The chicken meat had a funky flavor almost as if it had been reheated. The sauce however was good. And super good with the rice! After tasting the chow mein (which I actually liked), I had really high hopes. I'm not the biggest fan of chow mein because not a lot of places can make it good but I was like, ok, I'm intrigued. But then all the other entrees were served and they all had too much sauce. It's like eating soup when it should be a stir fry. And all I could taste was the strong flavor of sauce. Always trying to find good Chinese food so today my friend and I dropped by here. There was a weird smell throughout the restaurant and our food wasnt good at all. We got the lemon chicken, bbq pork fried rice and the house chow mein. The chicken other than a ton of lemon juice squeezed over it had no other seasoning and was pretty bland. The chow mein had more veggies than noodles and maybe one shrimp while the rice had no color a ton of egg and nothing else. I would say save your money and go elsewhere. read more

My GF said they have really good lunch specials which they do. I would say from $11.95 to $9.95 depending on what you want. The sea food is where the. $11.95 come into play. So I ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken with fried rice it also comes with a bowl of soup, which was nice. The soup in my opinion needed a little more flavor. It was kind of bland. Sweet-and-sour chicken was very dry it tasted like they cooked it to long and the fried rice had no flavor. We also had potstickers that was one of my favorites. My GF had I believe it was a walnut chicken. I tried a little bit and that was good. Definitely don't get the sweet-and-sour chicken. Service on the other hand was OK when we were ready to pay our bill we couldn't find anybody to help us other than that I may go back try the appetizers and get the potstickers again since that was my first time there I would probably give it one more try. read more

Off the bat me and my bf ordered lemonades which were so good ! We tried crab and cream cheese wontons , green bean shrimp and a beef teriyaki. This location is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Vacaville. The chow main is my favorite, outside of San Francisco. The Service on the weekends is better than during the week. Jim is the only server during the week. I love the decor in the restaurant because it reminds me of a classic Chinese restaurant of the 90's and early 2000's. The entrance of this restaurant is odd. The location has two entrances doors. If you are with a larger group it can be difficult to get everyone inside the first door into the sally port and then into the restaurant through the second door. read more

Ordered a lunch special and it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I NEVER review restaurants but I took 3 bites and pushed my plate back. I got sesame chicken and it was so dry it seemed like they rushed in the back and forgot to put the sauce on it and it was very bland. The vegetable chow mein was so bland it genuinely tasted like cooked spaghetti with vegetables and no flavoring. I only had a few items so I can't completely judge this place... but honestly how can you mess up chicken chow fun? The chicken chow fun was very soggy. I ordered extra chicken and garlic to be added. Not only was there no garlic flavor, there were about 5 minuscule bites of chicken which obviously could never equate to "extra chicken".... I've tried multiple Chinese food restaurants in the Vacaville area and they have all have left me either feeling sick or dissatisfied due to the lack of flavor, excess oil, and overcooked/old ingredients. The China House restaurant food is very good as far as the taste goes from the soup which was delicious but I have to ask "where was the chicken". I have been there before and didn't have this issue with my other dish. We ordered green beans chicken and it was mostly green beans. Our friends seemed to enjoy their family dinner choices. Unfortunately we were the only ones disappointed. Would give them another chance because the food is good. The service is very good. The people working at the restaurant are very friendly and the service is fast. This restaurant is not big but it can accommodate groups and it's decor is the typical Chinese decor. Nice little local Chinese restaurant. The inside is a little outdated but they have tons of indoor seating. You are greet immediately when walking in and they will seat you. You can also place orders on the phone for pick up or use DoorDash. They offer tons of selections for veggies, poultry, meat and seafood- soups, noodles and different fried rice. Tons of appetizers to choose from too. We ordered the walnut shrimp, chicken chow fun and combination fried rice. All were tasty and flavorful. Lots of locals were dining and I get why! Tonight the Gyoza was in a stiff bread batter rather than wontons and it was not an improvement! The egg rolls were perfect and my favorite part of dinner was the Egg Flower Soup. My husband likes MooShu Pork and it it was as it should be, but not my favorite ever. The house fried rice was good with delectable shrimp, a little chicken and beef. We had the Hong Kong Shrimp Chow Mien as they were out of rice noodles and it was okay. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. Saki always improves the meal. Service is always friendly, but always slow!
