Second time coming here for lunch and the nice lady who works the register is always friendly and welcoming. As far as the food, I have to say the fish and chips far exceeded what I expected. The beer batter coated all over the fresh cod was fantastic and fried perfect. Went well with the house-made tartar sauce. The shrimp had the same beer batter and paired with Chipotle mayo. The fries were nicely seasoned and good to dip in the sauces. Their beef hot dog is basic but very tasty with the slight sear. And I decided to try their funfetti cake milkshake which was their current flavor of the month. That tasted just like a birthday cake and was so delicious. There's plenty of seating outside where you can enjoy your food and hang out. Look forward to trying more items on their menu in the near future. read more

I stopped by here for a quick bite to eat before a hair appointment. I grabbed a Shirley burger for $8. The burger itself was okay. Quite salty and the burger was dry (not the patty, no sauce was on the burger). The patty was cooked well though. Nice and crispy. All in all, okay burger, tasted fresh but just okay. I should have predicted from the people waiting outside, but it took much longer than I thought it would to get my burger. I waited nearly 25 minutes (maybe 6 people ahead of me), which isn't a bad time but I kind of thought it would be faster service. That being said, the service was nice and the person who took my order was friendly. No real comments on ambiance. The rest of the menu fills out nicely with various soft serve shakes, floats, freezes, and cones; plenty of burgers and similar fare such as cheesesteaks; and there are also tacos as you'd expect at a California-style diner. With very friendly service where you take a number at one window and receive your order at the other window, the ambiance is casual and outdoor, though several tables are under an overhang which seems like it would provide shelter in moderate rainfall. Garlic fries: WAY too much garlic. I am talking about an overwhelming amount of garlic. I appreciated the fresh fries and garlic but YIKES, it just had too much garlic. Next time I will ask for "light" garlic LOL. Burgers: Good tasting burgers for the most part, a few pieces of wilted lettuce that was blah but otherwise, good burgers on brioche buns. Stopping here with a friend who told me their shakes were really good. He ordered a peanut butter cup shake with added bananas! I tried the Orangesickle shake. It was really good! The menu is pretty basic with burgers and hotdogs but I like small places like this so I came back the next day to try the food. I had the bbq western burger and it was good. My son had chicken strips with fries, which I tried, and they were good. There's no indoor seating and limited outdoor seats but I imagine most of their orders are take out. We have eaten at Frostys a few times and we really enjoyed the food. They cook everything fresh, the hamburgers are very good and ample sized. The soft serve and milkshakes are the bomb, try the Peanut Butter shake you won't regret it! During our most recent visit we tried the pretzel bites and a beef taco, insanely good taco, simple but really tasty filling and the crispy shell was cooked just right. The pretzel bites were delicious & piping hot with homemade honey mustard. Lots of outdoor seating and the staff are super friendly. Can't wait for warmer weather and we will pop in for an ice cream treat more often! read more

We wanted to avoid the crowds of last minute Christmas shopping, so decided to head outside of town, into Dixon. Afterwards, we looked up places for lunch and found this little gem. We both ordered burgers for us and chicken strips for our daughter. We ate it at home, food was still warm and fries crispy. The sauce that came along with the chicken strips meal was delicious. Twice have eaten at Frosty. The first time I had the A Street burger, it was good but I neglected to have any type of sauce added but like I said it was a good burger. Next visit I had Fish and Chips. The fish was good but it came with 3 small pieces of fish. Both times I had a Oreo shake which was delicious. I will definitely order one again though it would be nice to have a couple of different sizes because I would have went the next size up. My big problem is the fries. Both times the fries were cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. The seasoning appeared to a course pepper and salt. But the flavor to me was different. At first it tasted very good but at the end of taste was something different. I don't know if it was old oil or what. It did a trip on my stomach. I don't know if it was the oil since I didn't get the flavor from the fish. So get the shakes but be wary of the fries. read more

Went to this "classic burger style joint " this weekend and I have to say my experience was a sad one, I was expecting some delicious classic burgers. My experience was distant from that.. Ordered 4 burgers and one jumbo hot dog and a shake waited for 20 minutes for my order. No napkins no ketchup offered, two young high schoolers manning the place, they were very polite but lack cooking training or experience. All the burgers were burnt ,salty and fries were over cooked and also salty! My family and I made the most of this $30 burnt meal only thing that was good was the shake. To my surprise the owner parked next to the tables hauling food supply and though maybe if I mention them about my experience they might just make some adjustments but will never going back to this place. While the food was decent I was really upset at the fact that they did not disclose the cross contamination of their tacos which have sesame onto their brioche bun. I have a sesame allergy and they did not say that their brioche bun would have sesame seems on it because of that cross contamination. I wish I had taken a picture but I was too busy taking my EPI pen but the loads of sesame seeds that were smooshed into the bun didn't happen easily. When brought to their attention nicely as a heads up they said "well our tacos have sesame seeds" as if that was an excuse to have cross contaminated a food that shouldn't have been near the sesame seeds and then not disclose that on the menu. Sesame is a top allergen that LEGALLY needs to be disclosed and it was not and apart from not taking accountability for what could have been a fatal allergic reaction they shrugged it off and cut off my friend as if I couldn't have died from their negligence read more

We have tried this place multiple times hoping that each time would be better than the last. That hasn't happened. The fries are way too dead ones, the burgers had too much grease (my bun was saturated) and our daughter's milkshake smelled funky and she spit it out. My husband tried it (thinking our daughter was being a drama Queen) and he threw it up. The milk was rotten. Dixon is a small town. There isn't a lot of competition. Husband has been going to Frosty's for years! Today he went ordered 2 burgers, 3 fries, and a shake. Got home to find only fries in bag. Drove back to Frosty's to get burgers, as we have all experienced coming home without item. Went to window to be confronted with argumentative employee swearing he put the burgers in bag and people lie all the time to get free food. My husband responded I have no reason to do that. Went to Frosty's a few different times (at least 7 different times) almost every time they are out of almost everything that I attempt to order. Today I went down and I wanted 2 red specials and a large fry and 2 drinks. The person behind the counter said they are out of everything to make the red specials and mayo. This is the 4 time out of the 7 that this has happened with the red special. I hate to say this because the red special is delicious. But maybe Frosty's should take it off the menu if they can't keep things in stock.
