Another Vacaville gem! Kiin D is the newest Thai restaurant to open in Vacaville, and it definitely did not disappoint. Our hostess was amazing friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering so easy. Before the food even arrived, I was already in love with the restaurant. Maybe I'm biased because green is my favorite color, but I absolutely loved the decor. The beautiful green color palette, thoughtful details, and rattan-inspired furniture gave the space a warm, modern, tropical vibe that felt both cozy and inviting. We ordered the fried chicken, papaya salad, ramyun, corn fritters, and mango sticky rice. The fried chicken was exactly how I like it: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The papaya salad paired with it so well and added the perfect fresh, tangy balance. The corn fritters are an absolute must-order! They were crispy, smoky, packed with sweet corn, and served with a sweet-and-tangy pickled cucumber, red onion, and carrot relish that perfectly cuts through the richness of the fritters. So good! To finish, we had the mango sticky rice. The fresh, sweet mango with warm sticky rice drizzled in rich coconut milk sauce was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Good eats all around! We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

New Thai restaurant that's opened for three weeks. I figured that because it did feel they were still working out some kinks. There was only one waitress and she was really busy. The food was flavorful, but a lot of the dishes were fried. Some was over fried like my southern chicken. I think because too many dishes were fried, they all felt similar. Maybe we should have balanced the meal more with other things like curry. The grandmas secret recipe was pretty good. I also really liked the fried eggplant. It was nice they gave us a mango sticky rice on the house. The cooking station was outside in the same seating area so the place also seemed a little smokey and my clothes ended up smelling a bit afterwards.

We stopped here randomly while looking for lunch one day and wow are we glad we did! This place is sooooo good! Some of the best Thai food we've ever had. The red curry they had that day was delicious. My husband got a chicken dish that was spicy and amazing. Best part by far was the Thai iced tea and mango sticky rice though. To die for. We will definitely be coming back! This place is such a hidden gem in Vacaville

A new place with incredible amount of flies that will dine with you. Honestly, food tasted good, but that alone cannot convince me to give them a high score. I have never eaten at a place with SO MANY FLIES. They are everywhere. I don't understand how a new restaurant can have that many flies and how they passed inspections. When I voiced my concern with their sanity to the staff, the response I got was "well yeah, the weather is hot now". With this attitude, they don't seem to even care about solving the fly problems. It also took us forever to get more water. I don't recommend this place unless you want the flies to keep you accompanied during the meal.

New cozy Thai eatery with delicious food and welcoming service! I went here on a Thursday evening for an early dinner with my husband. He said he heard of this restaurant on either FB or IG and wanted to try it. Parking was easy to find. The restaurant space is small but inviting. We were greeted and seated right away. The people who waited on us were so friendly and inviting. Loved the wooden decor and clean aesthetic. This is what we ordered: * Golden corn, $13 - 3 pieces corn fritters with a cucumber, red onion, and green onion relish. Yummy and refreshing! It reminded us of okoy, but with corn. * Kiin fried, $13 - appetizer of fried eggplants with fish sauce and peanuts served with a sweet chili sauce. Also tasty! It was a nice balance of sweet, salty, and indulgent. * Kiin mun nuea, $27 - beef tallow fried rice with sliced steak and egg on top. The rice was so flavorful and there was a lot of rice and meat! The egg was so delicious with the rice. Not super salty or oily. So delicious and filling. Large portion that could be shared between 2-3 people. * Chef's curry selection, $17, with pork belly, $5 - they rotate their curry weekly. Today was the last day for their green curry. Loved it! Just enough coconut milk was used for me to add a slight richness without being overpowering. The spice was medium to me, which was perfect. Had eggplant and bell pepper pieces. Great amount of pork belly. Lots of soup. Came with a cup of white rice. I was full, so I took some of the soup and pork belly home. On the house, we were given the cha manow. We asked our server, a friendly gentleman with super cool tribal style tattoos, what it was since we hadn't heard of it in a Thai restaurant. He described it as Thai tea but with lime and less sweet. My husband and I decided to skip for now and try it next time. To our surprise, our server gave it on the house to try! I will definitely order one next time because it was delicious and refreshing. Tasted exactly as was described and was lightly sweetened. One detail I appreciated that our server mentioned is they chose to have only a few tables so they can focus on serving food with the highest quality possible. They cook everything to order. I was amazed. You can taste the effort and the care in their food and service. After tax and tip, we paid $96.10 for our dinner here. Was it worth it? Yes! We will be back! I look forward to ordering their mango sticky rice and trying their noodle dishes next time!

we tried the golden corn, grandma's secret, the lychee iced tea and the thai iced tea. golden corn - 7/10, the corn fritters were crispy and paired well with the cucumber relish on the bottom. the dish was refreshing and had a savory, sweet and sour taste. my only complaint was that the fritter was a little oily, but overall very tasty. grandma's secret - 9/10,noodles were chewy and smothered in that sweet, tangy tamarind sauce (a little on the wetter side); mixed with crushed peanuts, chicken, tofu, shallots, and bean sprouts. overall, delicious pad thai lychee iced tea, 9/10, tea was refreshing and not too sweet, very delicious. personally preferred over the thai tea. thai iced tea, 7/10, thai tea was good, just a little sweet. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. Restaurant has a clean, modern look; more on the smaller side (few tables, seating 4). My only complaint was that we didn't receive water or napkins while dining. Overall, food was delicious but a little bit on the pricier side.

Man let me start by saying I don't give 5 stars to just anyone but this restaurant deserves every last one of them. This little gem is actually located in a grocery Lucky grocery store plaza. Its not a very big restaurant they have about 6-8 tables available. Its almost like dining at an open kitchen and I really like that. The service was nothing less than A-1, the restaurant is clean and the food is fire. I ordered the Pork Belly and Grandma's secret noodles (Pad Thai), and let me tell you Grandma's secret is kicking all kinds of ass. They also brought us some fried eggplant that was amazing, I didn't even know if like eggplant like that. I recommend this spit to anyone thats looking for some good Thai food in the area. I'll definitely be back for sure.

As soon as you step in, you can smell all the savory dishes being cooked. There aren't a lot of tables, which I actually appreciate since I didn't have to bump into people whenever I got up. The menu is small but very unique! We tried the KIIN Fried--the crispy fried eggplant--which was a great start to our meal. I'm not sure what the crispy topping was (garlic, maybe?), but it gave the dish such great texture. We also tried the chef's curry selection (green curry) with pork belly, and that was tasty as well! I was not expecting the heat level to be like that, but I'm kind of weak when it comes to spice, and it didn't stop me from eating as much as I could. Our only complaint was the amount of rice they give with the dish. Since it's supposed to be family-style, we were expecting a little more. So here's a tip: order extra rice! We wanted to try the Thai old-school fried rice so we could compare it to other restaurants, but they accidentally gave us the wrong dish. I believe they gave us the Bangkok Jowl Rice, which I wasn't even upset about. They were very apologetic and offered to switch it out with what we originally ordered, but it looked so good that we just kept it. The crispy pork was AMAZING, and this was probably my favorite dish. I would come back just for this! They definitely do not skimp on the protein in any of their dishes. I'd love to come back and try more of their menu. Service was amazing--they were super nice and got me excited for their new venture.

Well someone has to be the bad guy. Found this new spot like less than a minute from our house. Was hoping it was amazing because it was so close. First turn off? Walked in and there are flies everywhere. Almost walked right back out. My wife convinced me to at least give it a try. Dining area is very small. 6 tables I think. Server was very attentive. We got the menu and again it was very small very limited. Used to a lot more variety at a Thai restaurant. We ordered the sticky wings appetizer and then 2 entrees. Grandmas secret and The Holy Basil. Everything tasted fine but none of it really wowed us. More flies while we ate. So not great, but certainly not the worst experience I've ever had

literally so good. this is a hidden gem that SHOULD NOT BE HIDDEN! everything i got is super unique and honestly most that ive never had before. i ordered:golden corn, kin fried, kiin sticky wings and for entrees: grandmas secret, pad rumyong, kiin &mum nuea. and dessert: mango sticky rice. drinks: berry mojito, lychee iced tea, thai tea. all i have to say: these people are the nicest ppl ever. they seriously do care about this food and craft and the heart of the customers! vacaville finally has the cutest brunch/dinner spot, like hello each dish has flowers on it and the ambiance is super cute and instagram-able!

New Thai place by Lucky's off Peabody. Waited a bit to try out after their grand opening a couple weeks ago. Small place but food was delish! Service was fast and friendly. They checked on us frequently and made sure our cups were filled with water. All the food we ordered we all shared. Will come back again to try the other food on the menu.

    Grandma's Secret noodles
    K D.

Great new Thai spot that just opened last week! The food is incredibly flavorful, specially the Grandma's Secret noodles (Pad Thai), which offers a perfect sweet-to-tangy balance. We also ordered their Kiin D Kai Tod, Old-school fried rice & Moo Krob crunch. However, it felt a little too expensive for the amount of food they served. The restaurant has a bright, minimalist aesthetic and friendly staff. They are still adjusting to the busy crowds, which is expected, but be prepared--the AC wasn't quite working, and we started working up a sweat while eating!

Crispy chicken fried rice - 10/10, chicken was juicy and super crispy, paired with two different sauces (1) some sort of creamy mayo aioli (2) sweet chili sauce; i personally preferred the sweet chili sauce. The rice itself was subtle, with a slight soy sauce flavor; definitely allowed the chicken to shine. Thai iced tea - 8/10, good thai tea. not too sweet, stronger on the tea side. I wanted more variety and balance with the potatoes and carrots. I expected the carrots to be crunchy, but not with the potatoes. The potatoes were on the tougher side and just needed a bit more time to cook and soften. And also with more cooking time means the soup to be thicker, which it also needed. Overall, taste of the yellow curry was decent, just the ingredients were a bit off. As an appetizer, the pork belly surprisingly had a good portion size. Or maybe that's just the illusion of the long plate it is served on? Among the dishes we ordered, this was my least favorite. It was not crispy, more on the harder and chewy texture. It just didn't have that crisp like a typical crispy pork belly should. The other two dishes - pad see ew and pineapple fried rice - were great. Taste, texture, color - all near-perfection. The pad see ew can add a bit more on the portion size, otherwise both dishes are a must to order here. As for customer service, we had pleasant experience. We did not know they close mid-day, so we arrived about little more than 30 minutes before closing, but they were still pretty eager to take us in. Many other folks were still in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive.

We frequent the Vietnamese restaurant, but never really think about going to Tom Yum Goong until today. We were originally going to Pho Lee Hoa Phat for dinner, but when we walked up I asked my son if he want to eat Thai instead which he and my wife decided they wanted to eat instead of Vietnamese. Ambiance (3.5/5 stars): first impressions when we walked in is that it is dark and needed more lighting. After sitting down, I noticed that one side of the restaurant was full of random antique items. I overheard someone asking them about the antiques and the owner said that her husband buys the antiques at estate sales, etc and that they are open to offers to purchase them. There are some Thai decor in the restaurant. Older 70's/80's music was playing in the background so it didn't feel like being in a Thai Restaurant especially with all the American antiques on one side of the restaurant. There are a handful of tables (seating for 4 people), but they do have room for larger parties. Food (4.5/5 stars): We really enjoyed our food. They had great flavors. The portion size was not big, but the price also reflected the smaller portion size compared to other Thai restaurants in town. Dishes: - Mango Salad: nice chunks of mango, mixed with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onions, mint, cilantro, carrots, cashews, shrimp and the chef's special mango sauce. It was a nice refreshing dish and was once of our favorite dishes that we ordered today. - Super Pad Thai w/ Chicken: flavorful, authentic Pad Thai flavors - Moo Yang (B.B.Q. Pork): nice tasting grilled pork with sweet chili dipping sauce - Pad Ka Prow (Pad Basil - Beef): nice flavor, had a lot of green beans (not usually in Pad Ka Prow), but I liked the flavors. I always welcome extra veggies. Service (4/5 stars): The waitress/owner was very nice and was pretty attentive overall. She was the only one waiting tables and with take out orders as well as helping some in the kitchen. She came by a few times to check on us and refill our waters. It was a slow night for dinner (~7pm, Friday), only one other table eating and 2 take out orders while we were there, so not sure how the service would have been if they were busy. Food came out relatively quick. Tom Yum Goong is a kind of hidden in Vacaville. They have great tasting food and would be much busier at a better location. They do have smaller portion sizes, but prices do reflect that. Between Vacaville and Fairfield, I feel Vacaville's Thai restaurants are much tastier than any in Fairfield and Tom Yum Goong is no exception. If you are craving some good Thai food, give them a try. You might even find a piece of antique that you may want to purchase.

It is a lot of food, but we wiped out all of it among two adults and two young kids. The satays were SO GOOD! Hands down the best I've had in the USA, and on par with the best satay places I've had in Southeast Asia! Our favorites including both kids were beef and pork. So tender, so flavorful and delicious even without using the peanut sauce. We even got another two orders of each to take home! Seafood laksa was such a big portion with good amount of seafood. If you've had Singaporean or Malaysian laksa, this is different. Different in a good way since the owner chef is from Indonesia. The Hainanese chicken rice was tasty. Turmeric rice was different since I'm used to the ginger chicken rice, but the poached chicken was very well made. Under the chicken skin was a layer of gelatin which happens when the chicken is poached and then cool in a meticulous method. Together with the ginger scallion oil sauce, it was umami! Fried spring rolls were crispy and good flavor of meat and vegetables inside. Together with their house lime chili sauce, it was a party in the mouth! Looking forward to their opening at their next location!

(I also paid using the online services, but I did see someone paying in person.) I was drawn to Bazar Eatery when I saw they had Laksa; I ordered the Seafood Laksa. Ever since I had it in Singapore, I've been hoping to find somewhere that serves this soup. It was nice to find somewhere that serves it, but it doesn't compare to the flavor of the laksa I had in Singapore. (Maybe it's a different variant of the dish, but I preferred the more coconut heavy broth flavor that I had over there.) I still enjoyed this dish overall though. I also tried the Hainanese Chicken. It really wasn't anything amazing, but this could be due to the dish being served with regular, white rice; they had run out of turmeric rice for the day. I also had the kumquat sparkling drink. The menu notes it's sour, but I didn't think it was overly so. It was still more sweet than sour in my opinion. I enjoyed the drink, and it tasted like they used real fruit rather than artificial syrups. I think the portions are a bit small, particularly in the case of the Hainanese Chicken, but it's nice that they served complimentary shrimp chips. Service came off as genuinely welcoming/friendly, even if we weren't checked on after the food came out.

We walked in and there were a few people already enjoying lunch, but plenty of open seating. We were seated right away and service got going quickly. Always a good sign. There are lunch specials, but we went à la carte because I believe if you're going out to eat, you might as well order what you actually want. We ordered seafood tom kha, chicken & shrimp pad Thai, basil beef, spicy catfish, pla pad phed (trout), and steamed rice -- all requested not spicy because my parents like flavor, not a near-death experience. The seafood tom kha was a win. Dad was impressed with the variety of seafood -- shrimp, scallops, mussels, calamari, and catfish. He kept commenting on how flavorful the broth was, which in dad language is basically a Michelin star. The basil beef was new for my parents and they both loved it. The sauce had great flavor and paired perfectly with the rice. The pad Thai was good. Solid. Dependable. Not the kind that makes you dramatically pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices, but definitely tasty. Now the spicy catfish is what I personally come here for. It's fried just right -- not overly breaded, still flaky and tender inside. The sauce is always on point and full of flavor. This dish alone keeps me coming back. The pla pad phed (trout) unfortunately didn't land the same way. Because it's served filleted, it's easy to overcook, and sadly this one was. The sauce itself was great, but the fish was a bit too done. Overall, this place has been a favorite of mine for a while, and it survived the ultimate test: my parents enjoyed it too. I'll definitely keep coming back for the spicy catfish, basil beef, and their reliable pad Thai. And the service? Always friendly and attentive -- which honestly makes the experience even better.
