Came here for Father's. It was our first time. Service was great, they had music playing in the background. Offered karaoke for that specific evening. The food was really good. They started us out with chips and salsa. The salsa was very good. We ordered Queso fundido as an appetizer, it was delicious. I ordered the Chilaquiles Divorciados, they were good, the sauces were lacking a bit of flavor, other than that, they were good. My hubby had the Carnes en su Jugo, he loved his dish. My daughter had the aguachiles, they were very delicious. To drink, my hubby had 2 Micheladas, he said they were ok. I had a regular Margarita, that was ok as well. We also ordered an horchata and a Jamaica drink, they were both very good. We had our grandson with us and I loved that they offer pancakes. He liked them a lot. Overall, I really liked the ambiance of this restaurant, I really enjoyed the music. The food was good and the cool thing was that my husband asked if my daughter could sing him a song through karaoke, and they allowed it. Very cool experience. I do recommend this place and I will definitely come by again.

If you're in Fairfield and craving authentic Mexican food, Valentina's is definitely worth a visit! I stopped by with my son and we ended up trying a little bit of everything--and honestly, everything hit. We started with a mollete as an appetizer, which was such a great choice. It came out warm, crispy, and loaded with flavor--simple but done really well. For our mains, my son ordered the carne asada fries and absolutely loved them. Generous portion, perfectly seasoned meat, and all the toppings you want--definitely something I'd come back for on its own. I went all in on the tacos and tried a variety: buche, barbacoa, carnitas, and steak. Each one had its own flavor and none of them disappointed. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and tasted fresh--not greasy or heavy. The barbacoa and carnitas were probably my favorites, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. On top of the food, the service was absolutely on point. Our drinks were constantly refilled, the chips and salsa kept coming without us even having to ask, and the whole place was really clean--which always makes a difference. The menu has a ton of options, from breakfast plates to seafood and burritos, so there's something for everyone. It's the kind of spot where you could come back multiple times and still have new things to try. Overall, great food, great service, solid portions, and a relaxed vibe. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to!

This was what they advertised and what I received ( Carne Asada Torta )

They absolutely deserve 0 stars ,,, The whole order was wrong a absolutely horrible . Asked for no tomatoes, they added tomatoes, I will let the photos speak for themselves , they should be ashamed of themselves for the food they send out . WOW ,,, arguably the WORST Mexican food I have ever had .. This was a pick up order . See photos and captions !!!

bright clean and spacious dining area with lots of booths. service was fast and friendly. starting with the chips and salsa, was really hoping for some homemade chips, but no, store bought and slightly stale. salsa tasted store bought as well, but not bad. i'll never understand why a mexican restaurant with at least one deep fryer (i know because they have fries on the menu) wouldn't use leftover tortillas to make fresh chips daily. moving on, ordered a michelada which says it comes over ice, did not come over ice. still tasty though. wife ordered a super wet burrito because she wanted sour cream and lettuce inside, but it did not come with that. still tasty with nicely grilled flavor on the carne asada. i'd been craving some enchiladas for a while and ordered the chicken enchilada plate, the server asked if i wanted green or red sauce, i asked for red but it came with green. still tasty, a couple bites had gristle, but that happens with chicken sometimes. the plates came out with 3 different squeeze hot sauces, 2 red and one green. we both liked the darker of the two reds. the server was quick and nice but we probably won't be going back.

BLUF: Good-to-great service might overcome sub-par food, but good-to-great food does not overcome sub-par service. Based on my dining experience, Valentina's was an example of the latter. Two stars only because of the cook! Having a yen for some authentic Mexican cuisine, I did some research online and noted that Valentina's had racked up an impressive number of positive reviews. Since I was running some errands in the vicinity, I decided to stop by for an early dinner. I had my choice of seats, and the waitress promptly brought chips and salsa. My drink and meal orders (shrimp fajitas) were taken a few minutes later-so far, so good. My meal arrived (sizzling on a cast-iron serving pan!) after 10-15 minutes, and it was delicious. The waitress stopped by a few minutes after serving the food to ensure that all was well. The portions, as noted by other reviewers, were generous. By the time I had finished eating, there was still a third to a half of the original meal remaining, and I looked forward to taking home the leftovers. At this point, the waitress was assisting another patron with paying a bill and seating another party of two (these individuals and I were the only patrons in the restaurant). The waitress took the other party's drink and meal orders; I expected a follow-up with me to see if I wanted the extra food boxed and to get the check. Nope! The order was delivered to the kitchen and drinks to the other party. At this point, the waitress went back to the kitchen. And I waited. . .and waited. . .and waited. I would have asked another member of the staff for assistance, except that for at least 10 minutes, no staff entered the dining area! Finally, the waitress served the other party their meals and checked in with me. I had wanted a to-go container, but elected not to do so for fear of having to wait another extended period. I waited between 15 and 20 minutes after finishing my meal before I could inform the waitress that I was finished. If I had sufficient cash to pay for the meal, I would have left the requisite amount on the table and left. The only reason I tipped was to ensure that the back-of-house staff was recognized for their efforts. I have eaten in at least a thousand dining establishments across the US and around the world, some with questionable sanitation practices and others where I did not want to know what kind of meat was being served. Despite these issues, I would rank these businesses above Valentina's simply because the proprietors and front-of-house staff had a service-oriented attitude. I'll let this review, my wallet, and my feet do the talking and won't return to Valentina's. I know this likely won't affect the restaurant's future performance or patronage, and that this review is an outlier when compared to the others. However, I simply can't provide a positive (or even mediocre) recommendation, in writing or by word of mouth, for an establishment that made me feel as if I were being held hostage.

    NO ONIONS!!

I don't recommend this place! My wife order through door dash. NO ONIONS! She is allergic!! Looks like extra onions to me! Door dash only gives you a partial refund. And this goes straight in the garbage!

This was absolutely disgusting and misleading. They give you pork grinds from a bag and not actual chicharrón while their menu states exactly what is pictured chicharrón with meat. NOT BAGGED PORK GRINDS.

Service was awesome very nice , the issue was the food my sons friend had tacos which he said was ok, my son got two queso birrias and rice and beans the consume was very fatty tasting the side of rice and beans we kid sized. Other than that he said they were good. Now hubby's food chiliquillas with red and green sauce they were not normal it's like they fried the tortillas and poured sauce over them and plus there were shells in the eggs and very small portion not very tasty my plate huevos rancheros I asked for my eggs over medium. They were very runny. There was one tortilla with two eggs very small portions and not very tasty at all. It's a cute place but defiantly need to serve bigger portions and up the food seasonings . But it's for you to try on your own this is just our opinion

Great prices and friendly service, items that we have tried multiple times and recommend are: -carne en su jugo -tacos al vapor -lonche de pierna -torta ahogada Chilaquiles were ok-probably wouldn't order that again.

Walking in, I was immediately greeted with smiling and welcoming vibes from the ladies at the front and told to take a seat wherever I'd like to sit. The hit for me is that MENUDO is available on a non-weekend! I've been craving it and when I ordered it (on a Tuesday), I hoped it would be fresh and it was! The broth was savory and flavorful as is but with the added oregano, dried peppers, onions, and cilantro to my liking- it just made it even better! The best part was that you can either order it with pata or no pata. Shoooot, you don't have to ask me twice! I said I want the pata hahahaha that with tender and not overcooked tripe was just what I was wanting! If you love menudo, this is a place I'd recommend and go to get it regularly. The MICHELADA MARISCADA is tasty! It's a mixture of seafood in a sweet and tangy sauce. For those who do not like spice, this is a great option. I was with someone who doesn't like spicy food and isn't a big fan of Mexican food but MAN! she killed the entire plate! So now we have a place that we both can really enjoy together. Will be back!!

It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price. The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. The parking was a little tough. The service was cool for our to go order.

Unfortunately, the food is where things fell apart. When I walked in, I asked if they had a super burrito since I didn't see it on the menu. The gentleman taking my order said they did, so I ordered a carne asada super burrito. A regular burrito on the menu was listed at $8.99, but my super burrito came out to a little over $16 after tax. I also noticed Yelp lists the super burrito at $10.99, so maybe the prices have changed, but that's still a pretty big jump from the regular burrito. The burrito itself was huge, but after the first few bites, I was honestly disappointed. The carne asada was unusually stringy and fatty, which isn't something I've ever experienced with carne asada burritos before. I kept eating, expecting to get to the guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, but by the halfway point I decided to cut the burrito open. It turned out almost all of those ingredients were packed into the very bottom instead of being distributed throughout. The guacamole also had a sour taste that didn't seem right. I also noticed the burrito I received looked nothing like the photos posted here on Yelp, so I'm not sure if the recipe has changed since those pictures were taken. As someone who loves burritos and rarely passes one up, this was, unfortunately, one to forget. The free fountain drink and chips were a nice bonus, but they couldn't make up for the burrito itself. I genuinely wish this restaurant the best because the staff were excellent, but the food just didn't live up to my expectations.

He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend
