Found this restaurant on Yelp. We were in town for an early appointment on a Saturday morning. This restaurant was one place that was open for breakfast that wasn't a corporate chain restaurant. Our wait was short, less than five minutes. We sat at the bar since the restaurant was already pretty full. Service was good. Food was good. Portion size was good too. Most of all, the prices were beyond reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the homemade corned beef hash - enjoyed it much. We had a pleasant dining experience. We will definitely be back again. When we left the restaurant, there were many people waiting outside to be seated. This tells me this is a good brunch place that people are willing to wait for. Had breakfast here with my mom and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is super cozy and the menu has a good variety. We both ended up ordering the same thing so we didn't get to try a lot of dishes, but what we had was really good and felt like a fair value for the portion. Service was good and friendly. Went on a Saturday morning and had about a 20 min wait. Cozy vibe with lots of historic decor. California omelet was solid. Hash browns were not crispy enough for my liking, and sourdough was not sour enough. French toast was amazing and would recommend! Service was great. They were friendly, quick, and they kept our coffee full. Prices were average. Parking was tricky near the restaurant, but there are free lots nearby that are a short walk away. First off, the place feels cozy and full of character. The food was amazing, I wanted to order like 3 things, so I'll have to come back. I have been to Heritage House Cafe on two occasions. Both of my experiences have been great. I first went with some friends that came for a conference at the church I attend (TFH). The food was exceptional. We only had a small wait. They have a sign-up pad outside the restaurant and some seating out there as you wait. A diner appeal, with a hometown atmosphere. Both times the server was personable and helpful. I had chicken fried steak, eggs, french fries. My two companions had french toast omelet and pancakes hashbrowns, fruit. Everyone loved their food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Now about the french fries, I don't like hashbrowns (texture) so I ask if I could switch to fries, also I added an egg and requested the gravy be put on the side. All of this was no problem. Of course, I was respectful and truly ask, NOT DEMANDED! Kindness goes a long way. Just throwing that out there. We all cleaned our plates. This is now a tradition. We've been coming here for a few years and food is always great. However the last couple of times we came at 1pm and were turned away and told they close at 1:30 when clearly online says 2pm. Both older waitresses are rude and unaccommodating. Suggest changing your online hours unless you are discriminating certain people. This is my first time here. It's a nice little cafe on a corner of a Main Street where you will find more restaurants and shops. The atmosphere was wonderful, I love to see restaurants with old photographs of the town it's located in. The service was outstanding, our server was so nice and so polite, she made us feel at home. I've been on a chicken fried steak binge and I saw it in the menu and had to have it. All because it came with a waffle, go figure. Everything was delicious, the gravy was not as as I expected, but overall, the dish was still really good. My hubby had The Denver Stack, that was very good. My daughter had the Sweet Potato and Hash and it was pretty tasty if you like that sort of food. My grandson had the Mouse Pancake, he loved it. Overall, it was a great breakfast. We finally got to try it when we had an early morning (8:30am) and snagged a table without a wait. The interior is small. The decor is mixed with some western themed items. Our server was Lena. Service was very good. We were checked up on a good amount. The food and check and boxes came in a timely manner. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and a California omelet. The portion sizes are big! I had leftovers for lunch. You get your moneys worth here. You likely will not go home hungry here. I chose for my sides pancakes and the rosemary potatoes. I nearly filled up just eating the pancakes. Generous portions of the rosemary potatoes. The omelet itself tasted exactly like the description. Finally got to try the Heritage House Cafe and it didn't disappoint! Huge everything from a large mug of hot chocolate to tall cups of orange juice, to long bacon strips, scrambled eggs, 3 piled high French toast and pancakes, including the country potatoes, rosemary potatoes and sourdough toast. Our server Maria brought us most of our food within a few minutes and the rest came out a couple minutes after that. Hubby enjoyed the sausage in his order, our granddaughter enjoyed her Mickey Mouse eared pancake with her fave, BACON! The place was starting to fill up by the time we were done, as we got there about 7:45 am. It was our first time, so we enjoyed looking at the nostalgic decor that brings you back to the days of yesteryear. We decided to go on a Saturday. We already knew there would be a line as this is a very popular place. You walk up and place your name on a list. The restaurant is small inside so you wait outside. From the list we figured it would be a 20+ min wait. We walked down to the farmers market and did a quick stroll and turn around. By the time we got back we stood there for probably 2 mins and we were called. The inside is cute, decorated well and feels like an artsy grandmas house. We ordered the chicken fried steak, blueberry French toast, pancake, regular two egg breakfast, and mimosa carafe. The chicken fried steak was good nothing spectacular. On the smaller side if you are used to places like Black Bear. The two egg breakfast is what you would expect, the bacon and sausage was cooked perfect. Pancake was ok. The French toast was not as delicious as the pictures make you think. Very simple French toast with blueberry sauce, the sauce isn't a sweet type of sauce just blueberries. Our server was excellent which is why this is a four star as the food is more a 3 for me. The mimosa was not that great, could be the flavor we picked, which was the POG. Decent mix of champagne and juice, I've just had better. All in all if you don't want to make breakfast at home, and you just want a simple meal, that you could make yourself, this is the place.
