First time trying out this food truck located in the casino parking lot. We called in our order ahead of time and I'm glad I did because they get pretty busy. The ladies were super nice. We went on a Saturday and they have Kao Piek special soup of the day. We took them to go and enjoyed at home. We ordered a few things to try Lao sausage with sticky rice (its a must), Lao nam Khao(delicious), papaya salad and you can choose your own spice level, chicken wings (ask for super crispy). I wasn't so sure about coming here just because it's located in American Canyon so I was super iffy about driving over here and ordering food but surprise, surprise to me- the food is on point! It's a food truck with dishes priced reasonably. The line moves quick and the food is prepared quickly too. If you want to enjoy your food right away (which is what I like to do), there is a little seating area. Don't worry if you don't have cash, credit cards are accepted. The PAD THAI is the best here! I've been wanting Pad Thai but no place in Vallejo can make it good. Here? WOW! It's saucy and everything is so flavorful. The ingredients (stir-fried rice noodles, eggs, green onions, tofu, bean sprouts, and roasted peanuts) and spices (vinegar, chili, palm sugar, soy sauce, and fish sauce) come together to make each single bite- perfect/ drool worthy. I've had Kob's Kitchen dozens of times, and it's consistently delicious and addicting. The Lao sausage is very flavorful, but the sauce that comes with the meal is the secret sauce. The combination of the flavor from the sausage, special sauce and sticky rice is perfect. The fried chicken is great, too. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it definitely fulfills your chicken wing fix if you want another side to your meal. The pad Thai is delicious with a combination of sweet and sour after sprinkling a bit of lime. The magic is when you combine the Lao sausage, papaya salad (not pictured), pad Thai and the secret sauce. The papaya salad is a must-try. I usually get medium spicy. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you for the different flavor profiles and overwhelmingly delicious spices and flavors. For American Canyon, I don't think many restaurants can hang with Kob's Kitchen...and this is all out of a food truck with limited space. Service is quick. Wait time after placing an order over the phone can be 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend calling to place an order versus just showing up to order. I had been craving Thai food and decided to order from this place. I ordered the veggie spring rolls the pad Thai and Thai tea. The Thai tea was really good! Strong and not watered down at all. Don't order the fried rice. I use to come a lot and order the same thing every single time but then the last 3 times I came, the rice was burnt, hard, crunchy and black. The eggs were burnt, almost black and just as crunchy as the rice. I told them about it and they said this is how they make their rice even though I have had their rice many times before and it was Never like this. I can't tell you how happy I am that we now have a food truck like this. As of June 2025, this place is in the parking lot of the Napa valley casino. I had the special dessert drink with all the different jellied stuff in it and the papaya salad. I got the papaya salad spicy. It was perfect and had a very authentic taste. It was considerably bagged to go, the papaya salad was in a separate bag. Then the wedge of cabbage + rice noodles were separate. So it traveled really well. I don't recommend normal people getting the spicy version. But I'm an Asian who likes super spicy food and it was perfect for me. Since it's right on my way to Walmart, this will be a regular stop and I'll try all the other stuff. So convenient. Did I say how happy I was already? Lol. The owners are the kindest people ever, I've been here a few times and they're always so genuine. The food was absolutely amazing, I've tried their papaya salad, lao sausage, fried chicken, nam khao, and thai tea. Their Thai tea is a must order, it has the perfect balance of sweet/creamy. Their nam khao has a super generous amount of fermented sausage in it and I love how you can really taste the coconut flavor in the deep fried rice bits. The leafy greens they serve with this dish are also super fresh. Their Lao sausage is on the more herbally side and the portion they provide is huge! It's served with fresh sticky rice and this delicious spicy green sauce. There's a comfortable enclosed tent area right next to the food truck for you to enjoy your food fresh. I got the Pad Thai with shrimp, Matcha Green Tea, and papaya salad (mild). The food tasted great and I love their Pad Thai. I took off a star because the Pad Thai only had 3 shrimps inside so it's kind of silly to pay extra for only that amount. The matcha green tea is pretty big. It was more on the sweeter side and I'm not sure if sweetness level could be adjusted, but I would definitely ask next time. Papaya Salad is delicious. But beware that even mild spice can be a little too spicy for some so I recommend adding a little bit of the sauce at a time when mixing. It's creamy, spicy, and rich. If you order on a Monday or Tuesday, I highly recommend getting it! Today, I decided to try their Khao Mun Gai Tod and Nam Khao. Both delicious and also recommend both! One of the best things about Kob's is their generous portion sizes. Most dishes I get last 2 meals for me, which is great since their food is so good. They are always kind as well! The ambiance is straightforward... a food truck, that sits behind a casino. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Food: I ordered the chicken bahn mi and the shrimp spring rolls. I loved that the chicken is chopped so it makes biting into the sandwich easy. Also the meat was seasoned very well. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. My friend really likes the pad Thai, so I will try that the next time I am in the area. The staff were very pleasant and thoughtful. My friend ordered food to go however they made it to order when we were finished with our meal so it could be fresh and hot for the recipient. I'm a simple man I see Thai or Hainan chicken rice & I order it. Simple & delicious as usual & They also have solid Banh Mi's.

After all the positive reviews I really wanted to try the food here. I was very disappointed that the vegetables in Bahn mi were cut in such large pieces that it took more of effort to chew. Also the papaya in papaya salad was also cut in large slices unlike the Thai version. I also thought it lacked flavor and umami as it didn't taste like it had "pounded" dried shrimp, peanuts and green beans in the salad. However the pad Thai was good. The flavor of the meat tastes good and the pickled veggies are sweet and crisp. the cilantro was fresh and the jalapeno gave the sandwich just the right amount of heat. I am excited to finally have a place that serves Laos Food and to top it off, its around the corner from our house!! Their truck is parked in the Napa Valley Casino. We started ordering regularly here. We've tried the Nam Khao, Khao poon, French fries, fried rice and papaya salad. All were very tasty and delicious. I originally came across signs for this truck in passing, helping my parents move. However, it was a Sunday. I called to see if they took phone orders and she kindly told me they were closed. After looking at previous reviews an pictures, I made it my mission to see them within the week - I went the next day they were open. I ordered and paid online, for pick up ASAP. Upon arrival, I noticed the truck is behind the casino. I wasn't expecting to see so much outdoor seating in the area - which is a plus. My food was ready for me as soon as I walked up. The woman working was super friendly and praised me for using the online order option. She says this is the best way to order if you are in a rush, since their turn around time is pretty quick. Between hitting submit and driving to the location, my food was ready in ~15/20 minutes. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Flavors were on point. Spice level was legit - I broke sweat after a few bites but I loved it lol. And it was so affordable. One meal can probably feed two people - might have to order an extra side of rice.
