Worst winery experience I've ever had. I was visiting on a girls' trip and have been to many wineries in the area, but this was by far the most disappointing. When we arrived, there were only about 10 people in the tasting room. Another winery across the street had told us they accepted walk-ins, so we stopped by expecting a welcoming experience. Instead, we were met with extreme rudeness and were told we would not be served unless we purchased a bottle and paid an additional $15 "service fee per person." The entire interaction felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily hostile. There are so many fantastic wineries nearby that value their guests and provide great hospitality. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I would not return and would not recommend it to others visiting the area. read more

My friends and I did a wine tasting at this beautiful winery. The employees are so wonderful; friendly and really make you feel welcome. We sat out on the patio and had spectacular views and just the best experience. Our friend is a member and we understand why. We tasted: 2024 Grenache Rosé 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Méthode Béton 2023 Chardonnay, Kite Tail 2023 Pinot Noir, Mariafeld 2022 Henry's Keep, Red Wine The Seasonal Cheese Plate has perfect pairings with the wine. Cuvaison has a beautiful experience with incredible wines. You can walk the winery and see the mountains and toward the bay you can see San Francisco past the bay. Its in a beautiful area that is in one of the best winery areas in Napa and near Sonoma as well. Loved the staff and attended and event where we went to the lake. I am a huge fan of Cuvaison! I really enjoy their wines and their tasting room is gorgeous! It feels like you're miles away, it's modern and airy and you have vineyard views at every angle! I decided to become a member a few years ago after a solo visit. I really like their Sauvignon blanc and their sparkling wine! I love how personalized each visit is...they don't really take walk ins and I love that they add your name to the material at your table. Cuvaison is an elegantly beautiful winery. Family owned and one of the pioneer wineries in the Napa Valley. Their wines are from their Tai estate vineyard in the Los Carneros region - offering cool climate wines. Pinot & Chardonnay are their focus with limited production of sparkling. We had the estate sparkling tasting which was featured around Valentines. Their wine tasting included - Grenache rosé, brute rosé, brute cuvée and Blanc de blancs. We were also offered a Pinot to try. All the wines tasted were fabulous. Delicate, elegant and balanced. It's unusual to go to a tasting and like everything poured . The atmosphere is relaxed, light and airy, with glass walls opening up to the vineyard. Their decor is modern with a color palette that blends with the natural environment that surrounds it. Always a great experience, always funny, always sharp. But this visit? Next level. Paul hosted a group of 11 people on his DAY OFF for my sister's 30th birthday, and every single person in our group agreed: he is what made the day unforgettable. He somehow managed to be: -Genuinely hilarious (effortlessly, not the try-hard wine jokes) -Incredibly attentive to a big group -Deeply knowledgeable without being pretentious I've been passionate about wine for a long time, and it's rare that I walk away having learned something new, but Paul delivered. Anna welcomed us warmly when we arrived and it was a lovely start to our visit. Nicasio was our server and he was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions. We especially appreciated that toward the end of our tasting we ordered a bottle of sparkling rosé and he allowed us to linger well past closing time to finish it. Also, at our request, he took multiple pictures of us with several different backgrounds. Overall we had a very enjoyable time and we loved the wine. Cuvaison - Labs enjoying the view at Cuvaison! - Wineries Near Me - Napa, California

The best part about this spot, minus the gorgeous views, is the solid wine. Every single wine in our tasting was fantastic - even without any food or treats. I will say (though they made it up) - be weary of which tasting you want to book. I originally had booked the cheapest one (still $40 a person) which I realized was in the back patio that overlooks like fields and is picnic tables with barely any shade from the umbrellas. We came in at the last tasting time of the day and on a day that ended up being almost 100 degrees (when we booked it didn't appear it would be this hot) - when we asked if we could be on the front patio with direct shade, they wanted to charge us $20 extra each for that tasting experience. I understand completely if it was packed, or early in the day which would mess up reservations, but when it was unhealthy levels of hot, I think doing your guests a favor and at least putting them in the shade is the least you can do to make sure your guests enjoy the experience without heat stroke. Overall, once finally seated, I do think the wines we tried were absolutely fantastic- the chardonnay was our favorite but all really shined. However, compared to other $40 tastings we did in the area, this tasting only included 3 wines for the same price. I will say, when we ordered our Chardonnay bottle and a wasp fell into it and died, I really appreciated that they gave us a fresh new bottle without double charging us. Overall good spot - beautiful views and amazing wine, but make sure you look at the weather when booking the tasting space. read more

It was such an incredibly wonderful experience in a beautiful Carneros location. Although virtually on the border between Napa and Sonoma, it was confirmed to be in Napa. The countryside and views are awesome, especially in the green tones of spring. The buildings are contemporary and beautifully appointed. The atmosphere is relaxed and most enjoyable for a tasting. We were escorted to a table outside, and an umbrella provided sufficient shade. The wine tasting was well curated, and white to red gave a full taste of the breadth of their offerings. Some of the wines are stored in concrete "eggs" as opposed to wood barrels, a novel idea. I particularly enjoyed the whites, especially the variety of Chardonnay that are offered. I ended up getting two bottles of one type. It's crisp and refreshing, even ever so slightly oh the tart side, good for food. Service was exceptional, friendly, and educational. They carefully explain each wine and answer all questions professionally and with some candor. We, four of us, shared a cheese tray, which was a great compliment to the wines. I definitely recommend a stop here. Do make a reservation. read more

Heard about this place for a long time and didn't realize how close and central is to the other vineyards. The last tasting is at 4pm, something to keep in mind. They have started a late tasting with light bites and festive lights, which I really wanted to try but they were booked out so we settled for a glass of sparkling. Review for the Bright Nights event: From Thanksgiving through New Years, Cuvaison hosts a Bright Night's holiday event at their tasting room. It is from 4pm to 6pm and is $50 per person. You get a taste of 4 wines accompanied with a cheese and fruit plate. The event begins in the daylight and transitions to sunset where you will begin to see the vineyards sparkle with lights. Towards the end, a group of carolers sing holiday classics as you finish up your tasting. My only critique is that during other tastings, your host typically explains each wine as you go through the tasting, but during this event all the wines were poured at once and it was information overload trying to remember which each one was for the rest of the evening. Nonetheless, my husband and I greatly enjoyed this event and hope to make it a yearly tradition in wine country. read more

Celebrated a birthday here with a large group of 8 girls. We did the Winemaker's Tasting Experience with Gloria on the patio. We have all frequently traveled to Napa and wanted to try a new winery that was more modern and intimate. This was the perfect place to celebrate - we loved the ambiance and gorgeous scenery. Wines were also some of our favorites from the day. Gloria was an amazing host and made sure we were all taken care of. We went to Cuvaison for a professional tasting and it was overall an excellent experience. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and had an awesome personality overall. The tasting included I think six wines and they were all quite good. The sommelier also offered us wines to try and we ended up purchasing a bottle of Zinfandel for Christmas. I been to so many wineries throughout California and this place is the first one I signed up to be a member with. I love how small and intimate the place is. They just finished renovations and extended the front patio seating, so that's a wonderful addition (they plan on more renovations, see the photo). The staff here has been nothing but kind to my guest and I over the last few years. This place is for you if you love white wine (Chardonnay's and Sauvignon Blancs) my favorite are the En Cigare for chards and ATS and Couetina for Sauvignon blancs. Their Pinot's are also pretty good! This place also offer cheese boards or caviar which pairs well with their wine. Also it has one of the most beautiful views in Napa, and conveniently located right across Domaine Caneros. I also love that they personalize a card with the wine tasting menu with your name on it every time you visit, member or not. read more

Our host, Brian, was super welcoming and friendly and catered our tastings to what we liked. This was a really unique experience and we were grateful for this opportunity. PSA: because Covid restrictions are lifting, Napa Vally, the wineries and tasting rooms are all packed. I highly recommend making reservations 1-2 weeks in advance or you may not to get into the winery of your choice. Took a Covid break with friends for a trip to Napa Valley for some much needed wine time. My wife had made reservations for us here and it was as good thing, as we could not get any other reservations/seats at any other wineries or tasting rooms on this particular Saturday. First Impressions: Driving up the road to the top of the vineyard where the tasting room and barrel room is was scenic, but not a wow. The vines were young vines and the buildings commercial. Parking lot was dirt and the check in area was busy. After checking in and seated, it was a nice experience to be in the barrel room. Once seated you could remove your mask. The tables were well spaced and the staff wore their masks the whole time. Unlike some of the other popular wineries, they are a small batch producer that you don't find in the bib box wine stores or membership stores. Now for the wine: It was a 4 flight mid level tasting we reserved. 2 reds and 2 whites. It was a nice treat to have a warm up glass of sauvignon blanc to get things started. I am no a white wine type of guy, but their Chardonnay was better than the others we tried this weekend. For me the standout was a Pinot that had a very similar bouquet and taste of a Cabernet Sauvignon. I was able to compare their pinot side by side to their reserve Cab to confirm what my taste buds told me. But my favorite, as was my wife and friends, was their estate cab. Full body, nice bouquet with a great smooth finish. This may be my favorite Cab, but at $135/bottle my fav special occasion Cab. The Experience: The wine can only get you so far. While the wine was good, and better than most other wines we had this weekend, they were what was expected for the area. What made our visit here the BEST EVER, was our wine guide Rishann. She was THE BEST EVER, not the trip, EVER,. She not only knew her facts: like the concrete egg fermenting process vs the steel vs the Oak, she could tell us what wines were fermented in clean oak vs aged oak and if the wine was aged in a combination. She was personable, informative and held a conversation very well accommodating my boisterous personality. I am a self proclaimed wine snob and she went toe to toe with me--I loved it! She was good enough to where my friend and I both needed to commend her to manager, Kelly. Kelly was gracious and friendly as well and very accommodating of this guy. If you visit, see if you can get Rishann to take care of you. You will not be disappointed with her service and hospitality. And the wine is good too :). read more
