I would definitely give them a 4.5 stars for my visit. Went with egg white omelette added avocado. Over all generous portion but not out of control, veggies were solid. Had hashbrowns for my side, which were totally cooked properly, one suggestion easy on the salt, lol. Still ate ever bite. Location is dope, got the "mom n pops" vibes. Service was what I would expect, very attentive, smiles, and very kind. Solid spot for breakfast, menu is vast enough to come and try multiple things. We found this on yelp and decided to give it a try based on customer reviews. A smaller restaurant in a small strip mall on Jefferson Street in Napa. It is clean and gives you the old diner feel. We split the chicken fried steak and it was plenty! Two perfectly scrambled eggs and tasty hash browns to match. Service was good and food came out timely. I have decided that i dont have the will power to be vegan full time, so I have committed myself to 90ish percent of the time. That being said this is the perfect breakfast, A pork Chile verde omelet with country style potatoes, and sourdough toast. I could have it every single day of my life. Perfect its incredible. This diner was open the day after Christmas when many other locations were closed! Our party of 6 ordered both breakfast and lunch items and everyone had a good meal, with generous portions. Our drinks were refilled as needed, and all the servers helped each other and were happy and friendly. A simple, no-frills, great local place. It's not fancy, but you get a lot of food for the money, the service is friendly, and I haven't had anything but great food here. Literally my only complaint is the rose bushes in front between the parking lot and the entrance to the restaurant. I had to walk around several cars to get in. Yes, it's a silly complaint, but I couldn't just leave a perfect review now, could I? Chilaquiles verdes came with toast and crispy delicious hash-browns in addition to an indulgent pile of tender chilaquiles topped with two eggs and grand dollops of guacamole, sour cream and homemade pico de gallo. The classic two-egg combo breakfast with thick sliced bacon and one large pancake arrived as requested, crispy bacon, eggs over easy, biscuit on the side. It didn't have the wow factor of the chilaquiles, but hit the spot. My fellow diner concluded that when we return (soon!) he'll skip the pancake for hash-browns. Gritty, raw, dinner style breakfast cafe. Me and my boys used to go to the Soscol Cafe when we were in the mood for a greasy, diner style breakfast. It was tiny, you always had to wait outside until a table was ready, and had an unintended locals only vibe. Then one day a truck drove through the restaurant, demolishing a good portion of the building, and closing the cafe for good. Owner Javier Cejas bounced back and opened both the Jefferson Cafe, and Imola Cafe! I ordered an Omelette with avocado, spinach, and queso fresco, and selected hash browns and sourdough toast for sides, as well as a jalapeño on the side. As you will see in the pictures the omelette was huge, eggs cooked perfect, fluffy and buttery! It was generously stuffed with sautéd spinach leaves and perfectly ripe avocados. It took some time, but i are it all, and was impressed overall. I was reluctant to order the hashbrowns, as I wasn't in the mood for too much grease, but I took a chance... it worked out. The hash towns were perfect, absolutely perfect, crunchy and fluffy, but greasy, but far from dry! With the addition of a little salt and pepper I was in heaven. The toast and coffee, were just fine as well. I was not just satisfied, but impressed as the entire meal presented as fresh, tasty, not greasy, and very satisfying! My mom and I came in here for the first time yesterday. She had biscuits and gravy... Not impressed. I had, what was supposed to be corn beef hash. Instead what I got was quarter inch thick, relatively tough, strips of corn beef mixed with onions and potato chunks. The most disappointing breakfast I've had in two decades! Ordered the Napa omelette, requested crispy. hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. When the meal arrived, you could see that the hashbrowns were not cooked to order. They were extremely pale, and tasted oily, along with the texture of mashed potatoes. The omelette was a good size and presented well on the plate. Biting into, it lacked cheese, and the meat tasted funny. My sourdough toast was soggy, and drenched in liquid butter. In this meal, the coffee was the only thing that was ok, not great. I told the waiter, and he summoned the manager. After retelling the story to the manager, he looked at me with a blank look, and asked if I'd like something else? My appetite was shot at this point and I declined. My wife had french toast with scrambled eggs and loved it too. We found that the prices were quite reasonable too, especially considering that this is Napa. I went here for breakfast. In town for a wedding and was looking for a nice breakfast to start the day. First thing was it's in a little bit of a run down area, but I'm comfortable with that, not a problem. Second, maybe it's what I ordered ( biscuits and gravy) two eggs and a sausage patty. I was told the gravy has sausage in it . Basically, the gravy was flour and water mix with a micro amount of sausage. Major disappointment. It tasted like flour. Awesome breakfast. We have visited Napa many times and this is the first time here and won't be our last. It's a small little hole in the wall diner with all the home feels. The breakfast menu selection was plentiful and had multiple options to choose from. We were drawn here because the size of the portions and the price. Compared to many local Napa brunch spots, this place was very affordable. We ordered the Machaca plate and the Egg White Omelette. Both did not disappoint. The portions came out as expected and we're delicious. I could not finish my meal, so we took home for leftovers. Pro Tip: next time I would even split one of the plates and then add something on the side (ex. Pancakes, toast, etc) This place is one of the best breakfast secrets in Napa. Oh, Jefferson Street Cafe, don't you ever change. This is a great little hole in the wall, greasy spoon diner. It's cheap. The portions are gargantuan. Mainly locals, with ads for local businesses on the tables and lots of loud conversation between tables. The food is always solid, quick, and reasonably priced (particularly for the portions). They get VERY crowded on the weekends, so come early, do a to go order, or use my trick -- grab a seat at the counter and avoid the wait. What to order? Go for the Mexican breakfasts. The machaca is on point, but 99x out of 100 I go for the verde chillaquiles -- best in town. read more
