Terrible experience with this store. Bought a keg of Bud Light for a weekend long party, paid deposit on the keg, tap, and tub. Unfortunately, I misplaced the receipt and when I returned, I was told the manager was at lunch and I needed to come back because they were the only one who could refund my deposits without a receipt. Couldn't stay so I loaded everything back into my car and returned a few hours later. Again, zero help the second trip in. They said I needed to call after 8am the next day to speak with a second manager for assistance. Not wanting to load the empty keg and tub back into my car I left it with the staff on duty. When I called in the next day, I was told the manager who could help didn't start until 2pm, so I told the person on the phone I would just stop In on my way home from work. Alas, when I went in for the THIRD time, I was told again, by the second manager no receipt no deposit refund. None of the three people there seemed to want to help, all were completely useless. My bad for losing my receipt, but we are in year 2024, and you are telling me that a manager on duty can't pull up a transaction from three days prior to accomplish this simple deposit return? So here I am out 100+ dollars because of incompetent, uncaring staff, simply because I don't have a receipt. Oh, and to top it off, the keg was NOT Bud Light. It said it was on the top and side,, but every beer drinker at the party said it was either Shock Top or Blue Moon which neither look nor taste anything like Bud Light. I'm 53 years old, regular customer with an account and I was denied the purchase of a bottle of wine because my drivers license I showed them (which was renewed online, waiting for the new one) was recently expired. I mean, really?! It's still my ID and I'm obliviously old enough to buy alcohol, which is the whole point of checking an ID! The store manager is the worst! Not helpful, rude and also vindictive! All started when I returned a corked bottle (full). She came over to cashier area and asked for a paper receipt, which I didn't have. So she immediately said she couldn't help and turned her back and walked away. I followed and said look up my rewards account. She said she couldn't access. I said you access it every time I buy something when you ask my number. I explained I have an online receipt that gets emailed with every purchase. After I produced it on my phone, she then helped with an exchange. Obviously her lack of knowledge of how her company worked embarrassed her in front of her employees. (She's since changed store policy requiring paper and instructed her cashiers to tell customers such- contradicting corporate policy see below) Next time I went into the store a few weeks later, the same manager sought me out to ask me all about how my account tracks purchases and emails me receipts. When I explained, she said well no one knows how that happens. I shrugged, paid and left. The next time I shopped, the cashier gave me my paper receipt and said in case I need to return a corked bottle I will need the paper receipt, which appears to be a policy in Napa now. I will note that the bevmo return policy says in the second paragraph, "Don't have a receipt? Not a problem!" There seems to be a disconnect with the Napa store not abiding by their own corporate policy! Further, since the original incident with this manager, my online account was changed, including my history of purchases got deleted and my email preferences no longer existed! Hmmm... coincidence?! Of course BevMo corporate offices haven't responded to let me know who changed my rewards account and how it got changed. So small of her to be so vindictive and unhelpful. We went in to shop for a large party , spent over an hour gathering items to come to the front of the store with my husband & his ID & credit card. Since I was not driving that day I had no ID on me. They refused to process the order unless both is us had a scannable ID. May I mention that I am 59 years old & the manager helped us for that time & never mentioned their new rules? I went into Bev Mo with my friend to purchase a bottle of liqueur. We are both 70 years old. At the check stand I presented my credit card and ID. The clerk then asked for my companion's ID. She did not bring her ID to the store as I was the one purchasing the alcohol. Without both our ID's we were refused the sale. Where is the common sense in that policy. To start i am disabled. Well today Anthony refused me service after my daughter who is my caregiver and 18 was with me in the store. They watched us the entire time in the store and never said anything to me. He argued with me i even had my service dog with me. Then the manager told him to ring me up. To ring me up and instead of a second bottle for $.05 they charged me full price and gave me the grenadine for $.05. So i walked out. I will never return to bevmo again. read more

In a nutshell: This BevMo has a great selection of spirits and local Napa wines, but prices are higher on items that can be found at a lower price at Safeway, Walmart, Costco, and K&L. Come here for the convenience of one-stop shopping, and the items you can't find at the big box stores or the grocery store. Details: -- I spot checked the prices on a few items and found the them to be shockingly high for a store whose image is based on lower prices. See my pics. -- The still wine section is really heavy on California, and local Napa and Sonoma wines are better represented than at other BevMo stores. There is a good selection of local $100+ wines (at inflated prices), but you won't find anything allocated here. -- The sparkling wine section has all the usual suspects, but none of the smaller grower-producer Champagnes. The tete du cuvees are pretty much limited to Dom Perignon and Cristal, and the prices for those two wines were super high. (DomP. was much less at the Safeway right next door, at Costco, and at K&L.) -- Disappointingly, the international wine section is limited to just a few shelves, and the selection is strictly limited to village level and the low end. Sadly, this BevMo seems to miss the same thing all of the other wine retailers miss: there is a great retail need in the Napa Valley for mid to high end Old World wines! -- Also missing was a good selection of half-bottles. They had a handful, but nothing interesting. -- The spirits section was diverse and particularly strong in the whiskies. They also had a lot of larger format bottles. But, overall, the prices were just okay. You might want to check out Lawler's on Jefferson for better prices. -- The sake section was cursory. If you need a real sake selection go to Morimoto. -- They had a nice selection of beers, both local and International. But for a few exceptions, most of the beers can be found at a lower price up and down Trancas and / or Jefferson. -- They've got a cigar case filled with well known marquee brands, but the prices are much higher than you can find in downtown Napa. The store is really nice, well lit, and very clean. The location and parking are super convenient. The staff are all pretty knowledgeable, helpful, warm, and friendly. read more

Can I give this place zero? You need to train your managers better. When I came in and asked for his name for a complaint , he refused to give it to me. He sarcasticly asked me: well what's your name? Then he refused to give me your corporate number, and told me I can go online to look for it myself. Is this the quality of service your corporation tolerates ? I hope not. I came up to the counter to pay for my items after browsing for about 15 minutes. While standing in line behind another customer , the cashier vehemently demanded I show him my ID. I nicely replied I can show you my ID once I am at your register to pay. He still demanded it, saying I am trying to get my friend to buy liquor for me. Does this logical make sense to anyone? If I wanted to do that , why wouldn't I just stay in the car? I'm literally at the counter , in line, with my wallet out trying to pay. I'm usually a pretty laid back person, but this behavior is unacceptable. This Hispanic sounding man was super rude and snappy and told me I'm asking "too many questions and to look online." I don't think I've ever met a BevMo that I didn't love. And I love this one the most. Big, great selection. They even carry Pimm's! And we all know Pimm's cup is my favorite drink. They could do better with a better selection of spirits. I mean really, do you need a whole rack dedicated to Bacardi? Yuck! Huge selection of wine, as I would expect it to. Decent selection for beer. Larger than I would have expected for ciders. This is your one stop shop for all your boozing needs. They also have a small selection of cheese crackers, and coffee?! First I want to say that I think the store looks beautiful inside and that they have a great selection of whiskey and beer. I rated the store 2 stars because I was disappointed in the wine selection. I personally think there are too many Napa wines and not enough from other great appellations in California. I was expecting to see more wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, Paso Robles, and Santa Barbara County. Instead the store is flooded with Napa wines that I can buy at any number of grocery stores down the street. I'm all for supporting local wineries but I think that Napa deserves at least one wine shop that explores more of the great wine growing areas in California. read more

What a mess at BevMo in Napa. If you are planning a big event or supplying for a catering job, DO NOT USE the Napa BevMo. They are incapable of properly handling large orders. I have tried several times to work with them and large orders are definitely outside of their wheel house. This week I had an order for a large party. I tried to call the store directly for the order and asked to speak to the manager with whom I have worked on several occasions. Staff insisted that the order had to be done online and that within an hour they would have the goods assembled and transacted so I could easily pick it up. They assured me that the online method would steer me from ordering items that were not in stock... not to worry, they said. I placed the order online using my client's credit card for the transaction (which they explained would be "no problem"). The order appeared to go through, my client indicted a charge from BevMo appearing on his end and all seemed in order. I called the store about an hour and a half later to make sure the order was ready for pickup and was told "it is here and waiting for you." Showed up at the store about 20 minutes later... no order was ready. "What is your name again? Gee, let me see if anyone knows about this." 10 minutes... people going back and forth. I see a pile of stuff that looks like part of my order and point it out to staff... "oh yeah, we didn't have everything you ordered, someone is going to the shelves right now to finish it." 20 minutes later we have mostly everything compiled and they are short a few items. I think we are paid up, minus a credit they need to give my client for 1 bottle of wine. They have reluctantly allowed an even exchange on 2 12-packs of beer for the 24 pack they didn't have. They print out the receipt and help load my car. This morning I find they have charged ME, not my client for this order, even after 5-6 times reminding them of this and entering his information on line. Now I get to take an hour to sort this out. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO BURN. Grr!!! read more

I have been to many Bevmo's and this one is one of the greatest! How wonderful to have a great selection of Napa and Sonoma wines all at one stop. It saves me much time and money by not having to go to the wineries themselves. Clean, neat with incredibly helpful staff. Great selection of hard to find beer as well! BevMo is the chain store replacement for the former, locally owned&operated JV Wine&Spirits in downtown. While BevMo looks good, it evokes the Napa Valley, it's pricey, even with chips&dip. They have a wine tasting bar. The look of the place is good... but if you want affordable wine, Walmart, neighboring Safeway, even Target&Trader Joe's are better.
