Combo 1 in the back and 1 lb. Shrimp, rice
    Juanna F.

I went with my husband and brother for dinner and ordered Cajun fries with lemon pepper seasoning, combo 1 with atomic medium sauce and an extra 1 lb of shrimp. Our server took our order first on an iPad and we paid before we ate. The Cajun fries with lemon pepper seasoning was seasoned perfectly. It had a kick of spice with citrusy flavor. For our combo 1, we chose 2 lbs of shrimp with head on, which also came with potatoes, corn, and sausages. We got an extra lb of shrimp with head on with a spicier level. We enjoyed our meal with rice. The rice was cooked a bit softer than I liked, but it was still good to soak up the sauce. There is a good amount of seating inside of the restaurant. It seems a bit smaller relative to the Vallejo location. There were some flies when we walked in and the ladies bathroom stank like there was a plumbing issue. Overall, food is delicious and well priced and ambiance can be improved.

We spent over 100.00 and the seafood boil is trash, it's so dried, there's no kind of sauce! So disappointed.

We went we our family of 5 on Saturday afternoon and it was almost alone. We like that. The food was so good. we order shrimp with clamshells. French fries, side rice and clamshells soup. We were in love. The kids also love the Cajun salsa. The service was great, they are really nice and the ambience is nice too.

My friend said she always wanted to try a seafood boil so we dined at this location. We arrived a little after 12pm on a Saturday and were the first ones there. The servers were nice and let us pick where we wanted to sit. Ordering was easy, she picked king crab with shrimp and I got the snow crab with shrimp. Both ordered with garlic butter sauce, mild. I'm not a big fan of sausages, so they let me swap it out for more corn. The food was delicious, but I feel like there was a bit too much garlic. The shrimp was big and juicy and the corn and potatoes were cooked to perfection. There was so much food that we both had leftovers to take home. The sign outside the building was a bit confusing. It has both Mel's Diner and Bag O' Crab on the same building. We walked into Mel's all confused. Make sure you pick the right door to enter if you're not familiar with the area. Also, you have to pay after you order. It's a little weird because I like to leave tip depending on how well my service was. It's understandable because I'm sure there's been people who walk out on the bill, I just found it to be a bit awkward.

Being that this is the only seafood boil place in Fairfield, it's not bad! My family and I have eaten here a couple times throughout the years and we like it a lot. It's always pretty clean in there and I have no complaints with the service. The only thing that is different than usual is that they have you pay and tip right after you order and before you get your food. I also wish they can put your seafood boil in a bowl or on a tray instead of a bag so it's easier to eat. I usually order a Combo #2, atomic flavor, and medium spice. We decided to try the garlic noodles this time and I thought it was good, pretty straightforward garlic noodle flavor.

We decided to check out this restaurant as we were leaving yesterday since the game was on. We came to visit Fairfield for an event and stayed at the Hilton located in the same parking lot as this restaurant. We were greeted when we walked in considering it was a little busy and There were only two people working the time to get seated and serviced was a bit extended, but nothing to complain about. I didn't do a mini preview of the restaurant on yelp and saw that on average it acquired 3.3 stars, I specifically did not look at what was the reviews that led to that type of rating. I wanted to give this place a fair shot on my own. I ordered garlic noodles and a six piece order of lemon pepper wings. I will say the garlic noodles are the best noodles I've tasted in a long time. My only complaint though is, I don't understand why you can't add on shrimp or another meat choice that is also listed as an add-on for other things. That didn't make any sense to me, but I didn't feel like arguing about it. I was still pleased with the noodles . The lemon pepper wings were cooked extra crispy as I requested however, I'm glad I do not have sodium issues because they were way over seasoned. I have to be honest about that. They were just OK. I think that should be a suggestion for the future to not over season fluid in general, but especially the wings. My friend ordered a bag of crab with the Louisiana flavor for seasoning. She seemed pleased and my other friend ordered a shrimp Poboy sandwich and she seemed pleased as well. I feel that when it comes to seating, considering it wasn't busy there should not have been a limitation on where people could sit since there were a great amount of tables that were empty. I noticed that from the patrons that came in after us who literally ended up sitting where we were, which was not a problem. This is a restaurant I would bring the family to on a random if I just so happen to be out in Fairfield, but most likely I will be doing a to go order if I do come back here for the garlic noodles only. I'm giving this restaurant four out of five stars because of the add-on issue regarding the shrimp only I feel that should be an option since it's an item that can be used as a side to a crab bag.

swai Fried Fish Basket & Fried Oyster Basket

First time going here with my girlfriend's family. We got the 1 pound shrimp and clams with atomic medium spice. Great seasoning and little oily. Fresh seafood and perfect kick of spice. We also got the fried oysters basket. Fresh and perfect batter. Cajun fries is a 3/10 not enough Cajun seasoning and fries were a little soggy. We got the swai fish also, very fresh and tasty. Service was great. Got seated right away and water handed to us. Our server was so kind to walk us through the menu. They checked up on us multiple times and making sure we were doing great. Great lighting inside. Great place to go to for big parties or just a night out. Clean restaurant.

Shrimp head off, potatoes, corn, sausage, and eggs with mild atomic sauce
    Jennifer U.

1st time trying this place on a slow Tuesday afternoon. Walked in and there was only 1 table occupied. Got seated right away. Like someone said, expect to pay directly after ordering! Lots of garlic in the sauce but it also seemed "watered down" like it needed more actual seasoning. As for the food and portion, it was freshly made and decent enough. I was happy for the side of lemon wedges which I squeezed into the Salt and pepper container for happy dipping. Also used the gloves and wet wipe provided. I did not bother with the bibb. The tables are covered with a butcher paper type thing and there was ample napkins. I agree with others about the service because after I got my drink and food, they never came around to check on me and I actually had to walk up to them to get a bag to take my leftovers home. Will I go there again? I might try other locations 1st.

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. The vibe, the style, the food, and the people all come together here. Easy five stars. I'll definitely be back.

Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.

Earlier that evening, we had stopped at the Filling Station for drinks and did not experience any issues. The bartenders were friendly and kindly helped us. When we returned after dinner, several of us were seated outside while a few coworkers went to the bar to order additional drinks. While we were waiting, an unknown male walked directly toward our group. He approached the only male coworker seated with us, placed both hands on his shoulders, leaned in, and said something into his ear. The man then walked away. After the man walked away from the table, we asked our coworker what he said, and he told us, "If you leave another empty glass on my table, I will kill you." My coworker appeared confused and stated that he did not know the individual. As the man walked away, another coworker and I stood up and asked what had happened. The man continued walking away without responding. At that point, two women who were nearby began arguing with members of our group. During the verbal exchange, one of the women pushed my coworker. Prior to this interaction, the same women had instructed my manager to move over on the bench as soon as space became available. Following the verbal and physical confrontation initiated by the other party, a bartender from the Filling Station directed our group to leave the premises. The other individuals involved in the confrontation were not asked to leave and remained at the venue. Our group complied and walked across the street. From that location, we observed several patrons and staff from the Filling Station pointing in our direction and laughing. A short time later, we observed one of the bartenders walk to the unknown male's parked vehicle, move the vehicle to a parking space adjacent to the Filling Station, hand the keys to the male, and the male then drove away. Law enforcement responded to the scene, and a police report was taken.

A lifetime ago, I grew up in Vacaville. I was more than familiar with the bland banality &…read morecomfortable boredom of the town. Which was why when craft beer boomed everywhere else, I wasn't at all surprised that it was largely absent from Vacaville. & that is also why Solano Brewing Company was such a pleasant discovery for me. On a visit back to the area, a friend I used to homebrew with for years introduced me to an actual craft brewery with, technically, a Vacaville address. While it's a good distance outside of town, it's still close enough to be someplace to go around Vacaville that's more interesting than the town's repetitive corporate chain dining & big box retail. It's a great spot to grab some quality brews. There's plenty of parking. There's inviting spaces, both indoor & outdoor, for sitting & relaxing a while. The outdoor area is quite expansive. The service has been friendly & welcoming. & yeah, I like the beers. For me, Solano Brewing Company is 1 of the better breweries in the Vacaville/ Dixon/ Davis region. So if you're in, around, or near Vacaville looking for a day/ night out to chill & maybe have a beer, consider Solano Brewing Company as an alternative to the ho-hum humdrum predictable complacency of the town's many name recognition chain brands. Whenever I'm back around these parts, I'll likely be back

Late bloomer here in regard to going to Solano Brewing Company (SBC). I know it's been open for…read moremore than a few years now, but I just started going to it this past January. I now have so much fun there, I have begun to go at least once a week. First off, the staff is wonderful. I don't know everyone's names, but they are always happy and helpful. Any questions regarding any of the beers or anything else for that matter are promptly answered. If its beer related and you just aren't sure, they happily offer a taster. I find almost all the beers delightful. There's been a few duds, but I like that they are always trying new things. The menu has some consistent favorites, but you'll see new items fairly consistently. I especially enjoy "Hazy on the 80" and the "Scottie Rippen". Inside seating is somewhat limited but it's cozy and there are seats at the bar as well. Outside seating is plentiful and awesome on a beautiful day. Plenty of covered areas as well for the not so pleasant days. Kids and pets are very welcome. There's a playground and grassy area. It's also spacious enough if you just want to be around other adults and not be bothered by all that type of hoopla. There is a rotating carousel of food trucks and live music. Best to check their website calendar to see who is there and when. Plenty of great trucks and wonderful bands from what I've seen thus far. There are also themed events ranging from cornhole tournaments to music bingo. So don't be like me and sit around for years before going. Get off your culo and meet the gang out there. You'll be sure to have a great time!
