First time here, the service was attentive and friendly but I think our server was overwhelmed with tables because she was messing up our orders :( Food was overall 3/5, but our order of pineapple fried rice and pad see-ew were our only 5/5 dishes. Our green curry, tomyum soup, and Thai iced tea were super watered down. The green curry tasted better but did not have a curry consistency at all -- it was very diluted. I tried Thai Orchid for the first time a couple of months ago. I thought the food was decent, just a little bit on the sweet side for me.

Visited, not knowing the ownership has changed, but for the most part it looks and feels the same inside. I ordered my "usual items", pad thai, yellow curry and fried tofu, to get a feel for the taste. The server made a suggestion for the crispy shrimp toast. It was flavorful, but a bit on the greasy side for me. The acidity of the dipping sauce cut the greasiness only a little bit. Everything else we ordered was good and the portion sizes were big enough for me to have leftovers to take home. Their location is a bit hidden in a plaza behind McDonalds and FedEx Kinkos. I feel that you have to know what you're looking for when you go there, cuz you won't notice it from the street. read more

Kumruenthai is located in kind of a strange area that's out of the way. It's a bit near the Crunch gym on Oliver. I came on a Sunday evening around 6-7PM and it was very empty. My boyfriend and I were the only customers there. We ordered the chicken satay, tom yum soup with prawn, and the seafood claypot. Our server advised us how to eat the chicken satay (eat it with the pickles on the side) and it was a great combo. The tom yum soup was good, but the bowl was a bit small from what I'm used to at other Thai restaurants. The soup was flavorful from the aromatics and the shrimp wasn't overcooked. We enjoyed the claypot rice, the seafood tasted fresh and it went well with steamed rice. There was a homeless person who came into the restaurant asking for a bite to eat and the servers/workers whipped up something for him free of charge. Very kind of them. read more

I ordered catering from Thai Orchid for my party. I called and texted with Patty. She was very helpful in giving me sample pictures of the party trays and also very communicative in ensuring the order details were laid out as we discussed. She also was very nice in accommodating my early start time and we were able to get the food ready before guests came. We ordered a small tray of crab fried rice (which they gave us a cucumber salad for) and a small tray of pumpkin curry beef. Most of the food was finished by my guests as they were delicious. I would definitely order catering from them again and I'm glad that there's a nearby Thai restaurant that has great food! read more

Ownership has changed. It still looks mostly the same inside, but Nat must've taken some of their recipes with her when she left because the food is not as good as it once was. We used to eat here at least once a month (during the pandemic, once a week). Our go to items were panang beef, larb, spicy eggplant, Jitra's spicy noodles, and Jitra's crispy bread. Having been here twice since the new owners took over, that frequency will decrease. Getting something "spicy" here was like heat for the sake of heat without concern for flavor. I get that Thai spicy being melt your face off spicy is a thing, but previously that wasn't the standard "spicy" here. Even at other places, the hierarchy I'm accustomed to is mild, medium, spicy, Thai spicy/extra spicy. Thai spicy being the same as normal spicy, I guess, is the norm here now. Second time we ordered medium, and that was fine, even if something between medium and their spicy would be ideal for us. First trip we tried all our usuals...larb, panang beef, spicy eggplant, spicy noodles, and crispy bread. The larb was (temperature) warm, which was odd since it's a salad and it was too spicy. The panang beef was way too spicy. The spicy eggplant was mostly the same, but still not as good. Spicy noodles, good but still not as good. Crispy bread was undercooked...not crispy enough. Second time we got yellow curry, tried the panang beef again, thinking maybe the heat ruined it the first time, and pad Thai. The yellow curry was good. The panang beef not being as good wasn't just the heat; it's a totally different recipe, and now no longer stands out as a favorite. The pad Thai was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. After the second visit I'd say that Kumruenthai has decent food. If you want Thai food and are in the area, it's still a good option, and I'm sure I will be back since it is close to home. It's just not my favorite Thai restaurant in Solano County anymore. It used to be good enough where I'd recommend going out of your way to eat here. Now it's no different than your average local Thai restaurant. read more

Was looking to take my family out to some Thai food but the place we usually go to was closed (Rodsap). I googled this place up and none of us had ever been here so we decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Lady catering to the guests to front was really nice and was quick to clear the table of any dishes as we finished them. We ordered spicy catfish, spicy eggplant, drunken noodles, Tom yum, and Thai iced coffees. This was the first place I'd been to where the Thai iced coffee wasn't too bitter or too sweet. We ordered the shrimp fried rolls, pad Thai with beef and yellow chicken curry. I enjoyed them for the most part, but the yellow curry was a little different for me and wasn't exactly my favorite (it's cooked in a slightly different style from what I'm used to). I can say that the food is prepared beautifully, makes great pictures for Instagram. The fresh rolls were just that, fresh and very good. I prefer more traditional peanut sauce with the fresh rolls but it was good nonetheless. The papaya salad was also fresh and good, not the depth of flavor that I'm used to as far as the dressing goes but good. I would stay clear of the curry. My husband had the green curry I had the peanut curry. It seems that they don't have the broth of the curry down to a science yet. It was very thick almost like canned soup and left an odd taste in our mouth the rest day afternoon. Frankly, that ruined the experience a bit for us. Not sure if we will spend the money to eat here again, if we do I will not order curry, which is a shame..... Crispy, savory, refreshing. PAD THAI (with chicken): It came out looking a little pale but that does not mean it is lacking in flavor! Sad day today...my favorite Thai place has gone downhill. I have been coming here since they first opened. The green curry with chicken is always what I order. Today it was watered down, salty and the chicken tasted horrible. I called the owner Natladda to express my concern about the quality. I got back arguments and denial. My wife and daughter also have noticed that the flavors and the quality of food ingredients have gone downhill recently. Tonight when I walked in Nan commented that it was hot in her restaurant, I said why don't you turn on your ac...she said not yet. We would come to this Thai restaurant specifically for two dishes on the menu: Pad Broccoli & Thai Style Noodle Soup. Today, we added the Spicy Chicken Wings. We have been coming here for a few years since we discovered the Noodle Soup, which is similar to the soup we had in Thailand. You can have the Noodles mild or spicy. For me, spicy is the way to go. I ordered pad thai chicken, and a roti with curry and a minced pork dish with basil. For the price, you did not get a lot. The pad thai was soupy and the roti which is an appetizer for $10 only gave me one piece of roti. The minced pork dish was alright, but for the price I could have gone to another Thai restaurant across town. The wait took also about 30 minutes for a to go order with only one table being serviced. Just got home from eating here and the food and service is amazing. I wish I got the man's name who served us. The server went above and beyond and also made sure our orders were correct. Also my daughter was fussy/crying and he gave her an ice cream and juice which helped her calm down. We ordered many dishes not only did they come looking pretty designed. The flavor/taste was good. They got my order wrong and gave me chicken Pad Thai and they said they "misheard" me. 2. They asked me to bring BACK the "Pad Thai" in exchange for the correct item the chicken SATAY. 3. I asked if they needed my card to process the difference in items, and she said, "it's only .95 difference. I'll credit you next time you come back"--lies. I checked online and it's a dollar difference 3. I get home and begin pouring my yellow curry out. Found not one but TWO hairs--both super long. I was hoping to find a Thai spot out here, since I just moved--but I have not been so disgusted and annoyed. Beyond upset. What a waste of $52 (yes, I know--OVER PRICED) Go here if you want.
