This was our first time trying Big H Deli. We found it on a road trip to Lake Tahoe. I had questions about the menu and the attendant was courteous and informative. I ended up going with the chicken shawarma and my husband had the meatball sandwich. The chicken shawarma wrap was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. There has a hearty amount of chicken. There was also a tasty creamy sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes, which balanced the bold flavors of the chicken very well. The wrap was also very large. This wrap was a 10 for me! So much so, that I wanted to reroute my drive back just to go back to eat there again. My husband mentioned he enjoyed his meatball sandwich. The bread had a nice crunch on the outside, but soft on the inside. The sauce was tasty with a slight pepper kick. There was also a lot of cheese on it. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. I've been here two times, each time was delicious! The first I got falafel and salad, it was really good and light. Tons of flavor. Today I got the pastrami sandwich combo. The sandwich was one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've had. The bread was moist, meat was hot and tender, veggies were the right proportions. The service was killer, greeted me as I walked in and got me going quickly. They have iced tea but I wanted a lemon, so they cut some up fresh for me! That's the type of thing that will get me coming back over and over. The ambiance is a deli, nothing too flashy, but they've got plenty of seats inside and out. Big H Deli is a hidden gem in Fairfield California. The owners Zed and Louie put love into every sandwich and made-from-scratch item that comes out of eatery. I've tried quite a few items like the pasta salad, potato salad, dolma, pastrami sandwich, gyro, and the spicy chicken shawarma. Everything coming out of here is amazing and large portions to boot! Just had a falafel wrap here, huge and delicious. Also had the cucumber salad as a side which was awesome. The staff was super friendly as well. One of the few places I'll say is worth your money and the trip! It wasn't super busy when we walked in and the portion sizes are very generous! We order the French dip sandwich and the flavor was great, meat was cooked just right and the sauce complimented the sandwich well, though it was a bit thicker than I thought it'd be for an Au Jus, but hey to each their own for sauces. 4/5* Their shawarma wrap was probably the most worth getting on their menu; the size of it is very generous and flavorful. Out of the 2 things we got this was definitely the winner for $12. 5/5* Both of the gentlemen were very nice behind the counter and when we're back in the area we will be back again! read more

Stopped in here for lunch. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich with Swiss cheese on a sourdough roll and half extra meat. It was absolutely delicious and huge! They sliced the meat to order. The pastrami was well seasoned without being overly salty. It also had a nice blackened crust. Very moist and tender. The bread was soft but, held up well to the monster amount of meat. Usually don't have any complaints about Big H but the last Pastrami Sandwich had some dry, overcooked, crisp pieces that weren't pleasant to chew on. Maybe they were thrown on the flattop too long. A friend and I stopped in after a hike nearby for a fuel up lunch. We did not know what to expect, but we're happy with their diverse menu. Lots of Mediterranean wrap and plate choices along with usual deli sandwich choices. We both ended up ordering the chicken Sharma wrap and were blown away both by the size and how good they were when it was brought to our table. Where has this deli been my whole life?! I cannot believe that I have lived in Solano for decades and today was the first time we tried Big H Deli. Ambience: Local, neighborhood deli. No fuss or anything fancy. Clean, enough tables, and even a couple of tables outside to have lunch with your doggo. It's one of those places that makes the fabric of a community. You know that place, you walk in and it just feels right. Food: Y'all, we could not get over how good the French dip was!!! And c'mon now, is it even possible for ONE person to eat a whole sandwich alone? Louie cuts the meat fresh and piles it on. Seriously, it's like a 1.5-2" inch stack of meat. The French roll was perfect...toasted but not messy crunchy. It still had a softness to it. My husband was thrilled! The pup loved the pieces we gave her too! The au jus...yummers! Service: Zed is hilarious! He's got that dry humor that totally makes you laugh because he delivers it with such a straight face. He and Louie are so kind and welcoming. I felt like I just happened to know some guys that make incredible sandwiches. Hands down best sandwich place in the county. We've decided we're going to try everything on the menu. Decent Mediterranean food! We got a beef gyro plate and a falafel sandwich. Lots of food came with the gyro plate! Sides and pita. Plus, their really good hot sauce. Delicious! I had heard positive comments about Big H Deli and finally stopped by on Saturday after running errands in the area. We decided on ordering the Chicken Shawarma wrap combo & Turkey Sandwich combo. Also decided to order a side of cucumber salad and Italian pasta salad. The sizes of their wrap and sandwich were huge! I stopped in here because of the great reviews. The service was good and the prices are reasonable. I ordered a beef shawarma but it was not that good. There were too many veggies and condiments and it had a few slices of what appeared to be the gyro meat. It was definitely tended to the Americanized palate. We had lunch here on a weekday. Parking was easy to find. We walked up to the counter and looked at the menus on the 2 screens. We all ordered a chicken shawarma plate at the counter, paid, then sat down. Service was friendly and they were patient with us. Decent amount of seating available. Our 3 orders came out pretty quick. The plates were huge! Could probably split just the chicken into 3 or 4 separate meals for 1 person. We took our leftovers home. I thought the chicken was flavorful and tender. Made delicious leftovers too. Also enjoyed the soft pita bread on the side, the dolma, and the falafel. I thought the plate was a great deal.
