I ordered Mimi's for the first time in over 10 years. I remember many years ago thinking it was okay. Seeing that it was raining and I didn't want to order for my usual spots I decided to give this place a try. I got the Mushroom, Bacon and Brie omelet which sounded stellar! I did not seat inside but it was door dashed to me. The way they packed it was very nice and it came in nice containers, it also looked great. I also like that it gave me an option to have it with either toast or muffin which I found unique. Unfortunately, though the presentation was nice, the omelet was extremely bland. The egg was also overcooked and rubbery, the potatoes were also tasteless. The muffin however was very good, carrot and raisin, delicious. My boyfriend got the chipotle breakfast burrito (which I forgot to take a picture of), he said it was okay, I tasted it and also thought it was fine. Overall, not my cup of tea, but I do see some potential here. Mimi's can sometimes be hit and miss but the last couple times I've eaten here. I've been very happy. Went with my daughter most recently and I had a big old burger with fries. It was amazing. Came here for their Veteran's special with the hubby. Clean establishment with ample parking. I got the new Quiche with potatoes for breakfast. The quiche does was perfect and buttery and I could definitely taste the mushrooms. I wish there was more cheese and I did add some salt to improve the taste. Usually I've liked Mimi's. It's been a while so when we were in the area when we wereclose to one we stopped in. It wasn't what we had experienced before. Only a small room was open causing us to wait a long while until one of the 8 tables were available. I was surprised that were three servers. They could have opened another area or just a table nearby. The food came quickly. The food was fine. We had:. A chicken pot pie, the turkey and fish and chips. We didn't get the bread we had ordered (yummy like carrot cake) but when we flagged over a server, she said , "what do you want now? ". Not sure if it was a joke. So we made note that we didn't get the bread. No apology, she just said I thought you had. Then when we kept trying to get our server and finally flagged a different server to ask for more water, then our server came over and fussed at us for bothering the other server. I let her know we had been trying to flag her. And she annoyingly asked are you going to need anything else? I felt like we were a bother. It's not like they had much to do since each had only 2 tables. I believe that whoever is the manager should work harder to train their staff to be more friendly and helpful. We weren't that demanding. So I'm disappointed. Most likely I won't be coming back. There are a lot of other good restaurants in the area where the waiters are kinder to the patrons. read more

Today we went to Mimi's for my mother-in-law's birthday We ordered four dishes one dessert. Everything was fine until we got up to the salad. Many leaves in the salad were dark brown and rotting (all of the rotting leaves were placed under fresh full looking leaves on the top of the salad, but when I got to the bottom, it was a different story), and the salad had a foul odor to it and taste. I ate at best a few bites and very soon lost my appetite. I'm glad my mother-in-law's food and my husband's food was OK, though as for myself, I will not be returning. My husband and I hadn't been to Mimi's in a little over a year. And wow, what a pleasant surprise! First of all, the service was just as great as it's always been. Every person there kept an eye on every table, which meant that you didn't have to wait long for anything you needed. Then we were overwhelmed with how much the menu has expanded. Decided to switch things up from Mel's Diner to Mimi's Cafe. Mimi's Cafe came to be a great choice. We were surprised to see a nice menu with many options for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mimi's was prefect for family brunch. Service could use improvement. The gentleman, assuming host simply asked how many, grabbed menus and sat us. No real greeting. Our server was a very nice knowledgeable lady. Bonus for not being afraid for speaking two languages. Place was quiet for a Sunday. Family ordered a few different menu items and all were good. I ordered a cappuccino 10/10 & crab cake Benedict 7.5/10 -could be crispy. My husband ordered peanut butter iced coffee 9/10 different ! As well as breakfast burrito, loaded and tasty with a kick of spice. Rest of the family ordered beignets 10/10, griddle cakes 10/10, berry iced coffee 7/10 , jambalaya 9/10. We will be back! We recently breakfasted at Mimi's, and I am writing to warn other potential patrons not to eat there. The only egg dish on the breakfast menu is a Barria meat Omelet. All well and good. We both ordered the omelet. I specifically asked the waiter to cook my omelet soft - not overdone. What we received was two Barria omelets that were grossly overcooked. They were both awful! It could be the omelets were cooked the previous day and just warmed up. Worst omelet I've eaten in years. The food was so bad that my partner, who usually doesn't finish her meals and takes a box home for later, didn't want to take any of her omelet or potatoes home. Instead of dining at Mimi's, go around the corner to Mel's. Mel's has got to be better. Any place would be better. Enough said. read more

We go to Mimi's every couple months for weekend breakfast. It's okay. It's a solid choice when you know what to expect and don't want a wait. The best things about it this location are there is never a wait to get seated and the service is good. Parking is also a breeze/never an issue. We are always warmed greeted and the food comes out fast. Depending on what you get it can come out within minutes. The downside is some food is often lukewarm or even cold... I think they popped it in the microwave or it had been premade in a batch earlier. There's no way the hot entrees can be freshly prepared and come out in less than 5 minutes. However I appreciate they often have seasonal items. Themed drinks and whatnot. The people are nice. If you stick to some Mimi's favorites such as the pain perdu you'll likely be satisfied. read more

I politely told her that I needed hot water with my tea. She took it back then returned with MORE COLD WATER in the teapot! Seriously? I stopped at Mimi's in Fairfield on the way home from Vallejo last night. I haven't been to this restaurant in years! I ordered a half a sandwich ( tuna and cheddar) with a cup of French Onion soup. It was delicious! My daughter ordered a turkey Pesto sandwich. She didn't like the turkey ( too processed), so she did remove it from the sandwich. But, our server Sheryl, was very accommodating and friendly. She did take it off the bill. Sheryl made a fresh pot of coffee for us, also really good! The restaurant was very nice and clean, even the bathroom was spotless. The service excellent ( thank you Sheryl). I will definitely not wait so long to visit Mimi's again. read more

I ordered the Slow Roasted Turkey plate and there was a plate and it did have turkey but it was just sliced deli turkey with gravy on top, just like you would find in a sandwich. Was meeting a buddy of mine here for lunch. I got there early because he only has a 45 min lunch so i thought id check in to get a table. I got there at 2:30 and waited by the front podium to be seated. 4 employees were gathered by the bar chatting it up. No one acknowledged me. I figure they were not servers. But they did not bother to notify anyone that i was waiting. About 9 mins passed of standing there before i my friend showed up. Still no one helped me. People wore their masks when they are not eating and drinking. My uncle ordered their French toast with berries on top and can feed two people. His French had cream cheese filling and topped with sweet syrupy berries. I would hold off from using the maple syrup because the dish is already sweet as it is. My daughter ordered their Signature Trio dish, which consists of half a Turkey Royal sandwich and petite Ceasar's salad. She couldn't eat her sandwich due to the boat load of dried cranberries in the shredded turkey pieces. We thought it was a chicken salad sandwich at first. If you don't like cranberries, then don't order their Turkey Royal sandwich. We are grateful for the excellent customer service. The waitress gave my daughter a different sandwich to eat. I ordered their signature Turkey Pesto sandwich with French fries and corn chowder. The grilled sourdough bread was perfect with the pesto sauce, fresh slices of avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, and Turkey. This dish is my new favorite. Their French fries was super tasty and crunchy too!
