Only thing keeping this froma 5, is you have to have Base access to use , but for grocery, it has fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, a great deli, as well as every other grocery need. Workers are always freindly, helpful You must bring your own bags or buy from them, they do employ baggers that work off tips, that bag, and bring your grocerys out and load them for you. I was at the commissary a few days ago they were completely out of ground turkey And all Chicken. Also before the holidays I placed an online order I was told most of the items I ordered were out even some substitute items. Later on in the day I had forgotten about something else I needed so I had to go into the store for the item I went in to get that item only to see all the items I had placed in my order were there. They lied about not having the items. This has happened a few times to us. So disappointing We place orders because sometimes we just don't have the time to actually go into the store to shop. The is supposed to make things easier for military service members and their families But the last few times the online ordering has been frustrating because they tell us they don't have the items we need causing us to have to travel to another store even though we don't have the time to go to get our groceries. read more

Visits here with my friend once in a while. When there's a good deal I'm there! Here in commissary their meats are always fresh, good selections and the price is reasonable. They got a lot of coupons, and good deals on groceries (which i like), watch out for these deals! And also the people in this community are friendly and willing to help if they can. Wide parking area. But, they have'nt got EV charging. (Hopefully they might, one day). Recently, i notice on my receipt that they have surcharge (on credit card) $3.25. This is a great size commissary. I usually find good prices on meat, but not all the time you have to to search for anything. And most of the time the line moves fast. The only part I do not like about the commissary is the older baggers seem very rude. One guy loaded one bag of items and put them in my basket and then I gave him one dollar. You only loaded 1bag so I gave you one dollar and then he took the $1 as if it was contaminated with asbestos and had a snooty look. then I walk the basket back to my vehicle. As far as commissaries go this one is pretty good. As of July 2025 they are open 7 days a week from 0900-1900. They have all the staples any grocery store has, they have a sushi section and they also have a deli that makes sandwiches to order. The employee that made our sandwiches was very helpful and patient while we decided what we wanted. We are currently traveling the southwest looping through 6 states and staying on base anywhere we can, I can tell you not all commissaries are the same, this one is one of the better ones. read more

I come here often for my grocery shopping. I could say it's because it's convenient due to where I live, but I also go because of the pricing. The pricing is great, and there is a great variety of food. They have improved the produce lately, which I appreciate. You have to bring your own bags for the groceries, so don't forget those. If you forget them, they have bags you can purchase near the checkout lines. I like that the store isn't super loud. The staff are friendly, and told me to have a good day on my way out. Retired US Army...Worst experience ever!!!! I came early morning with my adult disabled son. I should have run when I walked into the bathroom and watched an employee in the bathroom struggling to use the ADA stall. Her wheelchair would not fit, she could not open the stall door unassisted due to a lack of handles and there were no handles on the NON ADA COMPLIANT - NON ELECTRIC bathroom entrance? The number of expired products on the shelves and in refrigerators was astounding? Once we sorted past the expired products & crowded thin isles of disabled vets, we made our way to the disabled check out counter. There we were greeted with an impatient checker who verbally chidded & hurried us along to get our groceries out of our baskets and onto the counter. I was not aware staff worked on commission? To make matters worse, we did not know about the new "bring your own bag" rules. We simply placed our grocieries back in the cart rather than pay the extortion fees they wanted for recycled bags. My poor kid left flustered & apologetic for not moving fast enough. The only positive experience about the visit was the multiple vets shopping who stopped to chat and give us coupons. I am absolutely floored that in this particular state such discrimination exists unchecked in a Federal building. The staff who exist solely to serve soldiers seems to have forgotten their 1 mission, serve those who have already served and sacrificed. Unbelievable. So shameful all around. Amazing prices, fresh produce & friendly workers. Be careful with their ground turkey. Twice I bought some, and it was spoiled. Had a rotten smell when I cooked it. Left a message to warn them for other customers, no one ever called back. I just never buy it there any more. Other than that, all is good! The Commissary Deli was awesome. Had great sandwiches and were filling. New guy working the deli now. Got a chicken pannini and discovered 2 paper thin slices of chicken...I could see through it and "some" cheese. Oh well, was too good to last. read more

Seems like a typical Commissary. I'm retired and pop in here for stuff on occasion. As of this writing, signage still states that no Visitors are allowed to accompany you so everyone has to have their own military/veteran/dependent/whatever ID, and there are people at the entrance to check, as well as to encourage sanitization. There's hand sanitizer and wipes made available. Food selection is what you'd expect from a Commissary, with some nice locally-sourced stuff here and there. Self-checkout is available. Bathrooms: Two sets of restrooms near both major entrances, which is nice. read more

Not only am I an elite yelper, I also happen to be a military spouse!! I come here for most of our grocery needs, and much much more! Prices outside of the military base could be so expensive, although the prices continue to go up, it is still much cheaper to shop on base. Of course we all know that you need proper military ID to do so. The staff here are so so helpful! Miliza, Linda, and Jackie are superstars, and always willing to make it right for the customer!!! The baggers are awesome too, so give them a generous tip after they bag your groceries, take them to your car, and load them for you!! We love Travis Commissary!!! read more

This is another one of the few perks that the boys and girls in red, white and blue still get, and it's really worth it. Yes, it's worth the drive from VTown to Travis to get groceries. I can save $50 + + per trip, and yes, that is worth it. Whatever they don't carry it, they can special order it for you, by the case. They have a large selection of Hispanic (Mexican and Puerto Rican), Asian (Japanese, Philippino and Korean) and German Food Items, usually 20% less than at the civilian stores. The meat is very fresh and of high quality. There is a very extensive produce department, Deli, Bakery and organic foods as well. There is a 7% surcharge on your receipt, but it's worth it. That 7% is used to pay for the overhead. Unlike civilian stores who build those costs into everything you buy, and jack them up, the commissary has it right there up front! FYI - you are expected to tip your bagger. It's the only money they make, so don't be a tightwad. I usually give them $3 for a full cart of food. I have a love hate relationship with the commissary. I love the prices on staple items (meat, dairy, baking essentials, spices, etc.). I like that they'll special order items, like my Peanut Butter & Co. and Goya products. I'm slightly irritated by the small (but growing) selection of natural/organic items. Today I saw coconut sugar for $3.49 and jumped for joy. I detest the produce section. Let me explain. The selection of organic produce is small; no biggie, I can go elsewhere for edible skinned items. What irritates me is the sheer volume of rotten fruits and vegetables. What gives? Every time I'm there I see produce staff inspecting and checking. Throw out the hundred eyed potatoes, the soft, slimy onions or the moldy oranges (peep my pic). This is the second time I've bought bagged fruit with a dead guy in the middle. On the bright side, both last time and this time, they've given me a full refund. I remember as a child my mother would spend $200 on about 3-4 carts of groceries! We are not talking about shopping carts but those 2 level bagger type carts they have that the commissary uses to glide those bags of groceries to your car. Some of the prices now are a slight bit higher unless you hit the sales and have coupons in hand. My parents come here for their "signature" prime rib roast beef meat to use for my Father's signature prime rib. Its cheaper by pound than Costco. Also Cigarettes here are cheaper due to no tax. Some of the items bought here are better off being bought at the Local grocery store or outlets. If you live out of the base its a good idea to check your Daily ad News for sale prices on certain items. The Meats and Cigarettes are cheaper to be bought from here. No Tax however they insert some type of fee/surcharge just observe your receipt. The downfall is the line to checkout. Texting while in line speeds up your checkout process! read more

This review is for the bakery. Whenever a birthday comes along I always special order my cakes through the bakery. I always get whip cream frosting (I don't like butter Creme), raspberry filling (from what I hear custard is delicious also) and have them decorate the topping but I add the toys. I use the toys my kids have and it turns out to be a better looking cake. I try to place the order a week before if you can avoid the next day. I think I did this once. They made it happen and the quality was great as always but I try to be considerate and order it at least a week before. read more

I was holding a package in my hands carefully debating whether to put it in the cart until a cute guy in his service dress blues said behind me, "Oh...these are really good!" Okay I'm sold! Yay for everything being a buck or two cheaper than what you can find at Safeway. And again no tax. Since the hubby and take a class on base from Solano Community college, I sometimes go to the commissary to pick up groceries. Although, I don't by meat or eggs there as I only buy cage free and all natural varieties, I do find a lot of the frozen items and other household necessities to be a lot cheaper here. I think over the last year or so they've even started to get more organic fruits and vegetable options as well as organic milk, yogurt (they now carry Fage and Rachel's) and have an all natural isle for skin care, hair care, feminine hygiene as well as deodorants. It's definitely worth shopping for, especially if you don't want to over pay and are looking for items that can either only be found in specialty markets or in other countries. I only wish they carried all natural meats, eggs and a greater variety of organic produce. Guess we'll just have to request it. I always love shopping at the commissary. Sometimes even cheaper than buying bulk from CostCo! They have a lot of different food. Of course you'll be dealing with a lot of retired people (but they seem to be missing on Sundays) and it's not too bad dealing with the workers. One of the downsides is that their meat section isn't as good as McClellan's commissary is! They don't have as many family sized packs. The meat is literally the best price I've found which is why I'm trying to stock up before benefits run out ... :) EDIT: I would honestly look over Buck N's review since his account is only *full* of one-star reviews. From the plenty of times that I've been here, I've never had an issue finding parking, and most the time I'm able to find parking in the same row as the door just a ways down. I'm willing to walk a bit, it's healthy regardless. read more

Like others have said the produce is hit or miss, but the meat department is great. Cant find prices on quality meat cheaper anywhere else. They have a pretty good variety of products and I rarely see things out of stock. They say that if they dont have a product they will order it for you. I tried this before and never heard or saw what i asked for. Always get attitude at least once when I'm here, either from fellow customers or employees. I just hate going here and dealing with aisles chock full of retired people who insist on taking 5 minutes to decide which juice brand they bought last time and refuse to acknowledge other shoppers or move their cart. For people who dont really have a lot of time and need to shop in a hurry (such as myself), sometimes (not always) it's worth paying a little more to get your shopping done a lot quicker. I'm not saying all of the retirees, but the majority. I think there's probably about 5 baggers out of 100 that dont have a horrible attitude. Dont even think about going here on the 1st of the month. Best way to miss the crowds is to go on a weekday, around the 25th of the month, just after lunchtime. read more

The only down side is when you go shopping on the weekends, OMG, that line can be the lenght of the store, which is pretty long. While products and selection are good I have recently found it difficult to shop here. I recently experienced a temporary disability. This required me to shop via electric cart. The carts are poorly maintained & no one seems responsible to see that they are charged.. On more than one occasion the cart just stopped, unfortunately near the back of the store. No staff offered to help. I now shop at Raleys where carts are maintained and charged. Staff are helpful to disabled customers. Handicapped parking is also inadequate. There is too many "privileged spaces" often empty and few handicapped spaces. read more

Like every other area on Travis AFB where they discriminate in the hiring process, 9 out of 10 people who work at the commissary are Filipino. Expect to receive no customer service here or hint of a good attitude. Workers wear whatever clothes they like & the baggers beg for tips. As someone who worked as a courtesy clerk in high school, I find it ridiculous that this place has baggers that expect to be tipped. Some days it seems like there are a hundred of them milling around the front, putting every individual item you buy in to its own plastic bag-as if that will make it look like they worked harder & you will tip more. piss off. I know they do not get hourly wage, the attitude shows it & that is the problem with this system. Store is organized with no regard to flow of traffic, i.e. you have to go through a maze to reach a register instead of straight at it. It is always encumbered with retired sleaze. Meat department may have decent prices but the bakery is straight up highway robbery. This dump opens at 9AM, so if you wanted a fresh donut in the morning or coffee, or perhaps to grab lunch items on the way to work, DAH! Go pound sand. To top it off, it has only one entrance on the side, so expect to find no parking anywhere near that. read more

We come here for groceries, cakes, and sandwiches for lunch. They have a great selection of food and if there is something that you want and they don't have it, you can put in a request that they get it in and will let you know once they get it in. I love that Travis is one of the test locations for Click2Go because it's great. You go online, order your groceries, and pick a window when you want to pick up your stuff (30 minute windows). The Click2Go pick up is where the old mini comm is (to the left of the commissary). You pull up and let them know that you're there for pick up with your last name, and they bring out your order, load it into your car for you, you pay and done! So convenient lately since I have a 2 month old and there have been many times when I didn't want to go into a grocery store to pick up items with him. We've never had an issue with customer service here. Yes, some of the people here have the look like they're tired or can't wait to be off work, but who hasn't? While they may have the look on their face as I approach the check out line, they have all still been friendly and professional. read more

I love the Commissary! The prices are very reasonable and there's no sales tax! Customer service is good and you do not have to load your own groceries into your car. They have baggers that will load them for you. These baggers work for tips only, so please tip accordingly. The fresh fish market is back and I am overjoyed. This small market comes here to sell fresh fish, salmon, crab and lobster tails every military pay day weekend. The lobster tails are hugh and are a great price. 8-9 dollars a piece. The only possible negative about shopping at the commissary is that they run out of the good stuff fast so get there early, it's less crowded. read more

This Commissary is a joke. I've been coming here over 15 years and its gone downhill ever since. The Management is very poor and they have a serious problem keeping common everyday items in stock such as shaving cream! This is an ONGOING problem and I'm unsure if the problem is the person ordering the items on time or the people who stock the shelves. Additionally watch the expiration of items VERY carefully. You will often find hot dogs, bacon, sausage and even canned items way past their expiration dates. The Customer Service here is a complete joke. Good luck trying to get help from someone! Make sure you have lots of patients when shopping here. People routinely block the entire aisle and act like they don't even see you! read more

This place boasts the best prices around. This is the number one reason I come here to shop for food. They really match, if not beat out most other places in terms of inventory. I never found myself not able to find something I needed. Though it is always busy, it's still a nice place to come shopping. You have to tip the baggers, but I see no problems with it. They're mostly just high school kids who use it as a part time job so I'm happy to help them. Every-time I come to grocery shop I get everything I need. The store I laid out in such a way that most everything is easy enough to find. When Fall rolls around though, I wish they would put their seasonal/pumpkin spice goods in one area so that's it's a bit easier to find. Other commissary's do this. It would be convenient for customers. This commissary is also much better about their baggers not BUGGING you about wanting to bag your own things. They just close the sandwich cart whenever they, don't stick to any form of closing/opening hours, it would be understandable if it happened every now and then. Everytime I go I snag whatever they have. If it's 4 curries then that's it. I went out to the commissary. I lost my wallet. I contacted the store and they said they had it. I asked Jackie if they would mail it to me stince I live in "Stockton. She refused to do so. saying someone would have to make a trip to the post office and mail it. I told her if they included the name of the person who sent it in the package that I would reimburse that person. She still refused. I told her I only get to the commissary once a year and I have no way to get there now. My drivers license and ID card are in it with my address. In this time when we are supposed to be kind and helpful to others she refused to do so. read more
