Chicken Chorizo Skillet with poached eggs and a house-made flour tortilla!
Kevin E.

UPDATE! We were just in the Cafe for brunch and they have a special that deserves mention: Chicken Chorizo Skillet. It comes with house made tortillas and two eggs any style. This dish is next level delicious and worth a drive. If you delay and don't see it on the menu, ask for it. We need this to become a regular!!

This place was cute and our food was good! I had the Benedict with a side chocolate chip pancakes. my latte was watery so not a big fan of the coffee and i think one of our orders didn't get put in so it was a little late but no biggie. the food was good and would go again!

Great spot for a tasty meal. Huge menu included breakfast items all day. The garden omelette was delicious! The spinach quesadilla filled with cheese was also very good.

We had a nice experience here. Food was absolutely wonderful. Service was prompt and professional, although perhaps slightly rushed and to-the-point, although personally I like that. There was no wait for a table, although it was reasonably busy for a weekday. I bet on weekends it's absolutely hopping! The breakfast quesadilla was delicious and my BF was happy with his huevos rancheros. The one thing I wasn't completely satisfied with was the coffee - not sure if it was just a bad batch, because some of the other reviews mentioned it was good, but I thought it was pretty bad. Not undrinkable, but for $11 for two cups, I would like it be at least be decent. It's not a cheap restaurant, but the food is great, the portions are sizable, and we are in Napa, after all. We'll be back for sure, but we'll skip the coffee, and you should, too :)

Omelette with potatoes

We came here for breakfast our last day in Napa. I had the huevos rancheros and it was fine. The food was fresh, the chips were crispy, my egg was cooked over medium and the beans and rice were good. Next time I'll try another dish. My friend had an omelette with potatoes, also good. We enjoyed the coffee as well. The servers were friendly and the space was crowded.

Loooove Sunshine Cafe! We came here after a hike and saw the great reviews and had to try it. The decor is so cute! And it's surprisingly big on the inside in addition to having a lot of outdoor seating. 10-15 minute wait on a weekend to be seated wasn't bad at all! The service was awesome and quick :) my friend got the meat lover omelette and I got a couple eggs and bacon. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Definitely recommend.

nothing better then a classic american diner with good food with good portions and good price. they was busy in a tuesday morning. definitely worth stopping by.

Breakfast Quesadilla

A traditional American breakfast/lunch spot with big portions :) We had the chicken waffle, biscuits with gravy, and a quesadilla. Everything was tasty, with the waffle being particularly fresh and well-textured. Quesadilla was marked as hot dish, but it wasn't. The service was quick and efficient, and the outdoor seating was great. Also, there is available parking lot.

Raspberry and peach mimosa.

Cute little spot with farm vibes. They are quite busy. Wait staff was nice but they are so busy it's hard to be attentive. Mimosa wasn't sweet, Boozy hot chocolate was strong, so beware. Lol. Some of the best potatoes I've ever had. Biscuits were a bit hard and lacking flavor. Overall nice cafe.

Rainy days calls for brunch in a cozy space. That is exactly what Sunshine Cafe is. Now, don't be discouraged by the wait time, a good 20 or so but it's worth every bite. It has been awhile since I was last here but nothing has change. The quality of food is still as excellent as ever. My mother and I had a little brunch date. We ordered pancakes, (2) eggs any style and the chicken and waffles. The only comment I have is that the chicken on the chicken and waffles was a bit...herby for me? As in the spices just seemed sour to me. The waffles were amazing. We had asked for extra tea and one of the team members shared that it would cost extra. We asked another team member and they never mentioned any additional charges. We double checked the receipt at the end and no additional charges so there might be room for staff knowledge. Other than that, good experience and good food.

The coffee cake, delicious. No sour cream. Disappointed customers.
Victoria N.

I'll start with the positives -- the jam was absolutely amazing, and the coffee cake wasn't too shabby either. Those were definite highlights. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. I expected it to be busy on a Sunday morning and was willing to give some grace, but the consistency just wasn't there. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, which is understandable, but once seated I would have expected better follow-through. * My eggs (ordered over medium) came out extremely runny. * Coffee didn't arrive until 15 minutes after being seated. * Every time I asked for something, the waitress would rush off before I could finish the request, and items either came very late or not at all (for example, I never received the sour cream I asked for). * Pancakes I ordered on the side showed up after the rest of the meal was finished. They were comped, which I appreciated, but the timing made them pointless. * Biscuits arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of the meal as well. On top of that, when it came time to pay, we had asked for part cash/part card, but the bill was split incorrectly. By the time we left, it had been nearly two hours for a simple breakfast, which was frustrating and disappointing. Overall, the food had bright spots (the jam and coffee cake especially), but the slow, inconsistent service really overshadowed them.

Sunshine Burger and Banana-Walnut Pancakes

I've been here twice now and the food is pretty good! I don't usually come out to Napa but this is one of the spots on my list for brunch with the girls! Whenever I come here I love looking around at all the cute decor. I've tried the banana foster French toast and pancakes and both were tasty, but if I had to choose I would go with the French toast. My friends and family have tried their burgers and chili rellenos and said they were also pretty good. Both times I've been they had the sweetest waitresses as well. Will definitely be back to try some different dishes!

This very popular counter service cafe is very popular for good reason. The food is amazing. I am so happy to we chose to go here while visiting Napa for a few days. It's worth visiting Napa just to go to Winston's in my humble opinion. The waits can be long to get in and order and maybe even long to get a table, but it's worth it. Also, this place is a great community establishment and helps out the local pet shelter to help find homes for dogs. They even have coloring pages with crayons of adoptable dogs at the Napa shelter. My wife and I ordered two breakfast places and two pastries on our visit. The salmon salad plate was our healthy plate, which was really tasty and fresh. The true standout for me is their pork Belly Loco Moco. I never seem to love a loco moco plate, but I like them. They are typically served with a beef patty. Let me just say that this is a perfect plate of food. The pork belly melts in your mouth and has a delicious hoisin sauce drizzled on it. The eggs and pickled veggies god great with the pork belly, but there is also this wonderful gravy on the plate which is like a chicken gravy. It's so ridiculously good. I can't say enough good things about this plate and how much it works together in balance and harmony. We also tried their toasted Coconut donut, which is a glazed yeast donut with toasted coconut flakes. It was very good! But the dessert standout was the chocolate pistachio muffin. This was so moist, buttery and rich with chocolate and nuttiness. So delicious! I also want to add that I love the ambiance of Winston's and its lovely decor. This is a real gem of a place!

Our table wasn't properly cleared , some dishes were removed before our food arrived, but the remaining ones weren't taken away until after, and the table was never wiped down between. As for the food, I'd give it a 3/5. The chorizo in my omelet was overly salty, not in a seasoned way, but genuinely too much to enjoy. The potatoes also tasted like they had been fried multiple times, possibly to reheat, which left them with an off flavor.

Despite being busy as always, the line still moves quickly, and there is plenty of space at the outdoor picnic tables to wait for your order. The picnic tables do get pretty covered in crumbs, but nothing a napkin and a quick swipe can't fix - do be careful of the many birds lurking to grab a bite though. While my favorite is still the plain toasted english muffin with butter and apricot jam, I have also tried the chipotle muffin - which came on nicely toasted sourdough and not an english muffin (my fault for not reading more carefully); this was a hearty, tasty and great breakfast sandwich! The bacon was thick and not too chewy or burnt, and the chipotle sauce brought the tomato, egg and avocado together perfectly, though I'd love a bit more sauce. We also tried the honey butter cornmeal cookie which was amazing - not too sweet but full of honey and corn flavor with a fun chewy texture and mouthfeel. Anyways, definitely come for the english muffins, but everything else is worth trying too :)

There are outdoor benches with umbrellas, providing just enough shade to enjoy your food without melting. It was not too crowded at that time. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and were seated pretty quickly. My husband had the Boon Fly Chicken & Waffle and I was basic and had the Two Eggs Any Style. My meal came with hash browns, wheat toast, and chicken apple sausage (you can choose applewood smoked bacon or country breakfast sausage). The portions were generous and my husband liked the crispiness of his chicken. We also ordered the Nutty Carajillo and Best Coffee Ever for drinks. I recommend ordering the Nutty Carajillo (you can thank me later)! The service was AMAZING. We visited Napa for a quick wedding anniversary trip and Boon Fly Cafe was our last stop before heading home. I'll admit, I was a little worried before booking because of some of the reviews I had read. But after staying here, I can honestly say those concerns didn't match my experience at all. Whatever issues others may have had, they certainly weren't part of our stay. The location is hard to beat. Being right along the Napa River makes a huge difference. Morning coffee by the water with the walking path just steps away sets the tone for the whole day. It feels peaceful and tucked away, yet you're still within easy walking distance to downtown Napa's tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling overly fancy or pretentious. The bed was great, the bathroom was well-appointed, and I appreciated the little details that made the stay feel thoughtful. If you can get a river-facing room, it's worth it. The outdoor spaces are really what make this place special. There's something about sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the river drift by, that just feels very "Napa." Service was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The staff really stood out -- especially the woman working in the café in the morning. She was warm, upbeat, and genuinely made the start of the day feel special. It's those small personal touches that elevate a stay from good to memorable. Another big plus: they offer free EV charging, which was a great perk and made the trip even more convenient. It's always nice to see properties thinking about sustainability and guest convenience at the same time. It also shares a parking lot with San Francisco's famous The Slanted Door, which makes grabbing an incredible meal ridiculously easy. Having that level of dining right next door is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a luxury mega-resort, this isn't that -- and that's a good thing. I only had one bag but my friend had a few and it was a hassle. We booked two queens and requested river view, however BUYER BEWARE none of the queen rooms view river. All of them face a parking lot. When we checked in we first went to the queen room and we had to go. For $600 a night to face a parking lot and on outskirts of downtown it was the same quality as a Best Western. Honestly I've been to better Best Westerns. We decided to move rooms to get the view so we ended up sharing a King. My friend was going to use sofa bed but when she pulled out the bed it was made and had a ton of hair on it (maybe pet hair?). Some pros: The river walk area is nice. View of Napa river right off bar could be a nice place to unwind. Another pro is that the manager was super kind and helpful to my friend when we moved rooms, even walking her to the room to ensure it was ok. Overall the price is terrible for quality, but the staff are helpful and kind and they are the reason for any stars.
