Been coming here for 40 years and love this bakery. Recently I notice blood sugar spike from eating their bread... no added sugar. Asked if enriched bread is being used. Bouchon affirmed. Enrich bread is not used in France let alone EU. While I still love their EPI, everything else has declined. Croissant is not crispy and fluffy inside. Stick to their breads. We've been to Bouchon bakery a few times now. There is usually always a line of people out the door past the sidewalk. Usually, it goes relatively fast if people know what to order. Once you get inside, you order at the display case. This recent trip, I noticed the prices have just gone up to $6.50 per large macaron. I enjoy their macarons; they are usually fresh and have good flavors. I recently tried a blueberry one, if you like more artificial blueberry you'll like it. I previously tried a gingerbread one and it was very strong on the ginger. The standard rotating flavors are good, but my favorite is salted caramel (which is not always there, sadly). I haven't tried the hot foods yet (sandwiches). Coffee is average. If you order those, you pay and then wait to get them. Bouchon Bakery is a bakery owned by the famous chef Thomas Keller, known for the legendary restaurant The French Laundry. It's located next to Bouchon Bistro where we wanted to go for lunch, but they couldn't accommodate our party of ten even with split tables. Because of that, we went to the bakery instead. When we arrived at 11am there was a long line out the door. It moved pretty quickly and the food came out pretty quickly. I think it could've moved even quicker if there were menus earlier in the line so I knew exactly what I wanted ahead of time instead of figuring that out when it was my time to order. My favorites were the chocolate croissant, cream cheese danish, bacon cheese scone, and the raspberry macaron. Highly popular bakery located in the Yountville/ Napa area. It's a small space and from what I know, there's always a line. But luckily, we were here at an odd hour on a weekday afternoon, and the line was minimal. The folks here were super friendly and helpful. I was here with my parents and they kind of knew what they wanted, but the folks are also kind of love us through some other options that we were interested in. For some of the basics, we got an epi baguette, a regular baguette, and I got some coffee. We picked up a few of the pastries to bring home some other family members as well. They also close early on weekdays (3PM) and close at 6 PM on weekends. There also tends to be a long line. Plus, some popular items tend to run out! Saw on social media that when in Napa this should be on your list to stop. It's about 6 miles from central Napa a straight shot and very easy to get to. Nestled in the cute town of Yountville it's centrally located next two other places to eat and have coffee. There isn't an actual parking lot but we were able to find parking quickly on the street for free. As most of the other reviews mentioned. There was a long line to get in and place your order. I would say we were in line 40 minutes or so. It moved pretty quickly though. A lot of people were chatting with each other in line Once you make it inside irs small but filled with so many treats! We ordered a little of everything and it was all delicious! There isn't a place to eat inside so you just take it and maybe put in the oven or microwave for a few seconds just to get it warm. My fav was the danish with raspberry and cream cheese! You can order coffee too if you would like. For a quick and easy lunch in Yountville, I would reccomend Bouchon Bakery. I found this online while searching for a quick lunch in Napa to have in between wine tastings. When you walk up, you may find a long line of people waiting. However, Bouchon Bakery has partnerships with online food delivery apps, and you have the option to "pick-up" the order. I did this, and it allowed me to skip the entire line and just pick up my food. I would reccomend this method if you see a long line outside the bakery. The inside was extremely clean and the staff worked quickly so that the line would move forward. I ordered the Ham & Cheese Baguette and the TKO for dessert. The sandwich was cold, and still very tasty, however I wish there was an option where I could have had it heated. The TKO was almost like a soft order, and VERY yummy. I came back to Bouchon Bakery twice in one weekend around 12:15pm on a Saturday, and 10:30am on a holiday Monday - both times were was a line that moved relatively quickly. The service is always quick and efficient, and you order first before paying at the register further down the line. Both times, we were lucky to grab the one open table outside - though typically people move on quickly after eating their goodies so tables open up relatively quickly. This time we tried a few new things: -cheese roll: this was pleasantly cheesy with a bit of a hearty crust on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside -oh oh: perfectly light, not too heavy or sweet dessert -blueberry muffin: this was nice and light, with a good amount of juicy blueberries, and not too sweet -ham and cheese baguette with tomato soup: we got this as part of the restaurant month offering, and were pleasantly surprised by how rich, creamy, and flavorful the tomato soup was! It came out pipping hot, and was nice and thick - perfect for both sipping on and for dipping our toasted baguette sandwhich in. The baguette was perfectly crusty without tearing up the top of your month, and with a good elastic pillowy-ness inside, and there was a decent amount of cheese and ham. Overall, a great meal, especially for the restaurant month price. The bakery definitely has done well with its branding and marketing, and the easy catering service makes it great for wine touring groups to pre-order lunch to have on the go, but my only complaint is the lack of variety in vegetarian sandwich options. The only sandwich I could get that was vegetarian was a red pepper sandwich, that came with pickled onion and cheese. The sandwich however was thin on the fillings and it was mostly a soft, fluffy baguette type bread. It would be nice if they offered egg salad sandwiches or a tofu sandwich so that us vegetarians can get some protein with our sandwiches as well. And with it being California, there would definitely be demand for that option, if not already. Before you freak out about paying $5.75 for each macaron, know that it's the size of your palm. They are super sized macarons which you could possibly share. Also, you're in Yountville where everything costs more. I was disappointed there were only 3 flavors: raspberry, pistachio, and salted caramel. I just read my review from 9 yrs ago stating that they were chewy and stale back then. They still are. However, the texture was different for each flavor, the pistachio one was more crisp, light and airy on the outside, and then moist and chewy inside, the way I like it. The other 2 were more stale and chewy all the way. The line was out the door and I waited 40 minutes, once you're inside you need to make quick decisions, so look online while you're waiting or send someone in to take pics of current offerings so you don't hold up the line while deciding what to order. I also had the Almond croissant and a moist, delicious cream cheese roll danish. I took to go a couple bags of the shortbreads. There was a long line out front (as expected), but I planned ahead and ordered online while at a nearby winery. By the time we finished our tasting and drove over, my order was ready. I was able to walk right up and grab it without waiting. That definitely made the whole experience even better. Our group's favorites were the Monkey Bread and Almond Croissant. We were planning on using it for turkey sandos, but enjoyed it with breakfast, toasted and slathered with freshly churned miso butter. Taste sensation! Expect a line. It moves fairly quickly, and the counter staff are pretty pleasant. You select the items you'd like, and like magic, everything is quickly boxed and bagged by the time you check out/pay. One word. YUMMM. My friend and I stopped by for a quick pastry prior to our wine tasting. Boy was I glad I found this place on yelp. Located in a small town, parking was fairly easy in the lot on the side, street, or lot across the way. The storefront and the interior was very cute! Not very big as it was the bakery storefront and the ovens in the back. They had plenty of patio tables and benches outside with trees for shade. We stopped by shortly after 9:45am on a Wednesday. There were only 1 person in front of us, but after we ordered and sat on a bench, the line started to form so we definitely beat the 10am rush. There were so many choices to choose from and it was pretty hard to choose because everything looked so delicious. My friend opted for a pain au chocolat ($6.55) and latte and I ended up getting an almond croissant ($7) and vanilla scone ($5.55) for later. As we sat and talked, we kept going back to how everything in the display case looked so good, especially the macarons. We knew that we weren't going to be able to eat it prior to our wine tasting, but we discussed the possibility of going back after so we could pick some up and bring back to the house since it needed to stay cold. The croissants were so flaky and very pleasant. The almond croissant had the perfect ratio of sweetness and butter. Thanks for also not skimping on the almonds! The vanilla scone I had the next day and I was great! For a second day scone, it did not taste like one for sure. It was also not sweet so I was very happy about that as well. After our tasting, we decided we HAD to go back. Good thing I got a vanilla scone the first time because when we went back at 1:30pm ish they were sold out. I grabbed a salted caramel macaron ($5.75) and a chocolate almond croissant ($7.30) for my boyfriend and my friend grabbed a chocolate and vanilla macaron. All large macarons were $5.75 each. They had a smaller version gift box if you wanted that was $24.30 for 6 small ones. The macaron was so good! The salted caramel was FILLED with caramel and it just hit the spot after a long day (I had it for dessert at night).
