What a hidden gem in Vacaville! Burger City has great burgers, sandwiches, and milkshakes. If you're looking for a down-home feel for lunch or dinner, this little spot has great food and reasonable prices. I had their chipotle burger and it was a great mix of salty, spicy, and juicy. My regular fries were good and crispy, which is how I like them. My brother ordered a full order of fish and chips (four pieces) with beer-battered fries and they came out golden. He also got a small side salad with tomatoes, red onions, and croutons. We were very happy with our meal. The service is also great. The staff is friendly, including the cook staff who talked to us through the pass window. They were attentive with drinks, sauces for dipping, extra napkins, and handling our bill. The two TVs in the dining area had a football game and a poker tournament playing, which was a new form of entertainment for our dinner time. The space is adjacent to a bar, which was not boisterous. We probably could have gone into the bar and ordered dinner there too. This was a nice place to have a midweek meal. I will always go back. What a great small business find! read more

Large portions help the wild west egg sticker shock verses Indiana, a bit. We seemed to have lost our server for nearly fifteen minutes at first, wondered if we would be able to order. Perhaps the Sunday morning rush slowed down the routine. I've been coming here for years as they have the best burgers in Vacaville. Today we came for breakfast. It wasn't overly busy, so we were able to be seated right away. I went with the NY steak with hash browns and cheddar cheese scrambled eggs. The eggs were fluffy and the steak was nice. The hash browns may have been a little overcooked, but they were still good. She got the Shrimp & Crab Omelette with cottage cheese. She was amazed at the generous portion of shrimp/crab inside the omelette and enjoyed it. Breakfast is only served here on weekends, but it is a nice low-key option with so many choices to choose from in town. The staff are some of the best people you will interact with, and a few I've seen there for several years. They always make you feel right at home. Sadly something is causing them to go downhill. We order usually every other week or so but the last two times we're awful. I ordered a turkey burger and got some kind of turkey patty with tons of mayo and fried pickles which I didn't order. It tasted gross. Then I order a deli turkey sandwich, simple.... nope, they put the wrong cheese on it and it had so much turkey and mayo on it that it fell apart. I think we'll give this place a rest. My family and I came into Burger City for dinner on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was decently busy between dine-in, take-out and food deliveries. There were open seats, so we were seated right away. Service (3/5 stars) Our waiter was pretty busy and seemed preoccupied. He took the order at the table next to us first even though we were seat first. He did take our order right afterwards which was not a big deal. We wanted to order the Valentine's Day Specials (advertised as "All Month Long"), but was not available until Valentine's Day, so that was disappointing. It was about average time to get our food. We did place a take-out burger to bring to our other son who was home, but when the check came we noticed the waiter had forgot to place the order, so we had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes to get it. We also had to ask him for a take-out box for leftovers twice and neither time did he bring it. My wife had to go up to the counter to get a box. Food - Crab and Avocado Sandwich with Potato Salad (4/5 stars): decent amount of crab for the size of the sandwich and seasoning was a little bland for me, but was ok. The potato salad was really tasty. - Fish and Chips with Coleslaw & Broccoli Cheddar Soup (3.5/5): my son said the fish could have had more seasoning and was bland. The fries were not that good. The coleslaw was very good though. The broccoli cheddar soup was good, but better at Panera. - Swiss Mushroom Burger with Potato Salad (4/5): my wife said the burger was just ok and nothing special. The potato salad was good. - Famous Cheeseburger with Coleslaw (4/5): we got this takeout for my son and he said it was really good and preferred it over In-n-Out. He really liked the coleslaw. Overall, I would rate this visit at 3.8/5 stars. I have had better service in the past and other food items I have had in the past were better. Service was good. They were pretty busy so we ended up sitting in the back but she offered to move us over when a table opened, which was nice to offer. It is a little noisy (milk shake maker) and have cigarette smells. Looks like they have a monthly special for breakfast and lunch. I was hoping the corn beef burrito would be a little better but it definitely needed the salsa for flavor and the beef was in large chunks. The California avocado burger had better flavor and the potato salad was pretty tasty. Appreciated the kids menu which gives a decent amount and has as well. My husband and I popped into Burger City for a late lunch. We got there at the perfect time since it wasn't busy. We were seated right away and started looking at the menu. I've never been here, but my husband said he has, a long time ago. We both decided to stick with the Famous cheeseburgers, me with fries and him with onion rings. The food came out quickly, and we dug in. The fries were the perfect crisp which we enjoyed. The burger was indeed as large as advertised. My only suggestions would be to perhaps toast the bun and consider using a different type of lettuce. I found it a bit challenging to access the burger due to the generous amount of shredded lettuce. We would certainly consider returning here in the future. The waitress provided excellent service, they were clean, and the prices were reasonable. Finding good vegan food in the Fairfield/Vacaville area can be a challenge, so we were excited when this spot was recommended to us. The place has a charming diner-style vibe with cute decor, and the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations--at least from a vegan perspective. I tried the vegan burger, and it was just okay. As you can see in the photo, it looked a bit sad--the onions seemed old, and overall it lacked freshness. For $16, I also expected a more generous portion of fries, especially since I'm a self-proclaimed fries junkie. While I appreciated the effort to have a vegan option, the execution just wasn't there. My niece requested to go here for a lunch date since she knows the owners son. When you walk in there's a board with the menu on it and seating off to the left. To the right there are open doors that lead to a bar area which is nice that you can stop in for a few drinks while also being able to get good food at the same time. 3 of us came and we ordered the chai espresso martini and the blueberry lemon drop, burger and fries, and a strawberry shake. I had a hard time picking between the pastrami sandwich and a burger. Our waitress, bless her heart, said why don't you top your burger with pastrami and I can switch the bread to the sandwich bread. Umm excuse me? DONEEE! Everything was hot and fresh and I absolutely loved the creation I made. This place is always on point. From the excellent service from staff that has been there many years and is always friendly and knowledgeable. A testament to any employer to keeps it's employees!!! Then let's talk about the food. We decided to try the new pickle chips. They were nice and hot with a nice strong pickle taste which i like. The two ranch sauces regular and zesty was perfect. My friend and I splt a double cheese burger with added avocado and bacon. Wow. It was huge and absolutely delicious. Good old regular fries were a perfect complement. The one day I decide to eat at this place became the worst dinner experience I've had in a long time. Everyone that works there looks miserable and couldn't care less even if you have kids. I asked for two high chairs and the girl looked at me as if I was asking for too much. The chairs were brought to my table and the high chairs were just left there stacked without any consideration of help, so I had to set it up with my hands full with kids. The clam chowder I ordered did not look appetizing at all and it was a blob of white goo that was just slapped onto the plate. The mushroom burger I had tasted like it had flavors of alcohol that didn't burn off during the cooking process. I get that alcohol can be used to enhance flavors, but it tasted like it wasn't cooked long enough. Not sure if it even had alcohol in the recipe but sure tasted like it. I wasn't able to finish my food because half way into my meal my stomach did not agree with whatever I was eating. It felt like the white goo turned into a monster that was trying to escape through my stomach! I kid you not, my stomach started turning for the worst to the point where I had to stop by a local store to use their restroom which is where I am writing this review from. The excruciating stomach pain I had was so unbearable to the point where I wasn't able to walk for a while. I'm sure that whatever I ate gave me food poisoning. I have massive stomach pain, dizziness, and a huge headache probably from all the salt they put in the white goo. Overall, price is decent but I can't say that I will be returning back here. If you filter through the yelp reviews and only look for one star reviews, there are several other patrons that experienced food poisoning from this establishment. Went here for dinner. We had the California Avocado burger and the Buffalo wings. As for drinks we had an Ice tea. There is a full bar so you can get just about anything to drink there. They also have shakes that I can wait to try. California Avocado burger is one of my favorites it's a must try. The burger was perfectly cooked with yummy avocado. The wings are delicious too. Very crispy with but you have to ask for the sauce on the side. Service was good but nothing special. There is no outside seat but there is a bar on the outside of the restaurant. I usually only eat burgers that I make myself. I love burgers and won't eat fast food hamburgers. Been searching for something good. After the posts I've seen about BC online I decided that I had to try. I ordered the Frisco Burger with Cole slaw and side of fried green beans. Beans arrived first. Crispy, hot and delicious and lived up to the reputation. The burger was about 10 mins later. Lots of lettuce and tomato with third pound burger and ham. The combination was yummy and taste was great. I will add that I also find it hard to locate good Cole slaw so I'm happy to report that it was also above average. Only downside was cost ($30) since green beans were a $10 app and that the burger was served warm, not hot. I think the fresh cool lettuce and tomato contributed to that. Of the omelet options two stood out: 1) the crab and shrimp (jack cheese & hollandaise) 2) the Godzilla (basically everything) Was leaning toward the crab & shrimp but after my son ordered 8 eggs and sausage I pivoted to the Godzilla and was not disappointed!!! Basted it with butter and drizzled it with Cholula. My boy inhaled his and I settled for a box lol.
