Half eaten rice cake. I couldn't resist taking a bite while waiting for the chicken :)

Flavorful peri peri chicken and warm service near Travis Air Force Base! I went inside on a weekday for a late lunch after the gym. I was able to park close to the entrance. I was greeted right away when I walked through the door. The order counter was right in front of the door and the interior looked clean and simple. The ladies behind the counter, Wilma and Anne, were so nice, welcoming, and took the time to explain the menu options to me. I liked how they were able to adjust the spice level to my liking. When I took a bite of the chicken, the spice was just right. I also appreciated how they let me sample the rice cake Anne made. It was a warm and tasty hand-sized bibingka. I added extra butter on the rice cake when I got home and it made it even tastier. I ordered the peri peri chicken with garlic rice and their house-made pickled cucumbers and red onions ($13). I received 2 big skinless, boneless grilled chicken thighs with basmati garlic rice and the pickled veggies on the side. The whole meal was so big! I thought I could finish it all in one sitting, but the bibingka must've made me too full to eat it all. So I saved the other half for later. Everything went well together and the chicken was so flavorful and juicy. You could taste the love, effort, and quality ingredients in the meal. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the loaded fries and one of their drinks! From their site, I learned they are coming up with a cilantro chicken soon. Can't wait to try that too! Happy to support a local veteran, woman, and Filipino owned business!

    Rice cake

Very friendly staff! Walked in for lunch with my family after my husband found this place on google. They gave us a nice run down on their menu (very limited menu-which is usually a good thing). They do this thing and they do it very well. My mom and I got the mild peri peri chicken and my husband got the spicy. The grilled chicken thigh was beautifully charred and crisp on the outside and juicy and moist on the inside. Covered with a super savory very fresh pepper/peri peri sauce. Idk how but it was all the delicious flavor you get with spicy pepper but none of the heat. Rice was fluffy and the side of pickled cucumber and red onion was perfect. My husbands chicken was also delicious- the perfect amount of spice. If you are spice sensitive definitely go with mild but I also love hot and this was delicious but not playing around. I also ordered the rice cake and it was really yummy. Dense and slightly sweet with crunchy top with some cheese. It went great with the chicken. Place was very quiet and plenty of seating. Would definitely recommend for a quick and tasty lunch!

In my opinion, the restaurant could use some remodeling and general updates. The structure feels a little dated, and there are small details that stand out if you're paying attention. The mimosa flights are what seem to draw a big crowd. They're cute and very aesthetic, which I think is part of the appeal. Some of them can be on the sweeter side, so if you enjoy fruity, sweet drinks, you'll probably love them. As for the food, it just hasn't been my favorite. I've tried several items over multiple visits because friends enjoy going there. The chicken and waffles were okay, nothing special. The omelet was decent but not memorable. I tried the chilaquiles once and wouldn't order them again. They were very heavy on the sauce for my taste. I also found some items like the hash browns a bit too greasy, the fries are three large wedges, not my favorite. On the positive side, most of the servers I've had have been friendly and attentive, and the bathrooms have always been clean, which I appreciate. Overall, Maple Bar Cafe may be a great fit if you love sweet brunch options and fun mimosa flights. It just isn't my personal go-to spot, but I can see why others enjoy it.

Seeing that it was raining and I didn't want to order for my usual spots I decided to give this place a try. I got the Mushroom, Bacon and Brie omelet which sounded stellar! I did not seat inside but it was door dashed to me. The way they packed it was very nice and it came in nice containers, it also looked great. I also like that it gave me an option to have it with either toast or muffin which I found unique. Unfortunately, though the presentation was nice, the omelet was extremely bland. The egg was also overcooked and rubbery, the potatoes were also tasteless. The muffin however was very good, carrot and raisin, delicious. My boyfriend got the chipotle breakfast burrito (which I forgot to take a picture of), he said it was okay, I tasted it and also thought it was fine. Overall, not my cup of tea, but I do see some potential here. I think with minor tweaks this could be a great spot but I may give it awhile before returning (hopefully not another 10 years).

Food/drinks came out so quick & it was all still warm too. They checked in multiple times and were very accommodating! Food - OMG! I feel a sense of nostalgia for any Mimi's Cafe (maybe bc there are so little stores in the Bay) but we ordered the Bread Pudding French Toast & Brie & Mushroom Melt & cleaned our plates off! Served hot off the stove & cooked perfectly! Ended the meal with some to go muffins that were so fresh and yummy! I would def come again & bring my whole family! What a lovely & warm experience (:

That is an outside patio for the pets, a full bar for my partner, and a place away from everybody. Here comes Rockville kitchen and bar. It's a nice scenic drive to the restaurant, once you're there there's parking to the side of it. Coming up to the restaurant there's a couple tables on the side of the restaurant and more on the patio space. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and was able to look over at the winery across the street. The service was OK, the food was OK, and that's pretty much I can say is OK. My partner ordered the sausage and gravy and my friend ordered the hamburger while I order their sandwich. The food comes out pretty small size but if you're not hungry, it'll satisfy you. We will probably be back into that area because there's a few other restaurants and a winery that she can do tasting at across the street. If we decide to go back to this place, we will only be doing that because they are pet friendly.
