Sooooo disappointed!!! I'd been craving light, fluffy, crispy stone fire pizza forever! And after a wine tasting event, I thought "finally, I can enjoy a pizza, hot and tasty." Fell flat, FLAT is the word!!! Look at that non-crust!! Like what is that?!!!! $40 for flat Formaccio??? You should be ashamed to serve that thin piece of whatever that is!! Especially on the main strip in Napa on a Sunday afternoon! Has everything really gone down hill? Look at the photos of pizza from just a couple of years ago, drastically different! Stone fruit and burrata salad were very yummy! Loved the smokiness from the grilled peach. The pizza was pretty good with a nice amount of pepperoni. The pasta was fine. Tucked away on First Street in downtown Napa, this place is a gem. Beautiful dining room with a cozy bar tucked away in the back. We've been here several times over the years and have always enjoyed the consistently excellent Italian cuisine and outstanding pizzas. They have more than 20 varieties of house-made salumi and fresh handmade pasta . And whenever you see a blazing brick pizza oven, it's usually a good sign that pizza will be on our table. My go-to pizza is the Funghi, topped with crema, Manchego cheese, cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions, and parsley. The crust is beautifully blistered and crisp, yet still has a wonderful toothsome, chewy texture. Another favorite is the Fidei all'Arrabbiata, featuring San Marzano tomatoes, onion, chili, and pangrattato. This classic Roman pasta dish is tossed in a fiery "angry" tomato sauce, earning its name from the kick of fresh or dried red chilies infused in olive oil. Simple, bold, and packed with flavor. Oenotri is a small restaurant in downtown Napa with the entranced tucked away inside a courtyard. There is a small bar tucked away in the corner should you want to come in and sit at the bar instead of main dining area. We ate here several years ago and decided to dine at a familiar spot our first night in town. We arrived and our hostess and server Devany seated us. Devany was very sweet and attentive and always had a smile in her face. Even though there was a large party sat next to us, it was not too loud in the restaurant, even though a small venue and we were able to carry on a nice conversation. For the table, we ordered the Mixed lettuces with my Meyer lemon vinaigrette & parmigiana- reggiano cheese. Although very simple, this was very tasty and quite refreshing. We also ordered the Margarita Pizza. Thin crust with san marzano tomatoes, four de latte and basil. I'm torn on this one. It was good but already cold when served. I feel $30 is much too expensive for a small pizza such as this. The Crecenza polenta was delicious. Creamy and flavorful. This is a good option for a starter dish for the table. I ordered the Pappardelle- Braised beef, cremini mushrooms, garlic, onions, red wine. This was very good and a generous portion. Overall we had a nice dining experience and will return. read more

I must admit ... I've tried a handful of restaurants in Napa and none of them really blew my mind. We've been to Italian restaurants we just randomly looked up on Yelp and they have been kind of disappointing for the most part. I made another trip up here for a little solo staycation for my friends birthday, and didn't really have plans for dinner. This restaurant was close to my hotel and conveniently located in downtown Napa so I decided to give it a shot. Initially, when I walked in, they told me that they were fully booked (including the bar). Just before I was about to leave, someone came up to me and told me they could clear up the chefs counter for me, which was amazing! I had the sweetest server who was constantly checking up on me, and even gave me a taste of their Calabrian chili because I said I liked spice. Once I took a look at the menu, I instantly knew what I wanted - the beef papardelle with mushrooms. It came out piping hot, a good portion, noodles were cooked perfectly, and it was incredibly tasty. I would 100% come back again for that pasta, and ++ for a delicious extra dirty martini as well! read more

Had lunch here with several girlfriends during a ladies weekend... Pros- food. Everything we ordered was extremely tasty. Their pizza is perfectly made, I didn't order it, but wish I had (next time!) I had a small slice from a friend and enjoyed every bite! I ordered their steak which was cooked to my desired temperature (medium rare) and also very delicious. Service was also great! A little confusing since we had the two brothers....luckily they wore two different shirts, but their resemblance at first confused me (I'm slow!)! We had a wonderful dinner at Oenotri. First of all we had the focaccia bread with one of the best olive oil I have ever tasted - and I was in Italy a few months ago. We had a party of 5 with a reservation and were seated promptly and had fully attentive and friendly service. For food I had the busa pasta which was delicious, my wife had the halibut which she loved, and my daughter had a vegan pizza which she claims is one of the best she ever had. Lovely Italian place for dinner while staying in Napa, definitely make a reservation in case they are busy - the restaurant was almost full when we arrived (their entrance is confusingly located inside the alley, not facing the main street, which we missed the first loop around). I really enjoyed the beet salad, but I just wish it was slightly larger for the price. That aside, all the pasta and pizza dishes sounded good so we had a hard time deciding what to get - ultimately, we opted for the formaggi pizza and added pancetta, and the special pasta of the day which was a ragu lasagna. The pizza won out for us over the lasagna, but the pizza was also a tad on the expensive side for the portion ($38). The lasagna was fine, but felt a bit basic for $25. Service was good, nothing fancy but they were attentive for how busy they were. All in all, we enjoyed the meal and would come back. Given they are located downtown, look for street parking, or for a spot in the public lots which are all walkable within a few blocks. read more

The food was honestly pretty good but honestly it's a miracle we waited for it to come out. My friend and I went here for a girls' trip and thought it would be a nice spot for dinner. We arrived for our 6:15 reservation and our food didn't come out until 7:30. Not once did anyone come to our table to tell us there was a delay, mix up, etc. I would've rather left to go elsewhere but we were so hungry. Delicious pasta in a great spot! Everything here is a good choice, and the pasta is fresh and delicious. We shared two appetizers and three pastas between three people and came home with leftovers. Portions are a good size, and we each had a different favorite pasta so you really can't go wrong. Was in the area for the day and we found this place on Yelp so we made a reservation just in case it was busy on the weekend. We arrived early and it was busy so they sat us down right away. Our waitress came over right away, gave us some waters, and took are drink orders. We ordered some wine from a couple local wineries and they both were good. Our main dishes were the Cresta Di Gallo, Trumpetti Pork Rago, and the Pancetta Wrapped Rabbit. All of our dishes were cooked great, nice flavor, noodles were al denti, the rabbit was tender, and the rago was delicious as well. The service was great regardless of the restaurant not being busy. Visiting Napa on a Wednesday no real plans for dinner. Found ourselves downtown so went to our go to Oenotri. For a weeknight it was fairly busy but not full. Service was good but nothing memorable. Jeremiah was fairly attentive but was busy with a bigger table. Our food arrived within a reasonable time and temperature appropriate. Their pasta was spot on the brussels sprouts were outstanding. I'd highly recommend them. After we completed dinner, we had to wait an unreasonable time for them to clear the plates and I had to ask for the check. After asking I still Waited a bit before receiving the check. All and all a good experience and a good choice for your pasta and pizza needs. read more

This was one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Napa, especially because we usually stay at the Andaz across the street. Last night the dinner service seemed off though. It took over an hour to get our pasta (arrabiata) and the simple salad came to the table only shortly before that. We were considering just getting the check as our server arrived with new plates and silverware and we jokingly double checked we still had food coming. The tables around us, larger parties that sat well after us, received their dishes before we did. The server did take off a glass of wine that I ordered in the beginning and did not prefer, which was nice considering it was my fault and not due to her recommendation. I absolutely had high hopes for Oenotri but sadly, disappointed with food and service. Let me start with the two star rating. One is for the mixed green salad that had flavor and the other for our busser not waiter who was attentive in getting us waters and providing a bucket of ice for our wine. That's the two generous stars for this restaurant. With open table app, I was able to get a reservation for four with no problem. However, the service is lacking. Poor Jeremiah seemed like he had all the tables to himself and we did not get the attention we need. The appetizers came quick but the entrees took a while. Inconsistent to say the least. Now the food. Pizza prices are $30 for super thin 12 inch with so so taste. The linguini, forget it. Don't even order as it was bland, no flavor at all. It's pasta with cream sauce and maybe 6 pcs of mussels. It's tough for me to go back. There's a lot more options in Napa and this place should be skipped. read more

Came here for dinner based on a friend's suggestion who heard that the cast of the film Wine Country ate here while filming in the area. We made a reservation in advance (for dinner on a Saturday night), and it's good that we did, because it was pretty full when we arrived. The restaurant is spacious and a bit on the dimmer side, but there's nice natural light that comes in. I really enjoyed the Focaccia Classica (accompanied with olive oil). We also ordered the Mixed Lettuces salad, which honestly kind of just tasted like a Caesar salad but with a meyer lemon vinaigrette dressing. For my main, I ordered the Fidei all'Arrabbiata which was good but definitely spicy. I also tried a bit of the Cavatappi pasta (with clams) which was good as well! Food was good, if a bit salty. Problem was the service. We were there with our two young kids and let them know we needed their food fast. After a bit we asked for an update. Their printer broke so they needed to put the order in again. Waited more, asked for another update. Finally the kids' and my food comes out. My wife's is missing though. We give them a few more minutes and then ask again. The waiter had clearly forgotten it entirely. By the time that comes out everyone else had finished which is never a good experience. All of this could have been excused except that no one ever checked in on us, we were always the ones asking. And when a waiter did talk to us we never felt heard. We got passive aggressive statements like "I have to be able to go to the kitchen to fix this". Both servers we flagged down were like this. No good apology. No follow ups. Supposedly the manager was told but no manager came to talk to us. Good service is about listening to and hearing your customers. read more

We had dinner at Oenotri in downtown Napa, and overall it was an excellent experience with a couple of standout dishes that really impressed us. The Trumpetti Ragù was absolutely outstanding -- rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The pasta's texture was spot-on, and the sauce clung beautifully to each bite -- easily one of the best dishes we've had in Napa. My wife had the Porchetta alla Diavolo, which unfortunately didn't live up to the rest. The pancetta was soggy and overly fatty, missing that crispness that gives porchetta its signature contrast. The flavors were fine, but the texture really missed the mark. We ended on a high note with the Chocolate Panna Cotta paired with a Moscadello di Montalcino -- silky, bittersweet, and perfectly balanced. The hazelnut cookie added just the right amount of crunch and nuttiness, and the wine pairing elevated the chocolate beautifully. Came here to celebrate a friends birthday. We wanted to try out a place we hadn't been. It was a quiet night so we were seated right away, it took a few minutes for our server to come to the table. The menu is small which can be good if you don't want to be overloaded by choices. We got the focaccia with olive oil and the cheese pizza for the table. The focaccia was tasty, the pizza was meh. For the price I was hoping it would be more. It was on the thin side and lacked flavor. The entrees were ok but again for the price I wish there was more.
