It was about time I got to try this place after hearing so many great reviews and it did not disappoint! Even though they don't offer all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, the food is delicious and full of flavor. This spot is definitely a hidden gem right before Travis Air Force Base. The restaurant is small and cozy and the servers were very attentive and welcoming. Every dish we ordered was on point, but the standout for me was the spicy Korean fried chicken ,crispy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of heat. The crab was fresh and savory, and their selection of banchan was generous and tasty. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's worth the stop!

Worth the extra few minutes from the mall! Everything was so yummy and the staff were sweet. Can't wait to come again! Cold noodles were delicious!

Finally able to enjoy this cute little homey spot. This is tucked away in the back of a strip mall off of Air base parkway. I would've never known about if my daughter didn't come here often. Food came out quick but of course the banchan was plentiful and delicious. My families favorite was the soy glazed potatoes and their kimchi. We shared a couple of soups, wings and the kimchijeon. The soups were delicious especially on the cold night we went just enough spice with lots of meat and seafood. Our wings and kimchijeon were crispy and delicious.

A foodie friend, whose recommendations are always spot-on, suggested I try this place. I came by around 1 pm on a Sunday, and despite hearing that it gets super busy, it was surprisingly empty, so we got seated right away. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! They checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. As for the food... the rave reviews are spot on! It's truly authentic Korean cuisine. They started us off with banchan (see photo), plus a cup of rice for each person. Here's what we ordered: Seafood pancake with green onion Korean-style deep-fried chicken with gochujang sauce on the side Galbi with tofu soup combo Shrimp fried rice Spicy marinated crab There was so much food that we had leftovers, and it was perfect for dinner later that day. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back!

Went to this place a month ago for lunc. Place is always crowded since it is located outside an Air Force base. Food is delicious and servings are generous. The banchans have free refills so that was a pleasant surprise. We had bulgolgi both spicy and not spicy. They were both flavorful and tasty. Staff is great specially the guy that was refilling our banchans. Parking is shared by other businesses but there is plenty of parking.

Family dinner out on a Saturday...my brother suggested this little Korean place of the beaten path. Although we sat down to an empty restaurant.....I'm glad we got in before the crowd hit. We had a nice women who served us and brought our food to the table pretty quickly. One section is for cooking up your food bbq style and the other front section is for cooked food served to you. We were hungry.. bypassed the cooking our food idea. The front counter was away from the dinning area, so it doesnt feel like people are staring down your throat as you decide what to order and finally eat. On the table for side condiments and dishes were things like kimchi, bean sprouts, Japchae, cucumbers in chilli sauce slightly pickled, potatoes, broccholi, etc... Combo meals were korean bbq short ribs with white rice and spicy seafod/beef/tofu soup. Another combo was Bul go gi jun over white rice and spicy tofu soup. A side order of fried potstickers and a plate ao chicken fried rice. Everthing was quite good, but it's a bit of " sticker shock" when the bill comes cause it didnt seem like a lot of food for the price. Cio for now.....

Hole in the wall near the base. Really legit Korean food! Seafood pancake is almost better than Hot Stone. The sauce really compliments it. Would come Back again 100%.

Ughhhh, im so sad. I really wanted to like this place and I've heard pretty good reviews from others. However, what really bothered me was the fact that there were so many mosquitos inside this restaurant. I killed three before I even ordered the food and after that I gave up with trying to kill them. I really contemplated on walking out, but I had already ordered the food. I even thought about changing locations but I saw other customers swatting the air so it wasn't the location of my seat. On top of that experience, their service was not the best. I waited more than 15 minutes before they took my order which was a bit frustrating. Its not like the restaurant was busy at the time, but I've been reading that this is a common problem they have. However, majority of the food I ordered was good. I really enjoyed the Marinated Raw Crab. It was my first time trying this and I felt like the marinade was good. I chose Medium Spice but it wasn't spicy, I could've definitely gone higher. The sauce can be overpowering so its best to eat it with rice or something else to balance it out. The Bbq Galbi was good. It was cooked very well. The Spicy Pork Bulgogi was okay. I felt like it was too sweet, and it was missing something. I actually ended up taking the rest home and cooking it with kimchi, thai chilies and a little bit of soy sauce which made it taste so much better. Overall, majority of the food was good, but I don't think that I would be giving this spot another try. I really disliked the number of mosquitos in the restaurant and the fact that mosquitos loveee me is just too problematic for me.

5/5. This place is amazing!!! The food is so fresh and delicious. I enjoy it. This is my second time and it keeps getting better and better. It is getting colder lately so it is perfect to enjoy some soup. I got kimchi jjigae!!! My favorite Korean soup. I love making it at home and I wanted to try an authentic Korean Kimchi jjigae. It was authentic in my opinion but with a twist. It is still really good though. My friend got Tofu Dumpling soup and she loves it. She said it is not salty like other Korean spots. The service is amazing. However, at night it is kind of crowded. So be aware of that. But don't fear they will get you seated as soon as possible. The inside is amazing!!! It feels super homey. So this is a must-go stop when you come by. I am coming back here again.

Tucked in a not so busy area of Fairfield, CA. Right across from Travis AFB. It's in, what looks like, an empty plaza with a Pizza Hut and some other shops. The parking lot is a good size but this restaurant isn't as big you might expect. The waiting area is small so if you find yourself waiting, it might be in your car. My family and I dined in on a Monday night and wow it was busy! 90% of the tables had parties. Our wait for 4 people was between 5-10 mins. So glad our wait was short. We were seated sorta of in the corner on the side and around a huge party. I'm sure our table was easily missed because I noticed a party of 4 that sat closer to the entrance and got their utensils and waters. Eventually, someone noticed us, gave us waters then a few minutes after that, we placed our order. I was nervous that we were going to be told that they ran out of certain things; which they did say they were low on banchan! Sad face. We still got some side dishes but just enough for each one of us to have a little taste. We ordered: - Seafood Pancake: This is a must get if you're a fan of seafood!!! It was cripsy, hearty and the sauce added a sweet yet lightness to the Seafood Pancake. I appreciated how not-so oily it tasted. - Bul Go Gi + Tofu Soup Combo: We opted for the Seafood Tofu Soup (mild) and wow... I could not stop eating the soup! It was so comforting and flavorful. The bulgogi was different, but in a good way. It was smokey and tender. It wasn't as sweet as I expected but I was okay with that. I liked that BBQ-ness to it. - Gal Bi + Tofu Soup Combo: My parents wanted the Seafood Tofu Soup (no spice), if you don't like spice then yea get it but i'm telling you... adding "mild" adds sooo much to this soup. Anyways. The Gal Bi, IMO, was a bit tough. Flavorful but tough. *note: their meat + soup combo is pretty good for 1-2 persons. It also comes with rice. Overall, Koreana Korean BBQ gives me that home cooked meal comfort. I can see this being a comfort meal restaurant for those who grew up in the Korean culture, eating delicious Korean food. I'll be back for more soup and try out more items on the menu!

Cornbread and sauces missed the mark for me, but the meat more than made up for it. Definitely going back! The full story: Finally! A BBQ joint that knows how to season meat! Stateline Road Smokehouse in Napa is the spot. We rolled in on Mother's Day and got hit with a line almost out the door -- always a good sign! Turned out the wait wasn't bad though, because they've got a slick assembly line going. I watched the girl slicing my brisket right next to the order-taker, then just followed my tray as it moved down the line. The space is gorgeous -- big, bright, and airy, with clear garage doors and windows across the front and a domed ceiling overhead. We ordered the brisket, burnt ends, BBQ chicken, mac n cheese, and hot water cornbread. Plates come with their house-made pickles, onions, and peppers. They even have stuff for non-carnivores -- the Cherry Wood-smoked Maitake & Greens (maitake mushrooms, lettuce, heirloom rice, marinated garbanzo beans, lemon vinaigrette) and the 18th & Vine Grain Bowl (barley, quinoa, sweet potato, arugula, parsnip, saffron egg, pickled onion, burnt orange vinaigrette) both looked fantastic. Maybe I'll grab one next time -- right next to a pile of brisket! On the drink side they've got wines by the glass, boozy slushies, draft beer, and batch cocktails. We stuck with water this round. Prices were a notch above what I'm used to in Sacramento, but for Napa they felt totally fair -- especially since this is probably the best BBQ around. The brisket was a steal at $19 for a half pound. The chicken at the same price for a half bird felt a bit steep, but I could be off on what's normal up there. The brisket was seasoned beautifully from the very first bite -- smoked to perfection, fall-apart tender. No knife needed. The burnt ends were my favorite of the whole spread. They had a splash of sauce on them but it wasn't needed -- those rubs hold their own. The BBQ chicken had a totally different vibe -- hard to describe, but it gave off Asian-influenced flavors. Solid on its own, but pairing it with the brisket and burnt ends was a misfire. The flavors just didn't play nice together. The mac n cheese was great. It wasn't baked, but it also wasn't mushy or overcooked like most places -- the noodles still had bite and the cheese was flavorful. Sadly, the cornbread was the weak link. A little dry, kinda bland, and not as thick as I like. About the size of a thin 6" pancake -- not really worth the price. The other miss for me was the BBQ sauces. Just not my thing flavor-wise. To be fair though, the owner built his whole business on those sauces and apparently ships them out by the pallet, so plenty of people clearly love them! It was awesome seeing Darryl Bell, the owner, back in the kitchen working his magic -- and get this, he's reportedly the first Black restaurateur in Napa since the 1800s! That made the warm welcome hit even harder. Even with the rush going on, he popped out to snap a picture with us and thank us for coming in. His business partner Jeremy was also working the floor, checking in on every table, and he stuck around to talk us up about Darryl's BBQ skills and how their partnership came together. Then during a lull, Darryl came back out and gave us the whole tour -- the cultural and historical design choices throughout the space (the building used to be a Quonset hut, which explains that cool domed ceiling) plus the murals on the back patio. Dinner AND a show! Wishing these guys all the best. Can't wait to get back and work through more of the menu.

The beef was tender and the veggies and rice cakes were tasty in the savory sweet sauce. We ordered a side of corn with cheese torched on top. It was pretty filling for 2 people. We had leftovers so the waitress took it to the back and had it sealed in a box for us to take. Their bbq chicken was surprisingly good! My SIL really liked it! The chicken wasn't dry and it was nicely seasoned and had a bit of char from their sizzling stone plate and tasted great with their rice and banchan side dishes. I like their kimchi, broccoli, macaroni and bean sprout sides. You can get them replenished, too! My mom tried their bulgogi bibimbap and she didn't have any complaints. My bro tried their brisket seolleongtang soup and he seemed to enjoy it because he finished the whole bowl without sharing. My lil' (under 2yo) nephew approved of anything that landed on his plate. Maru is located in a shopping plaza and tucked in the corner near Raley's. The restaurant is small, but modern. It's definitely not a place you would expect in Fairfield. Both times that I've come here we didn't have an issue with waiting for a table despite it being a small shop. You can order from a waiter, or you can order from their tablet screen at the table. Slices are a little thin imo but I don't mind layering two pieces together to make a pretty solid wrap with the radish wraps and sauce they give you. The braised pork belly is pretty flavorful and well cooked itself and the complimentary sides, like kimchi and radish kimchi, added to it-- Wow. Definitely try this dish. Combo Soft Tofu Soup -- not a big fan of the spam added, but otherwise great flavor and comforting on a rainy day. I like dipping the rice (also complimentary with your meal!) into the soup-- not much to say other than it being pretty good. Soy Garlic Chicken -- Do keep in mind, these are more like nuggets than it is drumsticks or wings, but still really juicy and so crispy!! The soy garlic flavoring, wow, is perfect and I really enjoy the diced radish and dressed salad on the side. Quite a lot in portion, so quality and quantity are great! It was relatively empty when we arrived which was around a couple minutes after opening, but quickly filled up with patrons. It's pretty casual and cozy inside and I like how quick the check is given to you after the end of your meal so you don't have to worry about flagging down a server. They're really attentive ! I would have preferred a touch more salt, but they were great when you snagged a bit of bacon in the bite! Okra was good, a bit over cooked, but I would order again tomorrow. Cole slaw was great! It had bits of apple that added a touch of sweetness in a well balanced, creamy sauce. Mac and cheese was perfect! Tried my kid's hushpuppies and they were amazing dipped in the bbq garnish on the plate! Brisket was hands down the best brisket I've ever had, falling apart and absolutely mouth watering. The ribs were tender while still having bite to them. Again, well balanced and sauce was lite enough that it complimented the meat. Shrimp and catfish breading was the perfect blend of crispy and crumbly, while being perfectly spiced! We can't wait to go back and visit again, felt like we made friends and definitely found a new BBQ mainstay! Only thing I can't speak to personally are the hot links, but my kid said they were great, guess I'll find out on the next trip!
