What a quaint bookstore with so many hidden gems amidst the rolling bookshelves. I could've spent hours here meandering through the chosen knick knacks, sipping on a soy milk latte from their cafe, and burying myself in a fable or two. A close friend of mine who is a Napa native recommended this locally owned bookstore. It's in a new building at the end of the cute downtown. It has mostly new books and some great quality used books. To the left of the cafe is a huge children's section that includes a great Spanish selection. My kid & I sat down on the cozy rug and chair to read and picked our favorites to buy. We were never rushed out which I appreciated. My husband found several books and they had a great selection of gifts and unique finds. The staff were super friendly and I saw one helping a young adult find a book. They have a gender neutral restroom in the kids section. There are some small tables and a few chairs inside and outside. I look forward to coming back next time I am in Napa! read more

Wonderful little independent bookstore! I first came across them a couple years from a friend's book club. Very welcoming and cozy vibe in there. The shop owner Naomi is super nice! Shameful secret. I'm not a big reader anymore and borrow most of my materials from the library. But I still loved browsing. Recently there was a book debuting that I didn't want to be waiting as number 90 in line to borrow on Libby. So I ordered it from Napa Bookmine! (The same friend mentioned previously told me that Napa Bookmine ships!) When the price of the book is the same at Napa Bookmine and the big box stores why wouldn't you support the small business? The online inventory was accurate. The book I wanted only had one in stock. They had both a hardcover version and the audiobook. I went for the media shipping which is only $5! They had really good communication! I got an email for the order, a second email telling me tracking info, and when the shipment was on the way! The package arrived perfectly. No damage. All around awesome experience with Napa Bookmine! Definitely check them out! read more

Such a cool book store! Something for everyone, and their used section is easy to navigate, and there are so many books to choose from. They also have new books, children's books, and all topics/types from A to Z. Also, books and coffee go well together, they do coffee too! read more

New and used bookstore in Napa. They appear to be mixed in together, but used books have a barcode sticker on the back. Not their fault but the price of new books is wild. $30 for a new fiction hardback is nuts. The price of used books is a little high in my opinion. Example, $20 for an older hardback Stephen King. Some random other used fiction paperbacks were $8-15. My local used book store is about $3-5 for hardbacks, $1-2 for paperbacks. Maybe you're just paying for the location. Also, their selection is not great because it is a small space. Example, I was looking for Dean Koontz and they had 2 paperbacks under "horror" and maybe 5 paperbacks under "thriller". The man has written like 200 books so I was hoping for a bigger selection. Oh well. Coffee counter and displays of book-themed trinkets inside. Street parking. 3.5 stars. read more

We went walked in right after their power went out. The staff kindly informed us that it was out but assured us it would be back shortly. They were super welcoming and the energy inside seemed light as with the customers. Staff were very nice. On their cafe side I ordered the matcha & passionfruit tonic, it was not very sweet. This is one of those magical book places and people that exists. The staff is not only super friendly but kind. They take extra time to talk to the book shoppers. They help and give discounts for teachers and librarians (me). This is absolutely amazing. They have wonderful choice for children from stuffed animals and books. I have rediscovered my love for reading and although I def recommend going to your local library and checking books out, I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy to have books on my bookshelf. I try to limit myself to one book every time I'm here but since I am an avid reader- I come here far too often as of late. I really enjoy going to Napa Bookmine. They have a great selection of books and I can always count on someone there to help me find whatever I'm looking for. On a couple of occasions they've ordered a book in for me and shipping is so quick, I just pick it up a few days later. Their new store is across the back of the police station on 3rd street under the new condo's, it's such a fun space WITH a coffee bar! There's also seating too. This is the best bookstore in Napa, and their cafe is great as well. If you are looking for a great selection of new and used books, the best science fiction/fantasy section in Napa, and a cafe with coffee and pastries, this is the place. Add to that employees who read and can make great recommendations, an assortment of knickknacks that make great gifts, plus store credits that you get when you sell them your (gently) used books, and you will not need to visit another bookstore again. read more

Whenever I travel - I always have to visit any local bookstore so I was very excited when I found out that Napa Bookmine had two locations - a brick and mortar building and a smaller stall in the Oxbow Market. The brick and mortar bookstore - let's just say I could have spent the whole day browsing through all of their shelves. They sell both new and used books and they have a really great selection. I was able to find multiple books to take home and add to my collection. They have everything from non fiction to cookbooks to almost every genre of fiction. Seriously it was such a beautiful store full of books! I love the employee recommendations and even ended up geabbing one of those. The lady who rang me and my friend up was very friendly and she even had some great recommendations on places that we could visit for the rest of our visit. We ended up browsing through the stall they have at the Oxbow Market and they did have a good selection there but if you are looking for a great bookstore experience - make sure to go to the actual store itself. read more

Excellent local bookstore with both new and used stock! So I go to a lot of bookstores and what was impressive to me about this space was that despite all the shelving and stock, it somehow still seemed airy and not cavelike. Good job! Staff was great and not pushy. Clearly many customers were regulars based on the conversations. They also carry some great book related accessories and were event getting some costume pieces in when we were there. Great location to browse and find your new favorite book. read more

Heard about this place in a news article on facebook. I was touched by their story and saddened by the rent increse they face as a sad part of most of the rent horrors we in california face. As a community to stand strong and support the need for business, i was warmed to be welcomed by the pleasant place and remember bying my sons first book visiting in napa many years ago from the Oxbow location. He was so excited, as i was happy to get him to want a book even though he had grown out of books at the time. I hope they are around for years to come! read more

Another excuse to visit Napa-- Napa Bookmine! This bookstore is quaint as can be, while having a fantastic selection, not to mention extremely reasonable prices. It's well organized, with helpful/friendly cashiers, and plenty of character for such as new shop. I'm a sucker for cookbooks and was pretty impressed with the unique range of used and new books in this section. I made it home with an eight dollar copy of the Tassajara cookbook (which I've been wanting to get my hands on!) in mint condition as well as a few other exceptional cookbooks and a beautiful coffee table art book on the "spirtual" in art. They do NOT buy books.They give you store credit HOWEVER you can only use 50% of the credit when getting a book the other 50% MUST be paid in cash.So,say you have $125 credit and want a book that costs $30,wellllll,you can use $15 of your credit and pay $15 in cash NO EXCEPTIONS.This used to be a common practice in the late 1970s/early 1980s but due to people hating this system it was done away with by most booksellers,well,these ladies never got the memo. I will no longer take books to them ( they are also slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww going through the books you bring in for PARTIAL credit )but since it's in Napa ( nice to have a bookshop in Downtown Napa ) I will support them by buying books from them but if they were not in Napa,I would not make a special drive to see them. I URGE them to change their buying/credit policies if they expect to stay in business. As for the selection,pretty good,decent prices. read more
