Sisig, pork liempo, and kare kare
    Khristine C.

This is such a hole in the wall food truck but the food is really yummy! At first I couldn't find it, I thought it was in front of JJ's Fish and the liquor store but it's not... it's off to the side of the liquor store tucked in the corner. They have a few tables set up so you can eat outside which is what we decided to do. We got the sisig, the liempo, and the Kare Kare combo which came with unlimited rice and soup. Everything tasted delicious but it had a syrupy sweet aftertaste. Even the kare kare and the sisig was surprisingly sweet. The food came out fast and hot. I thought the free soup was going to be Nilaga or sinigang sabaw but it was this very distinct broth and you can taste that it was made with star anise as one of the spices. It was good, just very different. I would definitely come back and try the street food which is only available on the weekends.

This is my favorite Filipino food truck and we are regulars here. Reasonable prices, delicious authentic filipino food and street foods as well. All in the menu are mostly my favorite food and it taste and feels like home eating these. The owners are very nice and hardworking. There's a limited parking, mostly street parking. The area is not big and I only go on weekdays to avoid the crowd or long wait. They also have an unlimited rice that is good for 2-3 people dine in only and we love that. So far I recommend the pork sisig, crispy kare kare, and if you like street foods try all the items in the menu. Not a perfect food truck location but a must try for the taste of Filipino foods.

This was by far one of the best Filipino food I've had. And it's a FOOD TRUCK! We had their crispy kare kare, sisig, pork bbq, and bulalo. Everything was delicious! And the owners were so friendly. We will definitely be back!

Decided to come here for dinner because we were getting tired of all the regular places we go to. There aren't too many choices here in Vallejo. They had a lot of options as far as combo plates, bbq sticks and à la carte. Here is what we got and our thoughts: Beef Pares - 7/10 This was hubby's order and he said he likes it, but it tastes a little too gamey and an acquired taste. He had beef pares recently at a Filipino place in Napa and he said they was memorable. Crispy Kare Kare - 6/10 This was my order. It sounded good and I probably didn't read the part that it said pork belly so that's my fault as I also ordered lechon kawali. The pork belly wasn't bad. However, what was very different is the sauce. It is super sweet. Even if you use the bagoong, you can't taste it because the sauce is overpowering. I barely taste peanut butter in this. I had to stop eating because of how sweet it is. Lechon Kawali - 8/10 I mean you can't go wrong with it I would hope. It's good BBQ Pork Stick - 9/10 Hubby said that these were good! All in all, I wouldn't get the Kare Kare again or beef pares. But again, this is our taste and our opinion. Others may think differently. Will maybe come back for the lumpia once they get it.

Found this place on Yelp and got there at 7:15PM, just shy of 45 mins of closing on a Friday night. The frost desk service was incredible, they still let us dine-in and gave us the respected time to fully enjoy our meal. They sat us down , took our order and even recommended some items! We got our food quickly and it was well worth the visit! The food was top notch, the sides were incredible and every bite felt like mouthwatering. We sat towards the back and it was a gorgeous view of Downtown vallejo! I highly recommend coming by and trying this place if you haven't! We will definitely be back again! The kitchen was very busy and there were lots of customers around with happy faces. When I got the food to my table, I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic it looked and tasted, and it reminded me of my grandma's cooking and that's a southern girl that knows her barbecue. I would love to come back to this place again. It was a lot of fun to come in here and try the different foods and I had as many different things as I could. I will return.

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Wasn't actually in the mood for ramen, but I was with some people that definitely were. I got out voted and thank goodness for majority rule because I stumbled upon a great dish if ramen isn't your thing. Btw - their vegetarian ramen is hella good. Big portions and a top notch broth! Agedashi Tofu, no bonito flakes. Comes with 8 tofu slices. And be warned, it's super hot so be careful. Don't burn your mouth. Comes with a dipping sauce, but ask for a teriyaki sauce. Order a bowl of rice and a side vegetable like cabbage and you've got a delicious, balanced meal. And say hello to Lee while you're there. Super friendly guy.

The dining room is modern, clean, and inviting, with high ceilings and plenty of seating. While I was initially surprised by the wait since I was the only customer, the restaurant quickly filled with diners and takeout orders, making it obvious this place has built a loyal following. I ordered the new Wonton Ramen Soup, spicy and an order of lumpia. As a ramen fan, I can honestly say the broth was outstanding, rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The generous portion was loaded with fresh bok choy, perfectly cooked egg, green onions, and large wontons, creating a delicious fusion of classic wonton soup and ramen with a Tonkotsu broth. I also appreciated the oversized ladle-style soup spoon, which made it easy to enjoy every sip of that incredible broth and every bite of the fresh ingredients. The lumpia was crispy and good, but fairly standard. My only disappointment was the packaged sweet and sour sauce. A house-made dipping sauce would have paired much better with the quality of the food. The restaurant itself was very clean, but I'd recommend moving the bussing cart with used bowls, plates, and trash to the back of the kitchen. It's a small detail, but keeping it out of guests' view would make the dining room feel even more polished and inviting. Overall, Ramon 101 was good. Great broth, fresh ingredients, generous portions, make this a place I'll definitely return to. It's easy to see why the locals keep coming back.

This place really does feel like I'm coming over to one of my good friend's kitchens and they're cooking me food. I truly felt a warm sense of hospitality while eating here. I came here a couple times because I was working in the area. The space itself is not large with a few tables inside. And you go up to the counter and put in your order before sitting down or waiting around for takeout. The first time I came here, I got the lunch special, which was the chopped cheese. It was delicious. The second time I felt like I should actually try their barbecue, which was also good and I'm pretty solid deal specially with barbecue prices these days. I like that they also sell other things from their friends and family. One of the times I bought some baked goods from one of their friends. And I saw that they were selling some custom artwork made by one of the family members in the space as well. Just a great spot that adds to the community and is run by really kind folks.

We pull up and the parking lot is completely full even some car making there own parking spaces lol. We parked about 2 blocks down in a neighborhood hood since all the side street parking was all taken. I knew this place was the right choice and was going to be a hit! We walked in and there is a line to pick your food. This is basically a seafood market and they will cook what you pick if you want. The additional cooking fee is $3.00 per pound. I ordered my food to be cooked I was hangry and left with a triple wide big back. My seafood I picked was Alligator, Baby octopus, Basa, Catfish, Jumbo Lobster Tail, Jumbo Tiger prawns, Sea Scallops, and Oysters. I also ordered a bottle of Kim's Crack Sauce. My total damage with cooking fee was $130 it was well worth the price with the amount of food and the seafood per pound is great! I was told it was an hour wait for my food to be cooked and I was totally fine with it. Less than an hour later my food is done and I am handed 2 giant shopping bags full of food and head home. My food was still warm after driving 1.5 hrs home. I dig into the bags and when I tell you they cooked everything to pure perfection and seasoned properly they did their big one. You can also request you food to be fried hard if you want. I will definitely be back. I want to try other seafood items. There is no dining area to sit and eat Soultran's is strictly order to go.
