Delicious food! This is a hidden gem in an unexpected area. I was craving Thai food after shopping at the mall so I used to google to find a place and this popped up. Google Maps took us through the neighborhood then we ended up in a plaza out of no where. Not the greatest neighborhood but the food definitely made up for it. Price is reasonable and portions were decent. Service was friendly. Not too many people eating in but definitely a steady amount of take out orders. Inside the restaurant is nice decor and very quiet. We ordered the citrus chicken, crying tiger (the sauce is AMAZING!) pad Thai, and red curry. Everything was delicious!

As the old saying goes Always trust your gut instinct. Now, let's begin this new fabulous Lao review. RodSap is a popular restaurant known for its authentic Thai and Laotian cuisine. It's located in a midsize plaza at downtown Fairfield, CA. As we heard from local customers who frequently praise their flavorful dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. That said we were excited in trying our first ever Lao cuisine. We arrived on a very warm afternoon for lunch, and were greeted by a young Laotian female staff. I must say their interior decor and layout were culturally curated and spacious, respectively. Their menu has an extensive list of food from appetizers, to salad to pan fried noodles to stir fried dishes served with rice. The culmination of our decision was when it's either go with rice or pan friend noodles. I chose the latter. Their food was flavorful and tasty; food portion was suffice it to say enough. Iced tea was refreshing. Atmosphere was relaxing. Service was spot on. Staff were cordial, articulate and competent. Ample of parking. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious. I recommend you visit.

Since it's not often that I find myself in Fairfield, RodSap Thai Lao Kitchen has been in my bookmarks for years. When the Meyers Cookware Sale brought me into town, I finally stopped in for lunch afterwards. Since we arrived right when they opened, we had the place to ourselves for almost an hour. We tried their Lao Sausage and Pumpkin Curry. The Lao Sausage a bit of heat to it but not overpowering and the pumpkin curry was so delicious with that bowl of rice, I couldn't stop eating it. Great decor, service, and food, we will be back when we find ourselves back in Fairfield.

We stopped here after leaving the bay area going back to NorCal area. I enjoyed both the pad thai and green curry but I didn't think the Lao papaya salad had too much flavor. I think this was due to the spice overpowering the other components. I've had plenty different variations and this just didn't hit the spot. I will give it another try the next time I go through Fairfield to determine if it was a one time thing. The employees at the front were really nice.

Excellent service, friendly and inviting. The location isn't the best. But, a very nice surprise inside. Nicely decorated and very clean. The prices are about the same as other Thai restaurants. The servings are a good portion size. The food is delicious. The spicy wings were the favorite of the night. I myself loved the pad thai. I'm looking forward to coming back in the future.

We always have amazing, delicious food at RodSap, today the difference was the outstanding service that we had from the young lady who served us. So friendly and personable. The dining area is always clean and today I was able to watch the end of the 49er game from where we were sitting. I tried the bbq pork today and it had an awesome grilled flavor. My wife got the red curry with beef, she says it's the best she's ever had.

Best Thai food in the Bay Area and we've tried tons of places. The fried bananas are to die for. The curries are delicious.

RodSap has a special place in my memory thanks to them never changing the flavors of their dishes. Everything tastes as good as I remembered it way back when this place opened - even when it was S&L Thai. Their service has always been friendly, kind, and welcoming. From the outside, it wouldn't be what you'd imagine on the inside but it features a nice sized dinning room and a TV upon walking in. My favorite dishes by far is the citrus chicken. I absolutely love the breading and the sauce that it comes with. The chicken is never too dry and I even enjoy the greens that it comes with. The pad Thai has the perfect amount of sauce. I can always count on it to be the same every time I order it.

Can't believe I've driven by this location so many times! Cute simple indoor vibe, good eats for an intimate meal or festive for a larger group. Service is absolutely amazing!!! Food comes out picture perfect in a timely manner. Definitely enjoyed their eggrolls and the pumpkin curry. You won't be disappointed with what you order.

Kao Poon really hit the spot on a cold day. The soup was perfectly spiced at level 3 and the Shrimp tempura was delicious.

We came here wanting to try something new. My husband said his half Thai coworker mentioned this place so we thought, why not?Honestly the service was very good, but the food was just not great. The citrus chicken was very rubbery and the batter was falling off the chicken so it was basically just bare, rubbery chicken breast. The lao sausage was just ok and lacking the complex flavors I was expecting. The yellow curry and pad see ew were ok, pretty standard. All in all the bad outweighed the good and sadly, there are other Thai restaurants in town that we would prefer over this place.

Second time here for Thai food. This time around we ordered and picked up. We were looking for…read moresomething different for dinner and decided on Thai food. I drove a bit (from Vacaville) and glad I did. They are always so nice and greet all their customers. Even the ones that pick up. We ordered their fried chicken dish and they waited to finish it off so it wouldn't be soggy when we were ready to eat. That was thoughtful of them! Everything else was on hit - Pad Thai - combination: Piping hot and ready to be devoured. Was portioned to feed 2 people (but feed 3), even amounts of shrimp, chicken and sprinkled peanuts and tofu to round out the proteins. Bangkok Chicken Wings: Nicely seasoned and fried crispy. I loved that they waited to fry to service when we got there. It's the little things #score This is our go to Thai restaurant because the food is extremely flavorful and the service is top notch!

Took my parents out for lunch on a weekday because my dad enjoys Thai food. They hadn't been here…read morebefore, but I've been enough times to know it's a solid choice. We walked in and there were a few people already enjoying lunch, but plenty of open seating. We were seated right away and service got going quickly. Always a good sign. There are lunch specials, but we went à la carte because I believe if you're going out to eat, you might as well order what you actually want. We ordered seafood tom kha, chicken & shrimp pad Thai, basil beef, spicy catfish, pla pad phed (trout), and steamed rice -- all requested not spicy because my parents like flavor, not a near-death experience. The seafood tom kha was a win. Dad was impressed with the variety of seafood -- shrimp, scallops, mussels, calamari, and catfish. He kept commenting on how flavorful the broth was, which in dad language is basically a Michelin star. The basil beef was new for my parents and they both loved it. The sauce had great flavor and paired perfectly with the rice. The pad Thai was good. Solid. Dependable. Not the kind that makes you dramatically pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices, but definitely tasty. Now the spicy catfish is what I personally come here for. It's fried just right -- not overly breaded, still flaky and tender inside. The sauce is always on point and full of flavor. This dish alone keeps me coming back. The pla pad phed (trout) unfortunately didn't land the same way. Because it's served filleted, it's easy to overcook, and sadly this one was. The sauce itself was great, but the fish was a bit too done. Overall, this place has been a favorite of mine for a while, and it survived the ultimate test: my parents enjoyed it too. I'll definitely keep coming back for the spicy catfish, basil beef, and their reliable pad Thai. And the service? Always friendly and attentive -- which honestly makes the experience even better.
