On a recent road trip through vallejo we stumbled upon this small restaurant and store that served Filipino food. We craved it and the reviews were decent. Although the selection was limited, each dish was tasty. Based on the location I suspect this place services local Filipinos the convenience for some goods. The space has been configured with table to sit and enjoy the hot and flavorful eats. The owner was very helpful identifying the dishes and served us with a big smile. A neighborly customer boasted about the catering and especially the crispy pata dish. We look forward to stopping in again when in the area.

They look crispy but they weren't.

I ordered 300 lumpias for a party, they were delicious but I wish she wouldn't of covered them right after frying cause they got soggy when I got to the event and uncovered the other 2 trays. They still got eaten, but I'd say just leave them uncovered next time.

Definitely will come back for the crispy pata or to try the lechon kawali. Crispy pata was good but I feel the skin could have been a little crispier. No big deal because you can simply throw it in the oven to toast it up a bit more. Looking forward to try the Lechon Kawali!

On top of that, former Golden State Warriors player Festus Ezeli has been here and said he loved the wings, so we had to check it out while we were in the area. When we got there, it was already busy, but we were glad we were able to get a table right away. Good thing we came when we did, because a wait started forming shortly after. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but it was understandable--they had a steady flow of call-in and DoorDash orders going out. We ordered the garlic soy wings, salt and pepper fish, and shrimp fried rice. First off, the shrimp fried rice actually had real, good-sized shrimp--not those tiny ones you sometimes get--which we really appreciated. The wings were flavor town: crispy, packed with flavor, and super satisfying. Even though you can see peppers in the dish, there wasn't really a spicy kick, which is different from San Tung, where there's usually a slight heat. That said, even without the spice, these wings absolutely live up to the hype. The salt and pepper fish was also a standout--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Overall, I can see why people compare this place to San Tung. They're both delicious, just in their own way.

I cannot say I can finish two and I'm a big eater too. The spiced vinegar served with them cuts the richness of the deep fried goodness. ProTip...make sure you get the bits of picked onions and peppers in the vinegar to add a nice bite to the already delicious empanada. Out of all of them, this empanada was probably my least favorite one. My mother & father in law are from the Philippines and they agreed. These are really stuffed with meat but they were really dry. The egg was also fully cooked, I prefer a soft runny yolk. The ratio was probably 50% meat, 30% mung bean, and 20% papaya. It was just sooo dry, you definitely needed to drench that in vinegar to get through it. The outer shell was really crispy though! + points for being able to order & pick up same day! A lot of places you need to order in advance.

Lastly, they have tons of filipino dessert options spread across shelves on the walls for those who love their carbs and sweets. They used to have more seating but now they have just one table inside because they made space for a couple of refrigerators and a shelf for bread. It's a tiny place and there's no outdoor seating so not really a place where you can sit and eat unless you get lucky and arrive early and no one is sitting at the table. I especially like ordering the big platter of Shanghai lumpia for parties with friends or for my child's classroom (it's always a hit with everyone young and old).. my only gripe is the timing of pick up. I used to order over the phone right when they open all the time but 100% of my orders are never ready at the specified time. Even though I give a specified time for pick up I end up waiting at least 10-15 minutes more after the time I requested. I thought maybe it was because I was ordering over the phone and not paying until I get to the restaurant for pick up later in the afternoon so thought I'd try ordering in person, paying up front and giving a pick up time for a few hours later. We arrived a few minutes early and they actually didn't have it ready and I, unfortunately, still waited a little bit. In any case, the wait is usually worth it but if I'm extremely pressed for time I think I would call ahead of time to let them know I was coming to pick up.
