Wasn't too impressed with the Market. Small selection of pastries and many had artificial colors and looked more appealing to children. Croissants looked like the ones at breakfast. Very few options. There was many snacks but more of a convenience than exclusively available in Napa feel. Bees wax from Woodland, CA and chocolates from San Francisco for example. Didn't get anything but it was nice to browse a little. Wish they had a Napa valley focus. read more

Market Up The best way to sum up the Market at Carneros is by saying that imagine if Whole Foods and 7-11 had a kid, then this would basically be it. A high-end convenience store whose main audience is the high-falutin' folks (avg price to stay is $700-1k/night) who stay at the Carneros Resort & Spa, and are looking for some quick amenities, snacks or alcohol. The Good: *Nice selection of wine on hand, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. *They do sell sandwiches for picnic lunches *Lots of gifty-type stuff for foodies and fans of the Napa Valley *Mostly everything there is high-quality goods. The Meh: *Prices are high to obscene, which, as I stated before, shouldn't be much of a surprise. *We visited after eating at Boon Fly Café and there wasn't a good way to get from there to the market without going to the door that's marked "Staff Only." This is despite multiple signs in the parking lot that led you towards it. *Most items didn't have price tags which is a pet peeve of mine. But, I guess as the saying goes, if you have to ask... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Ugly: *Service was a bit lacking for such a high-end place. The lady who ended up taking care of us was in the middle of putting together an order (which turned out to be for a resort guest) and made us wait five minutes before she could be bothered to come help us. I've seen other reviews mention the poor service, so this shouldn't be much of a surprise. #Priorties TLDR: Interesting place to look for gifts and goodies, bu be prepared to pay for the privilege. read more

While waiting for boonfly cafe strolled over to the resort area to find the market that had everything Napa/St. Helena from the famous model bakery English muffin and treats from Marin's Rustic Bakery, cheeses, fruits, and goods. We popped Prosecco accompanied with some Brie cheese and Beechers crackers right outside. They also provided us with cups and plates! read more

The Market was our go-to place for, quick breakfasts, afternoon snacks, items to compliment our in-room lunch, and anything else we could think of. We had a quick breakfast there one morning and later picked up a few meats, cheeses, and fruit for a lunch. Our favorite though was the prosciutto and provelone stuffed banana peppers! The manager, Lori, and her staff were so friendly, after only one trip they all knew our names and would ask where we were eating, how our day was going, etc. It made it a fun place to visit. read more

An upscale convenience store of sorts that's part of the immense Carneros Resort and Spa. It's more accessible than the Boon Fly Cafe, with plenty of ample parking, and priceless views. There are beautiful vistas of the mountains and vineyards. It's a lovely midway point between Napa and Sonoma. Market offers not only a delicatessen, salads and sandwiches, but clothing&accessories as well. They have jams, jellies, pasta sauces (pasta included) If you need Wine Country souvenirs, they have them. They've expanded their offerings to breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. While they have many prepared items, they have food you can take back to your onsite kitchenette. Combine Market with their room service, and if you needed to quarantine for 14 days on the resort grounds, they'd make it as luxurious and comfortable as possible! Market is the underrated part of the vast Carneros Resort&Spa. Boon Fly gets the acclaim. Market is great, even if you're just dropping by for a coffee to fuel a long drive. read more

We came for the Boon Fly Cafe. Ahem...2 hour wait?? Nope. When we arrived (at the wrong entrance), "the market" had been mentioned, so we made our way to see what it was about. Perhaps some craft coffee and a croissant or something. Wow, super surprise. Very clean and chic local market vibe with fresh quick breakfasts, craft coffee and fresh danishes. They deserve a 5-star with the exception that they had a 20 min bottleneck at the cash register. They need two registers please. Expect a long time to pay, even if the line is short. Market will help tide your hunger if Boon Fly Cafe is too crowded for brunch & the excellent Farm restaurant is not yet open for dinner but you're hankering for a nibble Carrying Toms shoes as well as Carneros Inn swag like T-shirts / fleece / hats, plus an actual convenience-store-like market w/ chips, salads, wraps, freshly made side dishes & a more than decent selection of cheese for all your wine imbibing. There's also a cooler in the back w/ soft beverages of all sorts I found a cute pair of metallic Toms shoes & I can't resist the chance to sparkle at any opportunity Friend got the Chicken Wrap & it was soft, flavorful, & had lots of melty cheese.....they sure don't skimp here & it was drool-worthy I also saw a Portabella Wrap option on the menu that'll have to be on my list for next visit - esp as it comes w/ all that melty cheese!! If I could live up here and eat at Market all the time! I didn't discover Market until a friend stopped by on a whim and wouldn't/couldn't stop talking about his lunch - french dip panini. I finally shared his experience on a late Monday afternoon and I'm beyond impressed! Sandwiches are fresh, very reasonably priced and service was impeccable and genuine. Another bonus, you can take Market purchases and relax in the "cabaña" open area by Farm restaurant (also highly recommended by friends). $17 for a shared sandwich, beer and wine. Want to avoid the weekend crowd (and very loud cell phone conversations you'd rather not hear)? Go off-hour on a weekday, they're open 7 days/week. Though in our case, even on a deserted Monday afternoon, we obviously weren't seated far enough to avoid the girl who JUST HAD to have her high-pitched, LOUD recap of her weekend plans walking around 50- feet+ away. read more

I absolutely love this place! We host a lot of wine tasting events when friends visit. I used to spend hours preparing picnic items but not since discovering that Market can do the work for me. Staff are extremely helpful and menus can be changed to your needs without much fuss. They do a charcuterie and cheese plate which includes chocolate covered blueberries and nuts for $25. Their wraps are around $8 and you can substitute a different bread for a more substantial sandwich. For $20 you'll get a complete lunch bag with a sandwich/wrap, bottled water, side salad, fruit, and chips. You even get utensils and napkins. You can call them ahead of time and they have the individual bags waiting for you. So convenient and delicious. I also like that you can eat there, inside or outside seeing. We've also sat in the Farm lounge area during the day and no one chased us away. read more

Service this time was much less helpful. More - we'll get to you when we can - than what can we do for you. I had the woman at one register send me to the other register to pay, where I stood and waited while being ignored by the rest of the staff until the first woman decided to walk over to this register and let me pay. Why? Why do that? The yogurt parfait was good, I laughed that they sell bullet proof coffee (so hip!), and disappointed in my chai that just tastes like sweet cream and not at all like chai spices. Market deserves 5 stars for two reasons. First: Their butterscotch pudding. I know, I know, it sounds like an "old person dessert" but it's absolutely phenomenal. And I don't even particularly like butterscotch! No trip to Napa is complete without stopping for it. Second: The service. Once, we arrived right when Market closed (the GPS led us astray) and they were locking up. However, the waiter was so kind, friendly, and happily brought us four butterscotch puddings to go. Love these little deli markets, and wish I had gotten a sandwich from here for lunch instead of my eggs benedict at Boon Fly nearby. Fully stocked with goodies, and an extensive sandwich collection, everything looked super good! However, we just picked up drinks, including a bottle of wine here to go with our meal. They even provided us with a handful of plastic cups and opened the bottle of wine for us. Would definitley come back next time to enjoy one of their sandwiches! read more

This is a good little place for the wines, beers, deli, coffee, and snacks. The hours and service is another story however. Our first visit here we went in just to grab a self service iced coffee and a few snacks. The girl behind the counter helping us was reasonably nice when we were checking out, but as soon as she cashed us out she whipped around the corner and bee lined for the exit. She told us they open at 7 am; at this point I'm thinking who cares. We walked out the door and she abruptly shut and locked it. Apparently it was closing time, but she never even really made mention of it. Weird, but at least we grabbed a nice bag of snacks and a decently priced bottle of Napa red too. You can also eat here inside, as there are tables to enjoy a quick sandwich or breakfast, and they serve wines by the glass. We came back the next day after the gym, wanting to grab lunch sandwiches to go. The pesto chicken wrap I had was good, and I forgot what my wife ordered but she liked it. However, there were three girls on duty behind the counter, and one was more clueless than the next. The place was a bit busy, but there was no order to the way they were taking orders and cashing people out. We weren't quite sure exactly when or where or with whom we should order, and if we were supposed to pay before or after our sandwiches were ready. It also took about 20-25 minutes just to grab sandwiches from the deli counter. Kind of a cluster eff around lunch time. Good food and drinks, but not exactly the quickest or most straight forward place. Would not recommend if you are pressed for time. read more

A cool little market that mostly serves the Carneros Inn resort. Very tasty, and pricey, little foodstuffs, sandwiches, baseball caps, socks, crackers, wine, bath salts, and drinks. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here and the selection is too eclectic to count on. There's some great goat cheese and an olive bar, but no fresh fruit, so it would be hard to assemble a careful picnic even here. But if a pang of hunger strikes you as you're cresting the little pass from Sonoma to Napa, and you happen to be hitting the brakes and there's no opposing traffic, it might just be worth poking your head in. Coming from the other direction, if you're staying at the pricey resort it's lucky this place exists - long hours, lots of wine to buy, you can stock up for your room so you don't have to leave the property. read more

I stopped into the Market at the Carneros Inn on my way home from Napa to Sonoma. I had been to the Boon Fly and loved it and hoped that the Market would carry similar quality and quicker service. Was I right or what!!! This is the perfect place to stop in for a quick coffee or sandwich (panini's, wraps...). They also carry local cheeses and drinks if you wanted to collect stuff for a picnic before or after wine tasting. I just know that I had the portabello mushroom wrap and Im pretty sure my life won't ever be the same :) FYI, they carry Boon Fly's fried chicken also!!! Why your waiting on your sandwich or latte, you can enjoy the quaint atmosphere in the lawns of the hotel playing bocci ball, just relaxing in the sunshine, or shopping all the other amazing gifty items they sell in the Market itself. All around its a pretty fun place to know about. It's definitely tucked away a little bit (part of the appeal) so, I suggest entering and exiting on Old Sonoma Rd. Its just a bit safer. read more

This is the second time I've been here and had a bad meal, and this time it was two bad meals. The service was great, but the food was little to be desired. I ordered the spring risotto, but asked them to hold off on any additional cheese, which could explain why the food was bland...but it was terribly bland. The rice was overcooked and required lots and lots of salt to get any flavor. I eventually gave up. Our server noticed I wasn't eating and replaced my dish with the chopped salad. When they say chopped, boy do they mean it. It was basically a broccoli salad that looked like it had been put through a food processor. All the pieces were so small. I couldn't even tell it was a salad when she brought it out to me. It looked like a pile of mush. I also couldn't tell if the broccoli was supposed to be cooked or fresh. Again, bland-- if not for the bacobits that were floating around. I took a few bites and gave up. Last, but not least, the cocktail...way too sweet for my palate. It was like drinking syrup.... What is lacking here is balance in flavors, and it looks like the kitchen is trying too hard or not trying at all. I wouldn't recommend it and definitely won't ever be back. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite on a whim. We were coming from San Francisco for winery tastings and didn't have a lot of time and were looking for something quick. Our food was average as most delis go and the service was not overly quick, but they have gluten free items (important to us). The size of our servings were large and they have a beautiful picnic area to eat as well. They could very easily have made it a 5 if the quality was just a little better and the 5 people behind the counter worked together instead of get in the way to produce the food read more

Delicious gourmet food at deli prices!! The Market at The Carneros Inn is a treasure waiting to be discovered by the general public. I dropped in on my way from Santa Rosa to Sacramento for breakfast and had a delicious sausage breakfast burrito--yummy. Took a look at the lunch items and stopped by on my way back for a roast beef au jus panini on potato bread. Really hit the spot, great prices, super nice surroundings and friendly staff. Found out the food is prepared by the chefs at Boon Fly Cafe and FARM, including all of the bakery items. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty much to die for. Whether you're in the area wine tasting, or just passing through and in need of a quick bite, it doesn't get much better than this. Dine inside on cute cafe tables or at one of the great spots outside --either way you're surrounded by the beautiful architecture and landscaping at The Carneros Inn. Deli offerings, full coffee bar, morning bakery items, wines/beers, and a nice selection of gift shop items from cookbooks to a fine selection of Toms footwear. Hard to find from the Hwy so turn in to The Carneros Inn and The Market is situated right next to the U.S. Post Office. Open to the public -- not just for hotel guests. Highly recommend. read more

My friend and I stumbled upon this place looking for a place to eat. To our surprise the sandwich selection was wonderful and they have additional side dishes in the deli. We very much enjoyed our food and the shop had wonderful offerings which included jewelry - my favorite.
