Tried a few things from here: Apple fritter - SO, SO GOOD! You can taste the cinnamon-spiced apple flavor, there are some apple chunks, and it's crispy and perfectly glazed. Most importantly, it's massive. I think this fritter was as big as my head (and I have a large head). Solano panini- Turkey, jack cheese, avocado, and aioli: a simple combo that always hits the spot. It's on their fluffy and flavorful focaccia bread, and comes with two small cookies for dessert. Had a work event today and needed to coordinate breakfast for a team. Someone recommended Solano Baking so we gave it a try. Ordering experience: For catering you need to email if for future, but they have a phone option if time sensitive. I ended up doing phone as I ordering on Thursday for Saturday morning. The order was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. They've got most of the catering items in their regular online order menu, but needed to go through catering for dozen bagels and dozen pastries. Ended call with payment over phone. Arrived at 6:15am today for 6:15am pickup and all was ready and they helped me load my truck. 3 box coffees, 3 dozen donuts, 3 dozen bagels, 1 dozen pastries, and half a dozen quiche. Good variety and came with coffee add ins and cups, napkins, and knives for cream cheese. Smooth pickup. Team loved all the items, which made Saturday a bit more enjoyable than a weekday in the office. Inside the bakery they got ambiance of a coffee shop and large counter bakery. They had an impressive list of items and I'm definitely going to come back to try items we didn't get today. Recommend for both catering and to just get a treat for yourself or others. read more

MUST TRY! --My partner and I ended up here on our way to Sacramento. We exited to get some Dutch bros, as we drove by this place I quickly pulled it up on yelp and decided to give it a try. Place was busy on a Saturday morning. Seating both indoor and outdoor. You walk in and order at the counter. Savory and sweet pastries are on display and a menu along the wall behind it which includes the prices for the baked goods and also offered different bagels and sandwiches to be made. My fiancé opted for the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and I got some sort of quiche. I don't quite remember what flavor quiche I got but that being said, it wasn't quite memorable. My partner and I usually share orders and when I bit into his breakfast sandwich, HOLY COW --I instantly regretted not getting one myself. I thought it was be a standard basic sandwich; which is likely was but the aioli they use is out of this word. I don't know what they put in it but it's delicious and oozes out the sandwich after each bite. I can't wait to come back here for more. read more

I absolutely love Solano Baking Co. There aren't many great Bakeries around anymore. For the most part I don't think anyone is making anything for real anymore. Maybe that's the case with Solano, but maybe not. The mint cannolis are a totally weird things but super good. The Ham& Cheese croissant is filled with some thick thicc ham, and some good Swiss cheese. It's got that good grease. The cookies seem to be on a rotation but the Oreo stuff is always a consistent "yes". I've tried different stuff each time I've been here. Highly recommend. My family and I have been coming here for quite a few years, found it by chance on our way back from Tahoe once, wanting to eat something healthier than fast food. From previous experiences, we've always been quite happy, from today's experience, we were quite disappointed. Pros: they have the capability to order online, so food is ready just as you're going through Dixon. It's also next to a Safeway gas station which is less expensive than other gas stations, so a great place to make a pit/gas stop. Cons: today's sandwich was really dry. I normally order their chicken salad, either as a green salad or a sandwich, depending on how much I want to eat. It's never been this dry before. The coffee today was also pretty gross. It tasted burnt, and while I'm not a big coffee drinker, as soon as I took a sip, I imagined that they reused the coffee grinds from a previous pot of coffee. If we had eaten or tried the sandwich and coffee while we were there, we would have asked for new ones. We were already in the car... They also used to give you a miniature cookie with your sandwich or food order, but there was no cookie today. That made me sad... especially since I almost bought a cookie, but talked myself into "being good," and just having the miniature one! Grrrr! Honestly, had today been our first visit, it would have been our first and last. Hopefully they're able to change things around to what we (my husband, son, and I) remembered from prior visits. Driving from Sacramento to San Francisco and we decided to stop and grab some breakfast. My husband noticed a sign for a baking place and so I looked them up and Yelp and we decided to check them out for a quick bite. There was a long line when we walked in, but it moved quickly and was very well organized. We ordered a couple of donuts, a Breakfast Bagel, a Breakfast Bowl and an iced Caramel Macchiato. They offer Egg Bites, Spring Cookies, different pastries, bagels, donuts -- you name it! They had 2 or 3 huge glass cases displaying a bunch of yummy options! The donuts were very good, but both of our hearty breakfast items were just okay. I did enjoy my coffee though! The inside had a few tables and I believe there may have been a couple outside as well, but everyone was super friendly and you can tell this is definitely the breakfast spot for locals! this bakery was recommended to me by a co-worker, so I had to stop in and give it a try. it's a cute place with a nice selection. while I'm told the sandwiches are quite good, I'll have to try them on another visit. this go around, I sampled their version of a "cronut" (they really should be careful about calling it that... cronut is a trademarked name). it's nothing like an actual cronut, but still tasty. it's just fried dough rolled in cinnamon sugar... hard to be mad at that! I'd eat it again, but $4.05 for it seems a bit much. I also tried a maple old fashioned donut ($2), which was also good. a bit heavy on the maple icing for my taste, but good. I grabbed a ham & cheese croissant ($6) too. it was my least favorite and i ended up throwing it out. the cheese overwhelms everything else and isn't a great flavor. service is friendly and pretty efficient. there was a steady short line of people. they have tables if you want to sit and enjoy your food there. parking is plentiful. prices weren't too bad, but felt a little high for what it is. We stopped here on a road trip and found it bustling early morning! I like how you get individual and friendly service from the baked goods counter all the way to ordering made to order food to the cash register. The line moved efficiently. I loved my lemon blackberry muffin with a bit of crunchy top and a moist cake inside. My kid had a tough choice of donuts. We shared a deluxe croissant sandwich which was very large! A lot of the times before noon. The lines are very long, but that is expected when you have good donuts and good service. As you wait in line, you go next order what you want and then pay at the register and wait for your drinks to be made. I stopped by here recently for the first time and walked out with a box full of delicious treats! Everything was delicious! My only complaints were that they used a poor quality chocolate on their Millionaires shortbread and the royal icing on the Easter cookie was not adding any good flavor to the cookie. Royal icing has become popular for decorating cookies, but is the worst tasting option. I had the cherry muffin, which was delicious and a knotted chocolate pastry that I can't remember the name of. They also have a "pig in blanket" style pastry, but it has a beef sausage and it is a meal in itself. It reminded me of the sausage pastries they make in England for cream tea. It was very good! I highly recommend stopping by here, it has easy access from the freeway so it's a great place to stop between Sacramento and the Bay Area. read more

My sandwich was amazing. Had an aïoli on it with the eggs were cooked perfectly. Everything was great. When I was most kind of concerned about was the treats that we received. As a fellow baker, I I'm not sure if we had the cookies that were from the previous day, but it felt as if they were a bit stale. Yum! My friend found this place on our drive up to Velocity Park, and we had to stop by. Upon entering, it looks like a cute, cabin-y bakery with cases and cases full of baked goods. Finally a warm, if a bit windy, morning. The perfect excuse to take the roadster out to Dixon for breakfast. We arrived a little before 9 a.m. on a Saturday. There were about four customers in line ahead of us and it didn't take long to place our order. All the employees were cheerful and the young woman who took our order was very helpful and enthusiastic about their baked goods. I ordered the classic breakfast bowl and my husband ordered the deluxe breakfast croissant. I had a lavender latte made with almond milk and my husband ordered a cappuccino. We also ordered a couple of pastries. We were given a wooden spoon with a number on it to bring to our table so that they could find us when our food and drinks were ready. A very cute touch in a very cute bakery. It did not take long for our meal to be brought to us and everything was delicious. The portion size of the bowl and sandwich were very generous, we each took half home for later. I liked the lavender flavor of the latte, but it was a tad too sweet for me. I was impressed by the variety of baked goods, both sweet and savory. Quiches, scones, canolli, bagels, cookies, doughnuts, breads, and so much more. So I've seen Lori and Nathan check in on this place for years. Yesterday i made a pit stop at McDonalds and saw the sign while leaving the parking lot. The Solano Baking Co. Was closed, so I figured I i could do by on my way home, time permitting. I'm so glad i did. BEST BLT ever!!!! I was a lottle bummbed that they used microwave bacon, but between the amount of bacon, greens, and firm but juicy tomatoes, EVERY BITE WAS AMAZING!!! So Freaking Good - My New Favorite Bakery! This place is dangerously good.
