I typically shop using the app and use curbside pickup because it is convenient. I do get a lot of missed items because it's "out of stock" but I know it's not. I came to shop in store on a Saturday morning. It's definitely different when you shop for yourself rather than relying on their employees to shop for you. I probably should shop in person more often because you get to browse what's actually available and find what you need. I've been searching for specific items for a while and finally found bloom pop winter pomberry, and wide leg pants in my size (the pants were in disarray. I was patient enough to go through it) plus I found some clearance hidden gems. There is so much clearance, I love it. It was a great shopping day! I was also able to check out their party section, and their aisles are very organized. Good to know they still sell piñatas. Best times to go are early mornings, less crowds! read more

I've been coming to this store since I moved to American canyon 9 years ago and I've never experienced discrimination & blatant racism like I have this week. Both encounters were unprofessional and quite frankly disgusting. I went in on April 29th to purchase quite a few items and I typically go to self check out, but because I had so much, I decided to go into a lane. There was a Caucasian lady who was helping me and the conversation started off ok we got on the topic of Disney movies since I had a few Disney themed items for my kids. Then she very comfortably stated how much she didn't like the recent little mermaid movie due to her being black! I could not believe how comfortable she was saying this to me and in a manner in which she wanted me to agree with her. To say the least it not only made me uncomfortable but if you have such an opinion like THAT keep it to yourself. I'm an African American Irish American female and I was very upset. Fast forward to today I stupidly took my chances again to buy my kids swimsuits and I went to self check out and I also was purchasing a backpack. I asked the lady who was overseeing everything if she could take the sensor off and she very nastily and rudely told me after I pay for it. The whole time I'm scanning every item and paying with my hard earned money like I always do! As much money as I've spent at this particular this store over the years I will not be back. After spending over 25 years in corporate retail I have to say that since the previous great Manager Muhammad left his store this store has gone down the gutter. Mohammed was a great manager since he left. I have never seen a manager, walking the store or consulting with the existing customers on the front end or throughout the store. If you have any experience in retail or business you can see that the place is ripped in a lot of places. The checkout endcaps are empty..They did a revamp for the store and moved the aisles all around and then put in these terrible check stands. There are actually self checkouts so that they don't have to pay cashiers to stand there and check you out. Instead they'll have clerks standing upfront with handheld watching to make sure that you don't steal anything.. so the store has no shrink. That all they do, No customer service. That conversion is definitely a negative. I was just down at the large walmart supercenter in American Canyon and they took out 85% of the self checkout and went back to regular check stands ... a very positive and smart move. As I said I was in the neighborhood store on Serino dr. and I was checking out the produce to purchase and make a salad. All the lettuce that they had on the shelf was rotten. All brown wilted and old there wasn't even tomatoes available in the produce department. I had to go to another store to buy these items. I did go upfront to the self checkout. I was buying one item and I asked the clerk that was monitoring everybody's purchases about, when will the produce load come? Her response was "you'll have to ask somebody that gets paid more money than me" I thought what intelligent reply! Did you ever think about maybe calling somebody and asking them ? Isn't that what you would normally do when a customer is asking you a question and you don't know the answer you would contact somebody that would know the answer ?? While living in Napa i frequented this fabulous store almost every week. They had almost everything i needed. I appreciated the long hours they were open so i could shop late into the night. If you ever need something from a locked box do not count on them to come and unlock it, I have been waiting in the liquor department for over 20 minutes and each worker that passed me tells me they are going to get someone, I have been ringing on the door bell for somebody to come but nobody has. If you are going to lock things ups at least make sure someone is going to open it. My rating on shopper is going down due the Walmart not doing their job. Last week I came in and the same thing happened to me in women's hygiene it took 15 minutes just for somebody to walk by and tell me they were helping someone else and would come help soon it took me waiting 25 minutes for them to finally come and open the door. Zero should be the score. I went to our local Walmart. I was in the men's department I needed two pairs of wrangler cargo pants. I push the red button, with no response. I'm there for over 30 minutes, no one shows up. I did notice a person with the blue vest on, and ask for help to unlock the pants. She said she was on break I wouldn't respond for the help or get anybody to help. Now today I went back at maybe a better time. Again I push that red button for help, again no one show up. As I push that red button, I also call the Walmart operator, I told her I been pushing the red button, and no one would show up. Until as the blue vest person was walking by, and I got her attention. She try to open the lock shelf , that had the items need. As she did help me, also they are short staff. I don't know why, it's not my fault. read more

I'm really disappointed with the customer experience at this Walmart location. The store opens as early as 6 AM, yet the customer service desk doesn't open until 9 AM -- which makes it extremely inconvenient for people like me who work during those hours and can't just take time off to handle returns or questions. On top of that, I think the employees could use more training on the products they sell. I went to the bakery section to ask if they sell buttercream, and the first employee told me she didn't know and to ask someone else. The second person said they no longer get the buttercream from the deli but wasn't sure beyond that. I even asked another employee who also said she didn't know. This was around 7:50 in the morning -- the store had already been open for almost two hours. It's frustrating to see multiple employees unsure about basic product information and not greeting or engaging with customers. It really felt like there was a lack of customer care and attention. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback to improve employee training and make customer service more accessible for those of us who shop early. read more

Never have I been disgusted as much as I was when I visited last week an a mouse came running and squeaking from under the bananas in produce towards the tortilla's near the meats. I've been frustrated with Walmart for quite some time. Too often I've gone after checking the inventory online only to find it is out of stock. My last trip I had a rather short list but after dashing across the store madly I was winded and items were out of stock. These are not big ticket items, just laundry treatments and such. I bit the bullet, returned the items in my cart, and headed off to the Target where finding items was easy and they were in stock. After digging deeper I realized Walmart was listing items in stock when really you had to order online. Now this is my bad for mistaking the listing but it didn't take long to realize the only practical way to use the online system is to pay for the membership fee to reduce the cost of delivery so I can wait for my stuff. Zero stars. Begrudgingly stopped at this Walmart again because I needed cat food and the place I normally buy the brand I use was sold out needed a few other items. I picked up some white grapes and some red grapes when I got to the register and they make you use self check out the green grapes cannot be found and the register immediately locked it up until an employee came. She tried to enter. The code tried to scan the barcode on the bag and it wouldn't come up. I did a search for green grapes. They're all the same price $2.37 a pound the customer service person would not let me purchase them by doing a search because the code on that specific bag would not scan - ridiculous. Earlier in this trip, I stopped in the men's clothing department to look for some jeans. I wanted to try them on, but there was nobody at the fitting rooms. I found one of those buzzers where you ring it to get somebody's attention in the jeans aisle, where they have certain items locked up. I waited and waited and waited, and nobody showed up , I left the jeans behind. I went to the customer service counter because I'm so exasperated shopping at this Walmart every trip that I go there, there's a problem either with the check out or can't get any help trying to find an item. In the grand scheme of things, I know that my experience doesn't matter to an oligarchy like Walmart, but at least we have Yelp where we can vent. read more

This store is always packed but, usually, I can find everything I need. I usually already know what I want and it's rarely a hassle to find a worker to ask a question. Now customer service is iffy, both on the floor and at the registers, but usually the cashiers are a bit nicer. The lines are atrocious and you will have to wait a bit, but it's usually worth it. read more

Do not try on clothes at this Walmart! The workers will try to open your fitting room door without even knocking. This Walmart services and provides for a large number of people in the American Canyon area. But the logistical aspect of the production process is horrible and also the check out is the worst. Take for instants they have 25 self checkouts and 11 of them are not in service or working. If this store is going to use that as their main source of check out there needs to be at least 80 to 75% it seems like this store is being used as a test van, or a new pilot program at the Walmart industries. On the way by the Walmart American Canyon I realized that I needed a couple things that most likely would have been sky high price wise at the hotel which we were staying at. I think that this is probably the largest Walmart that I'd ever been in. 2021...Thank you for finally showing your face.....cause I was starting to suffer from covid-19 fatigue. Walmart was one of my few saving graces during the turmoil that was 2020. I had never ordered so much online in my life and with the convenience of easy no-contact pickup Walmart easily became my favorite store to grocery shop this past year. I did take a chance on after x-mas shopping here and im grateful I did. My mom and I got up extra early in order to make the line we knew would be there even with Covid restrictions in place. Took us an hour to check-out. Walmart cut down on labor and replaced most cashiers with self check-out aisles. Imagine doing a self check-out on a cart-full of groceries? It will take time, add to that the confusions and errors. Instead of expediting check-out, it just slows down the process. The line in the self check-out was as terrible as the assisted cashiers lane, so we opted to stay in the cashiers lane. This is a Walmart Supercenter so its huge! I love shopping here before because this is like my one stop shop. They almost have everything here. But since they got rid of most of their cashiers, checking out had been a challenge. Bad timing because its the busiest shopping season. And let us not forget, we are still in the middle of a pandemic. With flu and Covid strains going around, you need people to be in and out of the store quick. Not packed in a bottleneck behind the check-out lane, its not safe. One lady behind me needed to leave so just walked away and left her cart full of stuffs on the side. Walmart need to bring back their cashiers to assist and expedite check-out. Walmart is just making it a no brainer to shop at Amazon instead. Shopping in Amazon is more convenient, safer (pandemic) and I dont have to stand in line for an hour to check out, instead Amazon will deliver it right at my doorstep. I don't recommend the curbside pick up feature here. Guaranteed a 20-60 minute wait in which case you're better off going inside and just shopping. Also, if you want an item that's in a locked case... god speed. There is no one there to help you and the person that you finally flag down doesn't have the keys and is in no hurry to find who has them. read more

I used to like shopping at this Walmart but suddenly the employees mostly the older one were so rude. I was waiting in the cosmetic department for an item to be unlocked. An employee told me she would help me right after she helps another customer but after I saw her finish with helping the customer and she left. I decided to wait maybe she just needed to grab something really but but I was waiting too long to the point I went to another employee to unlocked the locked item. I use Walmart+ and have been a customer for a long time. I will NO LONGER be going to or using any service that WalMart has to offer. It is common knowledge that it is quantity over quality when shopping at WalMart (both online and in person) and I have always been Ok knowing that it is my choice to shop there...BUT KEEPING CUSTOMER PRODUCTS/MONEY is NOT OK!! I had to go to the store myself to pick up the items that were supposed to be delivered..$449.00 worth of items because we just got into a new house. They wouldn't give me the items that I had purchased that were sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME at customer service. I started calling customer service right then and have now talked to 5 different people who have all said they "escalated" my issue. I had to repurchase the items and spent $900.00 in one day on a double order and they WILL NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!
