I attended an event in V Wine Cellar located inside of V Marketplace in Yountville. They do have an outdoor and indoors sittings surrounded with great quality wines! Shafer was one of them! I believe it is a family owned. Servers knows most of the people that walked in. I felt a good vibe being here. Btw, owner of the Shafer showed up too. Just didn't get a chance to take pictures. Make sure to stop buy if you're around Yountville for tasting!

I learned to saber here. If you book directly through v wines, they charge you $25 plus the bottle. We were taught how to do it and then we chillaxed on the back patio and sipped the whole bottle. I highly recommend if your looking to do a little something different in the area of Cabernet.

They have a great selection of wines especially California wines and lots of hard to find wines from the area. Also cigars and some nice wine gifts.

They printed a personalized menu that read "Happy Birthday Michelle," created a full multi-course tasting for us, and even paired each course with thoughtful mocktails, as I do not drink alcohol, including non-alcoholic bubbles with the first course. The pairings themselves were beautifully executed, with each one personally presented by the sommelier and bartender That attention to detail really stood out. The meal itself was excellent. The hamachi crudo was beautifully presented on a massive pink Himalayan salt slab and had incredible flavor with the Calabrian ponzu and caviar. The ricotta agnolotti with lemon zest and pea shoots was probably my favorite dish of the night -- perfectly pillowy, delicate, and comforting without being heavy. Absolutely delectable. For the main course, they presented the NY Wagyu steak tableside before cooking it, which added a really nice touch to the experience. The lobster with brown butter and capers was rich and flavorful, and the desserts were fantastic -- especially their creative tiramisu-inspired dessert that was coated in a milk chocolate shell like a little tiramisu bomb. What impressed me most was how much care the staff put into making the evening feel personal. Multiple team members took time to attend to our table throughout the night, and it was clear they genuinely wanted to make things right and create a memorable experience. Overall, this revisit completely changed the tone of our experience, and I'm grateful for the hospitality and effort the restaurant showed. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful, and they absolutely made my birthday feel celebrated.

The prix fixe menu is $69 and includes their signature fried chicken along with appetizers and sides. They also offer daily add-ons, and since we arrived starving, we couldn't resist ordering a few extras. Portions are very generous--so much so that we ended up with plenty of leftovers (which definitely came in clutch later that night!). I'm not exaggerating when I say Thomas Keller and his team truly deliver. The fried chicken was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly juicy on the inside with an incredibly crispy, flavorful crust. The house-made chips with sour cream dip were absolutely addictive.

It was a letdown since we came for hubby's birthday and had been wanting to try it for over a year since the last time we were here. Guess we'll have to try again another time. We still decided to sit at the bar. You can either order à la carte from that day's offerings or do the set menu. Thanks to the group next to us, we found out you can also order just the sides if you don't want the main. The main that day was a pork dish with a jalapeno cheddar polenta, but we skipped it since we thought you had to order the whole thing and were already getting the fried chicken add-on. Luckily, we were able to order just the jalapeño cheddar polenta side which was very delicious. Sadly, I think we've officially given up on the fried chicken. I really wanted to like it since everyone seems to rave about it, but it just wasn't for me. The coating was beautifully crisp, but overall it tasted pretty bland and lacked flavor. The hot sauce bottles definitely helped and kind of saved it. The bartender brought out bottles for everyone. Interestingly, the last time we tried the fried chicken (a few years ago), we weren't offered hot sauce at all. The bartender mentioned they've always had it, which makes me think our server back then just didn't bring it out. I remember that visit too, we came for a Friday lunch, sat on the patio (we were the only ones out there), and still weren't offered any. The chicken was also bland back then. That said, the bartender was a nice kid, friendly and welcoming. He said normally he's a server but that day he was at the bar so I'll definitely look out for him again and request him. For drinks, I had a Diet Coke, which comes in a can. Since they're doing cans, I do wish they offered Coke Zero as well since I'm not really a Diet Coke person, but I also didn't want to just stick with water or iced tea with my meal. It was our first time sitting at the bar, and we really enjoyed the experience. I'd definitely sit at the bar again. Ordering à la carte also worked out better for us, especially since dessert that day was a chocolate mousse and I'm not a big chocolate dessert person. We still got one since it was hubby's birthday, and they brought it out with a candle, which was a cute touch. It was $10 and perfect to share, getting a second one just for me would've been a waste.

Chef Thomas Keller is known for precision, discipline, and an almost obsessive attention to detail. His style is refined, technical, and rooted in classic French technique, elevated with modern creativity. Every course reflects that philosophy, clean flavors, flawless execution, and zero shortcuts. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars, the highest distinction, and has been considered one of the best restaurants in the world for many years. We secured a reservation for four at 7:00 PM, which in itself feels like an achievement. There are not many tables for two, so getting a reservation for a pair is extremely difficult. The best approach is to try for a reservation of four or more for the main dining room. Larger groups may find private dining easier to book. The evening runs long, over four hours. It is not rushed at all. By around the sixth course, I was already full, but the progression keeps you engaged. Each dish is small but rich, layered, and intentional. They add additional complimentary courses to the experience! The experience starts in the waiting area inside the restaurant with a welcome toast. Once seated, you are given personalized menus, which adds a thoughtful touch. At the end, they send you home with custom cookies and a chocolate bar, small details that reinforce the experience. For my birthday, they went further, surprising me with a bottle of sparkling wine engraved with my name. That level of personalization felt genuine. Logistics were straightforward. Parking was easy, we parked across the street. The dinner was prepaid through Tock, which simplifies the process. There are also optional add ons to the tasting menu, like truffle mac and cheese and wagyu beef. Tip is already included and you can add additional tip if you desire! They are also flexible with dietary needs, one person in our group was vegetarian, and the kitchen accommodated seamlessly without compromising quality. Overall, it is one of the best dining experiences of my life and I will definitely go back again. I would choose an earlier reservation next time so dinner does not run so late into the night. Everything is exceptional from start to finish. Cool fact: Governor Gavin Newsom was caught eating here during the COVID lockdowns! You will see many celebrities dining according to our hostess, which is no big deal for someone from Southern California!
