Was able to try this food truck when it stopped at our work campus. Great options of wing flavors to choose from and they also had sandwiches. I opted for an order of wings - garlic parm and Cajun flavored and I definitely enjoyed how fresh it was. Finally decided to try this place after driving by it all summer. No one was in line at 5PM on a wednesday, so once I put my order in I was told it was going to only be a 10 minute wait. I ordered the 8-piece wings and chose "Hot" and "Sweet Chili" as my sauces, with cajun fries as my side. It says its $4.00 extra to add a side to the wings, but I was only charged about $11 so I wasn't sure if it was a mistake. Staff was also pretty friendly when taking my order and handing me my food. Drinks aren't part of the combo anymore so I just went inside the convenience store next door to get a drink. Once I got my food, I was excited - it seemed heavy and hot. When I opened the containers, I saw the fries were filled to the brim and the wings were covered in sauce, both pluses in my opinion. However, the fries weren't as crispy as I was expecting, and at times the cajun seasoning was overwhelming. The wings on the other hand were very big, and included two wings and two legs for each sauce. The wings were fully cooked through, but I felt like they could have cooked longer due to how stretchy the skin still felt. Flavor-wise the "Hot" was definitely hot, and my lips were tingling after. However, the sauce did feel a bit watered down. The sweet chili was good, but it wasn't amazing. The portions were big enough for two people though. I really wanted to give this place a higher rating, but I didn't really vibe with the flavors and textures. I might come back and try their po boy sandwiches. read more

We had the po boy sandwiches - the sausage and the chicken. Both were very good! The first time we visited, they ran out of bread (we came later on a busy Friday night) but we got them anyway. We used our own bread at home, and it was still very delicious. We also had the Fisherman's basket - very good! It had just enough salt and flavor. Shrimp ceviche is good too! We've both worked in the restaurant industry (back and front of house) for decades and we live in Napa, so we are definitely spoiled gastronomically. We don't discriminate based on locale or decor--If the food is flavorful, we're happy and will patronize again. We randomly happened upon Wings on Wheels a few months ago, when we were running errands in Fairfield, got a bit hungry, and jumped on Yelp for some options. The first time, we ordered and ate in the car. When I tell you that the wings were perfectly cooked, perfectly sauced (hot and jerk are our faves), the seasoned fries were crispy, the shrimp po boy and sauce-- holy mama! It was so good my hubby (a trained chef), left the car after the meal, to shake the chef's hand and give him another 20% tip (on top of the original 20%). IT WAS THAT GOOD. We've driven from Napa multiple times since, sometimes even braving traffic on Highway 12 during rush hour, just to satisfy the craving that only WOW will fix. We've since moved from Napa. Today was our first day back in the area and our first food stop was: Wings on Wheels. The sweet gentleman who was manning the kitchen today let us know that he had something special: Shrimp and Grits. HECK YES. When a chef knows his flavors, (as had been proven all of our previous visits), we can trust when he offers something new. Now, a note about shrimp and grits. We've had them before at many restaurants. Every chef will do their take on it. We almost always enjoy it, but once you've been to Hannibal's Kitchen in Charleston, SC-- you understand what it's supposed to taste like (at least in our humble opinion). Honestly a hidden gem!!! Ordered the catfish po boy with cajun fries and banana pudding. LOVED the catfish po boy, it was so crispy and not dry (portion was huge). The banana pudding was also really good and one of my favs. The fries were crispy and the texture was great but a little too salty for me at least (not rlly a problem since I can always ask for less salt next time). Decided to try this place during lunch. The truck opens up at 12:30- 8pm and on the day we went they were a little late.. so as we showed up they were still opening up. He was very apologetic said he needed to gas up. Took about 30 minutes for us to get our food which was about 5 orders. I ordered the grilled chicken Po Boy with Mac &cheese and a banana pudding. The downfall online it says the meal comes with a beverage but for some reason they do not have drinks anymore (but they are located right next to a gas station) and price was still the same. The Po Boy was yummy but very messy and they only give 1 napkin.. so when you eat it make sure your around area that has a sink to wash you hands or plenty of napkins. I wasn't a fan of the creole remoulade only because I'm not a fan of horseradish and I felt that the tomato's were cut on the larger side. The larger tomato's for sure made the sandwich thicker so a little hard to bite and pushed everything out which made the sandwich messy. Chicken was great flavor though. The Mac & cheese just taste like cheese and noodles and i like all my food with seasoning. The banana pudding was super yummy. I'm from Sacramento but my in laws live in Fairfield. Hands down the best that Fairfield has to offer. Its rare to have everything on the menu to be amazing. Usually places will only have a few good items/dishes. Tonight was our first night trying and definitely won't be our last. We had the shrimp po boy, chicken po boy, chicken/sausage gumbo, potato salad, parmasean fries and banana pudding! Straight FIRE! We'll be back for the wings, seafood gumbo and mac&cheese (sold out def a good sign). I ate it so fast I didn't get to take any photos but had to write a review instantly. They're super quick too! There is not much real cuisine in the jungle of fast food places in Cordelia Junction, so I was curious about new Luisiana style addition of Wings on Wheels food truck. Finally walked out to try some on Monday. First of all, great friendly folks running the show, it's black family business, worth supporting. And to top it off the food is really good. I had the fried oyster po'boy, it was great. Oysters fresh and crispy, bread nicely holding shape all the way and simple, classic garnishes. Sampled the grilled fish po'boy, same base and fish was fresh and grilled right, flaky and juicy. Mental note for me, ask for bit more of cajun seasoning, but that's my personal taste. I'm sure the friendly brothers will accomodate. Mac&cheese on point with real cheese, coleslaw well balanced and nicely crispy. I tried the wings, hot and garlic flavors. I was the first customer of the day, showed up even before opening time and was accomodated. I think it might have been the cause of the wings needing few more seconds in the fryer. They were done, but I would like them just a bit more crispy. Definitely recommending and will try many times over. Hopefully they stay open, times are tough, please go and support. Note - the menu saying you'll get drink as part of sandwich combo is the catering menu. for the truck parked next to the Sinclair gas station, they had to make a deal of no drink, so you just go in the station and buy your own from bigger selection, that the WoW could carry.
