Their menu selection is to my liking. Particularly the omelette entrées. There's the meat lovers, and other traditional omelettes like the Denver. Sometimes I crave just meat and cheese and no veggies which they serve. They also serve a ham & egg scramble which is eggs and diced ham. The food portion sizes are also large. One can easily share a meal if you are a lite breakfast eater. The sour dough toast slices were even large as well as my croissant. I ordered BLTA croissant, which is BLT and Avocado. Thick slices of tomato, avocado, and crisp iceberg lettuce with lite mayo spread and comes with your choice of sides. I choose French fries but they have a rosemary breakfast potato I stared to get but maybe next time for sure. My fries were served hot & crispy (not hard). The size of my croissant and mountain of fries covered my entire plate. There is a wait but it is worth every minute. Service is superb. The prices are very reasonable. I also had the peach mango mimosas called Da Bomb! And it was indeed. I got a nice buzz it was cold and refreshing. And not served in a narrow flute glass for only $11. I didn't need a second glass and probably would have stumbled my way out if I had. I've been traveling between Napa and Sacramento for monthly brunches for the past five years. It's a family tradition adopted following the pandemic. Most restaurants that I choose is based on the menu items. Oh and another entrée the Heritage serves is loaded grits. This and the meat lovers omelette caught my attention. Our tab plus beverage and tax for table of two was under $45. If you are a breakfast lover and want a nice breakfast meal in a cozy cafe located in downtown Vacaville where the price is right - you don't want to miss out. There's also out door dining. I don't know the history behind this place or how they been around but this was like finding a gold mine. Not sure how other businesses in the area can compete. Again it's a small cozy spot, warm house atmosphere, not noisy, and once seated food comes faster than the wait time. Excellent customer service. If I was a regular breakfast eater I think I could eat here everyday. I could surly afford it and that's a fact. Well Mac Donald's breakfast is fast and inexpensive and that's the only comparison. There's one restaurant chain I will no longer bother to dine at now that I've been to Heritage House Cafe. If you care not to try Heritage cafe for yourself that's okay. Came here on a Saturday morning around 11:30am and waited about 30 minutes to be seated not bad at all and it was totally worth the wait. We orderd pancakes with blueberry compote, french toast and they were both sooo good. The pancakes nice and fluffy and the french toast was the best I've had so far.The bacon was super good and their country potatoes were cooked to perfection. The biscuits and gravy had really good flavor. Pretty much everything we ordered was fire. Our server was great. She was really nice and attentive to our needs. We used to go for breakfast there all the time and the hashbrowns were great, the eggs were fine and the muffin was always delicious. Last time we went, the hashbrowns were stale. I ordered the apple chicken sausage and it was way overcooked. I couldn't bother eating it. Parking is kind of hit and miss near the entrance but you can always find a park nearby. Inside the tables were clean, music was playing, and customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. Food: I ordered The Cowboy which consisted of eggs, waffle, and chicken fried steak. Everything was hot including the waffle. So nice! The waffle was a slight bit crunchy on top but really soft otherwise and it was delicious! The chicken fried steak was very tender and the gravy wasn't bad but it could have used a bit more salt. The coffee was a bit mild for my liking. Service: When I walked in there was no signage so I stood for a few minutes without acknowledgement. Finally a young man with light brown hair approached and looked at me but walked right past. When he passed again I asked if I was supposed to seat myself? He looked off and muttered "yeah it's going to be a few minutes" then he walked off. It didn't answer my question so I continued to stand until another server invited me to sit at a vacant table. The same young man was observed tossing the food and bussing the table of a nearby customer who had gone to the restroom. His server came to the rescue however by making him a plate to go. My actual server Mary was nice and tended to my needs but it was a bit of a wait between being seated, getting drinks, and placing the order. At the risk of making this place even more popular, this is our favorite breakfast place in Solano County. My favorite, they make a darn good pot of hot English Breakfast tea, even though I could make it at home, this is so good! The wait isn't as long as it might seem when you first see the line of people waiting outside. It does move rather quickly. The service has always been excellent and efficient! The food is homestyle. Very good biscuits and gravy. Their bacon is really good too. For the decor, it is a little history spot. It's a historical location and they have all kinds of historical artifacts around as decor. It's really cute. One Friday night a month, they serve fish and chips for dinner. This is the only time they are open for dinner and it is worth it to mark the day in your calendar! read more

There wasn't as much sauce as I am used to so it felt more like breakfast nachos. But the green salsa was really good. Hubby said the grits were a bit boring but he tried to doctor them up with various other things. They tasted ok to me - at least the texture and consistency was good IMO. Wanted to try it so we decided to make the trip. Got to sit down right away. It was really busy for a random Wednesday morning so I was hopeful. Food came out really good. We liked the crispiness of the sausage patties we got , I loved the French toast. Especially with my crazy French toast craving I been having. Found this restaurant on Yelp. We were in town for an early appointment on a Saturday morning. This restaurant was one place that was open for breakfast that wasn't a corporate chain restaurant. Our wait was short, less than five minutes. We sat at the bar since the restaurant was already pretty full. Service was good. Food was good. Portion size was good too. Most of all, the prices were beyond reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the homemade corned beef hash - enjoyed it much. We had a pleasant dining experience. We will definitely be back again. When we left the restaurant, there were many people waiting outside to be seated. This tells me this is a good brunch place that people are willing to wait for. Went on a Saturday morning and had about a 20 min wait. Cozy vibe with lots of historic decor. California omelet was solid. I have been to Heritage House Cafe on two occasions. Both of my experiences have been great. I first went with some friends that came for a conference at the church I attend (TFH). The food was exceptional. We only had a small wait. They have a sign-up pad outside the restaurant and some seating out there as you wait. A diner appeal, with a hometown atmosphere. Both times the server was personable and helpful. I had chicken fried steak, eggs, french fries. My two companions had french toast omelet and pancakes hashbrowns, fruit. Everyone loved their food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Now about the french fries, I don't like hashbrowns (texture) so I ask if I could switch to fries, also I added an egg and requested the gravy be put on the side. All of this was no problem. Of course, I was respectful and truly ask, NOT DEMANDED! Kindness goes a long way. Just throwing that out there. We all cleaned our plates. This is now a tradition. The atmosphere was wonderful, I love to see restaurants with old photographs of the town it's located in. The service was outstanding, our server was so nice and so polite, she made us feel at home. Finally got to try the Heritage House Cafe and it didn't disappoint! Huge everything from a large mug of hot chocolate to tall cups of orange juice, to long bacon strips, scrambled eggs, 3 piled high French toast and pancakes, including the country potatoes, rosemary potatoes and sourdough toast.
