I really want to give this adorable wine bar only 4 stars because of one of the employees, but that wouldn't be fair. Let me start by saying this wine bar had an amazing vibe. The front windows were open, bringing the outside in, and there were multiple seating areas that could accommodate groups of all sizes. They even had a big-screen TV showing the World Cup game. Everything about this place was a yes for our semi-large group. When we sat down, we were warmly greeted by a woman in a yellow shirt. I believe her name was Shea. She was amazing and definitely not the reason I considered taking off a star. Shea was lovely, attentive, and took great care of our group. There were quite a few great wines on the menu. The flights were a little on the pricey side, but hey, this is downtown Napa. Overall, we were enjoying our family time, but there was one sour grape working that day. I'm not sure of her name, but she was wearing a black shirt and had dirty blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail. She looked unpleasant and like she wasn't happy to be there. Normally, I wouldn't write about someone I didn't directly interact with, but I can't get over the way she spoke to her coworker, Shea. She was condescending and bossed her around. At one point, I watched her interrupt Shea while she was helping other guests by calling out to her from behind the bar. She didn't seem to care about any of the patrons, almost as if they were an inconvenience. Will definitely be back but only when the sour grape isn't working. read more

Went to Mia Carta for a Love Island watch party as I was visiting Napa at the time of the finale. I was so happy to be there and I really enjoyed my white wine and truffle popcorn while watching the show. The server didn't really come back around after we were settled with our wines, and we had to ask for the check, but I do think she was there later than usual due to the watch party and was the only one there. read more

It was a complete pleasure stopping in during the afternoon at Mia Carta! It's a beautiful tasting room, nicely remodeled, and has a lovely open concept. We felt so welcomed from the minute we walked in, and were treated to genuine knowledgeable and friendly service. We were delighted to find exactly the bottle of wine we wanted to try (and at a very reasonable price)! We loved our stop at Mia Carta. It's a very cute and comfortable spot. Love that the windows open wide. It was breezy and it was a bit surreal to watch the hanging lights swing back and forth. Watching them swing, one would think it was an earthquake. Thankfully it was clear the wind was making them move. Servers were very well versed about the wines available. They made sure they understood our preferences and worked from there. The experience, overall, was top notch. This is a great stop for wine tasting. Obsessed with this tasting room! We had a big party of 10 people and a few pups and when the rainy weather ruined our plans at another winery, we had to scramble for a last minute back-up plan. I called Alejandro at Mia Carta and he was happy to accommodate! The ambiance is unmatched. Super cool interior and the menu was very expansive. We did a combination of a couple of bottles for the table and flights, as well as a few charcuterie boards. Highly recommend this spot for big groups! Stumbled upon this winery when walking downtown. Had been opened for just over a month. The custom made wooden decor drew us in. Lovely and fantastic staff. In the world of hospitality, service is foundational and my experience with Mia Carta deserves a zero, but not an option. I made a reservation weeks in advance and called rather than use Tock for the express reason it was for a holiday and wanted to be clear that they'd be open. They assured me they'd be open and took my reservation. Fast forward to the day before the holiday when they call me to cancel. But wait, it gets worse. The guy who called me says to me that I must have made the reservation just before he cut off reservations on the app for that holiday. Nope! I called and spoke to a human and was quite clear. I didn't argue but found the whole thing laughable. Just say you decided to close, especially when Tock was still taking reservations for that day. (I checked.) It's no big deal that they decide to close for a holiday, but it is a big deal when you flat out lie and cancel on a party of six the day before a holiday, making it near impossible to find a replacement. Worst customer service ever. read more

SUPERB! We were drawn in by the contemporary and inviting decor -- which Mia Carta has in spades -- but, what an amazing wine experience to be had with their exciting approach to partnering with super premium direct-to-consumer wineries and offering unique flight experiences based out of those relationships. At the end of our evening, after dinner, we were seated at a fun corner table with sweeping views and provided with their menu. You can choose by the glass or bottle, or, wine flights by varietal, by winery, from white to red, 'soft reds', or even varietal across super premium winery which is where we landed. Their cab flight featured four cabs, two cabs in the $80/bottle range, and two cabs in the $120/bottle range for $55. Generous pours in a shared flight with my wife, along with a tutored tasting from one of their knowledgeable staff allowed us to truly appreciate high end cabs and we brought a bottle of our favorite home. On the wine bag, they had thoughtfully attached a pewter key chain with the Mia Carta name and website looped through the bag handle -- my wife was delighted and asked 'what's this?'. The response 'we wanted to ensure you didn't forget it us'. Well, we certainly will not -- please give Mia Carta a visit when you are next in Napa. SUPERB! read more
