Waited a long time for this place to open and finally it did. Located downtowm Fairfield across the county building with plenty of street parking.They have a to go kiosk in the front,but we decided to dine in. We ordered a couple of things to try and surprisingly the food didn't take too long. Keep in mind any dumpling you order will take at least 10 mins to come. I love the vegetable pancake and pork steam bao for appetizers. Beef dumpling was amazing. We tried chocolate bao for dessert it was okay probably not my favorite. Everything else however we did enjoy.They do give you big serving too. We'd come back and try other things from the menu. read more

Dumpling House aka Dumpling Bistro. The brick and mortar name is ...House but when placing an online order the website opens as ...Bistro. I placed an order online for pickup. I ordered Hawaii chicken/shrimp fried rice and bbq pork Bao (buns). The rice had a nice smoky flavor which I imagine comes from the use of a well-seasoned and broken-in wok which I love. Reminds me of an old-school restaurant we used to order from. Yum. However the rice also came with small pieces of raw cabbage (although I'm not sure why). Maybe the current problems with green onions affected the decision to use cabbage. The worse thing though was the large, thick chunks of what I believe was pineapple. I've never had pineapple that wasn't sweet so I'm not sure. If it had been sweet it would have been a wonderful accompaniment to the smoky rice flavor. Ingredients for their dishes aren't listed on the menu which is disappointing especially if people have allergies. The buns had a wonderful flavor but the bbq filling was scarce. The gentleman working the register was on the phone when I arrived. However a lady bagging orders nearby acknowledged me and said that guy would be right with me. He spent a few minutes on the phone and when he hung up he asked what I ordered. No greeting or thank you for waiting. After I answered him I asked how he was doing today? 3 times lol before he responded. He complained about it being busy. Wait. What? Inside dining is available and the restaurant seems clean. Dumpling House has finally opened! The dinning area is nice and clean. Open floor and minimal décor. We visited around four pm before the crowd started coming in for dinner and we were seated promptly. We saw people prepping the dumplings in the back so I knew that they were fresh. We ordered dumplings and pot stickers of Chicken & shrimp since my family is picky, along with the har gow, chocolate bao, and walnut shrimp. I liked all the dumplings, the textures and the flavors. Nothing was too overpowering and the walnut shrimp tasted so delicious. The dumpling sauce was typical but the hot chili oil didn't have much flavor. I did dress it up a little once we got home and demolished the left overs. Perhaps they have more options when inquired? This is a great addition to downtown Fairfield! read more

Dumpling House has finally arrived in downtown Fairfield! They took over the old Starbucks that I used to frequent back in high school. I've been waiting for this restauraunt to open up for quite some time. I was quite hungry, so my boyfriend and I ordered the pork xiao long bao, hargow, pork and chive potstickers, night market fried chicken, and I got a hot soy milk to wash it all down with. ***Pork Xiao Long Bao: When it was presented to us at the table, I was...disappointed. It appeared to be the store-bought XLB and even tasted like it. The telltale sign was that the pleats looked machine-made and not in the handmade pleats. It looked too uniform. The skin is thick. The taste was even the same as the ones I buy at the store. It's good, but definitely not worth the money when I can buy a bag for like less than $10 and throw these in a steamer at home... charging $14 for these is crazy work. ***Hargow: I also have a sneaking suspicion that these may also be store bought. It tastes similar to the ones I buy and make at home. They're still good and have a nice bounce when you bite into it. ***Pork and Chive Dumplings: These were really tasty! The filling to wrapping ration was perfect. They were browned for a nice crunch. I think these were pretty worth. ***Night Market Fried Chicken: Pretty tasty and seasoned well with a 5-spice powder, white pepper and chili powder. Tastes like the street food popcorn chicken! ***Soybean Milk: I had a choice of having this served hot or cold. I opted for hot and it was soothing and warm to drink! Paired well with the dumplings, and had a light sweetness to it. It tasted pretty fresh. Staff was very friendly! Food came out pretty fast too. Overall, Dumpling House is very tasty but I'm quite disappointed some of their items appear to be store-bought and not handmade. I ordered 2 items that are completely different, was lunch time 1130a, no one else in the restaurant. Looked clean, waiter was nice, but the food was NOT nice. So much so see the pictures of both items in the trash. Dan dan noodles were dry in a tasteless bitter peanut butter sauce, didn't notice the super small portion of ground pork. Google a picture of dan dan noodles and look at my picture for comparison. The chili won tong, had small filling and the taste was bland. There was no chili oil, they just sat in some sort of oil, and definitely did not seem hand made. There was no rush again, I was the only one there on a Thursday at 1130a. With how much things cost and spending $30 I expect good quality and could have went somewhere nice or even got a ribeye to grill myself. All the 5 star reviews and from some "elite" yelpers... Fake, read the 3 star reviews seen. I bet most of the 5 star reviewers eat Taco Bell. As being a ghost helper who handed out elite status to SF helpers you Solano 'elite' need taste buds adjusted. Most places are 3 1/2 maybe 4 star and you chose 5! I'm sure some of the items could possibly be ok, but I'll never try anything again to find out. If you want dumpling style food like this that is good, go to SF, Oakland, Berkeley, or even Sacramento on a night out, or lunch trip on the weekend and enjoy food that is actually handmade and tasty! I waited with baited breath for this place to open. It was supposed to open in November of last year. It finally opened and I wasn't impressed. The dumplings were delicious don't get me wrong, but over priced and I didn't see any plates on the menu. Everything had to be ordered separately. If it's just dumplings or just broccoli you want it's okay. However if your looking for a place that's reasonable for a full meal probably not this place. I am so sad. read more

It was our first time here. It was nice and clean inside. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had ordered the vegetable egg rolls, fried green onion bread, pork and vegetable potstickers, wonton soup, orange chicken, and steam rice. Everything was so good and filling. I especially loved their homemade dipping sauce. It was a mix of soy sauce and some other ingredients. The orange chicken was crispy and nicely coated with the sauce. The staff are friendly, happy to introduce menu items patiently and respond promptly to any requests. Their handmade dumplings are incredible, featuring thin wrappers packed with juicy fillings and authentic traditional Chinese flavors. This place offers great value for money. Tried it for the first time. I had the Might Market Chicken. I didn't care for it personally. I wish there was a more savory option. The five spice overpowered me. They offered to take it off my bill since i did t eat it, which was not expected but very appreciated. I also ordered the Kimchi Pork Potstickers. 9/10. They were delicious. Packed with flavor. Been waiting forever for this place to open up and it did not disappoint. We had several dumplings and the pork and chive was the overall favorite so definitely get that. I also loved the kimchi potstickers. We got the chili wonton, but I feel like it needed a little more flavor and a little more spice. We just ate here for the first time and I'm already planning my next visit! The food was so good, hot and fresh! There were only two of us but we ordered 3 dishes, the fried chicken appetizer, pork kimchi potstickers and the shrimp soup dumplings! The servings were large and I was thinking we'd have leftovers, but it was so good and, clearly, we were hungry, so we ate it all. The service we received from Gagan was amazing and I wish I'd gotten the young man's name, who helped us and was great too! We tried Dumpling House for the first time today and I'm so glad we did. The dumplings are delicious! We tried pork, shrimp and pork with vegetables. All were very tasty. We also had the dan dan noodles with peanut sauce and that was really good, coming from a peanut sauce lover. I dropped by for the first time just after opening and I found the staff very qualified, pleasant, and willing to take the time to explain the menu to me. As I wanted a snack, I ordered the Shrimp/Chicken Pot Stickers; they were incredible, freshly made, and came with sauce automatically. The restaurant decor is minimalistic, much like a Tea Room, in a great calming and non-pretentious manner. I recommend this fine example of Hospitality to all! read more
