I was craving caldo de res on a chilly Sunday afternoon, and after browsing Yelp, this spot popped up so I had to check it out. And wow, I'm so glad I did! The place is medium-sized, super clean, with about 50 seats, two TVs, and plenty of space. It wasn't busy, which made it nice and peaceful. We were greeted right away by the nicest gentleman who took our order super friendly and patient while we looked over the menu. We ordered the caldo de res and it was *amazing*. Perfect for a cold day! The meat was unbelievably tender, the veggies were full of flavor, and the sides of onions, cilantro, and lime just made everything even better. Then came the tortillas... flour, corn, or handmade. And seriously handmade is the only right answer. They were insanely good. Pure deliciousness. We also got chips and guac, and the guacamole was spot-on fresh, flavorful, with perfectly chopped onions. They also have agua de Jamaica, horchata, and fresa, which just made the whole meal even better. I really wanted to try their pupusas too, so that's a guaranteed reason to come back. I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone craving authentic, delicious Mexican food. Everything hit the spot!

Okay, I gave this place another shot. This time I personally went in and got to experience the atmosphere. Kevin, the young man helping was super informative, friendly, and helpful 5/5. The inside is clean, with minimal decor but brightly colored, 3.5/5. I ordered a carnitas torta with jalapeño on the side, one Revuelta, and two Cheese and zucchini pupusas. The torta was soooo delicious, the bread was chewy and well toasted, carnitas juicy and flavorful, and the perfect amount of beans was layered on, this was a hard 4.8/5 for me. The pupusas was well cooked, the revuelta was well marinated but I would have preferred it be cooked a little longer with just a bit more cheese, 4.25/5, the zucchini and cheese was filled with lots of cheese and I really enjoyed that 4.75/5. The pickled cabbage had a good amount of oregano, and so I ate it all 4.25/5. Overall, I do still give a 4.4/5, but I'm gonna give 5 stars because Kevin really made the experience pleasant and he should be given props!

This was recommended by my client and I am so glad I took up his recommendation. I ordered a cheese & jalapeño pupusa and a pork & cheese pupusa for takeaway while on a business trip. Omg, best pupusas ever. Not badly priced either. Service was quick and friendly, I was given two sauces and cortido (the pickled cabbage) and it was all amazing. Can't wait for my next trip.

The rest of my asada burrito

This place is literally the best Mexican food I've had in a while. I ordered an asada super burrito (which was large), empanadas, papusa and Horchata. I live in Sacramento and I haven't found ANY good Mexican food in my area and my sister who lives in suisun always talks so highly about this place so we gave it a try tonight and I wasn't disappointed at all. I tried a little bit of everything we ordered as well and the tamales my sister ordered and literally it's the best I've had in a long time. I highly recommend this place if you want good Mexican food

    Pupusas Revuelta well done

SERVICE: You can go to the counter to order to go, or take a seat and someone will come and take your order. There were fresh roses on the tables for decoration, which were very pretty! FOOD: I got two revueltas pupusas. When I ordered, the waitress asked if I wanted them well done, which I haven't heard before. I said yes and I'm glad that I did. The pupusas had some crunchy bits on the edges from fried cheese coming out from the inside. The pork was also very flavorful and tasty! The pupusas were also very large, about 5 inches in diameter. They also don't skimp on the filling, I got lots of pork, beans, and cheese in every bite. OVERALL: The food was so yummy, I'd definitely come and eat here again. I'd probably get the same order too!

    Carnitas plate

Tried this spot today and was pleased to get chips and salsa to the table. The girl was really friendly and the food came out quick. I got the carnitas plate, the meat was a bit chewy, my wife described the taste as "weird and old". The rice and beans were good. My wife got the camarones a La diabla, the sauce was rich with a nice spice to it. Shrimps were cooked nicely. The interior is low budget with a few TVs that were unfortunately playing some sort of infomercial at an annoying volume. I wish them the best, we were there at noon on a Monday and were the only customers in the place.

    Highly recommended

My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing, but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. Walking in, I was immediately greeted with smiling and welcoming vibes from the ladies at the front and told to take a seat wherever I'd like to sit. The hit for me is that MENUDO is available on a non-weekend! I've been craving it and when I ordered it (on a Tuesday), I hoped it would be fresh and it was! The broth was savory and flavorful as is but with the added oregano, dried peppers, onions, and cilantro to my liking- it just made it even better! The best part was that you can either order it with pata or no pata. Shoooot, you don't have to ask me twice! I said I want the pata hahahaha that with tender and not overcooked tripe was just what I was wanting! If you love menudo, this is a place I'd recommend and go to get it regularly. The MICHELADA MARISCADA is tasty! It's a mixture of seafood in a sweet and tangy sauce. For those who do not like spice, this is a great option. I was with someone who doesn't like spicy food and isn't a big fan of Mexican food but MAN! she killed the entire plate! So now we have a place that we both can really enjoy together. Will be back!!

The chicken quesadilla really set it off for me as well. It was flavorful, nice portion size and I enjoyed the dip that came with it also. The Lows: The food was kinda expensive. It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price. The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. The parking was a little tough. The service was cool for our to go order.

Unfortunately, the food is where things fell apart. When I walked in, I asked if they had a super burrito since I didn't see it on the menu. The gentleman taking my order said they did, so I ordered a carne asada super burrito. A regular burrito on the menu was listed at $8.99, but my super burrito came out to a little over $16 after tax. I also noticed Yelp lists the super burrito at $10.99, so maybe the prices have changed, but that's still a pretty big jump from the regular burrito. The burrito itself was huge, but after the first few bites, I was honestly disappointed. The carne asada was unusually stringy and fatty, which isn't something I've ever experienced with carne asada burritos before. I kept eating, expecting to get to the guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, but by the halfway point I decided to cut the burrito open. It turned out almost all of those ingredients were packed into the very bottom instead of being distributed throughout. The guacamole also had a sour taste that didn't seem right. I also noticed the burrito I received looked nothing like the photos posted here on Yelp, so I'm not sure if the recipe has changed since those pictures were taken. As someone who loves burritos and rarely passes one up, this was, unfortunately, one to forget. The free fountain drink and chips were a nice bonus, but they couldn't make up for the burrito itself. I genuinely wish this restaurant the best because the staff were excellent, but the food just didn't live up to my expectations.

We were able to sit down right away in the bar area so that was nice. Our waiter came over pretty quick to see if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered some waters, a Paloma, and a beer. He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. The Chicken inside the enchilada was tender and tasty, the tamale was also fresh, tender, and cooked perfect. The highlight of the meal even with everything tasting great already were the beans. The beans had so much flavor to them, and cooked perfect. I don't know what they put in the beans or how they make them but, they are the best refried beans I've ever had. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend
