    Ilocos empanada

Good spot for all day silogs. Even better now that they sell Ilocos empanadas since most of the vendors in the area require preordering. This time ended up getting a pork sisig silog which was good, had the leaner cuts of meat which I like. Staff is friendly and service is pretty quick which is good when you're trying to get in and out for a quick meal. Overall, if you're looking for a spot for Filipino breakfast and Ilocos empanadas without preorder, this is the spot to go. Only other place I know that sells without preordering is across the bridge.

If you're craving Ilocano comfort food, Just En Joy in Vallejo is the spot. It's an Ilocano fast-food Filipino place located in the same plaza as Island Pacific, so it's super convenient when you're already in the area. We ordered the bangsilog, papaitan, and their Ilocos empanada -- and everything hit the spot. The papaitan had that bold, legit bitter flavor (the way it should be!), the bangsolog was satisfying, and the empanada had a good amount of filling. Portions were solid and worth it. Staff were friendly and service was fast, which I always appreciate. The place itself is a bit outdated, but honestly it didn't bother us -- we came for the food and it delivered. Definitely coming back when that Ilocano craving kicks in again.

From the time i learned that they serve goat, i think we have been ordering food here for 2 weeks to taste everything then we got crazier when we learn that they sell empanada! Their caldereta is good but requires more spice but hubby loves it. Their adobo not much, we also ordered their sinampalukan & pinapaitan which are equally good. Love their inasal too but their silog not much. Their empanada is good enough- better than nothing. I still gonna come back here bec this is the food that i started loving 30 years ago! Service is slow though but its worth waiting. They have enough seat for 20-30 pax perhaps

Came here for the ilocos empanada and I have confirm it is as good as it is hyped up to be. Also ordered the trying talong silos plate and both were delicious. Great food and great service. Coming back here again soon!

Delicious local Ilocano-owned eatery serving up Filipino food with a smile! I ate at Just En Joy with my parents and fiancé for a weekday lunch. My family is Ilocano so when I told my parents about a nearby Ilocano restaurant, they were very excited to try it. Service was very friendly and our food came out pretty quick. They have a lot of yummy options on their menu. Easy to get a seat. There were some other customers dining in and they had a few take out orders too. What we ordered: * Garlic peanuts, $7.99 - a tub of fried peanuts seasoned with garlic. You'll love these if you love peanuts and garlic like I do. * Ilocos empanada, $7.95 - huge, generously stuffed, and crispy! Filled with Vigan longganisa, grated green papaya, munggo, and an egg. Served with vinegar on the side. * Pinapaitan, $14.99 for medium size a la carte - my dad ordered this. He enjoyed it and said it tastes authentic. Bitter and savory with lots of broth. * Kilawin, $30.99 for large size a la carte - my parents and I tried the kilawin and loved it. Lots of goat meat and skin. Mildly spicy with the jalapeños. You can taste the vinegar too. Comes with lemon wedges if you want more acidity. I took home most of the kilawin to use for lunches. It's delicious warm as well as cold. I like to pair it with rice or salad for a more balanced meal. * Tortang talong, $12.99 - large pieces of tortang talong with java rice, and atchara. I didn't get to try it, but my fiancé said it was delicious. * Inasal plate, $12.99 - tender, juicy, perfectly grilled and seasoned chicken quarter with java rice, soy vinegar sauce, and chili oil. This was so delicious and filling. I took home the rice because it was a lot of rice for me, but it reheated well when I ate it a few days later. * Kamsilog, $14.99 - soy sauce calamnsi marinated goat meat with java rice, egg, and atchara. My mom loved it and said it tasted similar to bistek. The goat was tender and well seasoned. Big meal and good value for the price. Note If you pay with card, they have a $0.50 fee. No working bathroom for customers at the moment, but there is a bathroom in the nearby Island Pacific Supermarket. Everything we tried was delicious and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!

Service was excellent, the person who took my order was very kind and attentive. Ordering was simple and easy. Best to ask what they have available especially if you come around 4pm. Some dishes may be out by then. Had to get some of those famous empanadas. They were very big and stuffed to the point that one could be a whole meal. They take a bit of time to cook though. They do make it to order so being patient is key, but well worth it. Also tried some of the goat dishes, hard to find some goat dishes that don't have that strong scent or taste on it. But the dishes i ordered were perfect, made me feel like I was at one of my family bbq's when I was younger. Just needed a beer to wash it all down and an uncle telling me to try more. Good spot, will have to come back to try other dishes. This time I'll come earlier.

The food is great! I stopped one Saturday morning and ordered the Illocos empanadas. It is recommended to call in your order since it takes about 20-30 min. No long waits here unlike other places. Tastes delish also! Highly recommended!

It's the best Filipino sit-down restaurant I've had as of late. It's located by Springs Rd. beside Island Pacific Grocery Store. It has plenty of sitting, the place is clean and organized. The staff are nice and friendly. The Silogs (we got Tapa/Tocino/Pork Sisig/hotdogs w/ rice/egg/daikon and carrot atchara) are the Best I've had in a while. It's like a taste of home. We also got chicken and pork bbq and bilog. The meat is juicy, tender and very flavorful. They have a decent serving at an affordable price. Plus water and coffee is on the house! Imagine my pleasant surprise! We are definitely coming back!

Finally found an Ilocano Empanada place in Vallejo. Thank you Just En Joy! Very tasty and yummy. Worth the drive from Vacaville.

We've been here so many times and love the filipino food especially the isaw which is not readily available everywhere. We regularly goat papaitan, pork sisig or pork bbq. l used to order chicken isaw to them pick up at a Vallejo house few years ago too. Owners are hardworking and friendly. They don't force you on tips when you pay unlike other stores. Highly recommended.

If you want good Filipino food and a decent price, then this is the place. It's in a very non-descriptive area of Vallejo, but you are coming here for a specific reason. Service was quick and you can smell the food as soon as you walk in. Menu is very simple and got the Bansilog. Food was fresh and delicious (IMO). Also tried some of the skewer meats, and was also good. Nice find in Vallejo!

We love a good mom n pop shop! Once you enter it's a very casual setting and the staff is super friendly. It was my first time trying silog and I loved it! Pork Sisig Silog 4.5/5: It was cut up in cubes and had a good tangy citrus kick to it! The garlic rice is mild but really good. Then it pairs with some pickled veggies and an egg. It's simple but flavorful. I do wish the sisig was more crispy but that's personal preference. I've also tried their bangus silog and that was delicious and their portions are really generous. I'd definitely recommend this spot and to support their small business!

I never tried this restaurant out until 2/21/24. It look nice inside and I dine in. Just En Joy is the place to eat at while your parents are shopping inside Island Pacific. The Pork Tocino was delicious. I love the scoop of rice. My service inside Just En Joy was excellent. I had to ask if the restaurant accepted credit cards since I saw no Visa/Mastercard logo sticker on their door. Just En Joy is the place I will be eating at when I am in Springtowne.

When we got there, it was already busy, but we were glad we were able to get a table right away. Good thing we came when we did, because a wait started forming shortly after. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but it was understandable--they had a steady flow of call-in and DoorDash orders going out. We ordered the garlic soy wings, salt and pepper fish, and shrimp fried rice. First off, the shrimp fried rice actually had real, good-sized shrimp--not those tiny ones you sometimes get--which we really appreciated. The wings were flavor town: crispy, packed with flavor, and super satisfying. Even though you can see peppers in the dish, there wasn't really a spicy kick, which is different from San Tung, where there's usually a slight heat. That said, even without the spice, these wings absolutely live up to the hype. The salt and pepper fish was also a standout--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Overall, I can see why people compare this place to San Tung. They're both delicious, just in their own way.

Hubby found this restaurant and so we drove to the place. First thing you'll notice once you enter the restaurant is the warm temp inside - no AC but they have electric fans going on. To the right is a long shelf with a variety grocery items while the table seating is laid out in the center. TV was tuned in to a channel playing a Filipino movie. This is a "turo-turo" style food ordering, meaning no table service instead you go to where the dishes are cooked in large portions (which is towards the back of the restaurant) and you choose which ones you want. We ordered: Pork Sinigang - a little too sour for me but this is a classic Filipino soup with pork ribs, vegetables, and tamarind broth. Bistek (beef steak) - thin slices of marinated beef before smothered in a deeply savory sauce and topped with golden-seared onions Pork Adobo - classic Filipino dish of pork simmered in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic Kaldereta - goat meat stew I didn't try the kaldereta but all the other dishes were good and delicious. I used to order over the phone right when they open all the time but 100% of my orders are never ready at the specified time. Even though I give a specified time for pick up I end up waiting at least 10-15 minutes more after the time I requested. I thought maybe it was because I was ordering over the phone and not paying until I get to the restaurant for pick up later in the afternoon so thought I'd try ordering in person, paying up front and giving a pick up time for a few hours later. We arrived a few minutes early and they actually didn't have it ready and I, unfortunately, still waited a little bit. In any case, the wait is usually worth it but if I'm extremely pressed for time I think I would call ahead of time to let them know I was coming to pick up.
