, tipped and left feeling like we got scolded for lunch. Cannot recommend this place any longer after this encounter and I prefer to try and support wineries and businesses in Los Carneros. Their website also says it's good for groups, but that apparently is not the case. Looked online to see if this limit was mentioned, but I'm not seeing it at the moment from our Google search. Drive a little further down and have the nice folks at Market take care of you instead. Probably the worst BBQ I've ever had. The brisket was dry, the Philly cheese steak was dry, everyone's meat was dry. This must be the only BBQ joint in Napa. I feel bad for writing this review but I feel obligated to let you all know, this is not good. I really feel like they smoke their meats, store it, and then pop it in the microwave. To sum it all up, my husband loves to BBQ, he puts in time, effort and enjoys his grills and smokers, so he know his stuff, I ENJOY his stuff. So coming here was such a disappointment. We intentionally went to different breakfast restaurants and found the waits to be super long, so we stumbled across this place in desperation, and dang it dale, it was not enjoyable. With "smokehouse" in the name, we were excited for some smokey, flavorful meats; unfortunately, that was not what we found. We ordered the Cheesesteak and the Pulled Pork. Both were under-seasoned and lacking any smoke flavor. I would describe them as very boring. The bread and dressings were fine but nothing g stood out. We also had the Chipotle Slaw which was dry and bland. The food was a decent value and the service friendly, but there is much better BBQ in the area so explore some other spots instead. read more

I LOVE Stanly Lane and will be a frequent visitor, as I work right around the corner. The vibe at Stanly Lane is unique and is basically a large shed with a southern farmhouse feel. They have refrigerators full of grab and go items, drinks, etc-- including my favorite-- Stuart's Orange Cream soda. Near the refrigerators, their menu is posted above the kitchen area and you order at the counter, but pay up by the entrance and gift shop area. On the particular day I visited, it happened to be jam-packed due to an 8th grade graduation ceremony nearby. It was pretty chaotic, but the staff remained friendly, attentive, and quick. I ordered the tri-tip and LOVED it. The bbq sauce was sweet and delicious and the meat was juicy and tasty. The price is fair and affordable. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu items-- particularly the pulled pork grilled cheese, which has my mouth watering just reading it on the menu. They are not open for dinner, which is a bit of a shame-- but with their "deli-style" vibe, it makes sense. They have plenty of indoor seating, as well as a large outdoor seating area with a farm-like feel. Can't wait to get back here soon! read more

I've been twice now and have been thoroughly satisfied both times, though my most recent experience is what really cementing Stanly Lane as a great Napa BBQ spot. I got the Carnivore Sandwich this time around, which came with 12 ounces of meat. Tri tip, brisket, smoked bacon, and pulled pork, smothered in BBQ sauce. Pro tip: the only produce that comes with it is grilled onions, but you can request the standard toppings to go with it at no additional cost. It was awesome! Super filling, super messy, and super satisfying. They gave me a box to take it home - just in case - but I persevered. Will I be getting it again? You bet. read more

I found this place on my way home from a meeting today and as soon as I pulled into this cute little spot and saw the smokers it smelled amazing! Cute little mom and pop shop ahead of the deli counter and great prices for for delicious eats! It smelled so good in the car I ate it up before I remembered to take pics!
