First time here and can't wait to go back! Yountville was such a cute town! My first time in Napa for work/pleasure. We had some time to shop around before heading back to Napa. I couldn't resist to come here for a quick drink aka Champagne. It was a fancy place with white tablecloths. I wish we had more time to sample some of their food. We had our server come over with some fresh bread and delicious silky-salted butter. I may have eaten more of the butter than the bread LOL. Plus it went perfect with my Champagne. This was my second visit to Bouchon and it was my partner's first time eating here. We had to celebrate our first triathlon as well as my birthday at this location. The server was attentive and our waters were constantly filled. We ordered the deviled eggs, chicken along with the steak and fries. The ambiance was nice and comfortable and we got a private table forh te two of us near the entrance. The food was scrumptious and perfectly cooked. We have no complaints there. We were about to get the check and leave until the server said we couldn't forget the dessert and so we enjoyed a well-made crème brûlée. We were able to make last minute reservations on Rest for Bouchon for lunch. They have about 10 parking stalls next to the restaurant or you can easily park across the street in the other parking lot. Service here is Top notch everyone was very professional and friendly. Its an amazing touch that our server spoke French. Great place for families, girls dining or date place. Interior seating is a little tight because it was busy but a great place to people watch. They had 3 types of oysters on special and we got the Kumamotos. They were delicious and fresh. We also had the steak frites and escargot, and cream brulee for dessert. I'm so sad about our experience at Bouchon. Being a Thomas Keller restaurant with pricing that clearly reflects this, our expectations were high. The wine by the glass list was pretty small, which is shocking for being Napa adjacent. The shrimp and baguette were the best bites of the night. The baguette was fresh and soft and the shrimp were clearly high quality. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal fell flat. The gnudi lacked flavor and the steak was just ok. I never mind dropping money on great dinner, but to walk out with a 500 dollar bill and such an underwhelming experience was sad. Not to mention, the restaurant was SO hot. My husband and I repeatedly mentioned how hot we were, needing to step outside more than once to cool down. It's been over a decade since I rated Bouchon but rest assured not a year passes that I don't find myself drawn to this Yountville classic. Talk about the test of time. The kitchen continues to deliver consistently great food and the flavors are always spot on. The salmon Rillettes is my goto with a glass of bubbles or an expertly made cocktail. The steak frites never disappoints (but they have cut down the amount of fries they serve at least that's what my pics over the years show). Bouchon has lived up to the hype ! We visited Bouchon on a Saturday night (make reservations weeks in advance!) I made note that it was our anniversary on the reservation and also that I had a nut allergy. We were quickly seated when we got to the restaurant and was also given a card and complimentary champagne which was nice. It is definitely very crowded inside and you are right next to the people around you - but overall didn't affect my experience too much, except when I had to use the restroom. We were quickly greeted by our server who noted that I had a nut allergy and already alerted the kitchen. This small gesture meant so much to me and I was taken aback that he read the notes (since I usually need to remind the server while ordering my food). We went straight to ordering the main appetizers since they gave us bread and I wanted to save room for dessert:) I ordered the steak & frites and my bf ordered the scallops dish (special menu item). They both came out quickly and were so tasty! The fries were crispy and the steak was so tender and the butter on top was seasoned perfectly. The scallops were also tasty, cooked well and the sauce was perfectly paired. Our waters were always filled and the employees ensured that we were taken care of throughout the night. For dessert we got 3 of the 4 items. The desserts came out quickly as well and were all delicious! I highly recommend the profiteroles that came with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce - a perfect way to end a meal! Call it birthday luck, but my friend and I were able to get a table on a packed night and had a wonderful meal. The Joly Select oysters were some of the best I've had, and the rosé of Pinot Noir by the glass paired perfectly. The rainbow trout was beautifully done, and the escargot was buttery and fresh. The only thing I'd order differently next time is the steak frites. It was fine, but everything else stood out more, and I'd go for the mussels instead. The room is lively with beautiful wood interiors and can get a bit loud, but it didn't take away from the experience. This is one of our favorite stops when we visit the Napa Valley. Everything here is delicious but our favorites and definite recommendations would be the almond croissant, Kouign-amann, oh-oh (their take on a Ho-Ho but WAY better), and a traditional baguette. The meal began with some warm, complimentary bread, accompanied by butter and mustard. We then ordered the Laitue ($18; bibb lettuce, garden herbs, house vinaigrette), ouefs mimosa ($8.50; four deviled eggs), soupe a l'oignon ($26; caramelized sweet onions with beef jus, country bread, and comte cheese), moules au safran ($45; Maine bouchot mussels steamed with white wine, Dijon mustard, and saffron, served with French fries), Gnocchi a la Parisienne ($29; sauteed gnocchi with winter vegetables), and a side of haricots verts ($12). The mussels were the star of the show - amazingly tender and flavorful (in fact, they're the best I've ever had). I also loved the Laitue salad - very simple, but the lettuce was very soft and the vinaigrette was delicious. My least favorite dish was probably the gnocchi; it was still well done, but the gnocchi was a little too mushy for my liking. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant was intimate and cozy but bustling. There is a free parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to find a spot. This place is good, but you definitely need a reservation. It's pretty packed and small inside, which is probably why walk-ins only get bar seating. There's patio seating, but in the winter it gets cold but they have heaters. They give complimentary bread to start off with. Mussels and onion soup were my favorite. The mussel broth was especially good. The size of the clams in the seafood section were kind of small but still sweet. The beef tartare was just okay. The crème brûlée with vanilla bean custard was great, not too sweet but still creamy and a good caramelized top. Bouchon Bakery is also next door so you can get some pastries or bread there. Came here after getting kicked out of the French Laundry for not having a reservation. Rookie mistake *bahahaha* but the lady at the front desk recommended their sister restaurant Bouchon. We were greeted by a cheerful well dressed hostess and seated promptly even without a reservation. It is a very lively atmosphere and the service was immaculate. They offer patio, bar, or inside seating. We wanted to stop in for a snack and the waiter kindly obliged. Went with the oysters west coast only bc thats what i prefer. Friend got the deviled eggs. I enjoyed the lively air conditioned atmosphere after being at a Farm Fest all day in the mountains of Mt Helena. I liked their hot complimentary bread with all the spreads to start and their private brand of bottled still water bc i can't stand sparkling. This is my third time here. This time with a baby. We made resos with highchair. We walked in, they said oh the seats we have for you don't fit the highchair can you sit outside? We've sat outdoors with our pup, it's cute but cramped as well. So we opted to just have the baby on our lap for indoor seating. But not baby friendly lol. After being seated we opted for the oysters, just be prepared it can be a pit pricey if your choice is to have more than 6. I was not even paying attention, and it showed at the end of the meal in the form of what was on the tab. :-) I guess I thought it was just going to dissapear. Lol- Moving on, we both opted for different items. Of course our first course was with some bubbly...bubbly bubbly bubbly :) I opted for the Poulet Rôti roasted chicken. Decided to dine here for lunch and ordered the lamb shank special, mussels, escargot & truffle fries for table sharing for 2. The lamb shank was very tender and flavorful! Mussels were cooking to perrrfection in a butter & white wine sauce. Escargot was served piping hot accompanied with a nice pastry puff in each bite. Bouchon Bistro is probably my favorite lunch spot in Napa Valley. I first dined here after arriving too late on a weekday to visit the bakery, and that solo dining experience was among the best meals I have ever had. It's owned by the same restaurant group as The French Laundry, with a more laid-back atmosphere and accessible menu. When the weather is nice I love sitting on the patio, which is semi-private behind a thick hedge, but the inside is just like a Parisian bistro-- and just as intimate. Service is always impeccable, but warm and friendly as well. I especially love the seemingly endless epi baguettes and butter they serve (and packed into our to-go bag). All of the food I have had has been delicious, but I especially love their mashed potatoes: the butter to potato ratio is really unbelievable. If I have anything to complain about, it's that my recent steak was a bit chewy, but the flavor was incredible. In short, I think the Bouchon Bistro is an unmissable lunch or dinner spot on any Napa trip. read more

We finally decided to dine at Bouchon Bistro to celebrate our friends' 29th wedding anniversary and made reservations in advance. It was truffle season, which I was excited about. The only disappointment was the truffle itself--it lacked aroma and flavor. Having had freshly shaved truffles in Italy, the difference was noticeable. The bread and pate to start was great, the mussels were perhaps the best I have ever had (and that is a tall order) with a spiced rich buttery broth, the lemon tart was also probably the best I have ever eaten. I last went to this restaurant about 25 years ago and forced my friends to go back since that experience was so good. I (and they) were not disappointed. There was a service error when our order got lost in a stack of orders in the kitchen (we were told) but they did what top notch restaurants should do - recover - and brought us two extra desserts. I joked with the manager I hoped they would make another error so we could enjoy more excellent food. It is a bit of a scene at the restaurant with tourists posing for selfies or IG posts outside, but that annoyance does not extend into the restaurant. It was noisy but not overly so. Bouchon may have lost its Michelin star, but it still delivered everything you could want from a Michelin restaurant -- impeccable food, cohesive atmosphere, and even a French chef who visits the table to explain what you're about to eat! The French-inspired decor is both rich and regal; deep reds and dark woods really sell the royal-chateau vibe. The menu is expensive but not break-the-bank pricey; it was perfect for a special day out of wine tasting. I had the roasted chicken, which could not have been better -- crispy skin, juicy meat, and plenty of gravy. I also had bites of the mussels and fries, which was the real star -- cloves of melt-in-your-mouth garlic spread over the table bread were an absolute treat. We visited Bouchon for lunch on Easter after ditching the very long line at the bakery. This ended up being an excellent idea because the host at Bouchon clued us into a bakery hack -- order online at the bakery while you dine at the restaurant. And voila our order was ready for us to just breeze on through the line for pick up after lunch. This will be our go to plan from now on when in Yountville. This was my first visit to Bouchon in Yountville -- I've been to Bouchon Las Vegas a few times, many moons ago. Bouchon Yountville did not disappoint. Our lunch started off with some of the bakery's complimentary epi baguette. It's crispy and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, just as it should be, served with house made butter. Maybe at other restaurants, the free bread isn't worth mentioning, but it is here and not to be missed. So don't miss out on this baguette, even if you are watching your carbs. These carbs are worth it. For our entrees, I went with the duck confit in a whole grain mustard sauce and brussel sprouts. It was divine. The skin was wonderfully crispy and the meat was tender and well seasoned. I've had plenty of duck where the skin is crisp but there's barely any meat on the bone and the whole experience is just sad. Not the case here - I couldn't have been happier with this dish, which was served atop a rich and tangy whole grain mustard sauce that unsurprisingly paired well with the fattiness of the duck. The brussel sprout side dish was not after thought, as veggies can be at other restaurants - they were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My husband went with the croque madame - which he also really enjoyed. Unfortunately, I could not give it a try because dairy - but as a Frenchman, the fact that he gave it a big thumbs up means something in my opinion. We also both enjoyed the Bouchon pommels frites, which were thin and crisp and expertly seasoned. We finished off our meal with some very good espresso. And before we left because it was Easter, they gifted us with a small package of hot cross buns! I devoured those later as a snack and can attest to their quality. This is one of the famous Thomas Keller restaurants. When we arrived early they seated us immediately but it is a small restaurant and seating is very tight. They pull out the table so you can slide in. Putting my Bouchon bakery bag on the seat next to me is almost touching the person sitting at the next table. I wish seating was a little bit more comfortable and spacious. The escargot with the puff pastry and light sauce on the bottom was delicious. We also had the French opinion soup but we have had better at other restaurants. The two main dishes, leg of lamb and the chicken with peas were both on point. We had the meringue with fresh strawberries. I think that it could have used a scoop of ice cream along with the meringue but that's me. Overall it was good but I would want more privacy vs less than an arms length to my neighbor and able to hear both conversations. read more

I've been to Napa 4 times now and Bouchon is always the first stop on our annual girls trip. We love the food and service here, especially the truffle fries. It is worth the upgrade! On this recent trip, I ordered the tarte au citron - move over profiteroles, this is my new fav dessert at Bouchon. The lemon custard is silky smooth and tart, and complemented well with the crust. I also enjoyed the steak frites, mussels, escargot and French onion soup. My friend has a dairy allergy and the servers and kitchen staff were very attentive about her allergy.
