It looks less like a hearty bistro meal and more like a bowl of Elmer's glue that someone accidentally dropped a single, lonely floret of broccoli into. As for the flavor? If you're looking for cheddar, keep looking. I've had more "cheddar flavor" from breathing near a closed box of Cheez-Its. It's as if the soup was made in a room where someone once whispered the word "cheese" three years ago. It's impressively bland, a feat of culinary engineering that manages to taste like warm, thickened nothingness. Well, I ended up eating the carrot cake samples, so good. A little too sweet for me. I also wanted to check out their wine selection here since we are in Napa. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Cool decor, see pictures. Expect to see a better selection of wines since we are in Napa! Open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm. Plenty of mall parking. I don't even know where to start. I LOVE TRADER JOES!!!! Okay I guess that's a start. The first step in I get drawn in to the plants. Such great prices on the plants. Last time I was there I bought a Burro's tail and a trailing ruby. I saw the same plant at a few hardware stores for twice the price. Then off to the meat section. My goto's are nitrate free bacon, nitrate free hot dogs, lamb chops, grass feed ground beef, and the spatchcock lemon chicken. From the fruit I get all the berries. Produce I get peppers, onions, potatoes. Broccoli, green beans and mixed colored carrots. Dairy I get half and half and their Greek yogurt. Frozen I don't know if I can list everything I love. Frozen corn, green beans, peppers and onions, and anything else that sounds good at the time. Then the nuts (usually a variety) and a few sweet treats for my son. I could go on but my fingers tired. The employees there are always happy and nice and ready to help with my grocery bagging and even carrying out to my car. How could I go anywhere else. read more

I got a little angry with the parking situation in Bel Aire Plaza. I couldn't understand why it was so crazy in there at 2 PM on Monday afternoon. Then it hit me. Silly woman, you're going grocery shopping on December 23. Oops. It was pretty calm inside the Trader Joe's. I settled into my list of routine TJ items. I was so sad that every holiday treat I ran across was loaded with carbs which my doctor and nutritionist assure me will be lethal (to me). Then I sadly contemplated the hordes picking up said treats and wondered how long it would be before they too became diabetic. Yup, I'm definitely coming down with the holiday blues. However checking out the prices put me back in a jolly mood blended with savage price comparison. I paid homage to the passing of two buck chuck by having a hissy fit (now 3.49 how dare they!). No I did not buy the Chuck, it's bad enough when it's only two bucks. There's no need to torture yourself by paying $3.49 and then murdering your palate and getting a hangover to boot. I noticed the price of Bogle had fallen and decided I had to practice some quality control tasting. I had some leftover pasta at home and decided to indulge in a nostalgic bottle of D'aquini red Chianti; it's been about 20 years and I decided on a blast from the past evening. This is the cheap Chianti in the bulbous bottle with straw wrapped around. Magically, the horrid Chianti blends with jarred tomato sauce wiping each other out and creating a state of gratitude that you can no longer taste either. Trust me, this effect is real but experiencing it no more than once a decade is about right. Deciding that I'd gotten into enough trouble in the wine aisle, I wandered over to the chocolates trying to find the sugar free one but was stymied by nothing but holiday indulgences. I paused before the alleged healthier goats milk but scientifically rigorous research told me I'm still lactose intolerant and goats milk wouldn't help. Also the sugar content in the goats milk is still sky high and I could practically see my doctor and nutritionist shaking their heads in unison. Cursing my overly vivid imagination I decided I was going to Costco because they always have sugar free chocolate in stock. P.S. if per unfortunate chance you purchased this Chianti and are now stuck with an enormous quantity 1) it does improve on the second day but not enough and 2) just cook it into your pasta sauce. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Trader Joe's Napa this morning 6/21/2026 around 8:40 am. I came to the store to buy some groceries and I was hoping to purchase the mini pastel tote bags. When I went to the area where the mini pastel bags were displayed, the staff that was in charge asked me "Have you been here before?" I replied, "No." She cofidently replied "Are you sure?" I calmly replied "Yes, you can check your cameras". She then said, "I'm pretty sure it was you," implying that I had already come into the store earlier. I was shocked by the accusation (in my mind I'm not that desperate! ) and responded, "You need to be sure before saying that". Although the staff said "I'm sorry about that" the damage had already been done. Being wrongly accused was embarrassing, upsetting, and completely unnecessary.I understand that staff have a responsibility to monitor store policies however, customers should never be accused based on assumptions. If there is any doubt, the proper response is to verify the facts before confronting someone. I hope management provides additional training on how to handle these situations with professionalism and respect so that no other innocent customer has to experience the same experience I had. read more

Went to this Napa location where you can find items unavailable at our store in Fairfield. Here are some items: - Jumeokbap, a korean rice ball with plant-based bulgogi and vegetables. I just followed the instructions and was surprised at how delicious it was, and I had it for my lunch at work. - Kimbap, Korean tofu and vegetable seaweed rice roll, microwaved and great with wasabi and soy sauce. Will buy again. - Vegetables spring rolls which are filled with kale, edamame, mushrooms, and shredded tofu. Looks like it's been 10 years since my last review of Trader Joe's in Napa and nothing has changed inregards to the rating I would provide. The store always continues to improve itself. Decor always changes with the seasons and holidays. The staff here is always friendly and helpful. They keep everything stocked and the store clean and tidy. This has been our go to grocery store for our regular needs. The seasonal items always make the visits exciting as we try and look for them to try. What is super cool about Trader Joe's is my 7 year old daughter looks forward to shopping here. Primarily because of Ms. Whitney. She made a cool connection with her and she makes it a point to look for her every visit. She says it's more fun looking for her than for Pat the Bunny. Small, overcrowded place. The layout of the store is so bizarre and random. Want to get nuts and hair/beauty products? Oh great, they're right next to each other. As for the staff, sometimes they can be nice, sometimes you'll get the snotty, over pompous kid who barely acknowledges you. I've noticed there's hardly any diversity in their staff: it's all mostly older, white ppl. Tip to management: please don't put an older clerk to run the 15 items or less checkout lane. They start conversing with customers and pretty soon you'll be standing there waiting for your turn about 15 minutes later. read more

This is a smaller location and it's fine. I came here for a bottle of wine and some meats to go with the cheeses that I bought at Oxbow Market. I found my meat and wine. They didn't have the refrigerated wine section that I can find at other locations. Also, I was looking for a wine and they were out of it. They'll reorder, however, I won't be in the area because I'm leaving tomorrow. But the people who work there are very nice and I appreciated the woman who asked me about the wine I was looking for and am glad that she got back to me. I'm currently on vacation from UK. Staying with my daughter in Napa. Shopping yesterday I was looking for Breakfast cereals. Regular and sugar free bran flakes .Emma offered assistance without me asking. After our chat I continued shopping and she later came to tell me she had discussed these unavailable items with her manager and was assured it would be reviewed and given consideration for future options. Great spot and ranks above the top in the North Bay! There are lackluster TJ's and great TJ's, thankfully the Napa TJ's falls in the latter category. I understand its a chain and sells them same products and staff are always great, but I tend to grade TJ's on a few factors. First factor is the size of the store, some are so tiny it makes it a pain to shop there, so I avoid them like the plague. Second would be customer service, if you need help typically they are there to assist, especially in the wine department! Third is how fast the checkout line move, which the Napa location moves pretty quickly, so that's a huge plus for me! I am sure many don't read these reviews to get an idea of what to buy or avoid, so I wanted to focus on the three earlier points in this review as it may help others to make the choice to visit or not to visit this location. I went on a Saturday. Glad TJ's is so popular but it seemed so crowded! I had to wait in line before entry because they were limiting the number of people inside the store due to covid capacity restrictions. I expected the inside of the store to be much less crowded, but I just felt like there were people everywhere. Maybe I just feel that way because of covid. Still, at times it was difficult to maintain a 6 foot distance from other customers and employees, especially on the aisle with the the boxed soups and granola bars. This was much less of an issue in the produce section, which is much more open. Even though I felt this way, I am sure that TJ's was maintaining their capacity restrictions as they should have. The gentleman who was letting people in at the door and the lady who checked out my groceries both asked me how my day was going. I appreciate their always friendly staff! read more

Thank god for Trader Joe's. This particular trip had me visiting them 2x. You can find a quick snack, sandwich, Vietnamese shrimp rolls, simple California rolls and veggie wraps. Found out the conference venue's restaurant was closed for lunch so had to drop by here. Perfect for grab and go. Of course there are the usual produce and snack options. Staff is pretty friendly and helpful. Would definitely stop by if I'm in the area again. Located in a plaza, parking is plenty but competitive especially during high peak times. Just watch out for pedestrians and other cars. Sometimes it's like playing "chicken" when you're already on the cross walk, you hope the driver or the person with their grocery cart sees you and you don't get run over. read more

Ive been shopping at TJ's for years and Im old so that's a might long time. The cool thing about this particular location is well, the location. Its in the same shopping center as Whole Foods and Target so if you need say Diet Coke (which neither TJ's or WF sells) you can walk across the small parking lot to Target to get it. Yeah, yeah, this is about Trader Joe's. The store is laid out well and the aisles are decently wide. They have the same array of great products you've come to know and expect from TJ's. The folks working there are super friendly and of course helpful. The dark side of having so much coolness in one shopping center, the parking kind of sucks. Good luck trying to get a decent paring spot in front of TJ's. Ive given up on trying and now just park on the other side closer to Target. If you don't mind walking a little it saves the hassle of trying to secure a choice parking spot. read more

In my opinion, this store has done the best job during Covid keeping their employees and customers safe. Although it is inconvenient to have to stand in line to get in the store, I understand the reasoning. Once in the store, they have an excellent selection of flowers that are reasonably priced. The last time was this past Saturday evening and what stood out that I noticed happened each visit is overhearing the employees gripe about their job.
