This place is super yummy!! We were in Vallejo last weekend for a specialty dog show, and it was the end of a long day. I was craving Thai food and found this place while looking through Yelp. The prices and the food looked great, so we quickly headed over to Thai Place to fix our growling stomachs. Thai Place is a tiny restaurant but with a cozy atmosphere. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. We arrived around an odd time of the afternoon, so the restaurant was pretty empty, save for a few patrons finishing up their meal. I hadn't had curry in a long time, so I went with the pumpkin red curry with pork, while my husband chose the crispy chicken herb fried rice. For our appetizer we went with a potato curry puff (basically a curry empanada). I didn't order a Thai tea as it was later in the day and I didn't want to be bouncing off the walls that night, but from what I saw, the Thai tea looked good and I made it a point to try it next time we were in the area. Our appetizer arrived pretty quickly, and it was steaming hot. The cucumber salad on the side was delicious and cut the richness of the curry puffs beautifully. We devoured every last bite. Our entrees were next to arrive, and the portion sizes were pretty big! We hadn't eaten all day, but if we had had lunch, I feel like we wouldn't have been able to finish our food. The curry was delectable with a deep, bold flavor and the pumpkin was cooked perfectly. The pork was tender and the rice was soft and fluffy. My husband's crispy chicken was breaded beautifully and the fried rice underneath was flavorful. He also enjoyed the dipping sauce for the chicken. He took a small box of leftovers back to our Airbnb to enjoy later that evening. For the quality of the food we enjoyed, the price point of Thai Place is definitely hard to beat. There aren't many selections of good food in Vallejo, and I'm super glad we found this hidden gem. Our server was also very attentive and came by often made sure that our waters were filled and the food was up to our liking. I'd love to return the next time we are in the area for a dog show, and definitely recommend Thai Place for anyone who needs their Thai food fix! read more

Spicy Basil pork with rice for hubby with no complaints. The crispy spring rolls are all veggie and comes with a warm chili sauce- yum. It was just Okay!! I ordered over the phone for pick up. The restaurant was small and quaint. I ordered a LARGE Tom Yum soup and the portion didn't fill a regular small soup bowl. I can normally share this dish when I order from other Thai restaurants. The Thai fried rice was decent. However, the Pad Thai with shrimp was delicious. Best Thai food in Vallejo, hands down! My go-tos are the chicken yellow curry and massaman curry. The consistency is not too watery but just the right thick. Filled with flavor and good balance of chicken and potatoes. Moo Yang was delicious, the sauce that came with it was AMAZING, I could drink that stuff! Love the soju flavors and dessert options a well. Can't go wrong with their mango sticky rice! Only downside is it's on the not-so-great part of town so I wouldn't leave any valuables in the car or park as close to the front as possible. read more

Thai spot in Vallejo! Came here during a recent girls trip to Napa but we stayed at a spot in Vallejo. After a long day of travel, we settled into our airbnb and were looking for dinner. After a quick spot on Yelp, we found this spot for takeout to order and eat back home. Ordering was easy enough and we were able to pick up easily, as well. The food was overall good, we ordered the yellow and red curry, Tom Kha Gia, and the roti. The only thing that was a bit off was the roti which was a bit different than what we were all used to, being a bit more greasy but overall, a solid Thai spot if you're in the area. read more

Wow!!! I am so glad to have found this hidden gem. I was looking for Thai food since my usual spot closed and this place had my belly happy! The yellow curry was piping hot fresh and is some of the best tasting curry's I've had in a long time. The depth in flavor really caught me by surprise. I whole heartedly want to try to the rest of their curry styles. Pad Thai did have a slight spice to it, but it wasn't spicy to where no one could eat it. It was more of a subtle, yet I know it's there. Service was fast as I ordered over the phone, but you could also order online as well. Cozy, mom&pop style Thai restaurant in downtown Vallejo. Went there for lunch with a couple of friends, its decorated nicely inside, and you can seat yourself if its not busy. Our waiter was friendly and slightly confused by one of my friends commenting on how much he liked the spiderman decoration in the men's restroom; if they had followed the same theme in the women's. He laughed and said no....they thought about Barbie or Hello Kitty...but decided to stay neutral. Getting to our food....I loved what I ordered which was the Thai basil chicken...the sauce was so flavorful, couldve used just a little more steamed rice to mop it up, but tasty none the less. I was visiting with some family and after Yelping we decided to try Thai Place. We were not disappointed. I Highly recommend the lunch specials. We ordered the spicy green beans with tofu, Stir fried eggplant with pork and the cashew nut stir fry with chicken. They all came with rice, salad and egg rolls. The entrees were plentiful, The egg rolls were some of the best I have ever had! Crispy, light, perfectly cooked, with an incredible mouthfeel. On a recent girls trip, after many days of nonstop activities, we were on the hunt for some comforting take out to enjoy at our Airbnb. We all landed on Thai Place, with their great reviews and reasonable prices, it seemed like the perfect option. We placed on order online and were given about 30 minutes or so to pick it up on a Friday evening. We all got various forms of curry of our own spice preferences, they offer a 1-5 scale. Shared some eggs rolls, roti and fried rice. Everything for the most part was delicious. The yellow and red curry, were both delicious. We got them with chicken and 2 level spice. Neither of them were very spicy, but did offer great flavor. As well as an order of the Tom Kha Gia, which has lovely flavor. They both felt a little short on protein, but still hit the mark. The roti, was a little different than what we were used to and has a greasier puff style. Still nice to try, but didn't hit the mark for us. This restaurant was extremely clean and had a warm interior. Prices were reasonable however I thought portion sizes were off a bit. The food is delicious! I've only ever ordered through Door Dash so I can't speak to what it's like inside the restaurant. I love that they let you customize spice level 1-5. My favorite dish is chicken cashew nut. I also have had their pineapple fried rice, Thai curry puff, and chicken satay. The peanut sauce is solid I always ask for extra! I highly recommend this place for good quality Thai food. I have them 4 stars because I believe for the cost of the food the portions could be larger. read more

The pad Thai is mid, at best. Maybe I should've asked for it more than level 2 spicy, but this isn't spicy at all. It doesn't have a good tangy flavor, but tastes too sweet. I also ordered their roti and curry app, which was really airy. I expected a more pancake-like texture. I am grateful this restaurant took my order kind of last minute. I heard of a new Thai spot that opened in Vallejo and I had to try! They are located across the street from the World Classics Event Center, where there is mostly street parking. Inside is cute and spacious. There was only one group of people dining upon my arrival, so I was given the option to sit anywhere (booth seating or regular chairs). I ordered a Thai iced tea, water, the papaya salad with medium spice and the red curry lunch special. Thai iced tea was one of the best I ever had. I love sweetened condensed milk and you can definitely taste it in their mix. The papaya salad could have been better. When they say they use a lime sauce, it tastes like they only use lime and salt. I also ordered it medium spice, but it tasted like no spice. The red curry tho... was perfection! I love that they offer a lunch special option. In my experience not many Thai places in the area/neighboring cities off lunch specials. They provided the perfect amount for a reasonable price. As for service, I ordered everything at the same time. Of course my drinks came almost instant. The papaya salad took them about 10-15 minutes to bring out. Then, my main dish took about another 15-20 minutes to bring out. This place was delicious. Went today with my 2 best friends, we ordered the Cheese Wontons (Crab Rangoon) and the Crispy Pork Belly with tamarind sauce as appetizers. The wontons were perfectly crispy and the sauce was a perfect balance, the pork belly was tender and the tamarind sauce was the perfect tangy sweet balance. For Vallejo this place is exceptional. My only gripe was they don't have their beer license yet despite it being on the menu. We ordered tom ka gai and it actually had pieces of lemongrass and kefir lime, a rarity for Thai places, it was fragrant and flavorful. The spouse had crab fried rice and the bbq pork plate. I had green beef curry. All were so good we took kapok fried rice and black pepper pork to go. The spouse raved over the Thai tea. Despite the blighted location we will be back regularly. read more
