So happy to have stumbled upon this bakery over the weekend due to other Yelpers! Conveniently located right off 80, lots of parking (though can be hectic since busy). Upon walking in, noticed a sign posted out front that they have been baking since the 80s!! Once inside, overwhelmed with the amount of baked goods they offer- from donuts, breads, and everything in-between, They also have sandwhiches posted on the wall. Unfortunately, they have limited GF baked goods options (only cookies on top of display counter) and quiches. Service was very quick but no line, unorganized and people were all over the place. Of course got both to try and very happy to announce they were scrumptious! Quiches were dense but fluffy, cheesy and flavorful. Tried a few things from here: Apple fritter - SO, SO GOOD! You can taste the cinnamon-spiced apple flavor, there are some apple chunks, and it's crispy and perfectly glazed. Had a work event today and needed to coordinate breakfast for a team. Someone recommended Solano Baking so we gave it a try. Ordering experience: For catering you need to email if for future, but they have a phone option if time sensitive. I ended up doing phone as I ordering on Thursday for Saturday morning. The order was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. They've got most of the catering items in their regular online order menu, but needed to go through catering for dozen bagels and dozen pastries. Ended call with payment over phone. Arrived at 6:15am today for 6:15am pickup and all was ready and they helped me load my truck. 3 box coffees, 3 dozen donuts, 3 dozen bagels, 1 dozen pastries, and half a dozen quiche. Good variety and came with coffee add ins and cups, napkins, and knives for cream cheese. Smooth pickup. Team loved all the items, which made Saturday a bit more enjoyable than a weekday in the office. Inside the bakery they got ambiance of a coffee shop and large counter bakery. They had an impressive list of items and I'm definitely going to come back to try items we didn't get today. Recommend for both catering and to just get a treat for yourself or others. read more

MUST TRY! --My partner and I ended up here on our way to Sacramento. We exited to get some Dutch bros, as we drove by this place I quickly pulled it up on yelp and decided to give it a try. Place was busy on a Saturday morning. Seating both indoor and outdoor. You walk in and order at the counter. Savory and sweet pastries are on display and a menu along the wall behind it which includes the prices for the baked goods and also offered different bagels and sandwiches to be made. My fiancé opted for the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and I got some sort of quiche. I don't quite remember what flavor quiche I got but that being said, it wasn't quite memorable. My partner and I usually share orders and when I bit into his breakfast sandwich, HOLY COW --I instantly regretted not getting one myself. I thought it was be a standard basic sandwich; which is likely was but the aioli they use is out of this word. I've been trying to give them passes over the last year or two but nah! No apples in the fritter, no cream in the Bavarian and.... cheeses melts out of the ham cheese croissants. We are almost regular passerby folks... love its local for them, traditional and historically rooted. But besides the awesome service as always from everyone its really just dough. I dunno maybe they are cutting back on stuffing the doughnuts or less apples in the fritters but it's really not good as it use to be on the doughnut side of things. I absolutely love Solano Baking Co. There aren't many great Bakeries around anymore. For the most part I don't think anyone is making anything for real anymore. Maybe that's the case with Solano, but maybe not. The mint cannolis are a totally weird things but super good. The Ham& Cheese croissant is filled with some thick thicc ham, and some good Swiss cheese. It's got that good grease. The cookies seem to be on a rotation but the Oreo stuff is always a consistent "yes". I've tried different stuff each time I've been here. Highly recommend. Driving from Sacramento to San Francisco and we decided to stop and grab some breakfast. My husband noticed a sign for a baking place and so I looked them up and Yelp and we decided to check them out for a quick bite. There was a long line when we walked in, but it moved quickly and was very well organized. We ordered a couple of donuts, a Breakfast Bagel, a Breakfast Bowl and an iced Caramel Macchiato. They offer Egg Bites, Spring Cookies, different pastries, bagels, donuts -- you name it! They had 2 or 3 huge glass cases displaying a bunch of yummy options! The donuts were very good, but both of our hearty breakfast items were just okay. I did enjoy my coffee though! The inside had a few tables and I believe there may have been a couple outside as well, but everyone was super friendly and you can tell this is definitely the breakfast spot for locals! My family and I have been coming here for quite a few years, found it by chance on our way back from Tahoe once, wanting to eat something healthier than fast food. From previous experiences, we've always been quite happy, from today's experience, we were quite disappointed. Pros: they have the capability to order online, so food is ready just as you're going through Dixon. It's also next to a Safeway gas station which is less expensive than other gas stations, so a great place to make a pit/gas stop. Cons: today's sandwich was really dry. I normally order their chicken salad, either as a green salad or a sandwich, depending on how much I want to eat. It's never been this dry before. The coffee today was also pretty gross. It tasted burnt, and while I'm not a big coffee drinker, as soon as I took a sip, I imagined that they reused the coffee grinds from a previous pot of coffee. If we had eaten or tried the sandwich and coffee while we were there, we would have asked for new ones. We were already in the car... They also used to give you a miniature cookie with your sandwich or food order, but there was no cookie today. That made me sad... especially since I almost bought a cookie, but talked myself into "being good," and just having the miniature one! Grrrr! Honestly, had today been our first visit, it would have been our first and last. Hopefully they're able to change things around to what we (my husband, son, and I) remembered from prior visits. Prior visits- I would have rated between a 4 and 5, today's visit, between a 1 and 2, thus the overall rating of a "3." No pictures, if we come back, I'll take some and post. read more

I like how you get individual and friendly service from the baked goods counter all the way to ordering made to order food to the cash register. The line moved efficiently. I loved my lemon blackberry muffin with a bit of crunchy top and a moist cake inside. My kid had a tough choice of donuts. We shared a deluxe croissant sandwich which was very large! I handled my half with aplomb but my kid found it a messier but delicious affair with the insides squeezing out the sides of the croissant. Pleasant seating but most seem to get it to go. I stopped by here recently for the first time and walked out with a box full of delicious treats! Everything was delicious! My only complaints were that they used a poor quality chocolate on their Millionaires shortbread and the royal icing on the Easter cookie was not adding any good flavor to the cookie. Royal icing has become popular for decorating cookies, but is the worst tasting option. I had the cherry muffin, which was delicious and a knotted chocolate pastry that I can't remember the name of. They also have a "pig in blanket" style pastry, but it has a beef sausage and it is a meal in itself. It reminded me of the sausage pastries they make in England for cream tea. It was very good! I highly recommend stopping by here, it has easy access from the freeway so it's a great place to stop between Sacramento and the Bay Area. read more

Yum! My friend found this place on our drive up to Velocity Park, and we had to stop by. Upon entering, it looks like a cute, cabin-y bakery with cases and cases full of baked goods. Definitely a treat for the eyes. The servers were very attentive and friendly and greeted us immediately. I ordered one maple bar donut and resisted the urge to get more donuts as they all looked really good and pretty fresh. I also got a breakfast bagel with egg, bacon, and jack cheese on an everything bagel. My order total came out to about $9 which was such a good deal coming from the Bay area. The maple bar was pretty good and not too sweet. I devoured it before I even got my bagel, and I had no regrets. The bagel sandwich was also very good with a large piece of egg, some bacon and melty cheese. The bagel itself was fresh and soft and somewhat different from other everything bagels I've had. There were not as many seeds and bits on the bagel and just a couple sesame, poppy seed, and sunflower seed. The bagel definitely needs a bit of seasoning or salt, but thankfully tapatio was there to save the day. Overall this is a great spot to pick up some baked goods or a light meal. Oh. My. Goodness. First of all -- thank you to the gentleman working at the Walmart in Dixon for recommending this place. Currently eating the Solano Panini and sipping on the iced Horchata Latte while I'm on a Zoom training. I was pleasantly surprised at how ginormous the panini was when I unwrapped it. But -- size doesn't always matter, right? How's the taste, you ask? Fantastic. That's all I need to say. And if you are an avocado lover, they are generous with the avocado in this. The panini was a little cold because I had things to do before I could get to it, but if it tastes great cold, I imagine it would be even better when freshly made. I found my new breakfast sandwich. As for the Horchata Latte -- insert heart eyes emoji! It's a perfect balance of cinnamon and coffee. I'm more appreciative of the fact that it's not overwhelmingly sweet nor strong.
