Love stopping by Fenton's whenever I happen to drive thru Vacaville! It's in the Nut Tree Shopping Center. Huge parking lot so plenty of parking. I've only stopped by for ice cream so I have yet to try their food. There's so many different ice cream flavors to choose from. Definitely have to sample a few flavors! I've had their toasted almond, coffee cookie dream & seasonal bananas foster. Love how creamy the ice cream is!

The kitchen needed to increase their focus. Besides this slight delay in our substitution which were free as an adequate apology, Fentons showed us why they have a hundred legacy...customer service. If you want a family eatery with finer ice cream creations, I know a place in Vacaville called Fentons
It is convenient to have this Fenton's near a Tesla Charging station. This place is big and clean. A restaurant like this is perfect for charging an EV. When charging you have about 30 minutes, so getting a scoop of ice cream, or ordering from their food menu is the perfect option. The staff was really friendly and reminded me that I get free refills on my ice cream! Thank you but no thanks! I'll come back for more another day!

My family came in around 2:30, and there was a table open, however it was quite busy for the afternoon on a Sunday. The service was good though. My family didn't eat yet so we split the patty melt which tasted good, I would say thought the fries are about as average as it gets. It's nothing special, I would honestly not recommend, I will probrally try the curly fries next time. The Fenton's Special however tasted amazing, this is basically a combinations of all the class flavors (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Sherbet), and a bunch of their syrups). I'm typically not a sweet tooth type of guy, but this Sunday was delicious! I love how it wasn't too sweet as well. This Sunday can feed at least 3-4 people. I also don't like sherbet but this sherbet tasted amazing as well! Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this place for a dessert spot. I would need to try more of the food before I could recommend.

The last time I tried Fentons Creamery ice cream was probably over 15 years ago in Berkeley, so I was really excited to find out they had another location here in Vacaville. I decided to grab a "single" size, which was essentially two scoops, priced at around $8.15 as of November 2025. I chose two flavors -- Biscoff and green tea. Overall, both ice creams tasted fine, but I found the texture a bit too thick and borderline gummy. It made me wonder if they might be using too much stabilizer. Anyway, regardless I wasn't a fan of the texture at all. In terms of flavor, the Biscoff was quite nice -- as the Biscoff flavor really came through. The green tea, however, was disappointing. I couldn't pick up any green tea notes at all; it just tasted like a bland vanilla to me. On the positive side, the staff member who helped me was very friendly, and the store itself looked great inside -- clean, bright, and welcoming.

Last week we got their saddleback brownie sundae! Both so so delicious! Service is liberally always the best!! Huge venue with very comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. You can also get their ice cream at the counter in cones/bowls! We always sit down and order their huge specialty ice creams!! Enjoy!

What can be said about this Bay Area classic ice cream Parlor? Well to start with, it's good for more than just dessert! On a recent visit we ordered a couple sandwiches before enjoying our ice cream. The BLT was good, just what you'd expect. The monte cristo however was delicious! Finding a descent monte cristo these days is pretty difficult. Nice to know Fentons has one. And of course, the ice cream is excellent. What else would you expect, though? Ice cream is what Fentons has built its reputation on! Service was good and the place remains somewhat nostalgic in its decor, while being clean and well organized. read more

My family and I came here on a super hot day, it was probably the best place to cool off. Our server was great, very up beat and attentive to our table. I really not only the ice cream but the whole old school vibe and look of Fentons Creamery. I only checked out the front section ice cream parlor. They do have whole in dining area also in the restaurant. The moment walk in feel throwback employees outfit classic all white with paper hats and friendly soon see u welcome. The ice cream LOT to choose from selection. Thankfully u can get much samples as u want. I tried coupe settle on the coconut pineapple. I got it in cup but also offer sugar cone or waffle cone. I loved the ice cream. It nice and creamy, light, and perfect balance between two flavors. They also have full menu but stop for dessert. The menu saw old school diner burgers and other stuff. We were within the area and decided to try their ice cream. The line can be long, and when we entered--there was only one person scooping ice cream and doing the register. Another customer was getting upset because it took them 45 min to get their ice cream. We didn't wait that long, but there was a wait. We got their heath bar ice cream and butterfinger ice cream. The heath didn't have very much bits of candy in it, and the butterfinger was the total opposite. The person who scooped our ice cream really packed it, so we were happy with that. read more

Their serving is huge!! I ordered 2 scoops - 1 coffee and 1 pistacchio... when my ice cream came.... 1 scoop seemed like 3 regular scoops... so yes, there was a lot of ice cream... coffee was okay. The pistacchio flavor- I did not like, i was hoping for an ice cream flavor pistacchio... but what I tasted I got was a green milk flavor ice cream WITH pistacchio... the only time I could taste the pistacchio is when I am actually chewing the nut from the ice cream. I also find it sweet. I still prefer Loards. read more

This is an american restaurant with ice cream parlor located at Nut Tree Plaza, right next to the playgrounds and kids train. This place looks amazing however I wasn't pleased of the customer service during the visit. We plan to dine in but seems like a long wait on a Sunday late afternoon so I decided to get a to go ice cream. I ordered the butter pecan and the smores. I ordered two ice creams, I got the first one and then the staff suddenly walked away without saying a word or anything at all. I looked and he went to other counter had some chit chat and was laughing with another staff. I wasn't sure if I should wait or what, it took a while before a lady approached me and told her I assumed I was waiting for the other person for my order? She then went to him. Then he came back after the long wait. I do not have problem waiting, I just need to be informed. Upon payment it is asking for a tip for a to-go ice cream. read more

Today visited Fenton's Creamery with a few friends for lunch. This particular restaurant is located at the Nut Tree Plaza across from the playground and next to the Jelly Belly store. I ordered their Crab Louis Salad and also had an order of their Zucchini Sticks. The salad had a good amount of crab on top but wish there was a tad bit more salad underneath..Still very good! Zucchini sticks were fried, seasoned well and a great portion. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and although it wasn't very busy, tables were kept clean. Service with our server was excellent. She was attentive, on top of everything if anyone needed drinks and they were quick with our order. We split the bill in three with no issues either. Would have had ice cream but we were all quite full as everyone's food portions were great in size. Don't think we could've had anymore! Oh well maybe next time! read more

Hey, look, this is an ice cream place. I'm reading this place based on their ice cream. On this visit, however we did have some food which was very good. Overall, I probably give the food a 3 1/2 to 4 star more of a diner style fare. Fentons is a legend in the ice cream world, what are the ice cream places have been in a Disney Pixar movie? They make all of their ice cream in house for both Piedmont Ave in Oakland and Vacaville. The ice cream and their creations are awesome! The portions are so big it's more than enough to share! The hot fudge is rich and decadent! The whipped cream is made fresh, but the show stopper is their Ice Cream. It's no wonder it's not uncommon to find a line outside in the summer for their ice cream counter. The server and overall service were very good! The location in the Nut Tree shopping center is great, with so many restaurants, shops, kid rides, and of course the Jelly Belly Outlet store just feet away from Fenton's Entrance. It's very possible you might walk away with a carb coma from all the sugar. read more

I love going to Fenton's for a good time and good food! Their servers are always so pleasant, attentive and happy to serve their customers. Fenton's is a fun and hip restaurant that provides very delicious ice creams. I highly recommend looking at Yelp reviews for images of ice cream that looks enticing to you. It will not disappoint. My go to: Almond Toasted Ice cream with Hot fudge chocolate syrup. If you love coffee ice cream, you will enjoy the Mocha Almond Fudge YUMMMMMMY. We had a great time at Fenton's Creamery in Vacaville. We a hot dog, a corned beef and cheese sandwich, and a single-scoop sundae -- and everything was really good. The hot dog was classic, the corned beef sandwich was flavorful though very skimpy on the meat, and the ice cream was, as expected, absolutely delicious. The atmosphere feels fun and welcoming, the wait staff was really nice, and it's just a great place to enjoy some comfort food and dessert. read more
My family and I went to Nut Tree plaza and happened to see this place. I wasn't in the mood for ice cream but they were. So I went along with them, fully planing to get a different treat from somewhere else. They had some unique flavors so I decided to taste test Blueberry muffin and ube. When I tell you the flavors were next level! The blueberry muffin had a rich sweetness and was less fruity and more decadent. It also had pieces of muffin in it. The ube was also rich but buttery and had a rich depth of flavor. I tried a few other flavors, but those two stood out to me the most! The guy serving us was so funny, friendly and patient at we tried different flavors. When it was time to pay, my son said, "mom do you have dollars for me to put in the tip box?" The guy helping said, "you don't have to do that, tip culture is getting out of control." While yes, I do agree in these kinds of situations, I have no problem tipping when someone gives great service, and he definitely did! read more

Fenton's Creamery is in the Nut Tree Plaza. They have an ice cream counter where you can get scoops to go. The counter s located immediately to the far left side of the building from either of the two front entrances. And there is a sit down restaurant serving up diner type food and of course ice cream. For lactose intolerant folks, I gotta tell ya, they have no dairy free ice cream but do have several sorbet flavors. The ice cream flavors are pretty extensive. Fenton's ice creamery dates back to 1894 based in Oakland, CA. The restaurant menu is equally extensive as well. But the food is just ok. On my last visit, I had fish n chips. It did don't taste fresh made. It also wasn't awful. Lactose intolerant me only eat here if folks that I'm dining with also want to indulge in ice cream. Folks tell me the ice cream is fantastic. The place is super busy on the weekends. Anticipate wait times during peak hours for a table. Plus during the busy time, the food can take a long hot minute to be prepared and served as well. Also since this is a family friendly restaurant, anticipate it to be loud. Kids and babies hollering. Suppose they're all screaming for ice cream. read more

Fentons no longer offer the hamburger sliders! It seems that though they were popular, they keep running out of buns! So we ordered a burger and split it!! Their burgers are delicious! Add the curly fries and ask for grilled onions and you have a fabulous meal before you eat the Ice cream! We took friends there who had never been to Fentons and they loved the area and Fentons. They plan returning with friends to go on the merry-go-round and train and then go to Fentons. I ordered my regular: Black and Tan, which I have ordered the last three decades. The Toasted Almond Ice Cream is my favorite and adding the whipped cream, fudge and caramel takes it to another level!! My husband got the Fudgeanna which had bananas, vanilla ice cream, nuts and whipped cream. It was the right amount of ice cream for him! Our friends had strawberry ice cream and toasted almonds. She loved the rich flavors! Fentons is our favorite place to go and just enjoy their food before we go shopping at the Vacaville Outlets across the street. Fentons is worth the money!! read more

The pumpkin ice cream is out! Delicious. Very creamy and flavorful, others in the group loved the Oreo chocolate ice cream and the frosted animal cracker ice cream! I've always been a fan of Fenton's, and it brings back a lot of nostalgic memories from when my dad would take me as a kid after a day at the Jelly Belly factory next door. Fenton's is tucked away in the Nut Tree Shopping Plaza in Vacaville, which is conveniently close by I-80. It's in a family friendly area and easily accessible with lots of parking. While commuting home from Napa, I insisted on introducing my partner to this beloved creamery and we stopped by on a late Sunday afternoon. For a walk-in table for two, we were quoted a 45 minute wait. Fortunately, there's an option to walk up and order ice cream; however, Fenton's offers full service and a food menu if you're hungry for more than just the scoops. I ordered a single scoop of the seasonal Ube in a cone, and my partner ordered a double scoop of strawberry cheesecake in a cone. Fenton's carries several seasonal specials in the case and staple flavors as well. I was able to sample the Ube before committing to it, and I was a huge fan of the sweet subtle flavor and creamy ice cream texture. I was tore between 3 and 4 stars... The food looks better than it is but their ice cream is what gave the fourth star. Understandably, the service is really really fast paced and the environment as a whole has a "what can i get you?" type vibe without being pushy. With that said, the food items seemed very lackluster. The portions were nice but lacked basic seasonings. Not much salt or seasoning to bring much flavor to your plate. The ice cream Sundays... heavenly!!! The marshmallow sauce was so good that I ended up buying a Mason of it. Chocolate was great. I like my basic meal foods done properly with some personality and wow factor. If the meals were done different, this would have been a huge 5 stars for me. read more

My daughter has celiac. Are there gluten free options, and, if so, are they prepared in a way to keep it from cross contamination?
They do have GF options, that is what I personally order. However, I am not sure that they keep it from cross contamination. You may want to call the restaurant to be completely certain.
Can we order ice cream cones to-go from the ice cream parlor area during COVID restrictions?
We are doing patio and takeout only.
Any vegan options?
Very few a green grocher no cheese and a impossible burger lettuce wrap.
