We've been here two or three times now. The pizzas are great. I'm not really a meatball person, but the meatballs and the red sauce they come in are fantastic. The 4-cheese pizza is really good, and I usually prefer meat on my pizza. But the meat pizzas I have had there were excellent, as well. We ordered a pizza and asparagus to be delivered from here. The food was not protected, as in nothing was taped or stapled closed, which left the food available to easily be tampered with. Blocked that out of my mind and decided to eat it anyway. The pizza was cold, which was fine, it needed to be crisped up anyway. The asparagus dish was very light on asparagus. Came to A16 with a friend without a reservation for a late dinner at 8:30pm on a Friday and we were surprised to find a fully packed restaurant - we grabbed one of the last few open outdoor booths which was surprisingly warm and toasty thanks to the many space heaters they have. We got the fava bean dip as an appetizer, the little gem salad, and the Dungeness crab pasta to share. We actually also ordered the blistered snow peas and were actually really looking forward to it, but it never came out - we do wonder if it got mixed up since at some point during our meal our server told us our pizza was coming soon and we corrected him to tell him we hadn't ordered a pizza. The fava bean dip wasn't really what we were expecting and was rather bland, but the crispy chips? were nice texturally and would've gone great with a more flavorful dip. The little gem salad was essentially a Caeser salad and though crisp and fresh wasn't anything special. We were expecting the dungeness crab pasta to have lump pieces of crab, but it was instead kind of small shreds of crab meat mixed into the tomato sauce, and really the squid served as the main protein of the dish. Though it was a good pasta dish, and the cherry tomatoes made a fresh flavorful sauce, we were expecting a bit more for the price. We had Mother's Day dinner here. Seated promptly with our 5:30 pm reservation and mothers were given a rose which was a nice touch. They have seating inside and outside. We were seated inside and sat for a long while that when we started to wonder where our server was. He appeared and was very apologetic for the delay and started to take our drink orders. While waiting for our drinks he had some appetizers served on the house which consisted of the focaccia bread, burrata and meatballs while our drinks came out. The appetizers were all wonderful and tasty. We still ordered more apps to try which were the fried olives and calamari misto. I ordered the unplug drink since my first request (blushing rebel) ran out. The drink was ok but my gin and tonic I got was perfect! Service from then on was exceptional. The servers frequently filled our drinks, checked on and cleared table as needed. Hubby ordered the cavatelli and I got the steak with arugula. We always share but it was really hard to with the steak. That dish was so good!! Hubby definitely would come back for that alone. The others at our table enjoyed their food too. Came here with the family to celebrate Mother's Day and we enjoyed the food and company. We had reservations and was seated quickly. They had a bit of a mixup on who will be our server but once they figured it out they made up for it by adding an extra appetizer. The food arrived with the order of appetizers and once we were settled in we ordered the entree's. We tried the Fried Olives, Burrata, Frito Misto.his was the perfect start while we talked nd sipped on cocktails. We went to A16 Napa for Valentine's Day, so the restaurant was absolutely packed and the whole night felt a little chaotic. That said, the staff handled the rush really well and did a good job keeping things moving under the circumstances. Overall, the food was good. A couple things were a little off though: the bread was a bit dry and stale, and the shrimp and mussels dish came out colder than it should have. Even with those issues, we still had a pretty good experience overall. It was definitely a hectic night to visit, but A16 Napa still managed things well, and I'd be open to going back again on a less busy evening. read more

The food is wildly good. We had a sampling of many items on the menu: Focaccia - insane Fried olives - marvelous little flavor bombs Stone Fruit/beets - summertime in salad form Cauliflower - I will dream of that sauce forever Meatballs - how do they even get that perfect texture? Eight of us went for dinner . Sat at an awesome round table. Ordered two pizzas which were as if we were in Italy. Ready and delivered in minutes if not seconds!! Also got the cannolini beans and frito misto for apps. Our server was on point all night long .. we had the pork chop - delicious, cavatelli with oxtail that was amazing and cerrasco(?) pasta with crab and calamari in a delicious red sauce that was outstanding.. the salmon was also very tasty. We also had 3 salads , arugula and strawberries, fennel salad and one that was like a Caesar salad with anchovies and breadcrumbs with an awesome dressing.. the vibe in the place was very cool and laid back. We felt comfortable and stayed for a long time talking and laughing . We had such an amazing experience! We stopped by after our wine tasting and discovered a gem. The service was amazing. The staff proposed great items from the menu and engaged in great conversations. Now the food.... a lot of love put into the taste and preparation. Each bite was perfect and my wine paired nicely which was recommended by staff. I even had a second glass. I am really hoping that some of the poor reviews are due to new restaurant growing pains because my party and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We did have an early reservation, and we were glad because things were certainly filling up as we left. We were immediately greeted and seated. The décor is simple yet elegant and I appreciated the high ceilings. Our party stuck with cocktails for the night and wow were they delicious. Everything was well balanced and the cocktail with the olive oil in it was a unique yet utterly delicious experience. We started with the panzanella salad and the meatballs. The tomatoes were beautiful and I loved the addition of pickled onions to the salad. Holy cow (r pig I guess) the meatballs were truly amazing, I would make an entire meal out of them. They were hearty yet bright and flavorful all at the same time. Our group then shared two pizzas and a pasta. I feel the price for the value on the pizzas is quite reasonable. The pasta dish was amazing, just super bright and flavorful with the perfect chew. We took home some of the pizza so we could save room for dessert. We had such a hard time picking we ended up with three! Their gelato was creamy and full of lovely chocolate chunks. The tiramisu was presented as a cake, I loved the caramel sauce that went with it. For me the winner was the chocolate tarte (forget the actual name). It was almost like a chocolate mouse on a chocolate shortbread type crust. If it could go wrong, it did go wrong. We arrived and it was packed. It took a while to get our table, so luckily after about 15 minutes we saw a seat at the bar and ordered a cocktail which came quickly and professionally. It went totally downhill from there. It was to be a pairing dinner. Our bread came after about 15 minutes. The wine to be paired with it arrived about 20 minutes later. Bread was ok? Second course wine arrived with no second course. Third course wine with yet no second course. Hummm. Where is the food? When it finally arrived, the oyster was fresh, but the whatever with caviar was blah. The Margarita pizza finally arrived and was tasty. My pasta arrived a few minutes later and was great. That is where it defaulted. The next course and wine never arrived. We asked a couple times to no avail. We asked for the bill. They brought us a bag with one of the final entries and no dessert. I guess the good part is, they did not charge us for our cocktails and only half of the dinner. I would rather have great food served in a timely manner with the appropriate wine. The people on three of the tables near us had similar experiences (complaints). I would have to say, it did not make for a romantic Valentines dinner! It's like they transported The Marina's A16 into Napa (vibe and crowd)... BUT with a Kris Jenner facelift because this space is gorgeous! Came into the area looking for the dirty dog stall (Boom Glizzy's) and dude wasn't there so pizza for the drunchies! Opening yesterday, A16 in Napa is their 5th location. They're best known for their VPN Certified Pizzas = Verace Pizza Napoletana and housemade pastas. Currently, takeout and indoor dining available. Outdoor dining is in the works. For takeout, we ordered the same pizza we last had at their flagship Marina location. The Salsiccia ($27) had a perfectly blistered leopard spotted crust with an airy center and great chew. On point! The sausage, fior di latte, and broccolini could have been better distributed tho. Also, there was something that made it quite bitter. Super kind staff that provided us water while we waited for our pizza (ready in 5 minutes). I'm not familiar with the Italian food scene in wine country but A16 looks like it's going to be Napa's newest hot spot! read more

The food is really great and we love the menu and cocktails! The decor is beautiful! However, the noise level when sitting between two roudy groups (5 to our left and to the right , two that ended up joining the four) combined with normal noise level, makes for a really unfortunate experience. We literally could NOT hear one another! It was our anniversary and we certainly weren't looking for romantic, but conversation would have been nice. Outside looked fantastic though and seems a better spot for groups of 4 or more. And we are in our late 50's and have young adult children, so are used to noise! read more

We visited A16 Napa and started with the beet salad with ricotta, and pistachios. So yummy and a perfect fresh-starter. We also had the Brussels sprouts, tasty, but not spectacular. The king trumpet mushrooms had a delicious caper salsa verde, but I found them a little too chewy for my taste (I've never had trumpet mushrooms before so maybe that's how they are. We ordered the Vesuvio pizza, it was good but again, not spectacular. The interior design is so cute, the space is stylish and inviting, and the service was great. That said, for the price, the food didn't blow me away. It's a lovely spot and I'd recommend it for the ambiance and service, but I'd probably try somewhere new next time for something a bit more memorable. read more

I wish I could say the same about our server, Emily. She was rude, condescending, and unwelcoming. I asked about an update on our drinks and she snapped back at me. She also had such a rude tone when I had questions about the menu. My group of 4 ordered 2 margherita pizzas, 2 orders of steamed muscles and various drinks which included an old fashioned and "figgy smalls". The pizza was good. Drinks were ok. Double chop pork chop. Came out warm if best, not hot and well done / needs to be hotter and med rare at most. Fried frittes. OMG really goood. Get 'em!!! Lastly - melanzana raviolis. Not that good. The meat sauce is like mush and not flavorful at all. All in all I'd return and emphasize that I want my food hot by temperature. Really hot. Given our seating at 5:45 onna Tuesday night with only a couple tables occupied I feel that the kitchen could do a much better job in coordinating and delivering hot food instead of bringing items out over a 1.5 hour time period. Seated prominently at 1pm in a Saturday, but waited for attention over 15 mins. Was promised bread but had to remind the waiter of his offering. He was only somewhat wine educated, but needed glasses in order to read the menu. Overall the food was good which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. The space and decor are very nice but the food and service didn't quite live up to the same standard. Our experience started on an awkward note, as we felt unwelcome upon arrival. The hostess seemed visibly uncomfortable, and throughout the meal, we couldn't help but feel uneasy. We started our meal with the Burrata and Prosciutto. For our mains, we ordered two gluten-free pasta dishes: the Maccaronara and the Squid Ink Tonnarelli. While we appreciated the effort to accommodate dietary restrictions, both pastas arrived lukewarm and tasted similar (the same pasta was used for both dishes). The squid ink version had to be significantly altered, which wasn't explained to us when we ordered. Given the price point, we had hoped for a better experience. I'm glad we checked it out, and I'd be open to coming back in a few months once they've had a bit more time to work out some of the issues. read more

We could hear their conversation and I'm sure they could hear ours...not comfortable at all. Not crazy about being handed a dirty menu, either (you can think I'm a snob but hey, I think a restaurant that's drawing crowds like this should make an effort to hand out clean paper menus). Tried this spot out and like others have said, the decor and first impression of the place is really beautiful! Before being seated, we had to wait because they had ran out of menus... I feel bad for the hostess, I could tell she was embarrassed. The tables are very tight. I felt like I was eavesdropping on other conversations. Maybe they're trying to capture the Italian vibe with an intimate setting but this was smooshed, not intimate. We brought in a bottle of white wine and a bottle of red. The server never offered to put the white on ice, we had to ask for it. So much for being in Napa if you don't appreciate how to properly serve wine. I did like the cocktails, they were tasty and nicely presently, especially the Orange Julius. We ordered a couple of appetizers (salumi plate, burrata, and the fava beans). Nothing was bad but nothing I'm going to write home about. Very forgettable. The service was very slow, mainly just the server. He wasn't really warm or welcoming, but the bussers did an excellent job of keeping our water filled. We sat there for a bit (maybe 20 mins) before the server asked if we wanted to order dinner after enjoying our appetizers. At this point, we made the decision to not do dinner there and asked for the check. The server quickly brought our check and didn't offer to refill the white wine glasses (with the bottle we brought). Overall, you can tell this is a chain. There is not much heart or charm. For the first time I had a Ghia non-alcoholic drink. Very colorful and different. There is one thing that is truly disturbing that I experienced. It involves a dish that is not properly heated. One wonders why this should happen. As an appetizer meatballs were ordered. They were actually pretty good but would have been so much better if properly heated. To add insult to injury, a pork chop was ordered and that too was not properly heated. I'm not sure why they insist on cutting up the pork chop before bringing it to the table. Do they think that by deboning the pork chop you're doing the patron a favor? I think it's more like serving a lukewarm meat dish. Not a fan. By the way, the pork chop was delicious but could have been better. The char was incredible. It would have been better hotter and uncut. The Cavatelli was alright but nothing impressive. The oxtail presented in a different form would have been better. The tiramisu was very good. The Hudson Olive Oil Cake was fine but not as memorable as the tiramisu. Two parties thar were seared adjacent to us were having a good ole time. I think that had a somewhat negative influence on our level of service once that commenced. There is no doubt this is a popular place to dine. You just need to get some of the basics down. read more

So happy to have this amazing restaurant in Napa! The ambience and decor are gorgeous! They were having a featured wine the evening we were there and it was so good. The service was excellent. We ordered way more food than we usually do just because it all sounded so good. We loved the fava beans, the arugula salad was good but the peach wasn't very flavorful. Valentine's Day 2026 was, as others have mentioned, the worst restaurant experience of my life. We had reserved an outdoor table (credit card required for reservation) & were sat right away at 6pm by the very kind hostess. The tables were so close together, I could barely squeeze between them to get to the bench seating. There were plenty of heaters in the outdoor seating area, so I did stay warm throughout the night. Our waiter checked on us soon thereafter & explained the 5-course prix fixe menu (the 5th course being one dessert for 2 people to share). We were planning to order the wine pairing but the first course arrived without having our drink order taken with our waiter nowhere in sight. After finishing the first course, we were able to flag down the waiter & ordered cocktails & a bottle of champagne instead. The drinks arrived fairly promptly & so did the second course. Neither the cocktails nor the first 2 courses were particularly memorable. It was probably a little before 7pm by the time we finished eating the second course. We had to flag down our waiter again to put in our orders for the third & fourth courses. The third course (a pizza & a pasta) did not arrive until just before 8pm. My Margherita pizza was undercooked with very little mozzarella & basil on it. Tables all around us were having similar issues with slow service/food delivery. Our waiter apologized to us once over the course of 3 hours but didn't offer any explanations or solutions. By 9pm, we still had not received the fourth course & approached the hostess stand to request a manager as we just wanted the night to end. The manager was apologetic & agreed to comp us for everything except the champagne. While this was an appropriate compromise at that point, we still left hungry & frustrated on a night that should have been the opposite. We had made this reservation in order to scope out the restaurant for our rehearsal dinner, as we're getting married in Napa in October. Although the space is beautiful & we have had great experiences at the SF location, we will not be eating at A16 Napa again & certainly not using it for our big event. read more

Sadly the last few reviews have been exactly on par with the restaurants experience. Firstly, we arrived at 6 pm for our reservations and based on the booking, it should have been a 1.5 hour meal. The full 5 course experience took 3. 5 hours! Many other tables around us experienced the same and we had a full 1.5 hour drive home so it was especially frustrating. The first course was timely as well as the second, then between the second and third course we waited a full hour for any food to be brought. They then brought the fourth course instead of the third ( which we aren't picky about), but when we asked about our third course meal they had forgotten to bring it out. The waiter said that had been happening all evening. We waited another 45 minutes for our forgotten third course meal. Our dessert also took a while and at that point we were considering leaving early but decided to stay since we only had one course left. They brought out dessert, waited 20 minutes, brought another dessert (the waiter said he didn't know we already had one?) and left before we could ask for a check. We waited AGAIN to get the check and leave. Throughout the evening, the staff did little to check on us (except for assuring us the next course would be out soon), did not seem apologetic for the long wait time, and when we declined to leave a tip, we received a displeased look from our waiter. Overall, extremely disappointed. The food was ok, but the service was horrible. It seems like they were not properly equipped to handle such a large crowd. read more

We (a party of 7) tried this place on the first weekend after they opened, so a few days after their opening. All-in-all, we had a very good meal, and everyone liked the restaurant. A16 has 4 locations, with Napa being (I think!) the newest. They are known for their Roman-style pizza plus a nice menu of Italian/California food. Or, rather, Italian food with a California twist. For anyone from East Coast area, this is not your typical east coast Italian restaurant. All 7 of us enjoyed our meal. We started with some shared appetizers; Burrata, braised pork meatballs, and zucchini salad. The Burrata was quite good, the meatballs were also good (we have a family recipe from my Sicilian Nonna which is, of course, the best), and the zucchini salad was delicious. Most of us opted for either pizza or pasta. Again, we are pizza/pasta snobs, and our selections did not disappoint. The sauces on the pasta were good, the pasta was cooked slightly al dente but not al chewy, and the pizza was excellent. For dessert, many of us opted for the Tiramisu. My daughter and I are (of course) Tiramisu snobs, and we both agreed that this Tiramisu was good BUT: they put caramel on it. Caramel does not belong on Tiramisu! Once I drizzled a few spoonfuls of espresso coffee onto it, it was much better. To be fair, we prefer a "coffee-forward" Tiramisu, some might like it with less coffee flavor. The service was good. Our waiter was pleasant, and made some good suggestions. He had their wine expert come over to help us select a bottle, which turned out to be very good. A Primitivo from Italy. Note: the restaurant is VERY loud. If your hearing is not the best, go early before it fills up. We sat down around 6:30, and the restaurant was already full, including just about every spot at the bar. We left at around 9, and the restaurant was still very full, very loud, and there were people waiting outside for tables.
