Apparently I came in on an evening where it was a bit more slow than usual, but TJ was great and made you feel right at home as she worked her way around the bar. I did a tasting and while I didn't "love" anything, I did enjoy glasses of the Picpoul and Chenin Blanc. For me, this feels more of a place I'd come in to hang out and relax with a glass rather than do a tasting... but you do, afterall, need to figure out what you like! read more

We stopped in here as we are from out of town. The man working the bar allowed our family and our dogs in to enjoy some wine and board games. It was a very enjoyable experience, I wish I had taken more pictures. I would definitely come back again it was fun and relaxing. Maybe try adding non alcoholic beverages and water to your menu for the family. Also, the decor could use an update with something more pleasing to the eyes. Perfect wine bar to do a tasting at. My boyfriend and I spent a day exploring downtown Napa. I'm so glad we included Rebel Vintners as one of our stops. We went around 3pm on a Saturday and did the $30 6 wine flight. There were a fair amount of other groups inside at both the bar area and tables. There was still plenty of seating available though so we had no wait even as a walk-in. We enjoyed all 6 of the wines and my favorite was the Uncharted 2019 Pet Nat. It was so crisp and was just such a refreshing sparkling wine! My boyfriend really liked the Uncharted 2012 red blend since it was really smooth and had great taste to it. The tasting itself is a great deal and has one of the best prices we saw in the area. The staff was also very kind and informative. We even met the man who bottled the 2012 red himself! Great person to talk to and I'd love to come back next time we're back in Napa. read more

We started our day with me commenting on how everyone has a story about how pretentious Napa can be, and how I've never had that experience in my years going. Well maybe I jinxed myself! If you are looking for pretentious and condescending tasting experience at only $40/per person, you've found your place! Yes, the spot itself is cool, but it doesn't make up for the subpar wine (both reds and whites served in the same glasses) and the rude behavior from the bartender. We were done with our tastings after this place and went over to Charlie Palmer Steakhouse for a martini which they gladly served us with a smile. I am so light weight and I rarely finish my drinks most of the time so I avoid getting alcohol drinks at most places since I can't finish them, I'll probably be drunk, and don't want to spend the money on it if I'm not going to finish it lol. But the wines we got to try was great. Most of the time I'm not a crazy about it but some of these were really good! I really like the white wines they had. The red wines were great where it has more of a bolder taste to it. The red blend was definitely interesting and you can taste the different tastes in one sip. Again, I'm not a wine expert so I can't describe the different tastes but you get an initial taste, a blend flavor, and then an after taste. I am also not a huge fan of wine that are extra dry but most of these weren't too dry. I believe the staff that was helping us was name Steven. He was great and very kind. He even offered us a 7th sampler of another red wine. I didn't get the name but that was so nice of him to do that even though at that point I'm already starting to feel it haha. Such a fun and relaxed wine bar in a town full of stuff, formal wine bars. Hubby and I shared a bottle of rose perfect for a warm summer night. The staff were friendly and outgoing and they leave you alone for the most part when you're playing their their board games, arcade and jenga. Found this spot by pure chance and loved that their entire tasting room was filled with an eclectic group of people coming together to dabble in the Napa Wine Tasting experience. This location is conveniently located in downtown Napa beside some decent eateries in case you get a bit too tipsy to make the drive home or back to your lodging. Maybe call ahead because the hours said they close at 6p, but they were still open when we finished our dining nearby around 715p. Very warm and welcoming venue, John was one of the best hosts/wine experts we have experienced for a full warm welcoming experience. Love that they have a little bit for everyone. There are some bar seats, of course.. but also some picnic style seating along the windows to one side of the building and on the other there are comfy couches and loungers along the main street side of windows. Very warm and almost the feel of being in your own living room with friends. Couple TVs showing the NFL games (so everyone wins!) and even a vintage arcade game in the corner. Sampling Flights are reasonably priced and you get to really experience the differences this location has to offer. Highly recommend giving this non-standard spot a try, we bought 5 bottles! They have books and table games if you are interested in that. Also, they are well priced. There is plenty of street parking and it's good for doggies due to its outside seating. So disappointed. I walk by this tasting room all the time when I work in Napa and finally stopped in with some coworkers. We were wildly disappointed the wines were not good. I don't even know how to describe it. This is the first tasting room I've dumped almost every glass and so did my friends. The tasting is $30! Only way to get it comp'd is to buy 3 bottles?! I'd say it must be a Napa thing but I've been to other rooms that are way better and way better priced in Napa. The guy working didn't seem interested in anything going on either. This was the worse tasting room experience. We did their tasting which was 3 white and 3 reds. No one in that place wears a mask. None of the employees. After we did our first flight of white, the guy with the beard came over and poured our reds in the same glasses that we had drank our white!!! I have never seen anywhere do that. I asked him (kindly) if it's standard to reuse our white glasses to pour red. He stumbled with an answer that it's better to reuse glasses then use clean ones from the dishwasher. Waste of money. I am so bummed to have had a pretty bad experience at this cute tasting room in downtown Napa. My friends and I went in for a quick glass or tasting before dinner and left quite angry at how we'd been treated/shorted. The tasting offers 6 tastings for $30-- three white and three red. In my experience, this is a pretty common spread for a tasting and you are typically offered between one to three ounces per pour. However, paying $30 for less than ONE glass of wine each due to measly pours is not common. Here's how it happened: John (the only man in the shop), introduced himself as the sole owner and employee of Rebel. He mentioned he had worked at most of the wineries he was pouring from and had a bit to say about each wine when conducting the tasting. While that was all well and fine, John poured less than one ounce each of wine-- equaling about 5ish ounces total. I refuse to pay $30 for less than one collective glass' worth of wine. Especially when they've been priced at $40+ A GLASS, each. Upon prompting John about being shorted he said "I'm pouring probably more than I should, actually. The standard is one ounce and Im pouring one to 1.5 ounces in your glasses, getting close to two." I wanted to say " would you like to get a measuring glass? Because I can assure you this is not even close to an ounce let alone two. " Furthermore, in a group of three, we have committed to spending $90 at your shop in hopes of tasting some good wine and maybe even buying a glass-- it is incredibly rude and terrible customer service to tell customers you get what you get. A bigger pour this time around will not kill you-- especially when it's what we've paid for. I was genuinely shocked at the amount of wine given for $30, the pretentiousness of the owner, the wine and the prices on the menu. Long story short, dont go here unless you feel like wasting your hard earned money on poor customer service and itty bitty pours. And while the wine we did have was good-- I will not be paying $42 for a glass of wine when I can spend that much on an equally as good bottle of wine. read more

It was a very quiet vibe, felt more fancy wine tasting place than the casual vibe the other reviews made it sound like (and we were looking for). There were games, and we chose a quiet one bc I think the Jenga was there more for looks than for play haha. The wine was fine, but in Napa you are literally surrounded by good wine so you gotta be special somehow. You can do a tasting flight for $30 (though the price may change depending on what is on the flight each day), or you can get a glass of wine. All the guys were super nice and it's such a treat to A) get to talk to the winemakers and learn from them, B) try some non-stereotypical varietals (Carignan, Verdejo, Tempranillo, AMADOR Zinfandel and a Chard what wasn't just butter and oak), and C) people who genuinely seems to enjoy being there and talking with patrons as more than a transaction. The friend's card was charged and then they put 2 charges totaling around $260 on second card for no reason. We are trying to reach them for this issue and they are not even getting back. Good wine and loved the laid back atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were forgotten about when there was a change of staff. We weren't in a hurry so it was not a huge deal, just slightly annoying. We did notice another couple was also forgotten about and they ended up cutting their tasting short and leaving midway through. The other thing that made our experience less than great was the staff's dog who was running about. I love dogs and would have no issue with a trained one or even semi-trained dog but this cutie was running around wildly, jumping on the couches, humping/biting the pillows and barking loudly if he was put on leash.
