The living room/couch set up is COMFORTABLE with a great view of all the goodies for purchase. 4. Adam Housley walked in, greeted all the patrons, and truly made us feel welcomed. My friend and I Ubered an hour North to Napa for an afternoon away. We didn't plan much besides our lunch. After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. This was our first visit coming into Napa. My sister and I had a girls weekend for my birthday. We were huge fans of Tamera and Tia, growing up so coming here was a no brainer. Paris was very helpful recommending wines to try and made our visit very enjoyable. We quickly found out my sister is not a red wine gal, and he quickly substituted her glass with white wine. Housley gets a 5/5 from me and it's all about the vibe. Honestly the music pulled us in before we even made a decision. We popped in and immediately started taking pictures because the space was just that cute. Clean, simple, family pictures on the walls and still so appealing. Paris greeted us and made us feel right at home. He broke everything down and let us take our time with the menu. Once we made our selections the fun really started. The tastings were everything and the conversation made it even better. The music had us singing every song and faking on the ones we didn't know. LOL Toward the end Brie brought it all home. Housley was a must see on my list while visiting Napa. This location does not take reservations so it's a first come first serve winery. Because there isn't much seating, it's very easy to get busy, so be sure to make sure to arrive earlier in the day. This tasting was one of the more affordable tastings, but don't let the low cost mean low quality, these wines were delicious! This tasting is select as you go, so you're able to select wines from lists of reds and whites. You're educated about the wine per pour, and you're provided with a detailed list of wines with prices if you want to purchase a bottle to go. The menu also offers additional add on pairings, so we selected the chocolate pairing. Each chocolate is paired with a wine, and the strawberry milk chocolate was my favorite! Almost a decade ago my wife and I visited the Housley's Century Oak Winery where we enjoyed a few of their offerings at the time, purchased some bottles, and were fortunate to meet Tamera Housley (I was a huge Sister Sister fan as a kid). Recently, after enjoying a good Cab at nearby JaM Cellars, my wife and I + another couple made our way to the Housley tasting room. I was totally unaware that they have a tasting room in Napa, so I was elated to experience their wines almost ten years later! When we entered the tasting room, we were warmly greeted by two employees behind the counter who were graciously assisting a large party. Since it was a fairly warm day, we opted to sit outside. Shortly after getting settled, one of the employees by the name of Mo, provided us with menus and Halloween candy for our friend's daughter. The four of us opted to taste five wines for $25 a person. Although they were fairly busy, Mo did a great job of checking in on us, and always seemed to magically appear as we were putting the finishing touches on a tasting. My only gripe (I'm using this word loosely) is that there was no background information provided pertaining to the wines that we tasted. There is a bar next door that has food options; therefore, if you have an appetite, you can place an order and bring it over to the tasting room. We spent a few days in Napa and Housley was the highlight for me! I'm not into the $85 wine tasting experiences... I just want to hang out and drink good wine without having to make an advance reservation... and you can do that here. We walked in on a Tuesday afternoon, and received a warm welcome from Mo. He directed us to sit wherever we wanted, and arrived to our table with water and menus shortly after. I enjoyed a tasting of 5 wines for $25 and my boyfriend got tips for where to find good beer & cocktails later! Of course I was hoping for a Tamera sighting, but we did get a quick hello from Adam when he popped in midway through my tasting. He came right over and ensured we were taken care of... the hospitality was authentic and warm. I'll be honest... a lot of Napa is boujee and feels almost a little too exclusive for me. But Housley is a place for anyone who loves wine. My future wine tasting expeditions will probably take me to less boujee regions (Lodi, Santa Rosa, Placerville, etc)... but if I do find myself back in Napa for some reason, I'll make it a point to stop here. When I checked around for vineyards in Napa, they were all bougie and wanted me to make a reservation in advance. Boooo lol. Thankfully we found this spot and the icing on the cake was that it's owned by Tamara and her family. We were able to get a parking space right across the street in a 2 hour parking space. When we walked in, the music and the vibe was so welcoming. The staff was welcoming as well. They told us to grab a seat at any open spot. We found one and they brought a menu. To put it simply, Housley Napa is A WHOLE VIBE!! At least, it was when I spent my birthday (Nov 8) there, and that also had a lot to do with my friends, another group of ladies that was also there, as well as the staff. Quite honestly, I had only planned to do a wine tasting there and then have lunch, where I would cut my birthday cake (it was in a box since I had it delivered to me while at breakfast that morning from a bakery in Fairfield). Well, lunch ended up being canceled, Happy Birthday was sung to me there, I cut my cake (shared with my friends, patrons having wine there, and the staff), and danced. Paris and Tavita really made my time there feel so celebrated, and it was my first time in Napa. Tavita also line-danced with us (and he was sooooo good at it - literally better than me)! My friends and I did do a wine tasting while there and the wine is really good. Before leaving, we all purchased a few items and I picked two bottles of wine and some bourbon to have shipped to me. And while there were no full and formal wine descriptions during our tasting like at other places you may visit in Downtown Napa, it does not take away from how good the wine is or the vibe that is there. I know many people go with the hopes of seeing Tamera or Adam. But honestly, the real superstars are Paris, Tavita, and Owen. They do an amazing job of making you feel welcome and like family. Came in for a wine tasting. You can try 5 of the wines. It kind of felt rushed. There were two gentleman working and one was being trained and the other one was kind of showing him the ropes. The pours were inconsistent. At one point the bottle was nearly empty and they legit poured a drop in my glass and my friends glass instead of opening up a new bottle. I've been wine tasting many places and I was shocked at this. Despite that, the actual tasting room is trendy, loved the music! We purchased a bottle of the dessert wine to share. One of the highlights of my trip to the Northern California region! I was staying in Fairfield, CA, and decided to pop over to Napa. I have been a longtime follower of Tamara Mowry-Housley, so visiting Housley Napa Valley had been on my list for a while. I am not a sommelier, but I am an internationally recognized Certified Specialist of Wine and have done extensive viticulture studies. So, you know I had to check it out! I made sure to approach the tasting from a wine appreciation perspective rather than just as a fan. THE WINE WAS AMAZING! The parking isn't far from the entrance to the tasting room, but since there are many establishments in the area, finding a spot could be challenging. There is outdoor seating, but I chose to sit inside. I visited the tasting room alone, but at no point did I feel alone. The music and overall ambiance were very inviting and encouraging. There was another woman enjoying a glass of wine to my right, and we chatted briefly. The customer service is top-notch! Two gentlemen were working the tasting room that day, and they interacted with guests in a way that felt natural and comfortable. You could tell they had great relationships with the locals and truly treated every guest equitably. The seating was cozy and comfortable--it truly felt like I was in someone's living room. There was a lot of merchandise available for purchase. I opted for two tasting experiences, which allowed me to sample 10 wines for $50. I have been wanting to come here since I moved to the Bay Area! Originally I went to Tamera's other location out in Lodi or whatever it's called but this is the one I have always wanted to come to! Finally I made it!! It was so worth it too! Although small I loved the welcoming feel it has as you walk in with family photos all over the wall and the cutest decor! We ordered wine and sat and chatted away with the sommelier's! Honestly it was a better experience talking with her about wine than I had at one of the other wineries in town she was really knowledgeable. I wish I could remember her name but she was fantastic! Also let's be honest I came here in the hopes of running into Tamera and being able to take a photo with her. Unfortunately I had just missed her so that was a huge disappointment but it just gives me reason to return! At the last visit to her other winery I bought some merch you know a little shirt and bottle of their brandy that they also produce and it's top quality! So of course I had to do the same thing here! We stopped in on Houseley in a whim. It was Saturday afternoon, we'd recently wrapped up our reservation for a tasting at another winery, and we had some time to kill in Napa Valley. So I called a couple of other tasting rooms I'd been interested in when originally planning our itinerary and Houseley was the one that had space and opportunity for us to just pop in. They don't accept reservations so it's truly a first come/first served experience. It's a small/compact tasting room compared to the others we visited but it's very open and homey at the same time. Based on some of the things I read while there, I gathered that the space is designed to feel like you're in the family living room. The staff is awesome! They feel very down to earth in a relaxed way. It feels like you're hanging out in a space run by your cousins and friends and then they hit you with the background on the wine they're pouring just like any other winery. I don't know how to describe it other than to say that the living room vibe is both about the decor and about the company you'll find in the staff. The bathroom is single-use and very clean. AND...it has a skinny mirror!! You know how some mirrors make everything appear thinner? Yeah, it's one of those. So I was looking slim and trim in there! Now, about the merchandise: I'd bought shirts at all other wineries we visited but Housley had an array of snacks and cooking products (oils and sauces and such) so I bought some house-made chips (the Maui onion flavor) and and chocolate toffee caramels. While in Napa for the weekend, we went to this cute little wine tasting place. This Place happened to be owned by the actress Tia Mowry-Housley and her husband. The place was very cute. I Loved the decor and the pictures of the Housley family throughout the place. Nice amount of seating for inside and outside. I tried a red blend which was nice and smooth. The service was excellent. A gentleman with a cute ponytail to the side assisted us and made our experience fun. They have games you can play and they sale chocolates, popcorn, chips, etc. You can also buy souvenirs for loved ones or friends (T-shirt and hats). Housley Napa Valley has a lot going for it. Its stylish space, great music, and some seriously good wine. The vibe is relaxed but refined, with a modern design that makes you want to hang out for a while. The playlist was on point the whole time, which really elevated the atmosphere. We especially loved the Sister Wine and Sonoma Late Harvest both were standouts and worth coming back for. The dessert wine in particular was a highlight and paired perfectly with the laid-back afternoon. That said, there were a couple of hiccups. We ordered the charcuterie board, but were told some of the ingredients weren't available even though it was early in the day and heading into the weekend. Kind of a letdown, especially since I was interested in trying more of what they sell on-site. Not being able to sample some of the perishables made me hesitant to make additional purchases. Overall, I'd recommend stopping by if you're in Napa and want a casual, enjoyable tasting experience, but I'd also suggest going in with moderate expectations.
