This rating is specifically for the bakery department/deli. I came yesterday to get a nice fruit pie for a family gathering. I was happy to see that there was variety to choose from starting with a chocolate mousse, strawberry and banana crème pies. They had 3 fruit pies with blueberries, strawberries and a glaze. Aside from those large pies they also individually-packed cheesecakes and other cakes. The service was outstanding from a customer service/bakery attendant by the name of Pam. Shout out to Pam who was kind and helpful. I talked with her about which pie to get. I initially was going to get the fruit pie but I saw that the expiration date was in 1-2 days. Pam explained that bc it's fresh fruit, it goes badly quicker. I needed something could last for longer as I was sure there would be other desserts there. So I ended up getting the Banana crème pie which was delicious. It was about $13 and I also got a vegetable tray with fresh veggies that had large snap peas, celery, broccoli, carrots and with purple cauliflower which I've never seen before! read more

I had an opportunity to visit Raleys recently, and I have to take time to share my experience. While picking up a few things, I was looking for my favorite probiotic soda. I asked Anthony if he could tell me where I could find them. I mentioned that I was looking for the Poppi Rootbeer ( BTW they are a must try) Anthony took the time to not only locate them, but brought me back a few cans, seeing that I was already at check out. He also took the time to assist me in signing up for the rewards, and thoroughly explained the benefits of signing up. During that moment of time Anthony made me feel as if I was the only one in the store. His attention, kindness, and professionalism was something that is oftentimes far and few between in this busy world. I pass this location on a daily basis along my commute. Today, was my first time shopping here and I'm more than pleased that I did. I wanted to get a sandwich for lunch. I went to the Deli section and was greeted by this super friendly man. I don't remember his name but his smile was everything! We chatted a bit as he was making my Dagwood sandwich to perfection. This excellent experience carried on to my cashier, a female who was just as friendly! Restrooms are unmarked and hidden. Asked CS at the front of the store the location, it's all the way in back, through double doors, with no restroom sign. I get all the way to back of the building past the warehouse stockroom area and there's finally a restroom sign where no one could ever see. Get to the doors, it requires a code. I track down someone in back for the code. They have to call someone to come back and open the doors. Wanna guess who that person is? Yes the CS person I asked back at the start. Raley's are usually run a bit better than this. read more

For the most part this location has very nice customer service. Ample parking, carts are clean and the aisles are organized and stocked. Some items are a bit over priced compared to other stores. But you can always find coupons to clip when using the Raley's app. I find their bakery selection not as big and limited options. read more

Upon traveling this holiday weekend, stopped to charge Ludykris (Tesla X) and went into Raleys. Typically, I do not review grocery stores or supermarkets, BUT this supermarket is a diamond!!! Came in to use the restroom and super clean, super secured; and the staff that badged me in was super fast and nice! Look I dont expect champagne to fall from the sky when I walk in but holy crap I dont expect to be barked at either. This was third time in recent months I have gone to the deli/bakery and had the worst experience. This morning I was telling my husband how I really didnt want to go pick up a cake for an employee because of the attitude I usually get so he offered to go along with me. When we left he said that was the weirdest grocery store experience he ever had. We walked in and was looking at cakes to choose from. A few minutes later I heard a 'can I help you' so I said 'sure wanted to get a cake'. The girl barked out 'WHICH ONE????' while glaring at me. Well that wiped the big smile off my face. Sorry for the inconvenience lady. Last month I went in to order some smoked turkey and waited about 10 minutes for the young man to finally get around to asking what I need even tho nobody else was there. When I said 'a pound of smoked turkey please' he just kept repeating 'peppered'. Wouldnt look at me or just say something normal like 'we dont have smoked turkey only peppered' he just oddly kept saying peppered. I never got a full answer so just walked away. I understand we all have bad days but I really dont need an attitude asking for a food item. Just box the cakes and leave them for us to grab and go if its that serious. I shop at this particular store in Fairfield when I am in town working at Tolenas Winery in the fall to assist during the crash season. The store serves its purpose. Not the most organized and kept up store that I've been into. The area is a little rough. But, it has everything I need and it's close by to the winery. One of the biggest issues and is why I only gave the store a three star rating is that the employees Need a little bit of lessons on customer service. You could tell they do not have any pride in the store and their employment there and you can often hear them complaining about something. Unfortunately, like many supermarkets these days, they're woefully understaffed. I go there for the convenience of location and the diversification of product. I bought some few items here at this location (Fairfield CA store #332) before I head back to the Bay Area... Everything was ok until I checked out. The dude cashier with an Operator # 63514 at 7:06pm July 20, 2022, he had some so-so attitude, (To think he is an operations supervisor blah blah) worse was when another dude by the name of Joe tried to bag my goods.. Since I am travelling 65 miles I want my groceries protected, I asked him to not put all my groceries in one plastic bag, he put bananas, the pork chop, the pizza in one plastic which unfortunately almost crashed my pizza.. When I told him NICELY to use another bag, seems like he is the type who doesnt want to be dictated, he dropped my plastic and just left and went to the cashier and had some talks there, to my dismay.. I ended up bagging my own groceries which I had no problem doing because it makes it easier for me to see my items bagged perfectly and correctly.. I mean why throw some attitude if one asks you to do something I am the customer and I am paying for the bags and this is what I wanted but you just walked off. is that an attitude of a raley's bagger? Poor customer service, I was dismayed of how Raleys hire people who can't accept training or correction, better not work if you're misbehaving like that... This Raley's was a sight for sore eyes as I pulled up to the Courtyard Marriott for work. I walked over in need of some staple items for the week and was happy to be there. The employees were super helpful when I was looking for specific products. They have a great selection of snacks, fruits and sodas. They also have a great selection of meats, which I would have been interested in if I lived in the area. They seem to understand how many lanes to have open depending on the crowd. My only gripe is that you have to put all of your items on the tiny counter to check out. Other than that, this place is a nice store to get what you need. read more

Today I was paying for my grocery, I asked for a bag, entered one bag, but added 2 more items, the older lady, Kathy that handed me the bag (1) says loudly," ma'am you did not pay for that bag" body language of hers as though she was going to block me from moving. I explained what may have happened since I added 2 more items, I said, " well, let's handle it ring me up." Kathy says," just pay me." I reported it to Keith right away. The customer service here stinks. Raleys is on the nicer end of grocery stores, unfortunately this one gives it a bad name. I can't speak for the deli or bakery department but their cashiers are not friendly, do not smile and make it uncomfortable to check out with them. I unfortunately just had the privilege of checking out with Deijon, who was SLLLLLOOOOWWWW, never once smiled or greeted any of his customers. He never welcomed me, asked if I found everything ok. All I got was "you need a bag," that was it. He didn't tell me my total, wish me a good day, nothing. The only words the entire transaction were "you need a bag." I'd say some customer service training could go a long way in this store. This is not the first time I've encountered lacking customer service. I love Raley's due to the location! It's in a busy area of Fairfield, a few other shops near by & food choices galore. The store is welcoming with signs to greet you, but lets face it...it's a grocery store! Pros: Location Location Location Meat selection Produce Cons: Price is higher I am a life long Safeway guy, but Lucky's, Alphabeta, Molly Stones, & Target have seen my business too. I always had a Safeway down the road and another store a little further. Same style of setup since these stores are anchors for the show around them. Rightfully so, tons of foot traffic! However, since I moved to Fairfield a year ago, I've hit up Safeway once; WinCo about 3-5 times; Grocery Outlet; Target. But I always come back to Raley's. Each visit is more or less the same since I know where things are so there isn't not much interaction there. I always smile and say hello to the workers & checker. And always put your cart in their rack outside as they appreciate it...as do other shoppers. All in all price is a bit higher but it's location cannot be beat! read more

My cakes always come out great from this Raley, this time my cake wasn't what I order the African American designer lady gave me part of my money back for what I paid for the cake. I spent $60 for that cake I was told to speak to a manager about the cake for a full refund the cake designer wanted to explain to me why the cake came out the way it did. Spring Break is over and I drove my Son to the Sacramento Airport early this morning for his return trip to Portland. SAC is 70+ miles from the Pleasant Hill house, while OAK is about 30. My decision was made several months ago as the price difference on Southwest made the extended trip worth it. Well, leaving the house at 4:30 AM wasn't so hot, so maybe I should rethink price vs. value here. On my way back, it was still early and I thought that I could get some light grocery shopping in on my way back. I could see the sign of this Raley's from I-80 and it's an easy off and then back on the Freeway again. I had high Hope's for this grocery store. Admittedly, the organic produce was beautiful and prices were just fine. Large selection of chocolates from the area, greatly appreciated! Unfortunately the tempeh bacon I purchased was moldy. I'm pretty dissapointed in that. The broccoli I got was also on its last leg upon further smelling of the produce. I'm willing to look past this because the workers were cool and super friendly. Please, more baskets needed around the store and also bags at the actual bagging area would be helpful for faster leaving after purchase. Staff is friendly for 6:30AM, so it helps to see a smile when we both are miserable for being up so damn early in the morning! I normally NEVER write negative reviews because I literally do not care about most minor inconveniences and issues but this was truly not ok. I came here tonight as a last resort to get a Christmas tree with my partner after we saw some in the parking lot. We had tried a few other places that were closed already so we thought why not just get one here real quick? When inside, a very kind gentleman rang us up and said if we "asked nicely" he could help us put it on. I thought he was just being funny but I did not realize no one was actually going to be able to help us. I know it's Raleys, but Ive bought trees in the past from Costco, Home Depot, and FoodMaxx where they assist you in tying the tree to your car so I just assumed someone would help us. When I went back and asked a worker, she said she'd get a manager to help us. Out comes the store manager, Max, who informed us he's not even supposed to be helping put the tree up because it's a liability but he's going to do it for us. We thanked him and appreciated that. He asked us if we had rope, which we replied we did not. We asked if Raleys had any kind of rope or anything to tie it down with, and he laughed and said no. Whether he realized it or not, he was very unprofessional with his language and his attitude made us feel stupid. He asked us where we were headed, and we told him we lived in another city, and he laughed again and said something like "That shit won't make it to another city, that'll fly right the fuck off without a rope." No one suggested putting it on without a rope? Me and my partner were just discussing going to the store to get rope and come back right before he said that. So my partner replied "I'm aware of that." Max replies, "Ok don't have that attitude with me." What kind of manager speaks like this? I say that as someone who was a manager for over two years and currently works in the service industry. Again, we came here as a LAST RESORT. We weren't prepared. Frankly, it wouldn't matter if we were dumb as bricks and didn't know how to buy a Christmas tree. You don't get to be rude and make someone feel embarrassed and stupid. When we told him he was being rude, he said "What, I'm trying to help you guys, how is that being rude. It's not my fault you guys didn't bring rope." And said "I can get you your money back." At first, we didn't and we were just going to make it work but then we decided we did in fact want to return it after all because of how upsetting the whole thing was. We asked the nice checkout clerk who helped us earlier if we could have the return processed by him and have it approved by a manager and he told us we could. But Max, the manager resisted this and insisted it had to be on HIS register. We vocalized that we did not want to be helped by Max as he made us uncomfortable, and he said "There's no one else here, it's just me. He can't help you." I know this is false because the clerk told us he could do it and I know how POS systems and manager approvals work as someone in the service industry. The clerk began to process the return when he gave in to the coercion of his supervisor (I understand, he's probably subjected to abuse from his boss on a daily basis) and we just ended up doing it on Max's register. I said "Is this how you treat your customers?" and he said "Yep." My partner said "He literally doesn't care" and he literally replied "I don't." Wow. I said that he was being a misogynistic asshole, and he said "I was trying to help you, how is that misogynistic??" Spoiler alert: Because you talked down to us, laughed at us, tried to make us feel stupid, and were a patronizing dickhead. Frankly, I don't have to explain myself. You aren't supposed to be arguing with a customer who is upset. Manager 101. Do your job and stop trying to belittle people. You run a Raley's, not a country. You're not above anyone else. When we explained our frustration with his attitude about the rope, he goes, "It's not a Christmas tree farm." Dude, I know that. But it's how you say things and treat people. Again, we very understanding and empathetic to our fellow workers in the service industry but there's right and there's wrong and this was just wrong. I pray for anyone who has to work under this man. TL;DR : Max at Raleys is the manager and he's a piece of shit who admittedly doesn't care about how he talks to his customer base. Love yourself and shop at Lucky's. read more
