Went to Frosty's a few different times (at least 7 different times) almost every time they are out of almost everything that I attempt to order. Today I went down and I wanted 2 red specials and a large fry and 2 drinks. The person behind the counter said they are out of everything to make the red specials and mayo. This is the 4 time out of the 7 that this has happened with the red special. I hate to say this because the red special is delicious. But maybe Frosty's should take it off the menu if they can't keep things in stock. It is disappointing wanting to support local businesses but can't because every time you order they are out of it. read more

Went here last night passing through town. Grew up on Frostys back when Red and his wife ran the place for decades. The food and service was good and special. I worked there long ago too. Bummed that the corn dog was cold and the shake was warm. There were no other customers and I waited a good 10-15 minutes so not sure why. I left a good tip too, but that didn't help. Oh well. So I have to say I've been a part of this town for quite some time and I have never had such a horrible experience with any of the local establishments. This afternoon it took well over 45 minutes to get my order. This would have been understandable had there been numerous customers. There were two others before me both of which had already placed orders by the time I placed mine. I realize young kids must work but everyone needs guidance. There were two young men blasting music and not focusing on what they were doing. When I left I called to speak to a manager and was advised there are no managers around on weekends. With service like this I believe it is necessary to reassess your scheduling. read more

The old fashion cheeseburger is the MVP here, I always order it with bacon on top. Fries are delicious and crispy and their "sauce" is awesome on everything. Great little fun place to come with the family, their malts and dipped cones are also amazing if you have a sweet tooth. read more

A Dixon landmark! Great service and old school American food! I recommend the deluxe cheese burger, never disappoints. It's a true drive in style cheese burger with awesome pickles (I usually don't like pickles but love these) all the other fixings and the perfect amount of sauce. Frostys is an absolutely delicious drive-in establishment the customer service is superb and the deluxe is by far my favorite. The only reason why I'm giving a 2/5 is because it seems like they're working in extreme conditions. I was leaning up against the window and I could feel the blazing heat coming from inside the building. I asked how hot it is and they said it's always 10F over the temperature it is outside. I find this to be unacceptable and an unsafe work environment. read more

Had a rugby tournament this past weekend and stopped by Frosty's for a bite and treat. I had the $5.00 hamburger meal which was great and came with plenty of french fries. I also tried the watermelon slushie and it was the best slushie I have ever had. Highly recommend you stop by this place if you are passing through the city of Dixon. read more

I was beyond excited when I found out this place was open again! Food: Chicken strips and fries. The chicken was hand breaded and the moisture content was spot on to my liking... not dry, but not questionably juicy either. Tasted fresh. Fries were salted just right and they were just the right kind of crunchy. Still served with the signature "secret sauce". Location: Still the original architecture, but with a mild face lift and new outdoor dining furniture. Eating areas and order counter are a lot cleaner now than they were before. The location in general is kept up well. Service: Friendly, intelligent staff. Not much more to say... it's a good old American "order at the window" place. read more

If you think this is a good place to eat then you've never been anywhere else. I have no idea where five stars are coming from unless they dropped out of the sky but this is a horrible place to eat and don't waste your money. We ordered burgers and everyone of them was like shoe leather. They were literally burnt. My son ordered two tacos and the tacos were dark, dark brown. The young girl working there had the nerve to tell us that this is the way they were supposed to be. I said they're supposed to be burnt? And she said yes. The shards of taco shell were like glass going down your throat I'm surprised it didn't cut the roof of my sons mouth. I told him not to eat it it looked dangerous. And I'm seriously not kidding. How do you get a warm milkshake? Is that even possible? Considering the fact are supposed to be ice cream in there you would think it was cold. Not so. If I could give it zero stars- I would. Love their food and it's cheap. They have an amazing special sauce. Today I went and ordered some burgers and there was some miscommunication. They gave me just a patty on buns. When I went back the guy was really cool about it and they slapped some fixings on it (lettuce, tomatoes, and stuff). Great place for a quick meal. read more

I ordered the I believe it's the 1/3 pound cheeseburger, along with french fries and hotdogs for the kids. For drinks I ordered the fresh banana shake and slushy's. The cheeseburger tasted good but not the kind oh good that's going to make me go back for it. The fries were good, what's the fresh banana shake did not taste like banana at all and it tasted really icy not creamy. I'm assuming they did not use enough banana given it was a large shake nor did they use enough vanilla ice cream I suppose and used a lot of ice. The hotdogs look like they had been on a rolling machine all morning. They looked like shriveled up at the ends of the dog, I probably shouldn't have given it to my kids. Thank the Lord no one got food poisoning. I will not be returning to this establishment. It bums me out I was hoping that it was going to be really good. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger and strawberry shake. I was delightfully taken aback when asked by the cashier, "Would you like your shake with fresh strawberries?" Expectations immediately soared. Food was available in a few minutes and I drove away. And then it happened. I opened the bag, saw the size of the wrapped burger and a flood of disappointment began to well up. Then, the dam of disappointment burst when I discovered the content of this $3.95 burger: bun, cheese, meat, sauce. Absent was the onion, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mustard... all in a far away land, drowning in the flood of disappointment. It would have been a wholly different review IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED if I wanted any of the REGULAR "fixins". Instead, I drowned my disappointment in a AWESOME shake. So just grabbed some food and 2 kids came up with gift cards they said they got them for Christmas this last year-they were only 10 bucks each and they tried to order the girl at the counter said she has to check on them she tried to call the boss and after 20 minutes the kids were told she couldn't do anything! I asked them if I could pay for what they wanted they said no! They road on there bikes to get lunch and seemed so let down! I understand that ur and employee but this would have been a situation that Iwould have taken the gift cards gave them the 20 meal and took it up with my boss later. Went and bought their burger. When I got home and unwrapped my burger, it didn't look too impressive and looked a lot different then they used to be. Have to mention that I ordered the regular burger which is just mean cheese and sauce. The old burgers, no matter which one you ordered, tasted great. The new ones aren't that great, they aren't anywhere near the old burgers they used to make. Got their chicken strips and they were wet inside, had to put them in the microwave to finish cooking them. If you know the old frostys, you will be disappointed with the new frostys. read more

Did not enjoy my experience here. I tried to sit down and eat at the tables provided and instantly got bombarded by a fleet of fly's. Maybe if they actually kept up on emptying their trash cans or move them further from where you sit and eat then maybe it will make a difference. No one wants to sit down and eat while looking at a full trash can with no lid overflowing with garbage only feet away from them. I thought I ordered a 1/3lb burger but the patty resembled something from McDonald's. Not juicy what so ever and the shredded lettuce? Really? Cmon, use some real lettuce. Lastly, they could improve on how a person can get their condiments. I needed ketchup for my fries and was handed ketchup packets. ??? Last time I remember using ketchup packets was when I'd get my hot lunch in elementary school. Getting creative with what I was given, I spread out a few napkins that wouldn't hold their place because of the wind until the ketchup was squeezed onto them. This place could be greatly improved. Tables were dirty and sticky. Drinks over priced $2.50 for a 16 oz soda with no refills. Food was sub par better off going elsewhere.

I'm not a hater for those who want to assume! I just know good service and bad service when I see it. First, the food is okay. They do have great ice cream! Soft serve! But when it comes to service! TERRIBLE! I had the owner come take my order and in the middle of it decide he couldn't take my order, that he wanted to chat with the kids in there about nothing! REALLY? SO RUDE! He told me he couldn't help me for no reason! Waited for at least 4 minutes till someone else helped me while he yapped about nothing to the employees. Second time there, I watched one of the female employee's have an argument with one of the customer's who had burnt food served to them tell them it's supposed to be burnt! OH NO! She was extremely rude to the customer. Customer Service is always number one. Even if you don't cook it right, you can always be professional about it!
