Not sure if portions got smaller or maybe we didn't order enough but I did run our plan through with our waiter and the group left hungry at the end. We've been a few times and always enjoyed our time and the food here. Great flavors, great presentation, but def not good for family-style options for dinner. $2 per person charge for bread and garlic dip (which is delicious) plus their filtered water. Not sure if it's optional but they did just put the bread on the table and found it was added to the bill at the end. I guess it's determined when you don't get bottled water? We got a round of the Passionfruit Margs, which were a hit, as well as their tasty negroni's, and their Prickly Bear Sour (sadly no bear ice cube tonight). Ordered the Octopus, Calamari, and Shaved Brussels Salad for starters. We followed with three pasta dishes: the Agnolotti, Carbonara, and the Spaghetti. Then followed with The Branzino and Short Rib. All this for a party of 3 girls, and 3 guys and we were still hungry. Usually this amount of food at an Italian spot for dinner should suffice but could've easily added 3 more dishes. Was really excited to bring my friends here for a birthday dinner since the BF and I have always loved it but probs just need to order more from the jump next time.

The food is superb and the service is next level. We had the burrata to start, then shared the Brussels sprouts and short ribs. Everything tasted amazing. The vibe is relaxed but definitely fine dinning. Would absolutely recommend.

Great ambiance with fun vibes and helpful and attentive service staff. Dark and moody inside, definitely has a cool Napa vibe. The food was solid. If i could give a 3 1/2 star review, I would, however I will say since I can't it definitely rounds up to a four rather down to a three. I think that the food was well executed and quality. Overall, I thought the Bolognese was a little bit game-y but the hamachi was excellent as was the arincini. I would visit bottega again.

Nestled in a very cute Italian themed town with easily accessible parking this was definitely nice for aesthetics .It's a beautiful establishment with a very high end feel. We were sat almost immediately. We had a view of the kitchen which was cool. Definitely on the pricier side but everything seemed almost Michelin level. Service was good though toward the end it took us forever to get our check. Like other restaurants we partroned- no one askes how you would like it. They just put everything on one check. Kind of rude it you ask me. All in all I would probably not return. Half of my party left and god food afterwards because the portions are so small.

The restaurant is absolutely stunning, and the service is truly top‑notch. I came for a birthday lunch and the staff went out of their way to make it feel special. The bread with garlic dip is dangerously addictive--consider yourself warned! Portion sizes lean on the smaller side for the price (hence the 4 stars vs. 5), but every dish is beautifully prepared with incredibly fresh, flavorful ingredients. Check out our photos and you'll see why Bottega earns such high ratings. My only wish is that the food and drink prices were a bit more reasonable. For us, it's definitely a "special occasion" kind of place, but a memorable one.

Had a great experience here, wonderful staff and the food was good. The ambience is nice, good for a night out with family or your loved ones. Calamari for appetizer, crispy, good bite too it, almost a snapping sensation, not rubbery. 5/5 Tuna tartare with caviar, special of the night 5/5, super tasty. Brodetto ai fruitti di Mare 5/5 Seafood was very fresh, the croutons were insanely good. Complimentary dessert, also very good. Great experience overall.

We've been back a few more times since our first visit, and this has become one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the area. It's a great spot for both lunch and dinner, and perfect for celebrating special occasions. We've even brought family visiting from Southern California, and every visit has been a great experience. Favorites: Carbonara al Carbone - 5/5 Raviolo - 5/5 (a must-try and by far my favorite) Calamari - 5/5 Tiramisu - 5/5 Other dishes we tried: Bistecca alla Fiorentina (porterhouse steak) - 3.8/5 Decent, but at $175 it's not something we would order again. Burrata - 4/5 (a good, shareable appetizer) Bruschetta - 4/5 (simple and enjoyable; my son especially liked it) Piadina al Salmon - 4/5 Arancini - 3.8/5 (good, but not enough to share among six people) Insalata Cesar (Caesar salad) - 4/5 Costolette di Manzo - 4/5 (braised short rib that was tender and full of flavor) We recently celebrated a birthday dinner here, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive to our needs. Reservations are recommended especially on the weekends, as it does get busy, though walk-ins are sometimes possible. Overall, this is a great place with good food, good service, and a welcoming atmosphere. .

We have always loved Bottega, but this time was the absolute best! It is so hard to put into words how good this food was! We went for restaurant month where you get three courses for $60... It did not disappoint! Pretty sure this is the classiest most beautiful restaurant around. And the service is just top-notch! Our server was Joey, but then there was another guy who did a lot and we loved him as well! But Joey was just friendly, hospitable and helpful, and just an all-around easy-going guy! Thank you, Joey! I will talk about the food in the pictures because there's just way too much to say here. But pretty much this is our new favorite restaurant in Napa and we have lived here for 47 years! Michael would have been proud! I will also post a picture probably 20 years ago when he signed my cookbook

A great place to celebrate an anniversary dinner. The staff greeted us and said congratulations as we gave them our name at the host stand. After that there was an anniversary card that was placed on our table. The tables are placed quite close to the other tables. You can easily eavesdrop into other peoples conversations with meaning to. so it's not as intimate as some may like. Service was fine although they could be a little bit quicker. We're pretty understanding so it didn't bother us too much. Overall food and wine were good. If you want to save a few bucks on wine you can bring in your own and just pay a corkage fee. I opted for the prix fie menu for $60/person as it was Napa restaurant month. I'm knocking off a star because they charge $2/person for the bread. Seems pretty ridiculous. I feel like if they're not going to make it complimentary, they should at least ask if the customer wants it.

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and wow! Bottega absolutely delivered. We started with the Burrata and the Pasta Fritta con Prosciutto, which was dangerously addicting. For mains, we ordered the New York steak and the Tagliarini Bolognese al Centro. The steak was cooked beautifully. tender, flavorful, and just done right. But the bolognese... SO comforting and rich. To end the night, we shared the cannoli, which was the perfect sweet finish. It was light, crisp, and not overly sweet. Great food, great ambiance, incredible service and such a lovely spot for a special occasion. Highly recommend for date nights or celebrations. We'll definitely be back.

Bottega in Yountville delivers the kind of Italian dining experience that feels perfectly at home in Napa Valley--refined, welcoming, and deeply satisfying. I visited with friends during a relaxed day outing, and the restaurant's ambience immediately set the tone: warm, lively, and polished without feeling pretentious. It's the sort of place that invites you to linger. We began with the intention of ordering calamari, only to learn they had run out--a minor disappointment quickly remedied by our server's recommendation of the polpo alla griglia. It turned out to be a standout: tender, beautifully grilled, and full of flavor, proving the kitchen knows exactly how to let quality ingredients shine. The burrata caprese followed, fresh and creamy, a classic done right. For the main, I ordered the carbonara al carbon, and it was excellent--rich, balanced, and indulgent without being heavy. The ultimate compliment: I finished every bite. Service throughout the meal was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience without ever interrupting it. In short, Bottega delivers on all fronts--pleasant ambience, thoughtful service, and genuinely delicious food. A strong choice for a Napa Valley outing and a restaurant I'd happily return to.

I came here to celebrate my birthday month and they were gracious enough to take our group in 30 mins early! The place was bustling with a lot of customers with the excited chatter peppered throughout. Our table was situated next to the open kitchen, which allowed us to see many dishes flow out constantly. We started off the night with a round of Espresso Amartinis. Surprisingly, I like the citrus notes in this cocktail. Coperto - Get the bread! Calamari - Super crisp and loved Nero aioli pairing. Risotto - Perfect sear on the fish with a creamy risotto. Brodetto ai Fritti di Mare - This seafood stew is filled with seafood! The hard piece of bread in the broth was confusing as it's not propped on the side, but rather sitting within the broth. We all were wondering what that was! Wagyu Tomahawk - Perfect cook at a medium & perfectly sliced to share. Conserva d' Anatra - I'm not a big fan of duck, but this was pretty good! This had the right cook and crisp on the duck. Carbonara al Carbon - I'm a big fan of charcoal but this is the very first time I've had it in a pasta. This dish works though with the meld of the runny yolk & savory pasta Ricotta Gnocchi della Nonna - As described, these were divine with its pillowy softness. Costolette di Manzo - You get one large short rib (which is more than enough!). Very tender. The Birthday Dessert was small mini desserts with small mini desserts. Perfect dessert to share! Service was amazing and I would definitely come back again.

    Bottega Reviews in Other Languages

    Ask the Community - Bottega

    Do they corkage?

Yes - I forget the fee, somewhere between $30 - $50.00 per bottle & it must be a bottle that they do NOT carry

    What is dress code?

    Casual

    Are children allowed?

    Yes.

How far in advance can you make a reservation?

Hi Amy, On weekdays they usually have plenty of spots open and can make reservations the same day. Weekends, I would check at least a week in advance.

Is there a limit to group dining during COVID?

Are there kids menu? Or at least can we ask make cheese pizza for kids?

No they don't have a kids menu, but they've always been accommodating (ie, plain pasta with butter). I suppose it all depends on the day if the kitchen wants to be nice.

Planning on going for lunch. Should I ask for patio seating or inside? Which is better?

The outside is lovely and fully covered. I have been on both sunny and rainy days and had a wonderful time.

Would anyone know if they are currently open for outdoor dining? Thanks!

Yes! They have a beautiful covered patio outside.

Is dog allowed for outdoor seating?

Yup, was there last Friday with our dog Zoe, they even brought her water. She's just a pet, not a service dog. You should mention it when you reserve, though.

    Is there outdoor seating?

    Yes

    Are there private dining rooms?

    Yes!

The prix fixe menu is $69 and includes their signature fried chicken along with appetizers and sides. They also offer daily add-ons, and since we arrived starving, we couldn't resist ordering a few extras. Portions are very generous--so much so that we ended up with plenty of leftovers (which definitely came in clutch later that night!). I'm not exaggerating when I say Thomas Keller and his team truly deliver. The fried chicken was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly juicy on the inside with an incredibly crispy, flavorful crust. The house-made chips with sour cream dip were absolutely addictive.

We…read morecame here for my birthday dinner, seating was very quick, initial service was prompt and we were looking forward to the pre fixe menu. We ordered a couple drinks from the bar which were brought over to our table, our waiter went over the menu and how the pre fixe meal would proceed. For our starter, we had the Garden snap peas salad. The idea of fresh ingredients of carrots, frisee, arugula, and the Hobbs bacon was going to create a bounty of flavors, but fell short as our salad was doused heavily with dressing. The dressing completely overpowered the vegetables, did not compliment them as anticipated, leaving a very sour/bitter taste after every bite. Even the table next to us felt the dressing was overpowering. For our next course, we ordered the French onion dip and kettle chips appetizer, this was a solid pick! This appetizer was more than enough for two people, actually way too much for both of us, but enjoyed the dip very much. This is where the service began to slow down. We were almost done with our appetizer platter, needing some water refills and a fresh beverage, and felt like a very long time from when we received our appetizer until our waiter came back to us. For context, it had been almost an hour since we initially sat down, ate our salad and appetizer. I know this may be a slow paced meal, but felt overly long before we even got to our main course. For the main course, we had the pork chops. Well portioned for both of us, very tender, but lacked that nice grilled char we personally like. I assume the pork chops were sous vide and then finished lightly on the grill top to give the char and grill marks. Overall good, but not the wow we were anticipating for tonight's meal. Next up was the apple, crisp, dessert, which was OK and underwhelmed. We skipped the cheese and pretzel plate and asked them to put it in a to go box as we were already approaching two hours into our meal. Our experience may not be typical, but for a very expensive Friday night dinner, we felt it could've been spent elsewhere and would have had a better value overall.

Our served never came by to ask how our meals were. Small thing, but still important. 4. In my job, I have entertained multiple times with 6 people or more. Good establishments always always always the server will point out if a gratuity is always included. Again not a word from the server. We were all very disappointed. I would never tip her 20% for the service we received. This is why a 20% automatic gratuity should never be mandatory. Please not on the attached receipt that had deducted the additional Casareccia Bolognese that was originally added. It gives me no pleasure to write this review. We were all hoping for a much different experience.

Chef Thomas Keller is known for precision, discipline, and an almost obsessive attention to detail. His style is refined, technical, and rooted in classic French technique, elevated with modern creativity. Every course reflects that philosophy, clean flavors, flawless execution, and zero shortcuts. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars, the highest distinction, and has been considered one of the best restaurants in the world for many years. We secured a reservation for four at 7:00 PM, which in itself feels like an achievement. There are not many tables for two, so getting a reservation for a pair is extremely difficult. The best approach is to try for a reservation of four or more for the main dining room. Larger groups may find private dining easier to book. The evening runs long, over four hours. It is not rushed at all. By around the sixth course, I was already full, but the progression keeps you engaged. Each dish is small but rich, layered, and intentional. They add additional complimentary courses to the experience! The experience starts in the waiting area inside the restaurant with a welcome toast. Once seated, you are given personalized menus, which adds a thoughtful touch. At the end, they send you home with custom cookies and a chocolate bar, small details that reinforce the experience. For my birthday, they went further, surprising me with a bottle of sparkling wine engraved with my name. That level of personalization felt genuine. Logistics were straightforward. Parking was easy, we parked across the street. The dinner was prepaid through Tock, which simplifies the process. There are also optional add ons to the tasting menu, like truffle mac and cheese and wagyu beef. Tip is already included and you can add additional tip if you desire! They are also flexible with dietary needs, one person in our group was vegetarian, and the kitchen accommodated seamlessly without compromising quality. Overall, it is one of the best dining experiences of my life and I will definitely go back again. I would choose an earlier reservation next time so dinner does not run so late into the night. Everything is exceptional from start to finish. Cool fact: Governor Gavin Newsom was caught eating here during the COVID lockdowns! You will see many celebrities dining according to our hostess, which is no big deal for someone from Southern California!

At a young age, she has been fascinated with cooking and interested with how chefs live and work. We were so fortunate to get a spot for her birthday. The atmosphere, meticulous service, intentional thought in making art out of food impressed me so much. Thank you so much for the memorable experience and amazing food. The experience made our daughter feel extra special on her big day.

In contrast, the patio area was serene and lovely. Service: every single detail was 100% impeccable! One of the best services we've had anywhere. Food: fantastic! Ordered : cold pea soup: refreshing, light, full of flavor. Really enjoyed it! Salmon tartar: very good. Larger portion than expected. Lamb: came with white beans. Well cooked and flavorful. Roasted chicken: well prepared. juicy and tender. Jus/gravy was rich and addictive. Peas and bacon that accompanied the chicken was delicious. Steak frites: super tender!! Great flavor. Upgraded to truffle fries for additional $9. Mussels in wine broth: big plump clean mussels. Rich sumptuous broth. Swapped out the fries for sauted spinach which was very good. Sauted hericort vert: good Fresh complimentary bread: crusty, airy, so good with butter. Highly recommend!

The Crevettes, aka Jumbo Prawns, we fresh and tasty. The salad was a meal in itself, delicious chunks of bacon lardons (pork belly) yumminess & the right amount of vinaigrette. The Steak Frites was cooked just right, a nice medium-rare and savory buttery on top. Frites were crispy, not overcooked and a nice compliment to the meal. Very nice way to end a great weekend away.
