I've been on the hunt for new local spots to try that offer plant-based options. I've never heard of Fred's burgers until a Yelp search. Anyways, I ordered the veggie burger and some onion rings to go, the employee taking my order was friendly and my food came out quickly as there was no one else in the restaurant when I arrived. I'd say the food wasn't anything special, not the best burger I've had but it's decent and so were the onion rings. I did like the "Fred sauce" though. This spot truly makes some of the best burgers I have ever had. The patties are what separate this place from others. They were cooked to perfection, and beautifully char grilled, and they are huge lol, a single patty will do for most. The buns were delicious and high quality and held up perfectly through the whole meal. And they use just the right amount of cheese where you can taste it in every bite, but doesn't over power everything else. And the veggies were fresh and complimented everything else so well. It was simply a perfect burger. THIS IS A REAL BURGER, not an in-n-out burger, they are huge, I can eat a lot and this totally filled me up, and for $10-12, it cannot be beat! Fred's has quickly become my favorite burger in town. The western bacon cheeseburger is always amazing. If I'm eating in, the onion rings are a must for my side! My husband likes the guacamole swiss burger and I've heard good things about the mushroom swiss burger also. I just can't bring myself to move away from the western bacon cheeseburger. It's fantastic. The BBQ sauce is good. The bacon and onion ring are great additions too. Everything's better hot, but even their takeout is pretty good. Came by during lunch hour with coworkers since we were craving a burger. The wild fries were advertised to be a fan favorite, so we all ordered it with our respective burgers. The burger was decent, but not something I would drive out of my way for. It lacked flavor and felt like it could do better with some kind of sauce. The fries had too much cheese and the onions didn't really add anything else to the dish. I would rather just get animal fries at in-n-out. Service was also okay - the cashier didn't really greet us with a smile and no one else was inside eating. The soda fountain was available for refills, and they said goodbye and thank you to us when we left. Really wanted to try the milkshakes but they said they weren't available. Bummer! Also, recommend ordering in person rather than online, as they use DoorDash and inflate the prices a bit using the platform. To be honest, the burgers are good but that's all this place has going for it. Everything else is extremely mid or unseasoned... even the milkshake had almost no flavor. Also, the tenders have some sort of really weird breading on it. If you want just a burger and nothing else, I'd recommend this place. Fred's Burger is fine. The double cheeseburger and fries were presented well. The food was hot. The fries were great. The cheeseburger left me wanting something more, but I honestly can't put my finger on what that something is. The more I ate the cheeseburger the less I liked it. It's a combination of a couple different things. The texture was strange - I wouldn't go as far as rubbery as some of the other reviews mentioned. There was also a slight sweet after taste. If that's a style choice for this place then I guess it's just not for me. Generally people seem to really like this place it so, by all means keep eating here. It's definitely not a 1 star as some of the other reviews suggest because they're doing an overall good job. It's also not a 4/5 star because I assume the target is a step or two above fast food and if that's the case then they are falling a bit short. read more

Bland food, ok service, is the only way I can describe Fred's. The cashier was sweeping when I walked in, greeted me then took my order. When the order was ready, she put the broom down and handed me the food. Wasn't the most sanitary exchange, and my antennas went up. At the same time, I was desperately hungry. The first bite, I knew something was wrong. They are microwaving the burger patty. They are definitely not frying it. You don't even smell any food cooking. The burger was rubbery with no taste. It was empty when inside when I arrived. Which I didn't mind at all. The man that took my order was very polite! I ordered the cheeseburger combo, with wild fries and a cookies and cream milkshake. I opted to dine in. I watched TV (they had 1 of the flat screens on C-SPAN) while I wait for my food, which was delivered to my table. The cookies and cream milkshake was ready first. I was so exited to see the cute lil cherry on top! They didn't at all skimp on the cookies in this shake! It was nice and cold, creamy and smooth. The cheeseburger was well seasoned and juicy. The cheese and caramelized onions on top of those fresh fries was simply divine. The bathroom was pretty clean! Kudos to the team for that! I was pleasantly surprise to find a deliciously satisfying sandwich that well seasoned and so were the fries. The server and manager were very kind. I ordered another combo to go, but they forgot to give me the cup for the drink. I didn't realize it until I left. This Yelp page says they are open until 9 pm but when I went in to order about 15 minutes before closing they said they already closed down their grill and didn't take my order. If the page says they are open until a certain time, they need to honor that and serve until the closing time on the page. Otherwise, they need to update the closing time on this page. I absolutely adore and love Fred's Burgers! I've been coming here regularly for about a year now, and will continue supporting this local business for many more! It's hard to find a place with not only a good hot dog, but fries as well that aren't from McDonalds, and this place fits all of it! Their Freds sauce is absolutely amazing and compliments all of their dishes! The prices are on the cheaper side as well, which makes it so much better! There aren't that many tables inside, but i'm more of a grab and go girl so it works for me but also, there's never anyone in there sitting so if you want to sit, it's always available! We went on Opening Day. They offered Buy One Get One burger. We got a cheeseburger and chicken sandwich combos. The chicken could have been a little bit more crispier but both sandwiches were better than they looked. It was their first day so I wasn't having high expectations but I would definitely go again. Stopped by after the gym and ordered the classic hamburger meal to go. $7.99 for the burger and an additional $5 for fries and a drink. I usually like my burger medium rare, but this is not one of those burger joints. Food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Staff were very friendly. Fred's is a pretty sure bet for a delicious burger. Settled in a strip mall near Travis it's a great spot for lunch or dinner. The menu is simple and has burgers, a few hot dogs and chicken burger or nuggets if that's your jam. We all ordered burger combos and sat to wait. Perfection soon arrived. The burgers were all done up in paper and looked as good as a picture. The bun was soft and chewy and the meaty burger and cheese were perfect. Fresh onion and lettuce and tomato topped it. They have a special sauce that tops the bun and also comes with the fries. The fries could be better, they seem to be frozen ones. To me if you want to up the game, make your own. I believe this used to be an iM burger. Still has the same feel with friendlier staff. Good burgers! Not total mom and pops style burgers with all the grease and bad choice glory; but still a good burger. Good flavor and house sauce. Had a cheeseburger combo and it was good amount of cheese. A little salty for my taste but not too salty. The fries were amazing though. It came with a side of house sauce for dipping.
