Over a year expired and still on the shelf

I should have listened when other people were posting the same thing, this commissary is known for selling you expired food. I'm disgusted.

Typically, groceries are 20% less at the Commissary versus purchasing groceries at civilian supermarkets. So, I shop here because the grocery and meat selections are vast due to military personnels' different cuisines prepared. I purchase my earthquake survival MRE's here, too.

Not only am I an elite yelper, I also happen to be a military spouse!! I come here for most of our grocery needs, and much much more! Prices outside of the military base could be so expensive, although the prices continue to go up, it is still much cheaper to shop on base. Of course we all know that you need proper military ID to do so. The staff here are so so helpful! Miliza, Linda, and Jackie are superstars, and always willing to make it right for the customer!!! The baggers are awesome too, so give them a generous tip after they bag your groceries, take them to your car, and load them for you!! We love Travis Commissary!!!

This is another one of the few perks that the boys and girls in red, white and blue still get, and it's really worth it. Yes, it's worth the drive from VTown to Travis to get groceries. I can save $50 + + per trip, and yes, that is worth it. Whatever they don't carry it, they can special order it for you, by the case. They have a large selection of Hispanic (Mexican and Puerto Rican), Asian (Japanese, Philippino and Korean) and German Food Items, usually 20% less than at the civilian stores. The meat is very fresh and of high quality. There is a very extensive produce department, Deli, Bakery and organic foods as well. There is a 7% surcharge on your receipt, but it's worth it. That 7% is used to pay for the overhead. Unlike civilian stores who build those costs into everything you buy, and jack them up, the commissary has it right there up front! FYI - you are expected to tip your bagger. It's the only money they make, so don't be a tightwad. I usually give them $3 for a full cart of food. Think of where all those teenagers would be if they weren't at the commissary earning money? SCARY THOUGHT

I have a love hate relationship with the commissary. I love the prices on staple items (meat, dairy, baking essentials, spices, etc.). I like that they'll special order items, like my Peanut Butter & Co. and Goya products. I'm slightly irritated by the small (but growing) selection of natural/organic items. Today I saw coconut sugar for $3.49 and jumped for joy. I detest the produce section. Let me explain. The selection of organic produce is small; no biggie, I can go elsewhere for edible skinned items. What irritates me is the sheer volume of rotten fruits and vegetables. What gives? Every time I'm there I see produce staff inspecting and checking. Throw out the hundred eyed potatoes, the soft, slimy onions or the moldy oranges (peep my pic). This is the second time I've bought bagged fruit with a dead guy in the middle. On the bright side, both last time and this time, they've given me a full refund. The customer service is decent.

This is an awesome grocery store to go to. It has everything you need, and at very reasonable prices. Also, the deli sandwich shop makes foot long sandwiches that are awesome. Personally I think the Italian foot long sand which is to die for. Also has a great selection of stuff to make meals with, and asian food.

Wonderful cake by Travis Commissary Bakery. I always have them decorate the cake and I add my kids toys.

The checkout lines on the weekends are too long. Hire more people. The prices aren't that good.

I would say that on average the Travis Commissary is $1 cheaper per item than the Lucky per item and between $1-$2 cheaper than Raley's per item.

Hello peeps let's see who is in the chopping block today!!!…read more Alright Nugget Markets come on down!!! Let's start off with the outside of the store since there is a lot more store around this place they share the parking but still lots of parking and handicap parking as well. Besides the fact that there is alot of other stores around this place they have it very cleaned up no trash on the floor and no carts just wondering the parking lot. When you walk in your eyes can't seem to stay focus on one thing. You want to look at everything they have and all the wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables they have too. We decided to go to the deli and order sandwiches for our lunch since we were going wine tasting and needed to bring our own food. This is what we ordered Wife ordered - cosmopolitan sandwich Friend ordered- Calistoga sandwich I ordered- carnitas torta We decided to grab chips a French baguette some sodas and chocolates. Total for everything was $60 something each sandwich was from $13-$15 each totality worth it. I wanted to look at their desserts and to my surprise I saw one that really made my stomach upset there was a dessert with hair on it and you could tell it had hair on it because the other onces behind it had no design or chocolate drizzle on nothing after looking at that I said umm yeah no definitely won't be buying my desserts from here unless the are prepackaged from another place. Overall the experience was amazing really loved every bit of this place.the person who took our sandwich order was amazing and very friendly definitely went above and beyond thank you Now for the moment of truth is this place Dendinger approved???? Yes it is we will definitely be back for more of these sandwiches

I have to say, when I saw their deli meats and what the meat and fish department had on display I was pretty impressed. The servers are very friendly and helpful too. After walking around for a bit surveying the store, I went to the deli department and their rosemary grilled tri-tip caught my eye. I ended up getting a lb. of that which went for $22 a lb! Yikes! One thing about Nugget is it's not necessarily cheap, but from the look of the quality I think it could be worth it. I also got some French rolls and provolone cheese from the grocery aisles so I can have sandwiches for lunch this week. Again, it's a little on the pricey side; but top notch quality is what it's all about. I'm sure I will return and try other things at the Nugget.

I had called all over town and nobody else was selling them except a well-known sandwich place selling them for $20, and we didn't have that kind of budget. The lady named Diamond wasn't fazed at all when I ordered 16. She made the order with a smile and friendly conversation and they were outstanding sandwiches. I left for awhile to shop while she made them, and when I returned, some more co-workers were behind the counter nearby her station and they were bragging about how well she had handled the order. It looked like a nice team interaction. Please give kudos to the lady named Diamond, and also to the decision makers for choosing to sell Corned Beef Sandwiches on St. Patrick's Day, unlike the rest of Fairfield businesses!

Aside from the self-checkout lanes, they usually only have one or two cashiers working -- even during the busiest times of day. And it does get super busy once school and work let out, especially since this is basically the only grocery store in the Cordelia/Green Valley area (unless you count Costco). They keep building more and more housing around here, but the staffing never seems to increase. My advice: shop during off-hours. Early morning or late at night is your best bet. Or just do what I do and order through the app. The Drive Up & Go service has always been convenient for me. The only downside is the people who park in the designated pickup spots even when they're not picking up an order. There are tons of regular parking spots, so why they do this is beyond me. My other gripe: they are always out of Cherry Dr Pepper and Blackberry Dr Pepper. They only ever seem to stock a few cases at a time, and of course they sell out immediately. Clearly they're popular -- just order more! Overall, it's an okay store with good staff but some frustrating operational issues.
