This is the only place in Vacaville that I'll go for carnitas. I don't care how many pop up tents or food trucks there are, this place gets carnitas right all the time, every time. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the salsa is fresh. Did Iemtion that the carnitas are delicious? Juicy and flavorful is all I ask when it comes to carnitas, why oh why do so many other places get it so wrong???? Their phone number, (707) 447-0709, gets a "number is disconnected' error when calling. I tried door dashing a bunch of food from them, the main thing I ordered was 3 enchiladas. Order arrived, ZERO enchiladas...?!?! Cool, thanks! Order was placed on 10/14/2025 at about 6:45pm if the owners would like to look up to see what on earth happened. I go to El Patron often and I usually have a good experience there. The food is good and pretty reasonably priced. We really like the grilled chicken tacos, pastor wet burritos, and pastor or asada chimichangas. The service is generally pretty quick too. I'll call ahead and my food is typically ready in 5-10 minutes. The food is always hot when I get it home. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM JOSE. We always come here and never had an issue up until today. There was a piece of facial hair in my food and my partners, when we went up to show the cashier, Jose wiped it off the plate and accused him of lying saying there was no hair. All we asked for was a refund or a new plate since I had barely touched mine. He was very smug. If anything is in your food take a picture before hand because he will wipe it off. read more

This is genuine Mexican food. I enjoy a good burrito or enchilada on occasion and these guys have the best in Vacaville. Located on Main by the park don't be scared off by parking. Big parking lots behind the restaurant. Friendly service. Lots of casual seating inside. Huge menu and food prepared fresh and onsite. The burritos are huge but it's quality of the food keeps me coming back. read more

El Patron is a delicious go-to spot if you are hankering for an impressively huge wet burrito! I am from Los Angeles and this burrito can go toe-to-toe with some of the finest burrito spots in SoCal. I have yet to try other food there so I will report more once I get a chance. The salsa tastes good, the beans were perfecto, and the Mexican cervezita was nice and cold. Que mas quieres!? We tried this place because of the great reviews. They were so wrong. I found myself wondering if I had covid again because this food had no flavor. Husband felt the exact same way. I ordered a wet burrito with grilled chicken, husband ordered a super burrito with al pastor. Both completely flavorless! We are not at all sick by the way, just really missing good Mexican food. This used to be one of my favorite Mexican spots in Vacaville, and I will be back, hopefully my last visit was just a fluke, but I'm not sure anymore. My family ordered 2 enchilada plates, a burrito, 2x pozole, tacos (chicken and steak), horchata, and jamaica drink. EVERYTHING was tasted bland and watered down, even the salsa they gave us, and it was so confusing! Where was the flavor? After adding a bunch of limes, hot sauce, and basic seasonings from our house, everything still tasted meh. Just generally disappointing and felt like a waste of ~$65. Glad to have supported a local business but I certainly hope our next experience is better. read more

the best flavors of Mexican food. we order the lunch plates with a tamale and rice and beans for around $8.00. you have a choice of other entrees also. We think that it is the best in Vacaville. The salsa bar is self serve and we use it for the red sauce and jalapenos. good menu with a lot to select from. read more

First time coming here. Husband ordered a menudo, I ordered a torta de asada. Do not recommend wasting your time ordering. The torta was somewhat okay. The menudo was flavorless, and it didn't have color. We work in the industry and never send items back, but this time we felt like the menudo had to go back, when my husband asked if he could ordered something else he was told no and wasn't even reimburse for something he didn't eat. The service could have been better and the least they could've done when we took the menudo back was offered something else. It is also not clean and the bathrooms are filthy. read more

Attended a Friday the 13th tattoo special at anchor tattoo. While waiting the hours to get tattooed we got hungry and tried this place. We aren't from Vacaville and saw the good reviews. Yeah, no thanks. We ordered carne asada fries and a carnitas super burrito. The carnitas were drier than the Sahara and tasted burnt. The rest of the burrito was nothing to write home for. One flavor profile. The carne asada fries we way over topped with guacamole and sour cream. Like smothered in them. Not really any pico de gallo and small pieces of meat. read more

Honestly if you want a Mexican restaurant that feels like your own mom/dad/parent/ or caregiver made it for you with love and delicious flavor. Look no further! The prices are reasonable cheap, and the food taste good! The guys in the front are also the sweetest and funniest people, for folks who are constantly busy with orders over the phone or online. They were incredible fast and kind with getting our orders and everyone who came in quickly and giving them there food. 10/10 would definitely recommend and it's my new regular place. read more

The fryer oil they were using was bad. The chips had an awful taste and my daughter's chimichanga had the same flavor and big black bits stuck to it. It's a huge place, but there were only 2 other people there. It smelled weird like bathroom and cheap cleaning products and there were flies buzzing around the inside of the dirty front window. A lot of people fit in here but it doesn't feel too squished, you have room. The menu is pretty big and the prices are really great. And I loved the chips and salsa that arrive once you sit down. You get 4 salsas!! I ordered the shrimp tostadas on a whim, felt nervous about making the wrong choice, but ended up loving them. I barely had leftovers! The shrimp were perfectly cooked with a slight smoky char and lots of citrus, and the pickled cabbage and green sauce were both super fresh and different and delicious. With a little sour cream on the side, these tostadas felt indulgent and light at the same time. Our hostess, waitress, and bartender were all super kind and relaxed, despite how busy they were. The staff seems pretty small compared to the amount of people in here, but they handle it well. We had to wait a good 10 minutes to order once we were sat, but once we did, our food and drinks came out quickly. Hot and fresh and colorful and so good!
